This Sounds Like Radio is bubbling over with waterlogged excitement!! The Great Gildersleeve is worried about a new water specialist showing up in this 1/26/49 classic episode. Water though was never more musical as Sounds Like Radio shows us here.
There's the watery music from Grandpa (Walter Brennan), Julie London (as depicted in this week's picture) & Bing Crosby provides the protection from being soaked. While Dean Martin prefers wine, Helen Ward says Not For Me, Emmylou Harris will become a Wayfaring Stranger & even Steve Lawrence & Eydie Gorme show up Side By Side.

Best of Sounds Like Radio: Vol 110 Mountain Climbers Gildy & Bullard!
Get set to Climb Every Mountain, well, at least one, "Old Stone Face" with Gildersleeve and Mr. Bullard. It's Volume 110 today of Sounds Like Radio featuring a November 8, 1950 episode of The Great Gildersleeve with Gale Gordon & Willard Waterman. These 2 would later work together in the Dennis The Menace TV show that came a few years after this Gildy show. Willard Waterman played the grocer, Mr. Quigley in Dennis The Menace and also played Gildersleeve in the TV version.
And to bring out the best in every episode of Sounds Like Radio we have some mighty sweet music as always both before and after Gildy. Today Your Humble Host
brings you a Teresa Brewer STEREO version of one of her hits, Bing Crosby is here to dream, but not of White Christmas yet, then Crazy Gugenheim drops in on Your Humble Host to sing a little ditty as Frank Fontaine, the effervescent Jaye P. Morgan sings a lovely from her alluring album the cover of which you can see posted next to our show this week-Vah Vah Vah Voom, David Allyn a singer new to Sounds Like Radio but not to our library sings a ditty you may be familiar with, and the wonderful Helen O'Connell is in the mood to slow it down in her musical selection. We even get to take a break and sip some Campbell's soup with a call back to Lassie.

It's Volume 84 of Sounds Like Radio and in this February 22, 1950 show the Great Gildersleeve wants to be President of the Jolly Boys just so he gets to travel to a convention. He's sure the rest of the Jolly Boys can't wait to unanimously elect him. Uh huh.
Enjoy the fun in this show along with our great traveling to a convention music with Frank Sinatra, Joni James & Bing Crosby. Then we throw out the rulebook and play music with no theme at all except it's just some of my favorite sounding songs of all time. Vol 172 Great Gildersleeve Sticks As Marjorie & Bronco Want To Be Alone Together
Ahh, to be alone with your sweetheart! That's all Marjorie and the newly returned Bronco want BUT. Gildy and Leroy were all set to go fishing then they got the news Bronco was coming back. Try as they might, Gildy just doesn't take a hint when our young lovebirds try to convince Gildy & Leroy to PLEASE GO FISHING.
It's a funny Great Gildersleeve from May 14, 1952 today on Volume 172 of Sounds Like Radio. Your Humble Host has brought along some mighty fine singers and songs for you too. Joining us will be Jaye P. Morgan in a neat stereo song, Louis Armstrong & Bing Crosby, Martha Tilton, Hoagy Carmichael, a bit of jazz from Dave Brubeck, Chet Baker & Bill Evans, Jo Stafford sings like a bird, and the great Leon Redbone walks around. Bing will even do an encore of one of his best songs from my favorite Bing album. Now that's what I call a show.

Sounds Like Radio Volume 171 is here as the Great Gildersleeve fears Leroy's ambition to be a singing cowboy. Now if only he had a little singing talent, it might not be so bad. Your Humble Host knows a good cowboy and cowgirl western singer when he hears it, and Leroy ain't it.
