909. How To Get The Attention Of Anyone You Want
One of the most common questions that I get from listeners who are trying to build their platform is how to become valuable enough so that people with more influence actually want to return the favor or collaborate. I’m not going to lie, it requires you going the extra mile and finding creative ways to stand out from the crowd, but I promise that the time and energy you put in will pay off. There are three main things that people want when they’re looking for an equal energy exchange, and in today’s episode, I break down what those are, plus a couple of bonus ones. I also share my top tips for how to approach communication with people you want to collab with and some of my personal experiences with getting on someone’s radar.
IN THIS EPISODE, WE TALK ABOUT:
Why you shouldn’t take it personally if you don’t get the response you want from someone you want to connect with
Understanding perceived value
What it means to value stack, and how you can implement that into your life
My advice for posting Reels and TikToks
Examples of experiences, education, and things that you can offer to someone

908. How To Start Something New With Less Risk
What do you feel like is totally out of reach for you, and why? Maybe it’s hosting an event, launching a product, or adding on another service to your line up, but regardless of what arena you’re in, my number one piece of advice is to start small and scale from there. Lauren and I share examples of what it looks like to fine tune your idea and make it small enough so that you can get it off the ground. We discuss the importance of tapping into your message, audience, and marketing, and finding a through line that lets you show up as your authentic self in everything that you do. Plus, we recap what’s been going on with Lite Pink and our lives outside of work recently!
IN THIS EPISODE, WE TALK ABOUT:
Different avenues to reach your goals without taking huge risks
How to get people interested in your idea
Why we love collaborating with other people and small, local businesses
What a white-label product is and why you should look into it if want to get into the products-based business space
The three most important questions to ask yourself before you launch your business

907. The Fastest Way To Get Out Of A Funk
The human experience, especially as an entrepreneur, can feel like a never-ending roller coaster. I recently had a day where I was feeling super low and in my head about the direction of my life, but I was able to snap out of it by talking to our new neighbors and sharing my business experience. Chris and I have realized that we’re happiest when we’re living our purpose, which for us means building something, working hard, and creating meaningful experiences with people that we love. By getting out of my own world and helping uplift someone else, I inevitably feel better and start climbing to the top again.
IN THIS EPISODE, WE TALK ABOUT:
Learning how to integrate more enjoyment along with work
What it feels like when we spiral and we’re in this temporary false reality
The immediate mood shift that happens when you’re of service to someone else
Details about the launch of our new course

905. But What If Your Biggest Fears Actually Happen?
Fear is the number one reason why people don’t take the first step to pursue their calling. For some, it's fear of failure or being judged, and for others, it looks like perfectionism or imposter syndrome. The list could go on forever, but the truth is, the things that you think are going to break you are the same things that are going to make you. Challenges come up to test our strength and dedication to our dream, and what you do in those moments reveal you who you really are. There’s so much knowledge, joy, and success on the other side of those hard times, but are you willing to put in the work to make it there? I share how I handled a couple of mindset challenges that came at me this week and ways to reframe your perspective about hardship and pain.
IN THIS EPISODE, WE TALK ABOUT:
How fear shows up in fancy disguises
Practicing showing up as the person that you want to be
How my relationship with challenge and pain has changed
Extracting lessons and silver linings from hard situations

903. Our Biggest Lessons From Italy
We’ve finally had some time to really reflect about our vacation to the Amalfi Coast and want to share some of our biggest takeaways from the trip. Our friend Rob Murgatroyd curated so many beautiful experiences as part of his Work Hard Play Hard Mastermind and we were able to really soak up the Italian culture, art, food, and fashion. We talk about getting clarity on how we’re going to balance the joy and production containers of our lives, and our commitment to making time for new, enriching experiences in our week.
We learned about the Italian saying “Dolce Far Niente,” which means the sweetness of doing nothing, observing beauty, and enjoying life in the moment. Chris and I want to take time to be more present in our everyday lives and worry less about things that we don’t have control over. This trip proved to us that a vacation doesn't have to be just a moment in time一we can extend this sense of peace and wonder into our everyday lives.
IN THIS EPISODE, WE TALK ABOUT:
Examples of how Italians value both form and function, and beauty for beauty’s sake
Why we’re cutting off work at 1PM on Fridays for the next few months
Applying deeper meaning to our beautiful life together and taking away the power that stress has
Finding magic in connection and conversation when business isn’t the main topic
The benefits of getting out of your environment and day-to-day comfort zone

895. What To Do If You're Afraid Of A Recession Coming
I wanted to have a conversation with Chris about what’s really going on in this uncertain economy, what he thinks is coming in the future, and how we can prepare ourselves so that we don’t experience a repeat of 2008/2009 when we had to start over from scratch. So many of us are scarred from The Great Recession, but the reality is that the majority of news outlets rely on fear mongering techniques, which just make people freeze in fear. In today's episode, Chris explains how we’ve ended up in this rapid inflation situation, why a recession is usually a self-fulfilling prophecy, and three ways that you can bulletproof yourself for whatever’s coming down the pipeline.
IN THIS EPISODE, WE TALK ABOUT:

893. What You Need To Start EXECUTING On Your Goals
My friend and incredible entrepreneur Kim Perell coined the term ‘the execution factor' and it’s a concept that I’ve been coming back to a lot lately. I’ve realized that the reason why so many of us don’t execute on our desires and purpose is because we're not clear on what we actually want. We have too many things on our plate and we haven't learned how to set up our schedule and make time for the actions that actually move the needle. When I’m feeling stuck, I ask myself what is one thing I could do right now that would start to give me a sense of purpose and make me feel like I’m moving forward? In today’s episode, I share my accountability game plan and how I tune back into my goals when I’m feeling out of alignment.
IN THIS EPISODE, WE TALK ABOUT:
How I feel when I’m not making progress on my goals
My plan to make sure that I hit all my writing deadlines for my upcoming book
Discovering different areas of your life where you might need to make a small adjustment so that you stay on track
Staying focused when your to-do list feels overwhelming

892. The Power Of Social Media & Why We Chose To Be Direct To Consumer
One of the biggest questions that I get asked is why we chose the direct-to-consumer (DTC) route instead of getting on the shelves of major retailers. In today’s episode, Lauren and I talk about the benefits of being DTC, how we collect data and insights about our customer base, and how we’ve harnessed the power of social media to build the Lite Pink brand before we even launch. Being able to connect to our followers and build relationships in the DMs has been an invaluable tool, especially with all the delays we’re facing. We discuss how to convert social media comments into sales and create a community of people who truly align with your brand. We also share our major takeaways from working in new and uncertain environments.
IN THIS EPISODE, WE TALK ABOUT:
Exciting Lite Pink updates
Learning that you can still move forward and make decisions even when you don’t have all the answers
How social media has helped us generate buzz and create the identity of Lite Pink
The advantages and challenges of both DTC and launching in retail
Creating organic reach on social media

891. Comfort Has Consequences, Here’s Why
There’s a balance between coasting and enjoying life, but also doing things that stretch you and get you out of your comfort zone. Chris and I talk about some ways that we’ve been switching up our energy, doing things that make us grow, and setting us up for success when it comes to reaching our goals. We discuss the difference between intentional and unintentional discomforts, and what we do to stay proactive about unintentional discomforts like burnout and weight gain. Plus, Chris shares details about his newest course that’s going to help support you in this transitional economy that we’re in right now.
IN THIS EPISODE, WE TALK ABOUT:
Why intentional discomfort is actually a great thing
How our podcasts keep us uncomfortable and push us to have conversations that expand us
Starting with small changes and goals
Confronting where you’re choosing short term pleasure over long term happiness
The importance of committing to your goals before your environment tests you

ABOUT BRITTANY
Spearheading the fastest market rollout in the history of the spirits industry, Brittany Yeng, co-founder and managing partner of Skrewball Peanut Butter Whiskey, is a chemist, turned lawyer, turned spirits brand owner. Yeng was one to watch as she took her husband’s wacky idea of combining peanut butter and whiskey and turned it into a shelf-stable product and Hollywood favorite that reached national distribution in just one short year. An industry disruptor and a woman making waves in a male dominated industry, she is a highly educated woman juggling parenting while running a leading spirits company, creating a brand that goes beyond just whiskey. Skrewball is a lifestyle that is welcoming to all manner of weirdo, maverick and misfit that brings people together in a world of uncertainty. When Yeng isn’t taking over the spirits industry one bottle at a time, she enjoys spending time with her daughters and getting off the grid while traveling to far remote places with her family.

889. How To Take Quantum Leaps By Full Immersion
I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve listened to The Big Leap audiobook, but something new really sticks out to me each time I go back to it. I’ve been thinking a lot about Gay Hendricks’ concept of ‘Upper Limiting’ when you are about to step a giant step into something bigger. That’s when all of the inner saboteurs, self-doubt, and limiting beliefs come back in. I’ve realized that in order to quiet those voices, I need to fully immerse myself in my goal. I share how this idea has shown up in my religious childhood, my fitness competition years, my time in network marketing, and now as I’m getting ready to launch Lite Pink. I talk about ways that I’ve safe-guarded myself to stay on track and build the mental strength that it takes to make those quantum leaps to my dreams.
IN THIS EPISODE, WE TALK ABOUT:
How to make sure that we’re always walking on the path of purpose
What it looks like to be fully immersed in things that light you up
Creating an environment that supports your growth
Confronting the areas of your where you’re self-sabotaging

888. Listener Q&A: Navigating Imposter Syndrome And Where To Channel Your Energy
We’re answering two listener questions today about navigating imposter syndrome and figuring out where to focus your energy. Lauren and I agree that imposter syndrome isn’t necessarily a bad thing一it’s actually a sign of growth and proof that you’re evolving. We talk about how we approach uncharted territory in business with a curious and confident mindset. We also discuss how we prioritize things on our to-do lists and why it's so important to write things out. One of our go-to methods is to map out our timelines, which helps us feel less overwhelmed with everything that’s on our plate. Plus, I break down exactly how to grow your revenue and audience at the same time.
IN THIS EPISODE, WE TALK ABOUT:
How to embrace imposter syndrome
Figuring out the action item that is the path of least resistance to make sales
Staying flexible with where you spend your energy
The #1 quality that I see in successful entrepreneurs

887. Do Your Standards Match Your Goals?
Does your current routine match the standards that it takes to hit your life goals? What about your environment and the people that you surround yourself with? Chris and I have been noticing that there are gaps between where we want to be and where we currently are, and we’re discussing the tangible ways that we’re closing those gaps. I realized that I was giving myself a lot of space for excuses by working from home, so I’ve switched up my workflow and I’ve already noticed a major difference in my productivity. Chris is celebrating a weight loss milestone and shares how he got there by committing to his health goals. Send us a DM and let us know what you’re going to do 10% better for 10 days to get closer to your dream!
IN THIS EPISODE, WE TALK ABOUT:
Why improvement isn't about working harder; it’s about working smarter and strategically
Confronting where you’re self-sabotaging
Evaluating what you can change in your surroundings and work routine to hit your target
Making incremental improvements instead of doing the all-or-nothing approach

We discuss learning how to fail forward, what it takes to expand your network, and how to create a work environment where employees feel supported to take risks. We’re joined by our good friend Lindsey Schwartz of Powerhouse Women for today’s He Said, She Said! We each share one moment or event of expansiveness when we did something that felt either scary or irresponsible or unreasonable, but it became this moment that radically upleveled us. We wanted to be around people who were at the level we wanted to be at, and over our 18 months of living there, we made it happen. Lindsey talks about her decision to attend her first mastermind event and how she learned to make decisions based on what her future self would do. Plus, Chris touches on his decision to go all-in on his FinTech company and partner with someone who can help him get to his $100 million goal.
IN THIS EPISODE, WE TALK ABOUT:

879. Stop Being Responsible For Others’ Emotions And Experiences
When you’re at an event and you notice that someone is clearly not having a good time, what’s your reaction? If you’re anything like I used to be, you would take yourself out of the fun and try and shift that person’s energy, solve their problems, and ultimately, bring your own mood down. This might be a major wakeup call for some of you who don’t even realize that you’re doing this and fall into patterns of feeling responsible for other people’s emotions. When you start to take full ownership over your own feelings and reactions, that is one of the most powerful places that you can be in. This is a lifetime practice, but I’m sharing some tips on how I’ve been able to implement this in my life and the major changes that I’ve seen as a result of shifting out of my people-pleasing tendencies.
IN THIS EPISODE, WE TALK ABOUT:
Why you can only be responsible for your own emotions and reactions
What tends to happen when you try to control the energy in a room
How to be friendly while also maintaining your boundaries
Reflecting on why you might fall into these patterns
Overcoming the potential discomfort that can come with this practice

878. Why Less Is More When It Comes To Systems And Workflows
We’ve been getting alot of DMs about how we keep track of and organize our ideas, plans, and projects. Lauren and I are diving in on the tech systems that we use, how we prioritize tasks, and why we keep things as simple and user-friendly as possible. It might surprise people to hear that we rely on Google Drive for just about everything, but Lauren is a master at building out progress trackers and dashboards that keep everyone dialed in on what they need to be doing. She also is great at keeping tabs on bigger-picture items. I share how I personally organize the notes section on my phone, and why it’s so important to sit with your ideas for a little bit instead of sharing every single thought with your team. We also highlight why it’s so important to niche down and start with a very focused vision, even when you have big dreams for your company.
IN THIS EPISODE, WE TALK ABOUT:
Figuring out which ideas are worth pursuing, and which ones can be put on the back burner
How we keep track of contacts who have offered help or a favor in the past
Learning how to become more organized as an ideator
Our flagging process with emails
Limiting distractions within our workflows and systems

877. 3 Ways We Have Created Our Dream Life (That You Can Do Too!)
Chris and I had this moment on our walk through our new neighborhood in Newport where we realized that we’re building the life that we always dreamed of. We want to share the formula that we’ve used to get here, and even though it’ll look different for everyone, these tips can help you get to where you want to be no matter where that is. My approach to getting a second book deal

We discuss why we love text lists, creating opt-ins for Earn Your Happy listeners, and why I decided to write a book while simultaneously launching Lite Pink. 869. Is it Hustle? Or is it Flow? Which One Is The Truth?
Chris and I have noticed this big cultural shift from the hustle and grind mindset to letting things flow and take their natural course. Which one is better? Like most things, I think it’s best to exist somewhere in the middle of the two extremes. We talk about learning how to hustle with boundaries, giving yourself at least one day a week to be present, and practicing intentional planning. There are moments and seasons when you’re going to have to give it your all, but recognize that you and your team need time to recharge afterwards. Chris and I share how we’ve found the balance of hustle and flow and our advice for avoiding burnout as an entrepreneur.

ABOUT JACLYN
Jaclyn Johnson created her career. A powerhouse entrepreneur, by the time she was 28, Johnson had sold her first business, invested in multiple female-owned startups and launched her second multi-million dollar company, Create & Cultivate. Johnson recognized a gap in conversations, resources, events and community for female millennial entrepreneurs and responded with a solution, Create & Cultivate, the wildly popular media platform and nationwide conference. In the process, Jaclyn’s own work-life philosophy, built on the cornerstones of female empowerment, hustling-hard and innovation have propelled her voice to the forefront of the discussion on workplace equality, a new thought-leader for millennial women and Gen-Z-ers on the career come up. This passion for supporting female entrepreneurs has sparked her latest endeavor, New Money Ventures; a venture capital firm and brand studio on a mission to fund and build the next generation of game-changing, female-led companies.
Named a Forbes 30 Under 30, an Adweek Disruptor and profiled in Fast Company, the LA Times, Entrepreneur and more, Johnson has earned her way to the frontlines of a workplace revolution at a time when change-agents and disruptors are flexing real influence.

Examples of people who are really focused on attracting abundance
What I’m doing to boost my social media strategy
Recognizing ways that you might be self-sabotaging
