¡Nuestro tema destacado esta semana es la salud del corazón! La American Heart Association y el patrocinador Genentech donaron recientemente 7 kits de reanimación cardiopulmonar para usar en nuestras escuelas secundarias. Estos kits incluyen 10 maniquíes inflables Mini Anne y 10 simuladores de desfibriladores externos automatizados para entrenamiento, entre otros materiales. El American Heart Association y Genentech también planificaron un evento inaugural en la Escuela Secundaria Evergreen el 25 y 26 de noviembre, donde enseñaron a los estudiantes de 8vo grado la reanimación cardiopulmonar usando solo las manos. En el nivel de la escuela preparatoria, Providence ha regresado para llevar a cabo sus exámenes gratuitos PlaySmart Youth Heart  que incluyen un electrocardiograma, lectura de presión arterial y más para descartar defectos cardíacos peligrosos. Our featured topic this week is heart health! The American Heart Association and sponsor Genentech recently donated 7 “CPR in Schools” kits for use in our secondary schools. These include 10 Mini Anne inflatable manikins and 10 automated external defibrillator training simulators, among other materials. The donors also held a kick-off event at Evergreen Middle School on November 25th and 26th where they taught hands-only CPR to 8th graders. At the high school level, Providence returned to conduct their free PlaySmart Youth Heart Screenings, which include an electrocardiogram or EKG, blood pressure reading, and more to rule out dangerous heart defects.
