Regular Guy Friday Ep. 31: Why Half Measures Will ALWAYS Hold You Back
Hey Kweenz, we fooled em again - made it to another edition of Regular Guy Friday. If there was one thing that could be attributed to Maria's success it was THIS philosophy. When you need advice, especially with regards to your dreams and careers, friends may be the worst to turn to and the same goes for parents. We may be judged not by what we did to help others, but what we didn't do when we could have. When do you give advice and to whom? The right advice could keep you from being poisoned or stabbed. Rocky tried to give advice (and failed). 'Screw you, Creepo.' Walter White from 'Breaking Bad' heard advice and listened. 'No more half measures, Walter.' Whether seeking fulfillment in relationships or career, half measures will always hold you back. Summa isn't officially ended. There's still time to inform us how one can Slay for a Sleigh. Bye Betches. #kweenz #krisp #RGF #SaveRgf

Gabby is always reminding me that my power lies within myself, and she can do the same thing for you. What I love about Gabby is her willingness to share her own struggles, experiences, and growth to demonstrate her work in action, and you'll leave this interview with TONS of practical takeaway to do the exact same thing!!

Feeling jealous or envious? Watch this.
In today’s show, Maria discusses the idea that envy can actually be used as a drive for good. Shauna Niquest has also talked about this on the show...let your jealousies, and what you are jealous of in others, help guide you to what YOU want to really do or who you want to really be. We also talk about the importance of an envy list and how you can use it to attain the qualities you wish you possessed. And lastly, Maria forces us to ask the hard question, how much work are you willing to put in to achieve your goals.

Regular Guy Friday Ep. 30: How Bottoming Out Leads To Breakthroughs & Transformation You Desire
Hey Regular People, TGIRGF ! Finding out who you are is not about what you do (or had to do) to survive. When people you know need help, for your sake (and theirs), sometimes it's not about giving money or saving the day, it's about being present. Bottoming out and extreme pain is no fun but can lead to the breakthroughs and transformation you desire. Heavenly hells prevent bottoming out but heavenly hell is still hell. What does WCS stand for? Hint: it will help you make your best life decisions! Simplify and detach to reduce fear and make even better decisions. You can't build a house on sand but you can go back to live away, at college, after 40. Just ask Kev. You don't have to be up on the trends to be cool but you can attend your 10 year high school reunion with a date dressed like Batman. Just ask Kels. Ava Max is opening for Maroon Five and even though we know her make up artist, whether she lives the Kween-life that she sings about remains unclear. Last weekend of summa so get ready for the holidays and to Slay for a Sleigh. Can someone PLEASE tell us what slaying for a sleigh is already??? Bye Betches. Stay #krisp.
PS Happy 30TH EP!!!!!!

Regular Guy Friday Ep. 29: How the Universe Tests Us During Times of Transition
Regular Guys and Gals, we fooled em again and made it through another week. When you think everything is war, everything will be a war. Sometimes you need to go to war and when you do, it's where your focus must go. When you ask the universe for answers in key moments of life transition, you'll get them. But beware! The universe's initial answers may be a means to test you: to see if you're truly ready to change. There are not bad days, just bad moments. Can we really change who we are? Ida Kendall says speaking from your greatest place of inadequacy and where you're most vulnerable will cut through years of self-defense, survival constructs that prevent fulfillment. Tony Robbins says the Dickens process, identifying three limiting life beliefs and the negative consequences they've produced and replacing them with three empowering beliefs will create fulfillment. Kels and Kev say summer may almost be over BUT Christmas is around the corner. ADD moment #1: can the movie Love Actually really be compared to It's a Wonderful Life. A Regular Guy Christmas podcast could have the answers. ADD MOMENT #2: We still plan on holding our 'Slay for a Sleigh' contest. Still no idea what the contest is BUT who the F doesn't want to Sleigh for a Sleigh? Bye Betches.

Regular Guy Friday Ep. 28: How to Reveal If Someone is Toxic!?
Hay Kweenz, we fooled 'em again! We made it through another week for another edition of Regular Guy Friday. If you have only a hammer in your tool box, then everything becomes a nail. Traumas are opportunities. People with talent AND consciousness will always question themselves. And people often can't see you beyond what they see in themselves. Narcissists believe the world owes them, says Lisa Romano. Kweenz are spelled with a K, says Astrid Brookes. Speaking of Kweenz, Kev and Kels have a bestie who works for Ava Max – whaaaaat??!!! PYE stands for Protect Your Energy and we must protect ours from toxic people. And speaking of toxic people, Maria thinks Kev's advice to Kelsey is toxic and so is he. Regular Guy Friday Ep. 27: Purpose vs. Goals, Karma vs. Intention & Riding the Kiddy Roller Coaster
Hay Kweenz, Regular Guys and Girls, we fooled 'em again! We made it to another edition of Regular Guy Friday! Jury Duty is your duty to serve that also serves YOU. Kelsey planned to put the system on trial but the juror next to her was an energy vampire. Pretending to be on the phone, reading a book or working on a deadline humanely repels energy vampires. Brian Mahan says to work toward purpose not goals. If Janis Joplin did the former she may still be here. New centuries generally begin in year 20 and this one redefines success - lets have empathy for those grieving the loss of the 20th century. There is meaning and messages in so many signs that we ignore. There are many ways to run from a problem and sometimes when you do you end up with a broken foot. Use shame as a tool not as a weapon. Dianne Gray reminded us that energy cant be created or destroyed, that love is energy and that therefore loved ones remain with us always - unless you drink 3 glasses of wine, Sanjeev taught us that karma is tied to intentions, not just actions. And though some fans have written Apple Podcasts to 'Save RGF', one fan called to cut the show and the opening song. #NotaKween. But then Kev agrees and admits he's #NotaKween, either. Regular Guy Friday Ep. 26: Why the Universe Has You and Shame Should Not, So Long As.....
Hay Kweenz, Regular Guys and Girls, we fooled 'em again! We made it to another edition of Regular Guy Friday! Life is happening for you, not to you, and the universe has you always. Nature walks will help raise awareness to see it but walking alone in LA at night may not be the best idea, Kelsey! Lacking awareness, being self involved, chasing rainbows, focusing on what the universe isn't giving you and medicating is a recipe for mediocrity (and medicating doesn't just come in the form of alcohol or drugs). Then comes the shame which can elevate or destroy you. How we view the past is rarely accurate, making the allowance of shame and guilt to destroy us even more pointless. Kelsey knows what the kids mean then they ask 'who's got the aux? ' While Kev thinks it's all chugey. We wonder where Kelsey's friend Tom from Nordstrom is at with all of the above. And if you're really cool, you don't call your friends 'betches', you call them 'B's.' Bye B's.

Regular Guy Friday Ep. 25: How Overindulgence Leads to Rage and Getting Less Gives You More...
Hay Kweenz, Regular Guys and Girls, we fooled 'em again! We made it to another edition of Regular Guy Friday! Overindulgence leads to rage and whether it's mindless rage or focused rage, it's still rage. When it comes to projects and jobs: 1) less people means more productivity - and more happiness. 2) comfort zones may be comfy but will age you fast 3) adapt to new situations and learn new skills - new skills come from young, open minds. Whether in a relationship or a divorce, eye the big picture and keep your ego out of it. All Setbacks are Set-Ups as long as..... The 21st century is changing negotiation techniques - and why it's better to get a little less than you think you deserve. If we got everything we wanted in life, we would be married to our elementary school crushes - or in Kelsey's case, a heroin addict. Finishing schools may be a thing of the past, but life schools are more necessary than ever. Who else will teach Kelsey's dates that they serve tacos on Taco Tuesdays? Whether it's Simone Biles at the Olympics, you or someone you love, it's better to bend than break, unless you're Joe Frazier in Manilla. Bye Betches.

Regular Guy Friday Ep. 24: The Illusion of Affirmation without Discipline while Making Life Maps AND Cable Christmas Movies
Hay Kweenz, Regular Guys and Girls, we fooled 'em again! We made it to another edition of Regular Guy Friday. Affirmation without discipline is the beginning of illusion...WHAT!? Culture is a direct result of what you'll tolerate. Summer downtime is for fun but also for planning. And as far as planning goes, you may have a business plan and maybe a life plan, too. Forget them! It's business and life MAPS that yield results and success. Putting your companion animal down is never easy but remember their brief time here should teach us something.
Making Cable TV Christmas Movies isn't easy either, especially when you're paired in a scene next to a Christmas Movie Extra Vampire. That time when Vampires go from blood suckers to comedy gold. Most of us can never be Kweenz. Kels came close. Is #KweenAdjacent a thing? If so, it's totally #krisp. Can Kels survive LA without her Regular Guy partner, Kev? Something tells us her old coworker, Tom from Nordstrom, isn't doing the job...what do you guys think?? Bye Betches.

Dr. Amen discusses the "dragons" that breathe fire into our past traumas, and how we can fight those dragons to find peace, even though we're facing the most challenging chapter of our current century.
Dr. Amen also gives a list of amazing natural remedies for depression like Omega-3, saffron, and lavender, which studies have proven can act as natural anti-depressants.

Regular Guy Friday Ep. 23: Seeking Progress Over Perfection & Why Your Best Self Includes Your Worst Self
Hay Kweenz, Regular Guys and Girls, we fooled 'em again! We made it to another edition of Regular Guy Friday. Another lock down may come just in time for Christmas. And as far as Christmas goes, forget Scrooge, Tiny Tim and Bob Crachet, It was Fezziwig who had it right all along. Everything you do in your day must somehow serve your dream with this ONE exception. Dreams come true, fantasies don't. Trinkets may be shiny BUT they're holding you back. Your greatest strength can also be your greatest weakness. Seek progress over perfection. Your perfect self is NOT your best self. Your best self are all these parts - and those parts will surprise and even relieve you. Knowledge is only potential power. Execution IS power while complexity is the enemy of execution. When it comes to health care it's east meets west that's best. We judge others negatively based on our own shortcomings. Kev doesn't have the time to meet Kelsey's Nordstrom coworker friend Tom but will make time to organize her closet. Maybe that will change when Regular Guy Friday ends after 25 shows to complete a box set. Pop champagne this weekend, while you still can. Bye Betches.

The problems when making decisions out of panic, how stress is really fear masked and practices to escape that state of mind also came up. Maria shares the value of morning rituals in curbing stress and how everyday is an opportunity to re-calibrate your attraction. She reminds us that we are magnets: whatever we feel is what we will attract. Lastly, Keven and Maria discuss the power of neutrality vs. positivity which mindset successful thought leaders practice. What magic REALLY happens when belief meets desire. Whether navigating post pandemic stressful changes or even daily obstacles, this is a valuable episode.

301. Stanford Psychologist Dr. Kelly McGonigal on Why Stress Is Good For You and How Stress Can Make You Stronger
Originally Aired: August 26, 2020
You've probably been told by many smart people that stress is harmful for your body, but get ready to have your mind blown. Studies show that the BELIEF that stress is harmful is far more toxic than the actual stress itself.
Dr. Kelly McGonigal will fundamentally change your entire relationship to stress through her incredible teachings. She's grown a massive following (including O Magazine's FIRST Visionary Award), because of her powerful advocacy of MINDSET shifts around stress.
Kelly says that stress is simply: "what arises in your brain and in your body when something that you care about is at stake." By ingraining this belief system into our everyday life, we'll create new neural pathways that will actually create a "biology of courage" in our bodies when we face stressful moments.
And don't even get me STARTED on Kelly's research on movement and exercise. She highlights new studies that show us that our muscles are our own pharmacies that produce natural anti-depressants when we exercise. Talk about inspiring!
I know this episode can change lives, and I'd LOVE for you to share it with someone who needs this message. Check out the full show on YouTube, and make sure you subscribe when you land there!

299. Nikki Glaser on The Power of Saying No, Dating, and Her New-Found Relationship With Herself
Originally Aired: July 29, 2020
I didn't think I could love the always hilarious @NikkiGlaser more, but after my amazing conversation with her today, I do. I was thrilled to experience a different side of Nikki, where she opened up about everything from considering a permanent move to St. Louis, to her relationship with herself and it affecting other relationships. We talked stand-up, hosting @jimmykimmellive in quarantine, dating, and I prescribed her some Better Together episodes she has to listen to.
As a fellow type-A in this business, we connected on a LOT of levels. How do we strike that perfect balance between work, love, and happiness? Are we entitled to saying no when presented with huge opportunities? I applaud Nikki's openness and vulnerability here, and I'm grateful for the laughs that came along the way!

Regular Guy Friday Ep. 22: The Mini Miracles + Mini Monsters Around Us
Hey Kweenz, Regular Guys and Gals, we fooled em again - we made it through another week and to another Regular Guy Friday. Kelsey is back from Seattle and our duo is reunited in LA. Our loved ones who have passed on are always around us, sending us messages - we just need to be open to receiving them as Maria learned. Narcissism continues to rise, in all generations. Why our generation is responsible, what we can do to curb the tide and how important it is to do so. We are here to help one another, learn from mistakes and have a few laughs. We need to write it because Kev forgot to say it. Luckily, he and Kelsey remembered to say 'Bey Betches.' Bye Betches. ;)

298. How To Be Okay with Disappointing Others And Why It Will Help You Live The Life You Want
Originally Aired: October 6, 2020
What's it going to take for you to FINALLY live the life you want to live?
For me it was a brain tumor. For @ShaunaNiequest, it was the painful realization that her stress, exhaustion, and overwhelm had turned into nothing: complete numbness.
But wasn't Shauna was living her dream..? Multiple #NYT bestselling author, frequently booked international lecturer, and celebrated thought leader?
Despite the success, she realized that her inability to be present with the people she truly loved the most - her husband and her children - was the final straw. As she says in her bestseller #PresentOverPerfect: "It's very hard to be loved and connected to the people in your home when you're always bringing them your most exhausted self and resenting the fact that the scraps you're giving them aren't cutting it.”
Shauna's decision to choose presence over perfection wasn't an easy one; as she mentions in the interview, saying yes to some people means saying no to others. But if we're guaranteed to disappoint people, shouldn't we make those people the least important people, rather than our closest loved ones? In today's beautiful convo, Shauna and I discuss how to make those decisions as we inevitably disappoint certain people in our lives so we can honor those we love the most.
