Nations around the world are pouring money into bringing semiconductor manufacturing onto their shores. Germany was the latest, wooing Intel with a nearly $11 billion subsidy to build a $33 billion chip plant. Intel also won money to expand in Poland, as well as in Israel. Intel may also become an investor in the upcoming ARM Holding IPO. In other news, an ex-Samsung and SKHynix executive was arrested for stealing tech to open a copycat fab in China. Micron is also dealing with its ban in China, but it's also simultaneously committing more money to its Mainland China factory. What's up with that? Micron is also nearing a deal to spend at least $1 billion in India.
