Episode 33: Crazy Nights (35th Anniversary)KISS released their 21st album on September 21st 1987. Paul and Gene worked with the hot producer at the time Ron Nevison for the next chapter of the band. Crazy Night would bring a pop/rock/metal sound for this album. More akin to 1980's Unmasked album but with a heavy keyboard presence.  Speaking of presence, Gene's was almost nonexistent. Gene was spending more time in Hollywood leaving the reigns to Paul and Ron. Eric Carr and Bruce Kulick delivered more on this album with Gene's on again off schedule. The result, a Platinum album for the band  and one that was on heavy rotation at MTV. On this episode Nick, Nikko & Rob look back at the album and review song by song, plus they pick their 9 as usual. Episode 26: REVENGE 30 years ago May 19th 1992, KISS released their 16 studio album and 24th overall. Having suffer the tragic loss of their beloved drummer Eric Carr the year prior KISS was determined to get Revenge and get their heads back in the game. A new look for the band that was more akin to black and leather look of the past welcomed new member and drummer Eric Singer. Formally of Badlands, Alice Cooper, Black Sabbath and Paul Stanley's solo touring band to name a few joined the legendary band. Kulick, Simmons, Stanley and Singer sought out reclaim their rock metal roots with force. With producer Bob Ezrin at the help the hoped to achieve that admits the changing of the music landscape. Blazing guitars, ponding drums, with Stanley's soring vocal and the "return" of Gene as some might say. Gene was fully committed to the band fully with no outside projects pulling him away this time. he even grew a goatee to complete the look. This is the best look for the band post make up. would the album deliver? That's what we intend to discuss. Nick, Nikko,  & Rob break down the tracks on the album, the production and what makes this album worthy of the title... REVENGE.  Episode: 22 The Opening Act Def Leppard part 2: Adrenalize 30th Anniversary  On March 30 (in the UK) and her in the United States on March 31st 1992 Def Leppard released their 5th studio album Adrenalize! The album debuted at No. 1 on both the UK Albums Chart and, in the following week, on the U.S. Billboard 200. This would be the first album with out founding lead guitarist Steve Clark since his passing the year prior.  The band completed the album as a four piece and would make a worthy successor to 1987's Hysteria. Episode 19: DestroyerOn March 15th 1976 KISS unleashed their magnum opus, an album that might as well be considered a greatest hits before it was even released. Destroyer was the album that KISS was looking for. An album that truly represented themselves as artists, it took what they were doing live and  finally captured that spirit on vinyl. With producer and song writer on the album Bob Ezrin brought out parts from each band members that they didn't know they had. This episode we look at the album as a whole. We look at each song track by track, we pick what other singles could have be used for radio, rank the album cover and the album with what has been done on the show so far. It was 1980 something, and we can all remember sitting down with our boom box and making that perfect KISS Mix Tape. You poured over it, you had to pick the right songs that expressed what this band means to you.... but each song had to fit just right on the tape. Maybe it was  your road trip tape, maybe it was the tape you gave your best friend, maybe it was the tape you gave that special someone, OR when someone would say KISS sucks and you said HELL NO!... On a the fall of 2006, and 10 year old Nikko Caruso wanders into the family room and puts in his fathers KISSology Vo.1 DVD and pushes play. What comes on the screen changes his life. 1977's classic KISS concert The Summit live in Huston! Ace Frehley, Gene Simmons, Peter Criss & Paul Stanley put on one of the classic shows of all time. This would be bootlegged for years and years before KISS themselves put it out in this three volume box set that came out in October of 2006.
