Yours Truly, Johnny Dollar is back on the Library of Sound Volume 312. Today, Johnny is called upon to look into the disappearance of a hot young wife of an old hat company head man. Things look suspicious but Johnny will figure it out. From January 27, 1957 Your Humble Host presents "The Mad Hatter Matter".

It's the deep blue sea for Gildy, well, it's the deep water reservoir anyway. It's Sounds Like Radio Volume 169 and we find GIldy trying to build up his name as water commissioner in the town. He needs publicity that mean a deep dive in the water reservoir! Your Humble Host will try to build Gildy's confidence with a few folks he's brought with him, Robert Mitchum drinks calypso style water, Dinah Shore, Phil Harris, Emmylou Harris, Bing Crosby, Lee Wiley, Mills Brothers & Sophie Tucker. We've all gathered for another funny and oh so great musical episode of Sounds Like Radio!

Your Humble Host returns to his own Jean Shepherd Vault and lo and behold we find a tape he recorded on March 20, 1975. Today on the Library of Sound Volume 311 we'll hear Shep speak of Pulp magazines, planes & authors. It's a full ride today as we travel with Jean Shepherd.

Sounds Like Radio Volume 168 is here and with it Your Humble Host has brought with him a couple of hives of bees!! Yipe, don't worry, it's all for Leroy who wants to start up a bee business. The Great Gildersleeve wanted Leroy to think of ways to make money he didn't count on it being bees though. Orson Welles, the first actor to play the Shadow is here with an episode entitled "Witch Drums of Salem" originally heard September 11, 1938. Your Humble Host imitates Orson Welles and the way he says, "The Shadow". In case you were wondering why I say it that way. Now on to The Shadow!

Humphrey Bogart and Lauren Bacall are back on the Library of Sound Volume 308. Today Bogie plays "Russian Roulette" originally heard around July 2, 1951 as this was a syndicated program there was no one broadcast date. And be sure to hear "Bogie" as he talks with Your Humble Host after the show!

Oh, Your Humble Host has an action packed Great Gildersleeve on Sounds Like Radio Volume 167 this week. It seems our hero is wanted by a desperate woman who claims Gildy is her runaway husband missing for more than a decade. Oh no, Gildy's never been married it's all a mistake. Nothing to do now but put on your running shoes. Today's show originally heard April 2, 1952. Well, I hate to see Gildy in a pickle and so do these folks who all have a word of advice: Eddy Arnold, Billie Holiday, Bing Crosby, Ink Spots, Kay Starr, Dean Martin, Ella Fitzgerald & Louis Jordan.

On the Library of Sound (LOS) Volume 307 we find it's time for Your Humble Host to dip into his own Jean Shepherd Vault and pick out another exclusive classic Shep tape that he originally recorded. It was March 20, 1975 Your Humble Host was still a youngster but knew enough to know that recording these Shepherd shows would guarantee I'd be able to listen to them in the future. Now they've become Shep classic stories. So let's pull out the latest Shep tape as he talks about having the Jackdaw Syndrome when he goes out junking. What's it all mean? Your Humble Host is here with a Great Gildersleeve from February 13, 1952. In today's show it seems Bullard (Gildy's bad neighbor) has gotten word that GIldersleeve it toting an engagement ring about town. Bullard assumes the worst and thinks it's meant for his sister, Paula! Now Bullard must spring into action. But we're always here to lend a helping hand with these delicate matters and to do that we've got Perry Como, Peggy Lee, Bing Crosby (with a really beautiful song), Helen Ward, Bobby Vinton, K.D. Lang & Ella Fitzgerald.

The Shadow has returned to the Library of Sound (LOS) Volume 298. And just in time as today the Shadow faces "The Black Buddha" as it was originally heard September 4, 1938. Orson Welles, the first of the men to play the Shadow is featured in today's show. Danger lurks and so does Your Humble Host as he hides behind the curtains. Well, I just don't want to spoil the Shadow's fun, that's all.

Your Humble Host is here with Volume 163 of Sounds Like Radio! Today we find the Great Gildersleeve trying to help Marjorie & Bronco get a $2000 loan to finish construction on their house. Where to go? Ahh, how about Bullard, he's loaded BUT wait a minute Bullard and Gildy can't stand each other. Now that's what I call a flaw in the slaw with this plan. But somehow or another Your Humble Host and his buddies here will come up with a solution. Why to help cogitate on this we have Rosemary Clooney (as seen in our picture with this show displaying all her goodies she has to offer to get Bullard to come to Gildy's house) also with us are Burl Ives, Dinah Washington, Bing Crosby, Peggy Lee, Ink Spots and Jimmy Durante. With this brain trust we just gotta come up with an idea for Marjorie.

Today Your Humble Host asks the question, what happens after the Jack Benny Show? Well, we're going to find out in this funny February 9, 1947 episode of Jack Benny!

Your Humble Host is proud to present one of my favorite good guys, Simon Templar, better known as The Saint. Vincent Price played the Saint on radio and did it quite well. The Saint on TV was Roger Moore but before Moore there was Vincent Price. The Saint stories were always interesting whether from the books, TV or radio. Today the Saint faces a "High Fence" from June 20, 1945.

Your Humble Host is back in the Reading Corner and has asked Boris Karloff to return to the Library of Sound Volume 293 and to tell us a few more of them really short Aesop's Fables. Today Boris tells us about the Man and the Satyr (a mythical forest creature with the top of a man with a goat's ears, tail and legs), also Boris speaks of the Rooster & the Jewel, the Old Hound and the Mountain In Labor. Boris is loaded today with little fables, enjoy.

As Rudy Vallee would say, "My time is your time". And for Your Humble Host today on the Library of Sound Volume 292 that's true as we present this April 20, 1949 broadcast of the great Bing Crosby Show! Bing's guest is the famous crooner from the 1920's the forever college boy, Rudy Vallee. With megaphone in hand he's woo his way to stardom BEFORE Bing's time. This is a funny show too, I think you'll enjoy.

Sounds Like Radio Volume 162 is here with Your Humble Host and the Great Gildersleeve from February 27, 1952. Today Gildy is going to give Leroy his freedom to be responsible for himself. He's gotten tired of telling Leroy what to do so he's going to see how things go if Leroy is, for once responsible for his own chores. Will Leroy be able to handle this new found freedom? Will all his duties now go to pot? Will Gildy trip over Leroy's skates again? Well, we're here to help Leroy out in his new quest for freedom. Or so he thinks, till this young college gal comes along and now the mayor has her in mind for the job, of course. Gildersleeve is now worried this new gal may find him inefficient, she's the efficiency expert don't you know. Well, I have some folks with me to calm Gildy's nerves. On hand today are Fred Astaire, Leanne Rimes, Eddy Arnold, Betty Boop, Bing Crosby, Georgia Gibbs, Nat King Cole & Kay Starr. We'll also get a bit of yodeling in with Elton Britt and a fantastic yodel song. Well, all this may not help Gildy but it sure sounds great to listen to.
