786 | Celebrating Seven Years: Reflections on My Book Journey
In this episode, I reflect on the whirlwind of November and the profound journey I've experienced over the past seven years since the release of my book, "When She Stopped Asking Why." As we approach the end of 2024, I find myself in a space of both humility and challenge, grappling with personal issues that have led me to moments of burnout. Despite these struggles, I take a moment to celebrate the anniversary of my book, recognizing the growth and changes I've undergone since its release. I dive into the essence of my book, which emerged from a desire to shift my perspective on my life experiences. The title itself encapsulates a pivotal moment in my journey—moving away from victimhood and embracing the lessons learned from my past. I share the backstory of writing the book during a tumultuous time, emphasizing that it was more than just a project; it was a means of processing my emotions and experiences. Throughout the episode, I discuss the challenges of becoming an author, the pressure I placed on myself, and the healing that unfolded as I shared my story. I highlight the importance of vulnerability in writing and the necessity of overcoming the fear of judgment from others. I encourage listeners to recognize that their stories matter and can significantly impact others who may be struggling with similar challenges. As I reflect on my journey, I acknowledge the mistakes made along the way, including the editing process that revealed errors even at the last minute. However, I emphasize that perfection is not the goal; it's about sharing our authentic selves and the lessons we've learned. I invite listeners to celebrate their past selves and the growth they've achieved, even amidst ongoing challenges. Looking ahead, I express my excitement for the future and the work I am doing to help others share their stories. I announce an upcoming audio-based program that will guide aspiring authors through the process of writing and publishing their books, aiming to demystify the journey and empower them to embrace their voices. If you are ready to learn these tools, techniques and methods for changing your beliefs, thoughts and stories, I invite you into the OUTSPOKEN NLP Coaching Certification. 783 | How NLP Can Change Your Perspective
In this episode, I dive into the transformative power of changing our perspectives, particularly through the lens of Neurolinguistic Programming (NLP). I share a realization I had recently: without altering our perspective, we cannot see our stories or circumstances in a new light. This episode is dedicated to exploring how shifting our viewpoint can unlock new opportunities for growth, healing, and self-discovery. I begin by discussing the essence of NLP, which is fundamentally about understanding our mind's patterns and recognizing our blind spots. Our subconscious mind often operates on autopilot, replaying past experiences and limiting beliefs that keep us stuck in a comfort zone, even if that zone is uncomfortable. I emphasize the importance of reprogramming our inner narrative to change how we perceive our experiences and, ultimately, our reality. One of the key techniques I introduce is subconscious timeline work. I explain how our subconscious does not recognize time, which means we can revisit past experiences and reframe them to create a more empowering narrative. By visualizing our future as if it has already happened, we can familiarize our subconscious with success and reduce the fear associated with pursuing new opportunities. I also introduce the concept of perceptual positions, using the metaphor of watching a movie. By changing our viewpoint—whether as an observer in a theatre or as a distant camera operator—we can detach from the emotional intensity of our experiences. This shift allows us to gain insights and empathy, reducing stress and opening up new solutions that were previously hidden by our emotional responses. Additionally, I discuss the technique of reframing, which involves changing the frame around our experiences to see them from a different angle. This simple yet powerful tool can transform obstacles into stepping stones, helping us to let go of limiting beliefs and embrace endless possibilities. If you are ready to learn these tools, techniques and methods for changing your beliefs, thoughts and stories, I invite you into the OUTSPOKEN NLP Coaching Certification. 782 | The Heartbeat of My Business - Masculine Structure for Feminine Flow
In this Heartbeat of My Business Podcast Series, I am thrilled to welcome my dear friend and strategic performance coach, Meghan Weir. Together, we dive deep into the fascinating topic of balancing masculine structure with feminine flow in business. This is the first episode of our 6 Part Podcast Series for the HeartWired CEO Mastermind. Our conversation is rich with insights and personal experiences, making it a must-listen for entrepreneurs seeking to harmonize these energies in their work. We kick off the episode by introducing ourselves and sharing our backgrounds. Meghan explains her passion for helping entrepreneurs transition from anxiety to being anchored, confident, and clear in their business pursuits. She emphasizes the importance of embodying the principles she teaches, which stems from her journey of discovering the missing pieces in her business strategy. Reflecting on our shared experiences, we reminisce about meeting in an online mastermind over four years ago. Both of us entered that space feeling overwhelmed and uncertain, despite the wealth of knowledge available. We discuss the lack of intimacy in large group settings and how it can leave participants feeling ungrounded, even when learning valuable skills. I share my journey as an NLP trainer and how I help individuals reprogram their thoughts and beliefs. We both acknowledge the challenges we faced during the pandemic, which forced us to pivot our businesses online. Meghan and I explored the idea that while we learned a lot from our mastermind experience, we were both craving a deeper connection and understanding of how to integrate feminine energy into our work. Meghan explains the concept of sealing the cracks in our foundational beliefs, and how limiting beliefs and past traumas can hinder our growth. We discuss the importance of subconscious change work and somatic release to unlock our true potential. I share my business and personal transformation over the past year, highlighting how I have shifted from a place of fear and anxiety to one of empowerment and creativity. Throughout the episode, we emphasize the significance of combining masculine structure with feminine flow. We discuss how rigid structures can stifle creativity and how allowing space for intuition and emotional expression can lead to greater success in business. Meghan and I both reflect on our growth and the importance of community and support in our journeys. Towards the end of the episode, we announce our exciting new collaboration: the HeartWired CEO mastermind. This 12-month journey will blend both masculine and feminine energies, providing a supportive environment for entrepreneurs to thrive. We invite listeners to reach out with any questions and encourage them to join us in this transformative experience. See the HeartWired CEO Mastermind Trailer. 780 | You Cannot Outthink How Your Body Feels
In this episode, I dive deep into the significance of our thoughts and how they shape our reality. I emphasize the importance of owning our thoughts and stories, explaining that they will own us if we don’t take control. I discuss the concept that we cannot outthink how our bodies feel, highlighting the disconnect many experiences between our conscious thoughts and subconscious emotions. I encourage listeners to recognize when fear or anxiety arises and to understand that these feelings are often rooted in past experiences and trapped emotions. Throughout the episode, I stress the necessity of tuning into our bodies to release these stuck emotions, which can hinder our ability to create change and connect with others. I share insights on maintaining a regulated nervous system, which is crucial for holding space for ourselves and others on stage or in everyday conversations. I also touch on my experiences as a speaker, illustrating how being in tune with my emotions allowed me to connect more authentically with my audience. I encourage listeners to find their own "stage" in daily interactions and to practice being present and empathetic in their conversations. 779 | Handling Comments Like a Pro — Using the Power of Language to Respond with Confidence
In this quick Friday episode, I dive into the art of handling comments like a pro, whether they come from in-person interactions or the online world. I recount a recent experience with a client who was struggling with negative online comments. It became clear that she was internalizing these remarks, interpreting them as personal attacks, even when they weren't directed at her. I emphasize the importance of recognizing that comments often stem from the speaker's own perspective and experiences, not necessarily reflecting our worth or abilities. I outline several techniques for handling comments effectively: Reframe for Understanding; Neutral Acknowledgment; Clarifying Questions; and Pattern Interrupt: I stress the power of language in shaping our responses and maintaining our personal power. By mastering these techniques, we can navigate comments with confidence and ease, ensuring that we focus our energy on those who truly deserve our attention. I also highlight the differences between handling comments in person versus online, noting that people often feel emboldened to say things online that they wouldn't say face-to-face. I encourage listeners to set boundaries and protect their energy by blocking or deleting unconstructive comments. As I wrap up the episode, I stress the power of language in shaping our responses and maintaining our personal power. By mastering these techniques, we can navigate comments with confidence and ease, ensuring that we focus our energy on those who truly deserve our attention. 777 | From Burnout to Breakthrough: My Journey to Feminine Flow
In this episode, I dive deep into the transformative journey of balancing masculine and feminine energies, particularly in building a successful business. Reflecting on my past experiences, I share how I spent much of my life operating solely in masculine energy—characterized by grit, tenacity, and a relentless push for results. While these traits are undeniably important, I realized that they often led me to cycles of burnout and disconnection from my true self. I recount my recent experience as a keynote speaker at the High Vibe Summit, where I faced personal challenges just days before the event. Despite feeling overwhelmed, I was determined to connect with the 145 women in attendance through a group hypnosis session aimed at helping them step into their highest selves. This episode highlights the evolution of my speaking style—from a rigid, memorized approach to one that embraces flexibility and flow. A pivotal moment occurred just before I took the stage. I drew a card that read "forgiveness." This card resonated deeply with me, prompting an emotional release that allowed me to connect authentically with the audience. I discuss how this experience taught me the importance of being present and open to the unexpected rather than clinging to a strict plan. Throughout the episode, I explore the benefits and limitations of both masculine and feminine approaches. The masculine energy provides structure, clarity, and accountability, while the feminine energy fosters creativity, intuition, and connection. A successful business requires a harmonious blend of both energies, allowing growth and transformation. 776 | What Do You Do When It Feels Like Nothing Is Working?
In this episode, I explore a topic that many of us can relate to: the feeling that despite our best efforts, nothing is working in our lives. I share insights from a recent conversation with a client, as well as my own experiences, to explore the question: What do you do when it feels like everything is happening but nothing is happening? I begin by encouraging listeners to clarify what they mean when they say, "Nothing is working." Is it a lack of progress or the absence of desired results? I emphasize the importance of specificity in our goals and definitions of success. Next, I discuss the significance of defining success on your own terms. I share my mantra that as my business grows, my relationships and health also thrive. This holistic view of success is essential for maintaining balance and fulfillment in life. I also touch on the concept of controlling the controllables. It’s easy to get overwhelmed by everything that seems to be going wrong, but we can regain a sense of agency and direction by identifying what we can control and focusing on those aspects. 774 | How Your Higher Self Guides You to Success
In this episode, I explore the profound connection between our higher selves and the intuitive downloads we receive throughout our lives. As I prepare to speak at a High-Vibe summit, I know I want to share my personal beliefs about stepping into our highest selves and the transformative power they hold for life and business. I begin by discussing the concept of intuitive downloads—those sudden, often inexplicable urges to pursue a new idea or project. These downloads come from our higher selves, guiding us toward our true path, even when our conscious minds may resist due to fear or self-doubt. I reflect on my own journey, particularly the creation of my program, Outspoken, which emerged from a powerful, intuitive nudge despite the lack of logical reasoning. Throughout the episode, I share a deeply personal story from my past, recounting my health struggles and the pivotal moment when I received a clear message from my higher self urging me to fight for a hysterectomy. This experience solidified my belief that our higher selves always guide us, providing insights that can lead to life-changing decisions. I invite you to embrace their higher selves, trust the guidance they receive, and take actionable steps toward their goals. I also share a free hypnosis and audio bundle to help individuals connect with their higher selves and feel supported on their journey. 773 | What If It Did Happen Quickly?
In this episode, we explore the powerful concept of readiness and the feelings that arise when we pursue our goals, mainly when they manifest quickly. Marsha works closely with entrepreneurs at various stages of their journeys and shares personal experiences and reflections on the emotional road of ambition and growth. We begin by addressing a common scenario: many aspiring business owners set lofty goals, such as attracting clients or speaking on stages, but when they envision achieving these goals overnight, they often feel a wave of panic. This reaction highlights a disconnect between their aspirations and their self-perception. I encourage listeners to confront this fear by asking themselves how they would feel if their dreams came true today. The typical response is a sense of unpreparedness, which signals that they may need to grow into someone capable of holding that success. Throughout the episode, I emphasize training our subconscious minds to embrace opportunities rather than retreating in fear. I discuss the overwhelming nature of rapid success and the anxiety accompanying it, particularly the fear of losing what we've gained. I challenge listeners to shift their focus from what they fear to what they desire, reinforcing that our thoughts shape our reality. Our conversation dives deep into the intersection of spirituality, mindset, and personal growth, exploring how these elements can transform our lives and businesses. Renee shares her journey of self-discovery, which began over twenty years ago when she was prompted to reflect on her identity beyond the roles she played as a mother and professional. This pivotal moment ignited her spiritual journey, leading her to understand that our authentic essence is connected to a higher power, energy, or consciousness. We discuss how spirituality and mindset are intertwined, emphasizing the importance of recognizing and addressing the fears and subconscious programming that often hold us back. We touch on the significance of feeling rather than just thinking and the necessity of tuning into our bodies to understand the subtle messages of our subconscious. Renee highlights her revelations about fear, explaining how it can serve as a protective mechanism rather than a villain. We can foster personal growth and transformation by embracing fear and showing up despite discomfort. As we discuss the launch of her podcast, "Spiritually Wired," Renee expresses her excitement about creating a space for deeper conversations around spirituality, mindset, and wellness. 771 | How Scripting + NLP + ChatGPT Will Skyrocket Your Results
In this episode, Marsha shares the transformative strategies that can significantly enhance how you set and achieve your goals. Over the years, she’s discovered powerful techniques that have catapulted her results, and she’s excited to share these two techniques with you in this episode today. Scriptwriting involves crafting narratives as if your goals are already accomplished. When writing your scripts, this includes all aspects of your life—health, relationships, finances, and personal space. This practice has allowed her to envision and feel empowered to pursue what she wants. Next, she dives into subconscious reprogramming and neurolinguistic programming (NLP). As an NLP trainer, she explains how language shapes our thoughts and beliefs. She highlights the staggering number of thoughts we have daily, many of which are negative and repetitive. She stresses the need for conscious awareness and the active work required to shift your thought patterns to combat this. Then comes the powerful combination of script writing and NLP techniques to train your brain to feel safe pursuing your desires. Safety is paramount for your subconscious mind; if you don’t feel safe, you may sabotage or hesitate to take action. I provide examples of how to identify limiting beliefs and rewrite them in a more empowering way. This is how you can access your day in life with your new script: 1. Open your notes app and write a description of everything your dream life has and who your future self is. There are no limits. Have fun with this! The more descriptive, the better. Let your imagination run wild. GO BIG. Your imagination powers this, but the tech organizes it. 2. Now write in ChatGpt: Based on this description, tell me a story of a day in my dream life when I am my future self, who already has it all. (Copy and paste your description from your notes.) 770: The Vision You Hold About Expanding
In this episode of our podcast, I dive deep into the concept of expansion in our lives, businesses, and relationships. As we talk about the theme of expansion, I share the need to be mindful of the visions we hold for ourselves. In a world dominated by social media, it’s easy to fall into the trap of comparing our journeys to the seemingly perfect lives of others. I remind listeners that behind every success story lies a messy process filled with hard work, setbacks, and lessons learned. It’s crucial to recognize that the glamorous images we see often omit the struggles and failures that are part of the journey. I share my own experiences as I navigate the release of our first published book through Outspoken Publishing. This process has been anything but easy, filled with long hours of editing and collaboration. The path to expansion is often messy and requires perseverance. It’s essential to embrace the messiness and understand that it’s a natural part of growth. 768 | Are You Meant to Carry Your Stories
In this episode, I take you on a journey through my recent trip to Finland, a country renowned for being the happiest place in the world for five consecutive years. I share my experiences and observations, mainly focusing on the cultural nuances I encountered, such as the surprising lack of eye contact among the locals and the stories behind that. Before our trip, a friend warned us that Finns tend to avoid eye contact, which struck me as odd given the country's reputation for happiness. However, I soon discovered that making eye contact often led to people looking away, and engaging in deeper conversations revealed the warmth and beauty of the Finnish people. This prompted me to explore the historical context behind this behaviour, leading to a fascinating discussion with our shuttle driver. Throughout the episode, I encourage listeners to examine their stories and consider whether these narratives are truly theirs to carry. I emphasize the importance of recognizing and releasing old stories that no longer serve us, allowing space for new possibilities and growth. To support listeners in their journey of self-discovery and story transformation, I introduce my program, "The Stories We Tell Ourselves," which offers tools like hypnosis, subliminals, and EFT tapping to help release stuck emotions and reshape personal narratives. HIGHLIGHTS 00:00:00 - Introduction to Finland and Eye Contact 00:01:06 - Cultural Differences in Social Interactions 00:02:50 - Historical Context of Finland's Social Norms 00:04:38 - Conversations with the Shuttle Driver 00:06:56 - Rovaniemi's Unique Architecture and History 00:08:40 - Carrying Stories That Aren't Ours 00:09:54 - Experiencing Finnish Saunas 00:11:10 - Releasing Old Stories and Moving Forward 00:12:02 - Conclusion and Program Promotion Marsha Vanwynsberghe — NLP Storytelling Trainer, OUTSPOKEN NLP Coaching Certification, Author, Speaker, and Podcaster Join the next cohort of OUTSPOKEN NLP Coaching Certification (kick-off in September 2024) HERE Learn more about changing the Stories We Tell Ourselves Digital Program HERE. 767 | Don't Make a Home Where It Was Supposed to Be A Lesson
In this episode, I explore the concept of our thoughts and the subconscious mind, highlighting that we have 60,000 to 80,000 thoughts a day, with a significant portion being negative and repetitive. I recently discussed this concept with a client who was stuck in a loop of past mistakes and regrets. I challenge listeners to consider how much of their day is spent living in the past and ask whether they truly want to create a different future. I emphasize the importance of learning from our past without allowing it to define us or become a place where we dwell. Instead, I encourage finding a space of neutrality where we can process our experiences and make informed decisions moving forward. Throughout the episode, I share personal anecdotes and insights, including a powerful quote from Lisa Nichols about not building a home in the valleys of our past decisions. To create change, it is essential to reflect on our experiences. We must not let them anchor us down. Instead, we should view them as lessons that prepare us for the work we are meant to do in this life. 765 | Are You Willing to Climb the Cringe Ladder
In this episode, I am sharing the concept of the "cringe ladder," a metaphor I recently encountered that perfectly describes the journey we all go through when we start sharing our authentic selves with the world. I reflect on my own experiences, particularly from around 2013 and 2014, when I felt isolated and struggled to connect with others amidst the curated perfection of social media. My journey began with raw and unfiltered Facebook Lives after hot yoga, where I embraced the messiness of being honest and authentic. This episode emphasizes the importance of starting, even when you feel unprepared or unsure of your voice. Learn to embrace your cringe ladders, recognizing that the initial awkwardness is necessary for growth. Throughout the episode, I discuss the significance of messy action and the need to build what I call the "I don't give a shit muscle." This muscle helps us navigate criticism and self-doubt, allowing us to focus on the positive feedback and connections we create. I highlight that confidence is not innate but something we can cultivate through action and experience. The anxiety often stems from unaddressed fear and the importance of moving through that fear to build new beliefs about ourselves. By sharing my journey and lessons, I aim to inspire listeners to celebrate their progress and embrace their authentic selves without judgment. 764 | A Closed Heart Will Not Receive
In this episode, I dive into a topic that has been weighing heavily on my heart: the importance of keeping our hearts open to receive. I share my journey of learning how a closed heart, often shielded by emotional armour, can prevent us from fully experiencing life and connecting with others. To protect ourselves from past hurts, judgments, and fears, we inadvertently block not only negative but also positive emotions. This self-imposed limitation restricts our ability to express our true selves and to be seen by others. I emphasize that when we wear this armour, we are not just protecting ourselves but also missing out on the richness of life and the connections that come from vulnerability. Throughout the episode, I highlight the paradox of being kind-hearted yet closed-hearted. Many people overcompensate for their closed-off feelings by excessively giving excessively to others, which can distract them from their emotional needs. I stress that giving and receiving are two sides of the same coin, and to truly experience the joy of giving, we must also allow ourselves to receive. I share practical strategies for opening our hearts, such as practicing gratitude, self-care, and vulnerability. I encourage listeners to recognize that they are not their thoughts or emotions but rather the observers of these feelings. By normalizing our emotions and allowing ourselves to feel them without judgment, we can dismantle the barriers we've built around our hearts. HIGHLIGHTS 00:00:00 - Introduction to the Heart's Role in Receiving 00:01:00 - The Impact of a Closed Heart 00:02:30 - The Cycle of Emotions and Self-Protection 00:04:00 - The Connection Between Giving and Receiving 00:05:30 - The Challenge of Accepting Compliments 00:07:00 - Practicing the Art of Receiving 00:09:30 - Daily Practices to Open the Heart 00:11:00 - The Importance of Gratitude and Vulnerability 00:12:30 - The Interplay of Masculine and Feminine in Business 00:13:30 - Conclusion: Embracing the Power of Receiving Marsha Vanwynsberghe — NLP Storytelling Trainer, OUTSPOKEN NLP Coaching Certification, Author, Speaker, and Podcaster Join the next cohort of OUTSPOKEN NLP Coaching Certification (kick-off in September 2024) HERE Learn more about changing the Stories We Tell Ourselves Digital Program HERE. 763 | From Trauma to Triumph: A Story of Resilience and Growth with Kristina Gauthier
In this episode, we speak with Spiritual Life Coach Kristina Gauthier. Kristina’s early years were far from picture-perfect; she was born into a family with a colossal amount of trauma on both her mother's and father’s sides. Throughout Kristina’s life, her late mother struggled with her drug addiction, and her dad is a well-known Hell Angel. After years of dating abusive men, struggling with her own drug addiction, and feeling profoundly insecure and unworthy of love or life, she chose to invest in herself and heal. In 2017, Kristina's late sister died of a fentanyl overdose, and that’s when everything shifted for her. Despite where Kristina came from, she chose to lean into her darkness till she found her light and rose above the ashes, making her the first to break the cycle within her lineage. Not only is Kristina the first to break the cycle, but she's now rewriting her lineage by showing up for herself and her late sisters’ two children differently than anyone has done before. Kristina is proof that regardless of what cards you were dealt with when you choose to come home to yourself and heal your trauma, you, too, can turn your life around and create the life you’ve always desired. From losing her mother and sister to taking on the role of a full-time guardian for her niece, Kristina navigated immense challenges with grace and determination. She highlighted the importance of setting boundaries, prioritizing self-care, and choosing healing over destructive coping mechanisms. Kristina's journey to sobriety and self-empowerment was a central theme in the episode, showcasing her unwavering commitment to personal growth and transformation. She shared her breathwork practices, Kundalini meditation, and journaling as tools for regulating her emotions and maintaining inner peace. 762 | Who Are You Going to Be Today?
In today's episode, we dive deep into the question, "Who will you be today?" This episode was inspired by a journal prompt that made me pause and reflect on how we often focus on who we want to be when everything is going smoothly, but what about when things aren't going great? Who do you want to be when things are not going smoothly, when they are not in flow or alignment, and when it feels like it's challenge after challenge? I've learned to navigate those moments by asking myself who I want to be in those difficult times. It's about shifting our perspective from blaming others or ourselves to focusing on what we can control and how we can show up as our best selves. I challenge the idea of only choosing things within alignment and share how misalignment has taught me valuable lessons about what I truly want and need. I also emphasize recognizing our worthiness regardless of external circumstances, whether we thrive or face obstacles. Throughout the episode, I encourage listeners to ask themselves, "Who are you going to be today?" and to give themselves grace, compassion, and permission to ask for help when needed. It's about embracing the journey of growth, learning from challenges, and showing up as the best version of ourselves no matter what life throws our way. 761 | What If It Is All Possible
In this podcast episode, I dive into the transformative power of questioning our thoughts and beliefs. I emphasize that the quality of our lives is primarily determined by the questions we ask ourselves. Instead of succumbing to negative statements like "Why is this happening to me?" or "This is not fair," I encourage listeners to shift their mindset by asking empowering questions, such as "What if it's all possible?" I share a personal story about my recent trip to Finland, where my husband competed in the World Olympic Lifting Championships and earned a silver medal. This experience was filled with uncertainty and challenges even to get there. I repeatedly reminded myself that it would all work out in the most incredible way possible. This mindset shift allowed me to focus on the potential for success rather than the fear of failure. Throughout the episode, I discuss how our subconscious minds are wired to look for what could go wrong, especially when we embark on new ventures. I illustrate this with examples, such as the fears arising before speaking in public or sharing vulnerable content online. I emphasize the importance of countering these fears with positive possibilities, asking ourselves, "What if it goes incredibly well?" Our minds need repetition to seek out evidence of success rather than failure. It is so important to surround ourselves with proof that our dreams are attainable. 756 | How Is Shame Blocking You?
Welcome back to the show! In this episode, we delved deep into the topic of shame and its profound impact on our growth in life and business. We explored how shame, often overlooked and suppressed, can manifest as a gremlin within us, affecting our self-perception and identity. Shame, distinguished from guilt, is centred on the belief that "I am bad" rather than "I did something bad." This distinction is crucial as attaching "I am" to negative beliefs can lead to a deep-rooted sense of unworthiness and flaw within ourselves. We discussed how shame thrives on secrecy, silence, and judgment, perpetuating a cycle of self-criticism and isolation. Drawing from personal experiences and working with high-performing women in business, we highlighted the insidious nature of shame, even in the face of external success. Despite their achievements, these women grappled with underlying shame stories that threatened their sense of worthiness and competence. We emphasized the transformative power of vulnerability in releasing shame. By giving voice to our shame stories, we can break free from its grip and foster connection and empathy. Through practices like subconscious reprogramming, EFT tapping, and hypnosis, we can rewrite limiting beliefs and empower ourselves to embrace vulnerability as a superpower. 753 | Can You Hold a Belief About Abundance?
Welcome back to the show! In this episode, I explore abundance and the belief systems surrounding it. I also share my journey of shifting my mindset from scarcity to abundance, particularly in financial abundance. I reflect on a time when I believed that abundance was only about money and how this limited belief system led me to overwork and burnout in my service-based business. Despite working tirelessly, I felt stuck in a cycle of lack and struggled to see abundance in other areas of my life. I share a transformative practice of writing a letter to money, treating it as a friend, to shift my perspective and cultivate a healthier relationship with finances. Throughout the episode, I emphasize the power of gratitude and mindset in attracting abundance. 752 | How EFT Can Help You
In this episode, I dive deep into the concept of why EFT tapping works, explore the intricate workings of our subconscious mind and how EFT tapping can help us reprogram our thoughts and emotions. As children, we absorb information through our senses, processing 2.3 million bytes of data per second. However, our brains can only handle 126 bits of information, leading to a filtering process where we distort, delete, or generalize information to make sense of it. This filtering process can lead to the internalization of negative emotions and perceptions, disrupting our body's energy system. EFT tapping, or the Emotional Freedom Technique, offers a solution by tapping on energy meridians to balance out these disruptions and rewire our subconscious patterns. During the tapping process, we speak into the energy of the problem, acknowledging and accepting our current emotions before shifting towards a desired state. By tapping on specific points on the body and reciting scripts, we create a psychological reversal, changing the polarity of our energy systems. EFT tapping aims to shift our subconscious programming, allowing us to respond differently to life's challenges. By reprogramming our thoughts and beliefs at the subconscious level, we can break free from old patterns and embrace a more empowered way of living. 750 | How Hard Can You Trust?
Welcome back to the show! As we enter September, a time of reflection and transition, I invite you to join me in exploring the themes of self-trust and personal leadership. This episode dives into the importance of trusting in our path, actions, and intuition, especially during challenging times when trust may seem elusive. I emphasize that trust is not just about sitting back and waiting for things to happen; it requires active engagement and movement. We can cultivate a stronger sense of self-trust by trusting the seeds we've planted, past efforts, and our ability to show up for ourselves and our vision. Throughout the episode, I highlight the key elements of trust: competency, consistency, integrity, and compassion. These qualities apply to our relationships with others and serve as a foundation for building trust within ourselves. I stress the importance of starting with self-trust before extending it to external relationships. 749: What You Are Avoiding, You Are Keeping Alive
In this episode, I wanted to share thoughts on avoidance, why you might be avoiding something, and how you can shift through that stuck emotion. In this episode, we discuss: 1) Avoidance is a way to make you feel in control, to avoid rejection or to avoid discomfort. Avoidance behaviour is a way to cope with uncomfortable thoughts or feelings. Many people rely on avoidance as a coping mechanism, which can seem like the easier path compared to confrontation — but avoidance can be harmful in the long run, leading to more fear, anxiety, and unhealthy habits 2) Your subconscious mind prefers and likes safety; in fact, it approves of feeling in control or safe. We tend to think and overthink, and we have to change the pattern of how we approach something. Anchor in the feelings of safety, feeling safe regardless of whether it is all working or nothing is working. Then, change the pattern before doing what you are avoiding, anchor the wins, and build the blocks to see your wins. Then, you change the pattern of avoidance permanently. By aligning the energy in a space, individuals can create a more harmonious environment that supports their well-being. 747 | What Does Fear Mean About You?
In this episode, I wanted to share thoughts on fear, what fear is, what it is trying to do, and how to change your relationship with fear so that it doesn’t have to hold you back in your life. Fear is a primal response that tries to keep you safe and protected, exactly what your subconscious mind is built to do. “Fear can have a voice, it doesn’t get a vote.” by Elizabeth Gilbert. Stop trying to rid yourself of fear; it doesn’t go away; you build a better relationship with it. Fear can keep you safe; it has well-meaning intentions, yet it doesn’t get the deciding vote or the final decisions. In today’s episode, we discuss: 1) Fear can be a compass, a guiding light, and a curiosity about next-step decisions, all while not being the deciding factor for what you say yes and no to, etc. Fear is your subconscious mind trying to keep you safe, small, and protected. 2) When you give fear a voice, recognize it is there, and build a better relationship with it, all while not letting it dictate your future or be the brick wall that stops you, you will start believing in yourself more and taking the action steps necessary to prepare for the next opportunities that you are ready for. 3) The only way to release the fear is by feeling the pain and emotions that have become attached to the belief and fear. By feeling the emotions you are releasing the energy of the fear from your body. Also the tools of hypnosis, subliminals, EFT Tapping, FLIP The Script timeline work, relaxation techniques, somatic release, exercise, meditation, can help you release the hold of fear in and on your body. In this episode, I wanted to share thoughts on your daily circumstances, which are dictating your day. Who are you when everything is going right and when it feels like nothing is going right? This will all come down to knowing your intentions and your values and living by them. In this episode, we discuss: 1) Intentions, values, self-leadership and how we can lead ourselves when it feels like nothing is going smoothly. 2) Here are some tips on how you can rise above when it feels like things are not going right, when challenges are high when things don’t make sense, when your results aren’t great, or they don’t make sense, and how you can shift it to be your most prosperous day ever. 744 | The Intense Hold of Anger and Sadness
In this episode, I wanted to share some insight into emotions in our bodies and how they continue to contribute to the stories we tell ourselves. Our emotions can put us on a roller coaster daily; if we haven’t been taught how to feel them, recognize and process them if we have also been told to be afraid of them, we don’t know what to do with them. Then those unknown emotions become scary and unknown, and our subconscious mind deems unknown and unfamiliar as unsafe, so we avoid them at all costs. “The mind is a superb instrument if used rightly. Used wrongly, however, it becomes very destructive. To put it more accurately, it is not so much that you use your mind wrongly — you usually don’t use it at all. It uses you. This is the disease. You believe that you are your mind. This is the delusion. The instrument has taken you over.” ~Eckart Tolle HIGHLIGHTS: 00:00:00 - Introduction to Emotions and Stories 00:05:30 - The Power of Subconscious Reprogramming 00:09:51 - Understanding Anger and Its Impact 00:14:48 - The Connection Between Anger and Sadness 00:17:29 - Importance of Self-Leadership and Emotional Release Marsha Vanwynsberghe — NLP Storytelling Trainer, OUTSPOKEN NLP Coaching Certification, Author, Speaker, and Podcaster Join the next cohort of OUTSPOKEN NLP Coaching Certification (kick-off in September 2024) HERE Learn more about changing the Stories We Tell Ourselves Digital Program HERE. 743 | What To Do When it Feels Like Life Is Pushing You
In this episode, I wanted to share thoughts on what to do when life feels like pushing you or putting pressure on you and how to handle failure or setbacks because of it. First off, I am not a huge fan of the word failure because we are never failing, and there is no such thing as failure, only feedback. In this episode, we discuss: 1) How do you keep lif’ing when it feels like life is really hard? Do you meet it with a ton of resistance, pushback and fighting, which only decreases your ability to meet yourself with compassion or grace? 2) Remember that everything is data; everything is teaching us something, and we decide the meaning of it all. How can you ask different questions, get curious, ask what you are here to learn, and how might you be being asked to do more than rest but actually to restore and replenish yourself and your needs? 741 | This is What Is Creating Your Identity
In this episode, I wanted to share some thoughts on the word identity, what it means and how we create it daily. On a personal level, identity often refers to a person's sense of self, meaning how they view themselves compared to others. Identity encompasses the values people hold, which dictate the choices they make. It is who you are and how you see yourself. In this episode, we discuss: 1) Your identity is not based on whether you are motivated, disciplined, or deserving. Your identity is who you are, what you do, and what you have accomplished. Changing your identity starts with your habits, what you think and say to yourself, and the stories you tell yourself. 740 | What is Actually Blocking You From Using Your Voice
In this episode, I wanted to share some thoughts on what is actually blocking you from finding, unlocking and using your OUTSPOKEN voice. In this episode I am sharing 10 tips of how to unlock and use your voice and some of the things that are holding you back might not be what you think. In this episode, we discuss: 1) It requires getting quiet and muting all other things that are distractions. Getting stuck in a comparison loop of how you think your voice should sound, what you should say etc, will distract you from finding your authentic voice. This is what the mute button is for, to help you find your voice. 2) You can’t “consciously” change something that you don’t subconsciously believe is possible. Those limiting beliefs can be changed at the root and seen as a superpower when you unpack them and understand them. Your subconscious mind was only ever trying to keep you safe and protected. 3) You will never be ready to start, because starting anything is new and scary and definitely “unfamiliar” and our subconscious mind will always choose the safe/familiar discomfort it knows vs the discomfort it doesn’t know OUTSPOKEN https://www.marshavanw.com/outspoken2023 The Stories We Tell Ourselves (on presale) https://www.marshavanw.com/StoriesWeTellOurselves Marsha Vanwynsberghe — NLP Storytelling Trainer, Author, Speaker, and Podcaster Marsha is the 6-time Bestselling Author of “When She Stopped Asking Why”. 738 | How Fast Can You Get Back to Neutral
In this episode, I wanted to share some thoughts on getting back to neutral. Being neutral is not being numb to your emotions. It is seeing and feeling your emotions and not making them mean something about you. Here are a couple of things that I do to support myself in getting back to neutral faster. In this episode, we discuss: 1) Nervous system regulation, detaching from the outcome and learning to be and feel safe in contraction and expansion have been a game changer for me in life and business this year. 2) Feel the feeling for a bit, without judgment. Look closely at the feeling, but don't act on it. Can you zoom back from the feeling to see it more clearly? In this episode, I wanted to share some thoughts on a quote I heard from Brendon Bouchard a year ago. Its true meaning for me didn’t hit until recently: “You are in training for this life. You will always fall to the level of your training, not your expectations.” In this episode, we discuss: 1) How can you raise the floor of your training so that you can give yourself a fighting chance so that when life’s at you, you only have a small stumble and not be knocked completely off your game? Spiritually, physically, emotionally, nervous system support, and all of the above to give yourself a fighting chance by leading yourself first. 2) How can you trade your expectations in for your standards? What standards do you want to set for your life, and how can you live by them no matter what?
