Ep. 51 Psycho CircusEpsiode 51:PSYCHO CIRCUS (25th Anniversary) After the success of the 1996 Alive Worldwide Reunion Tour, everyone asked one question "what's next?" Surely the band would record a new album, and they did just that... well kinda. In 1998, Gene Simmons, Paul Stanley, Ace Frehley, and Peter Criss entered the studio to record their first album together since 1979's Dynasty. Much like Dynasty, Ace and Peter would practically appear on the album in name only, with the exception of Peter only playing drums on one track and singing lead vocals two. Ace only played guitar on two tracks and sang on 2 tracks. The remaining drum and guitar tracks were played by Kevin Valentine and future KISS lead guitarist, Tommy Thayer, both uncredited. Most of these decisions were made by producer, Bruce Fairbairn. On this episode, Nick, Nikko, and Rob discuss the 25th Anniversary of Psycho Circus. Taking off the KISS goggles and ignoring the drama in the recording studio, is there a solid KISS album underneath the tracks of Psycho Circus or this just KISStory repeating itself? So, take off the drama blinders, raise your glasses and get ready to toast the anniversary of Psycho Circus...welcome to the show!
