Larry Groebe is back with Project Audion's December classic radio recreation is a lost episode from a virtually-lost series - how’s that for a Christmas present from the past! “My True Story" was on the air from 1943 to 1962 on three networks, but it's all but forgotten today as only 10 or so vintage recordings survive out of perhaps 5,000 original broadcasts! A daily cousin to the daytime soap operas, "My True Story" produced a nearly hour-long complete drama five days a week, which I find astonishing. Our episode from Christmas Eve 1958 (#3,833) carried two titles - "A Christmas to Remember" and also "The Orphan In The Auditorium." It asked the question, "What happens to a child who unexpectedly meets Santa Claus?" In 2018, famed horror writer Anna Sheridan disappeared, leaving behind only a box of mysterious cassette tapes and for their second feature one of the anthology episodes from "Wrong Station" with "A Walk in the Park". She was walking home on one of the snowiest nights of the year, she tells me. She kind of loses track of time, and eventually comes to this park.
