I accept the challenge, Of visiting planet earth, To not lose my identity, But rather give it birth. ☉ Identity is a funny word in that it can have different meanings to different people and be based on any number of things. We can base our identity on our vocation, race, creed, color, values, memories, past choices, and the list goes on and on. New Paradigm Astrology asserts that our identity is "in progress" as we evolve, grow, and expand. As we shed the identities that we have either adopted or been given by external "authorities," and more fully embody our soul/spiritual truth. With Uranus transiting Taurus (until 2026), we can see that radical new values are being discovered, needed, and expressed. These new, individualized, "awakened" values are at odds with many socially prevalent values, rules, laws, and groups. When it comes to making changes, The bigger, the more complex, I need to examine the intricacies, Then intuit what comes next. So yes, you may be feeling blocked, stopped, or delayed these days as you envision a future and want to make it happen. These two squares, Venus/Mars and Saturn/Uranus, along with Mercury stopping, indicate that we need to do just what the mantra says, pause, move into our observer, and examine the situation before going forward. It is a simple but often tricky step when we are emotionally invested (or disturbed) by what we are seeing, hearing, and feeling. And yet, alas, that's the game for 2021! I will make a special effort, To go deep down within. Knowing that love and contentment, Are feelings found therein. While we may personally experience loneliness or witness others sinking and shriveling up in isolation, there are sure to be additional, long term effects, especially on the young. Closing bars, restaurants, beaches, and parks, and limiting social activities, I'm sure, is adding to a growing atmosphere of alienation, anger, and disrespect. These times are genuinely testing us to research, study, and learn precisely what is safe and what is not according to our own knowledge and beliefs. I simply need to socialize, Go out with someone new, Expand the circle of friends I have, To include you and you and you! There is no better manifestation of 5 planets in Aquarius and the Moon's north node in Gemini than each person making informed decisions based upon their own research coupled with their own intuition, beliefs, and life situation. These times repeatedly demonstrate that patriarchal, hierarchical, top-down, particular (often personal) interest, external authorities are usually far less informed, correct, open to alternatives, moral, or caring than many of us have innocently thought. Rather than blindly accepting what we are told, it is now incumbent upon us to fully inform ourselves and make the necessary changes in lifestyle, diet, exposure to EMFs, toxins, and pollution. The south node, currently in Sagittarius, is "the path of least resistance." For now, that is spouting off other people's beliefs, judgments, and conclusions as our own with undue and often exaggerated righteousness as if we "know." When I refuse to change and grow, The pressure and tension increase. If I continue to cling to the past, It will hurt when Life takes it from me. Oops! I meant Fukushima, not Chernobyl! A senior moment! Anyway, whether it is a planet, a nation, a church, family, or a person, the same applies to all. Change is inevitable, and the soul's desire to evolve, as unconscious as it is or not, is also unavoidable. However, our ego-consciousness often seeks security in the known and familiar, leading to pain and suffering when we outgrow our own "egg" or need to shed our old skin. This is one of those months. This new Moon sets the tone for the entire lunar cycle (a month), so even though some of these aspects will change and let go, the overall tone is set. With so much of life out of control, I need to go beyond. Pierce the veil between the worlds, And reconcile with the Divine. As mentioned previously, despite 2020 ending, the astrology of our times shows us that we are in a long term initiation process that is far from over. The beginning of any initiation involves removing what has been previously relied upon for sustenance, which induces the need and longing for something new/more. I would say that we are still in a state of "reduction," or loss. It will take us time to collectively move through the stages of grief, which are natural to a human being when they experience loss: Denial, Anger, Bargaining, and Depression finally leading to Acceptance (Elizabeth Kubler-Ross). The challenge now is to continue moving through these stages without getting stuck in any of them too long. Depending on the loss, it can take six to eighteen months (or more) to finally come into acceptance so let's have patience with ourselves and each other. Secondly, not mentioned in the report is that after Uranus goes direct next week, we have all the planets in direct motion (except a short 3-week Mercury Retro coming early February) until the END OF APRIL! Hold onto your hats! The pace of change, innovation, and overwhelm for some is going to pick up fast. These months will be useful for envisioning, planning, and beginning new projects based on a "new normal" that will have better chances of succeeding due to their grounded, lowered expectations. It's time to get real and make a plan, To go forward from here and now. I will stay grounded, present and clear, Not get lost with my head in the clouds. Haha! Went on another rave! As I set sail upon my journey, What may come I cannot know. I must stay present, alert, and awake, If I'm to reach the far distant shore. 2020 has been the year of the car wash. Both Jupiter and Saturn went through the "Plutonian cleanse," a stripping, dying, emptying, and purging. We are now getting down to the bare bones bottom of the pit, stripped to our core. I am free to focus upon, Whatever I wish to grow.  I therefore choose love over fear,  As the seed I wish to sow. Dealing with the perceived harshness of life these days may lead to depressive thoughts and feelings. There are not many who will understand, What I know but find hard to explain. There is so much more than what meets the eye, I am humbled by the scope of the plan. As I mention lightly in this report, there is a challenge going on in the spiritual world as some forces seek to drive the human race deeper into materialism where they (we) may lose awareness of our spiritual soul nature/origin. These forces are incredibly strong with the Jupiter/Saturn/Pluto stellium occurring in the earth sign of Capricorn, hence the need for us all to be even more aware and attentive to spirit worlds. Here is the full text of the Sabian symbol for the 16th degree of Aries and its interpretation, according to Dane Rudhyar in his book “An Astrological Mandala” Vintage Books, NY, NY 1973.
