Are You Living The Life Of Mrs (or Mr) Overdo It?
Jaci Finneman is a natural giver, fixer, and doer. Doing everything for everyone else, thinking she was helping until she learned she wasn’t. And in a moment of feeling slapped in the face, (twice), she opted to look at herself instead of being angry at the messengers. When she did that, she also slowed down enough to notice the signs, and that changed her life. Whether you are a Mr or Mrs Overdo it or not, tune in to this episode for inspiration from Jaci’s story and how you too can slow down, follow the signs, and be guided to your purpose. Instead of starting out 2022 with a long to-do list of what you “think” you should do, I encourage you to do the opposite, slow down, and be guided to what unfolds for you instead! How’s that working for you?Being a natural do-er and helper, always on the go, saying “yes” to every person, project, or request that comes your way CAN be fulfilling; UNTIL it’s not. Eventually, some of us find ourselves accidentally taking on more work than we are able to complete and offering more help than we have to give. What starts out as good intention can turn into a burden and just another task we add to our “to-do” list. We start to think, “How did this happen? Why did I say yes”? Meet Jaci Finneman. Jaci energetically volunteered for projects, helped others in their work or home life, and created ways to help even when others didn’t ask for or want the help. For years she overbooked her schedule to assist others, even accepting promotions at work that she didn’t want. Eventually, Jaci’s willingness to help and her “Mrs. Over-Do-It” personality caught up with her. Her cup was empty, yet she was still “giving”. She started to feel taken advantage of and became resentful. As a natural helper, Jaci truly feels best when she is helping others and making a difference especially for people who are misunderstood or not acknowledged. She now understands that in order to help others she must first fill her own cup.In 2013 she left her 20-year career as a Family Counselor to start Hello World and became a Parenting Coach. She created No-Problem Parenting a program that helps parents become the confident leader our kids crave them to be. Jaci’s story aims to realistically INSPIRE natural givers, helpers, and fellow Mrs. Over-Do-It’s to; 1) be STILL in a busy world – and take care of yourself first2) NOTICE the...
