It’s week 3 and we're reading chapters 15-21 of A Touch of Ruin by Scarlett St. Clair. This week, we see Persephone and Hades have a brief moment of reconciliation but for the most part they have the worst communication of all time. Persephone makes a deal with a devil (not quite - just Apollo) to save Lexa and has to act on the deal with not so great results. Best part of this week? Apollo goes to a club that's in the shape of a giant phallus......lolol

It’s week 2 reading chapters 7-14 of A Touch of Ruin by Scarlett St. Clair. This week Persephone deals with the fallout of Lexa's accident and rallies everything she has to save her friend. Her and Hades are still on the outs and Persephone doesn't do much to make it better. We also get frustrated with the lack of communication amongst all involved parties and question why janitors have lunch on roofs?

It's time for a new book with A Touch of Ruin by Scarlett St. Clair. This week we're reading chapters 1-7. We come back to Persephone as she tries to navigate her new relationship with Hades, while also trying to manage her mortal life in the Upperworld. She practices magic with Hecate, has lunch with Lexa, and takes extremely long lunch breaks. Also.....her and Hades REFUSE to communicate which causes all sorts of shenanigans!

This is our last week with Rebecca Yarros' book Fourth Wing. We're reading chapters 30-39 this week. In our last episode with this book Violet and Xaden get hot and heavy more than once! Xaden also plays hard to get but Violet gets him to come around. Dain continues to be a douche bag and Violet finally finds out what Xaden has been hiding and it could cost her her life! We also get a visit from a surpise guest! Who could it be???

Its week 3 with chapters 20-29 of Fourth Wing by Rebecca Yarros. This week, Violet keeps training with her dragons and settling into life as a cadet of the riders quadrant. Xaden challenges the authority to protect her while Dain betrays her. Her team win a field trip to an outpost where Violet visits her sister Mira, but Xaden can't stay away. We also see VIolet finally develop her signet and it leaves her and Xaden in a spicy predicament! Wooooo!

Its week 2 with Fourth Wing by Rebecca Yarros. We're reading chapters 10-19. This week, Violet keeps training in the riders quadrant and she essentially becomes an American Ninja Warrior on the gauntlet. She faces down some dragons during the Threshing and some jerk faces too! She meets her dragon(s) and learns that her dragon and Xaden's have a special relationship that will link them for a long time! Finally Violet is attacked while she's asleep and she discovers something about Andarna and Xaden does the extreme to ensure her (and his) safety.

It's our first week with Rebecca Yarros's book, Fourth Wing! We're starting with chapters 1-9. This week, we meet our main character Violet and dive deep into the world of Basgiath War College! We meet her questionable mother, her badass sister, her terrible best friend and her magnetic enemy. Violet has to try to survive her first year of college (which has a terrible death rate) and earn a dragon even though there are people who are out to kill her! But she's a smarty pants and does a pretty good job of finding her way!

It's our last week with Heir of Fire by SJM - we're finishing off chapters 54-68. This week with Celaena - we see her battle the Valg princes and her inner demons and come out on top! Her and Rowan travel to see Maeve and get some answers on the wyrdkeys before they make a bargain that changes all of their lives. Manon fights for her place as wingleader and makes an important decision that sets her down a better path. Meanwhile Chaol, Dorian and Aedion make some silly mistakes that end up costing somebody their life.

In week 4 of Heir of Fire by SJM we're reading chapters 39-53. This week is a lot about Celaena..yay! We see her slowly develop her powers and use them on bonfires. Which actually goes south and she almost boils from the inside out until Rowan saves her and takes care of her. She moves into his room and they become besties! They also find out there's an army camping nearby with creatures who want to destroy their little fortress. Manon and Abraxos take the leap off the edge to see if they have what it takes to make the crossing and Chaol and Dorian have a difficult chat where Dorian is right and Chaol is a jerk. Finally, the army attacks and Celaena makes the ultimate sacrifice to save a few people!

This week is our 3rd with Heir of Fire by SJM and we're reading chapters 27-38. This week Manon and Abraxos get to know each other and train together and our baby Abraxos gets a makeover and Manon defends his honour! Chaol and Aedion get closer to discovering how magic got canceled and Ren gets hurt being chased by all the men. Sorscha and Dorian take their relationship to the next level (woooo) and Celaena hits her lowest low thanks to Rowan and finally starts to make some progress with her magic before encountering a sea monster!

It’s week 2 with Heir of Fire by SJM which is the third book in the Throne of Glass series. We're discussing chapters 15-26 this week. In this episode, we get a more in depth look into the Ironteeth witches - and they pick their wyverns and we meet precious baby Abraxos! We see Chaol and Aedion come to terms and agree on something for once which pisses Dorian off... but he has his own stuff going on with Sorscha - namely she wants to see him naked. And finally Celaena and Rowan continue to train and argue which leads to some questionable moments and a life or death situation! Does it bring them closer? No... no it doesn't.

It's week 1 with Heir of Fire by Sarah J Maas. This week we're starting with chapters 1-14. This week we catch up with Celaena Sardothian on a new continent as she tries to fulfill her promise to Nehemia. She meets a surely but handsome Fae who takes her to the Queen of the Fae, Maeve. She has to train with Mr. Handsome and gain control of her powers but she doesn't want to...but Mr. Handsome is not taking no for an answer. Chaol is still being his judgy self - both with Celaena and Dorian - and Dorian meets someone new! But so do we! We meet Manon, a cold, heartless Ironteeth witch whose going to take us through a training montage!!!

It's our last week with A Kingdom of Flesh and Fire by Jennifer L Armentrout. We're reading chapters 35-45 aka the end. Soooo much happens this week! First, Poppy and Casteel have the conversation we've all been waiting for and then, surprise! Wedding!! They definitely consummate the marriage in a completely normal way...no talk of honeydew at all. The ascended come and there's a huge battle and then Poppy and Casteel get it on in some ascended ashes. They travel across the Skotos Mountains and Poppy almost dies and meets a goddess before getting to Atlantia and being almost killed again. She also finally meets Casteels parents but doesn't make the best impression....wonder why?

It's week 3 with A Kingdom of Flesh and Fire by JLA. We're reading chapters 23-34. This week we hear all about heartmates, and Poppy has to decide whether she'll let Casteel feed from her or not, which leads to some steamy scenes, and Poppy's powers change and become more interesting. Poppy and Casteel have some time off so they visit a hot spring where things get steamy and just when things start to look up - everyone at Spessa's End gets the news that the Ascended are coming!

It's week 2 of A Kingdom of Flesh and Fire by JLA and we're reading chapters 12-22 this week. In this episode, the Ascended come for a visit and Poppy does something to protect everyone, Casteel comes for her but doesn't have to save her because she saved herself! Our main couple also struggle with trying to convince everyone that their marriage is real. Poppy and Casteel take a trip to Spessa's End but are attacked on the way there by humans that wear skin for masks! Poppy sees Kieran in his birthday suit (wooooo), and there's a scene of questionable consent that involves honeydew....

It's week one with Jennifer L Armentrout's A Kingdom of Flesh and Fire - Book 2 in the Blood and Ash series. This week we're reading chapters 1-11. We pick up right where FBAA left off with Poppy rejecting Casteel's wedding proposal, she runs away, asks an annoying amount of questions, flirts with Casteel (and Kieran a little) and meets an important wolven! She also kicks Casteel's butt in a fight but he may have let her....and our main couple come up with an intriguing arrangement!

It's our last week with Crooked Kingdom by Leigh Bardugo and the end of the duology. We're reading chapters 30 to the end. In this episode - we finally find out what Kaz has planned to get the Crows out of this mess. There are twists, there are turns, and we realize these 16 year olds are way smarter than us....We also finally figure out who dies. We cry about it. Then everything gets wrapped up in a nice little bow!

This week is week 3 with Crooked Kingdom by Leigh Bardugo and we're reading chapters 17-29! This week, we have some bad news for the crows - both of their arch nemeses have teamed up and spoiled their sugar plan!! Pekka Rollins found a special way to deal with Inej and it involves an unhinged assassin tourist! Meanwhile, Nina necromances some dead bodies and Jesper, Kuwei and Matthias use Grisha powers and explosives to get away from their attackers! Kaz doesn't care about them though and goes right for Inej before they complete a hasty retreat to the comfort of the fanciest hotel in Ketterdam - where they reevaluate their life choices and try to come up with a new way to take down adults...as a bunch of teenagers...

It's our second week with Crooked Kingdom by Leigh Bardugo and we're reading chapters 9-16. This week, we see Inej returned and what Van Eck has in store for the Crows for taking his wife. We also see what the strange flying Shu soldiers are up to and how Nina takes control of things. We get the plan from Kaz on how they will get their money (hint- it involves sugar!) and we get several revelations both from Kaz and Jesper and Wylan. And things are FINALLY heating up for Nina and Matthias! Woo woo!

It's time for the sequel to Six of Crows! We're reading chapters 1-8 this week of Crooked Kingdom by Leigh Bardugo. This week we reaquaint ourselves with Kaz and the crows. We see how terrible an actor Wylan is, how Nina has faired after taking the jurda parem, how Matthias is peak boyfriend goals and how Inej is doing being captured by Van Eck! We also meet Jesper's dad and he is just adorable. Let the heist begin (again)!

This is our last week with SJM's A Court of Wings and Ruin! We're finishing with chapters 65 - 82. This week, we see Feyre and Azriel perform a daring camp rescue while Tamlin tries to redeem himself (Kristen doesn't think it works....Catherine does). We get the final showdown with Hybern and Prythians' armies but both Feyre and Rhys have some tricks up their sleeves! We have some surprise visitors and someone makes the ultimate sacrifice - but who???

This is week 4 with Sarah J Maas' A Court of Wings and Ruin. This week we're reading chapters 45-64. This week sees the High Lord meeting even more tense, with Feyre revealing secrets she probably shouldn't, as well as Mor making a connection. We see Hybern finally unleash the cauldron and its not good. We also see the first of many battles of Hybern's army against Prythian's and Feyre makes a decision that brings back our fave busy body - the Suriel!! Also Elain does something that makes our eyes roll.

This week is week 3 of A Court of Wings and Ruin by Sarah J Maas! This week, Rhys faces backlash for working with Eris and Keir, and Feyre continues her flying lessons. Nesta and Feyre are attacked in the library and we get a glimpse of what lives in the dark. Meanwhile, we finally figure out that Elain is a seer! (About time!) We see a battle in the summer court, and we get a first glimpse into the high lords meeting (with d bag Tamlin showing up!)

It's week 2 of A Court of Wings and Ruin by SJM - talking chapters 15-26. This week, Feyre gets back in the swing of things around Velaris - meeting with the inner circle and goes back to training - this time with an added twist. Flying! We see her reunite with her sisters and what the cauldron has done to the both of them and Lucien finally gets to meet his fated mate. We also get some steamy library scenes, some less than steamy Hewn City scenes and Feyre meets up with the infamous Bone Carver to see where his allegiances lie! All before a meeting with Keir, Mor's father, that may fracture the group beyond repair!

This is our first week with SJM's A Court of Wings and Ruin! We're reading chapters 1-14. This week, sooooo much happens. We see Feyre be her most amazing self while trapped back at the Sprinc Court with all of her enemies. She makes some epic chess moves to deal with Tamlin's alliance with Hybern. She also decides to get her revenge on Tamlin for not respecting her wishes when she asked him to not take her against her will... and she pulls Lucien into it. When she puts her plan in motion however, things don't really go to plan and she has to work to get back to her home and her mate!

It's our last week with Neon Gods by Katee Robert. We're reading from chapter 24 to the Epilogue! This week we get some more steamy scenes in Hades' sex dungeon and Hades and Persephone's relationship deepens and they admit their love for each other to themselves. Eurydice gets herself in trouble and calls Persephone and Hades to help which causes Hades to get in some trouble with Zeus and start a potential war! But Persephone has a plan to stop it all and she has to return to the upper city to do it! We find out if Persephone and Hades get their happily ever after or if Persephone abandons everyone for her dream of California? We find out!

This is week 3 with Neon Gods by Katee Robert. This week we're reading chapters 15-23. This week we get into some saucy bits! Hades and Persephone go to Hades' special party and show off their new relationship to all of the guest. They also spend some time getting to know each other and visiting the Lower City a bit more. Persephone essentially moves into Hades room and both of them realise their feelings extend beyond the casual. They finally have sex with the lights on and no condoms - the closest they've allowed themselves to be! We end off this week with Hades making a huge life decision thanks to Persephone and some worshipping in his special dungeon. *Sorry about sound this week! We had a mic issue and didn't realise it! Should be back to normal next week!*

This is week 2 with Neon Gods by Katee Robert - we're reading chapters 8-14. This week gets really saucy with a couple of trips to Hades sex dungeon! We learn that Persephone likes to misbehave and Hades wants to punish her for it (in a sexy way). Hades also shows Persephone around the lower city and she likes it. She is realizing that the Lower City is nothing like Zeus's domain. Hades is also catching some major feels and is wondering what it would be like if he could keep Persephone permanently instead of letting her go in three months.

This is week 1 of our new book for the month of May, Neon Gods by Katee Robert. We are tackling chapters 1-7. This episode we meet our 2 main characters, Persephone and Hades. Persephone is 1 of 4 daughters of the wealthy and politically powerful Demeter when her world comes crashing around her after a surprise question from Zeus which causes her to flee to the Lower City and into the arms of the mysterious Hades - a man she didn't know existed. In order to get out of her unfortunate situation she makes a proposal to Hades that will change both of their public reputations...and more!

It's our last week with From Blood and Ash by Jennifer L Armentrout. We're reading from chapter 33 to the END! This episode is all truth all the time as Poppy finally learns several (but not all) of Hawke's secrets! Her life is in danger a couple of times but Hawke swoops in to save the day, and oh yeah, there's some SPICE in this week with Poppy deciding to do something for herself for once and give in to her feelings for Hawke. (More than once...woo) The book ends with Hawke stating something that will change Poppy's life forever...but only if she says yes!

This week is week 3 discussing From Blood and Ash by Jennifer L Armentrout. We're reading chapters 22-32. Poppy gets all ready for her first Rite! It's not as fun as she wants it to be but Hawke hides with her under a willow and adds some real excitement (if you know what we mean!) Vikter is disappointed in Poppy - but he doesn't really have time to reflect because the Rite is attacked! A lot of people die and Poppy gets her revenge on the Duke and Lord Mazeen! We also see Poppy take a trip, find out how Hawke can help her relax and she finally takes a step she's wanted to make since she met him. (Also she was attacked by Cravens but who cares) We end off on a sexy cliffhanger!

This is week 2 with From Blood and Ash by Jennifer L Armentrout - we're discussing chapters 10 - 21. This week Hawke gets promoted to Royal Guard and declares his loyalty to Poppy. We see them getting closer and he finds out that her life isn't as honourable as it seems. We get an inside look at one of the Duke's "lessons'' and it's just as bad as we expected it to be. Poppy also fights to defend her town after the Rise is breached by Craven. We see Hawke defend Poppy from a feeble priestess and Poppy goes a long way for a dirty diary.

It's time for a new book: we're reading From Blood and Ash by Jennifer L Armentrout this month! Starting with chapters 1-9 this week and we meet our main character Poppy or as the kingdom calls her, "The Maiden", and she's been chosen by the Gods to be in service to them all her life and is just waiting to be given to them during her ascension when she turns 19. However, her life isn't easy or glamourous. There are countless rules to follow and things she isn't allowed to do - which doesn't sit right with Poppy. So she rebels in whatever small way she can - by using her empath powers to ease the suffering of cursed mortals and by going to the Red Pearl - a scandalous nightclub where all manner of sin happens. It's also where she just so happens to have a run in with the delicious Hawke Flynn who just screams of danger and forbidden desire. Will Poppy break this rule too?

It's our last week with Crown of Midnight by Sarah J Maas. We're reading chapters 44 to the end this week! In this episode we contemplate Celaena's decision to blow out her torch in a creepy dungeon, and meet the strange creature that's been living under the library. Celaena finally learns Dorian's secret, and it helps her uncover some more of what the King is up to. We see Celaena finally figure out some of the secrets of Elena's tomb and make a decision that puts her as well as her friends in danger. We also finally, finally learn the secret that Celaena's been keeping to herself all this time - and boy is it a doozy!

It's time for another special episode of Coffee and Co-Read! Because Season 2 of Shadow and Bone was recently released - we are watching it together and talking all about it! We catch up with Alina and Mal - on the run but living their best lives being all cute and romantic; The Crows are back in Ketterdam trying to pick up the pieces after their failed kidnapping attempt - only to realize they're wanted by the notorious Pekka Rollins; the Darkling is up to his old shenanigans - controlling monsters and the fold and using it for his own purposes. We also meet some new faces! Cute little Wylan - and 3 hot pirates! (Sorry, privateers) What will our crews get up to??

This is week 4 of Crown of Midnight by Sarah J Maas and we’re talking chapters 34-43. This week, we see the fallout between Chaol and Celaena over dangerous secrets, as well as Celaena mourning her dear friend. She plots for retribution for Nehemia's killer, and boy does she get it. We get Chaol and Dorian both pining for the girl they loved...knowing she is lost to them both. Celaena's grief leads Chaol to a secret that causes him to mistrust Celaena and understand why they're enemies. Celaena finally figures out the riddle and in the process learns that Nehemia was keeping things from her. She has a run in with a witch, and she finally figures out what's beyond the secret room in the library, with the help of her newfound expertise in Wyrdmarks.

This is week 3 of Crown of Midnight by Sarah J Maas. We cover chapters 21-33. This week is all about the romance! (kind of). Celaena plans a romantic dinner for Chaol where they finally admit their intense feelings - and they “get a babysitter for Fleetfoot". Celaena and Nehemia don't see eye to eye on certain things which causes a rift, but they still do the best friend trope of talking about their sex lives. Finally! (We're looking at you Persephone). Celaena keeps trying to find more info on the rebellion happening in Rifthold but Archer is useless. Finally, something completely unexpected happens that rocks Celaena to her core and changes the trajectory of her relationship with Chaol, and she and Kaltain are finally...getting along, common enemies anyone?

This is week 2 discussing Crown of Midnight by Sarah J Maas. This week we're talking chapters 11-20. We see Celaena getting closer to Chaol, while Dorian is dealing with his own issues. Nehemia keeps trying to convince Celaena that she should fight against the King, while Celaena just wants to be left in peace. She also gets herself in a spot of trouble or two when she is accidentally poisoned while infiltrating a potential rebels mansion, as well as discovering a secret section off the castle library. Finally, Celaena deals with the worst of all days during the anniversary of her parents death. 

This is a brand new month and we're talking about Crown of Midnight! It's the second book in the Throne of Glass series by Sarah J Maas. This week we're reading chapters 1-10. We catch up with Celaena, our infamous assassin who's settled into her role as the King's Champion nicely. She's gotten close with the captain of the royal guard, Chaol, and at the same time distanced herself from the crown prince, Dorian, and she has both men continue to look her way. She has also continued her friendship with Princess Nehemia, a spy in the King's court that keeps asking Celaena to help her in her rebellion. But Celaena has lost too much and suffered too long. All she wants is to serve her contract and be free, but something is still lurking in the castle....and Celaena might be the only one that can do something about it. 

This is our last week with Solitaire by Alice Oseman! We're reading from chapters 10 to After of Part 2! This week, Tori and Becky draw a line across their friendship, Tori and her mother do not see eye to eye, and Tori and Michael get even closer! We also finally learn the identity of Solitaire and why they have connected everything to Tori. Lastly, we get the final showdown between Tori and Solitaire (and some other friends) and Tori does her best to save the things she holds dear.  Next week we're starting Crown of Midnight by SJM! Read ahead chapters 1-10!

This week we're reading chapter 24 from part 1 to chapter 9 of part 2 of Solitaire by Alice Oseman. This week, we see the after effects of Ben and Charlie's confrontation, as well as a party hosted by none other than Solitaire where things go a bit too far but not before Tori faces a sweet moment with Michael and a betrayal like no other from Becky. We're confused by the headmaster and disappointed by Tori and Charlie's grandparents. Tori is stood up by someone - and rediscovers some of her childhood memories which give her a shocking revelation about Solitaire. At the end of this section, a Solitaire prank goes too far! 

It's Galentine's day, a day to celebrate the best friendships! And what better way to do that than to go through all the books we have read so far and discuss whether or not we would be friends with the main gals. Plus, 2 special awards at the end for best and worst friend. Happy Galentines Day! <3 

This is week 2 discussing Solitaire by Alice Oseman, we're doing chapters 11-23! This week, we get more of Tori getting to know the two new boys in her life. She goes to a costume party dressed as Wednesday Adams and watches one of our fave movies! She gets closer to Michael before dealing with an unfortunate situation with Charlie. This leads to her spending even more time with Michael as well as isolating herself from her friends. She hangs out a bit more with Ben Hope - Becky's new boyfriend and something between him and Charlie rocks Tori to her core. 

This is week 1 talking Solitaire chapters 1-10 by Alice Oseman. This week we meet our main girl, Tori and we see the world through her eyes; as someone who doesn't care about anything! She has a group of friends she doesn't really talk to and a family she doesn't really fit in with. That is until she meets Michael! A fellow weirdo who also has to pretend to be normal. They are both intrigued by a school prankster known only by the name "Solitaire". Our first week delves into Tori and Michael becoming uneasy friends, Tori being locked in a classroom by Solitaire and getting saved by Michael and his mysterious disappearance from the halls afterwards. Plus Tori has some unsettling dreams! 

This is our last week talking all things A Touch of Darkness by Scarlett St. Clair. This week we're talking chapters 20-the end! In this week's episode we get more into the relationship between Hades and Persephone. They have lots more sex, go on some dates, and even bake cookies together (though we have some issues with the logistics of those cookies!). Demeter finally makes an appearance, strips away Persephone's glamour and makes a decision that changes the way Persephone sees her deal with Hades. We reach the end of the 6 month deadline and conveniently Persephone makes a discovery that will impact how she moves forward, and we finally see her take charge of her own life. 

This is week 3 discussing A Touch of Darkness by Scarlett St. Clair where we cover chapters 13-19. This week the sauce is exploding with our sexiest chapters to date! Persephone and Hades are still struggling to get along but can't seem to fight their attraction to each other, and even though Hades teases and refuses her because he feels she doesn't respect him, it doesn't really stop him for long. We get some intimate moments in a public bath, in Hades bedroom (twice), and a garden outside! All while Persephone struggles with her feelings for Hades and her conflicting desires to be possessed by him but also free from her bargain! 

In week 2 of discussing Scarlett St. Clair's A Touch of Darkness we talk about chapters 6 to 12. In this week's episode, we see Persephone get closer to Hades with some steamy moments, even though she doesn't like him, and then we see her do some truly stupid things, like trying to swim across the river Styx and trying to gather water from the river Lethe. She writes her article but isn't ready to release it - when Adonis does it for her! She makes a lot of people cranky, including her mother and Hades, which causes her to go clubbing in protest! Also, we go off on a lot of tangents.....we love tangents.

This is week 1 discussing A touch of Darkness by Scarlett St. Clair! This week we tackle chapters 1-5. In this episode we meet our main couple - Persephone and Hades. Persephone is an inexperienced goddess masquerading as a human to get away from her controlling mother Demeter, and Hades is a jaded, club owner, God of the Underworld who likes to make deals. We see Persephone enter her weird internship that we don't understand and enter into a deal with Hades that she doesn't understand, all while trying to write an exposé on Hades' shady deals with humans!
