COVID-19 Update with Patrick Dahlson of Mayesh and Ian Prosser of Botanica
As I mention on almost every episode, I created this podcast to help, serve, and encourage our friends in the floral industry. Over time my flower family has continued to grow and literally cover our planet and with the events over the last couple weeks and especially the last 72 hours at the time of this recording these words are the basis for this week’s impromptu interview. Events have been canceled or postponed, flights have been disrupted, social distancing has become more than just a buzz word, and we may feel like we are in a whirlwind, because of COVID-19 or Corona Virus. Over the next several weeks, we will all have felt the impact in someway by the current situation. This week, I spoke with Patrick, Dahlson, CEO of Mayesh Wholesale Florist and Ian Prosser of Botanica International Design and Decor Studio for a short conversation about what’s going on at this moment in the floral industry from a couple of different perspectives. Patrick shares his insights on managing orders and customers, flower logistics, and facing these challenges with energized hope for the coming weeks. Ian shares openly about their cancelations and how they're approaching their events on a case by case basis. He also discusses how Tampa is working with local businesses in a positive way to work through this challenging time. I spoke with these business owners on Sat. March 14th, so To be transparent, this situation is changing all the time and we can only speak to the climate and challenges we have today. Needless to say, I’m thankful that Patrick and Ian were able to join me on The Flower Podcast. Please know that I believe great challenges will create great triumphs. Let us all come together to give each other hope and encouragement and use this time to learn and grow as a floral community.
