RED Episode #69: Your Running Mantras, Point 57, & Big Storm Brewing Category 3
Send us a textRED Episode #69RUNWe asked: What are your running mantras when things get challenging on a run or during a period of injury? You submitted some great feedback. We share and discuss what keeps you going when things get tough.EATIt was a training week for us, so we explored and indulged in a local restaurant, Point 57, right here in Cape Coral. We were there for brunch, but they also have the regular menu available all day. Aimee had the Cast Iron Ribeye with a blue cheese fondue in a skillet served with an onion, green bean and bacon hash. Dana had the Crispy Pork Shank with blue cheese grits and apple chutney. So tasty!DRINKAt Point 57, there are some pretty tasty cocktails and local brews on tap. Aimee had the Dead on Bourbon, which is worth ordering for the presentation in a smoking skull, rye whiskey, coffee flavors, and a bit of spice. The Summertime in Mexico is tasty as well. Tequila, spiced pear, cardamom, lemon, honey, and maple make this a refreshing and unique cocktail on a hot day. Dana had Islamorada Sandbar Sunday, which made us recall the trip we took to their taproom last October.Yes, we also had a great time this weekend at Big Storm celebrating the release of their Category 3 Belgian Trippel. Thanks to everyone who was able to join us live! At 9.5 ABV, the darker golden body and strength of Cat 3 is far and away heavier than Category 1, and vastly different from Category 2, with its dried fruit notes and darker body. We also got a bonus release to try, Bromosa Tangerine Brut IPA. Yep, Aimee loved it! Shocking! Tangerine flavor with a bit of hop but not too much on the end of the sip, it was not overly sweet, but the fruit aroma and flavor were just right for a hot Florida day.Happy 4th of July this week!
