Paul Hendy is a script-writer, novelist, director, producer and filmmaker. In his early career, he was a TV presenter hosting the BAFTA nominated Dear Mr Barker, Don’t Try This at Home with Davina McCall, The Disney Club and Wheel of Fortune. He was a regular reporter on ITV’s This Morning and hosted ‘Stash the Cash’. Georgina Hayden is a cook, food writer and stylist. She writes for publications such as The Telegraph, Delicious Magazine and Observer Food Monthly, and in 2021 she won the Fortnum & Mason Best Cookery Writer Award for her work in Waitrose Food magazine. She has appeared on Radio 4’s Woman’s Hour, and regularly appears on This Morning, Sunday Brunch Saturday Kitchen. Georgina worked for Jamie Oliver’s food team for 12 years where she did everything from styling, developing and writing recipes for books and TV. Her first book, Stirring Slowly, was published in 2016, followed by the book about the food of her Cypriot family, Taverna, in 2019. Carol Drinkwater is a British actress and best-selling author. Probably best known for playing Helen Herriot in the television adaptation of All Creatures Great and Small, which led to her receiving the Variety Club Television Personality of the Year award in 1985. She was a member of the National Theatre Company under the leadership of Laurence Olivier and won a Critics' Circle Best Screen Actress award for her role in the feature film Father. She’s also been in Stanley Kubrick's A Clockwork Orange, Chocky, The Sweeney, Queen Kong, The Shout and the film adaptation of Beryl Bainbridge's novel An Awfully Big Adventure starring Hugh Grant and Alan Rickman. Astrophysicist Professor Chris Lintott is the primary presenter of the BBC’s The Sky at Night, having previously been co-presenter with Patrick Moore until Moore's death in 2012. He co-authored Bang! – The Complete History of the Universe and The Cosmic Tourist with Patrick Moore and Queen guitarist and astrophysicist Brian May. He has recently been appointed the 39th Professor of Astronomy at Gresham College in London which was founded in 1597. At the same time Chris is Professor of Astrophysics at the University of Oxford and a Research Fellow at New College. Nick Newman is Ian Hislop’s writing partner and the award winning Sunday Times cartoonist. He has worked for Private Eye since 1981 and has been the cartoonist for The Sunday Times since 1989. He was The Cartoon Art Trust’s Cartoonist of the Year in 1997, 1998, 2005 and 2016 and he won the Sports Journalists’ Association’s Cartoonist of the Year award in 2005, 2007 and 2009. Nick’s scriptwriting career with Ian Hislop includes Spitting Image (from 1984-89), Dawn French’s Murder Most Horrid, The Harry Enfield Show (with the creation of Tim Nice-But-Dim), the BBC1 film Gobble and the sitcom My Dad’s the Prime Minister. In 2008 their film A Bunch of Amateurs starring Burt Reynolds was chosen for the Royal Film Performance, before being adapted for the stage. She was also on television and on film in One Foot In The Grave, KYTV, City Lights, Only Fools and Horses, Inspector Morse, Hale and Pace, Doctor Who, The Steal, All About Me, Days Like These, Sometime Never, Space Vets and The Best of Rory Bremner. Luke Kempner is currently staring in Les Misérables in the West End playing Monsieur Thenardier but Luke is also well known for being a comedian and impressionist at the top of his game. Tom Shakespeare CBE is Professor of Disability Research at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine and was the 2020 Swarthmore Lecturer. Tom has achondroplasia and uses a wheelchair. He is a social scientist and bioethicist who has worked particularly on disability and on genetics. His books include Disability Rights and Wrongs, Genetic Politics, and Disability – the Basics. Tom has presented programmes and documentaries on BBC Radio and has written for publications including The Guardian and The Lancet, alongside talking to academic, professional and lay audiences around the world. In July 2018 Shakespeare was elected a Fellow of the British Academy. He has been a stand-up comedian, an actor, a dancer, and an artist. Professor Sophie Scott is a neuroscientist and the Director of the Institute for Cognitive Neuroscience. Her research investigates the cognitive neuroscience of voices, speech and laughter, particularly speech perception, production, vocal emotions and human communication Sophie started her research career in Cambridge at the Medical Research Council (MRC) Cognition and Brain Sciences Unit She was awarded a Wellcome Trust Fellowship in 2001 and has been funded by them since. As of 2017 she holds a Wellcome Trust Senior Fellowship. She is a member of the British Psychological Society, the Society for Neuroscience, the Cognitive Neuroscience Society, and the Experimental Psychology Society. She’s a Fellow of the British Academy. Sophie is known for her public engagement work, including performing standup comedy. She’s been a panel guest several times on BBC Radio 4 programme The Infinite Monkey Cage and appeared on the BBC TV series Horizon, The Science of Laughter with Jimmy Carr. Sophie presented the Royal Institution Christmas Lectures in 2017 entitled The Language of Life which explored the topic of communication. Larry Dann is a British actor best known for his roles in the Carry On... Series and for appearing as Sergeant Alec Peters in over 200 episodes of The Bill. His first appearance on screen was in Adam and Evelyn at age 5. Afterward, he would appear in Carry On Teacher, Trouble in Store and The Bulldog Breed. He continued appearing in films as he grew up, appearing in What a Crazy World, All Neat in Black Stockings, The Body Stealers and Before Winter Comes and rejoined the Carry On... Series with small roles in Carry On Behind and Carry On England before playing the young romantic lead in Carry On Emmannuelle. He joined the Theatre Workshop in 1962 and appeared in numerous plays directed by Joan Littlewood including Oh, What a Lovely War! in London, Paris and New York. Ricky Sim is a lawyer-turned-comedian originally from Kuala Lumpur and currently living in New York City. As a comedy writer, Ricky was selected to be the 2021 recipient of The PIT/Saturday Night Live (SNL) Scholarship. Rob Auton is a stand-up comedian and writer who has written seven five star rated Edinburgh fringe shows. He has performed his unique brand of comedy on The Russell Howard Hour and on Rob Delaney’s Stand Up Central. Rob released his book I Strongly Believe in Incredible Things with Harper Collins in 2021 to critical acclaim and has had three collections of writing and illustrations published by Burning Eye books and has had his poetry turned into short films and shown on Channel 4. As an actor he’s been in ITV’s Cold Feet, The End of The F***ing World on Netflix/Channel 4 and Miracle Workers on TBS. Rob also starred in and co-wrote the short film The Peamaster which was nominated for best short film at the Milan Film Festival. Rob was a finalist for The Arts Foundation Spoken Word Award and a winner of a Three Weeks Editors Award.
