Listen as Mario shares his story of turning his life around from rock bottom to thriving.#BETTERWEALTHFor more information on BetterWealth or the content you hear on the Podcast visit us at www.betterwealth.com/podcast.Guest Bio: I am Mario Torrez I am 30 years old. I’m a native from Phoenix, AZ. I have 4 children. 8-year-old daughter, 3-year-old son, 2 identical twin girls 17 months old. My current full-time career is a Firefighter/Paramedic with the City of Phoenix. I have had a Life Insurance Policy with Ohio National Life Insurance and applying IBC since September 2020 and been a BetterWealth member since September 2020 as well. I grew up in a broken home and lived with my sister and mom in Washington State. I grew up without my father most of my young life. He came back into my life and I moved back to AZ with him back in 2001 and have stayed out in AZ ever since. I’ve struggled with substance abuse since the age of 13. 2019 came and my family left me and I almost lost my career as a Fireman. At the age of 28 I got sober through Alcoholics Anonymous and various treatment programs. I lived in Sober Living for approximately 1 year. 2020 came around and I started to feel discontent with my role as a firefighter and realized I hadn’t made amends with myself. I went on a spiritual journey to discover my purpose in life again. I was not allowed to be apart of my twin daughters life at the time and was in litigation with the mother of my kids since I did not have 50% custody of my kids. After my journey I decided to open up a sober living home and October 2020 is when I obtained a property and started working on the project. Currently New Method Sober Living is ranked #2 in Phoenix. We are currently converting New Method to a Behavioral Health Residential Treatment Center starting June 1, 2021. Safe and Sound Transitional Living is a Non-Profit established in October 2020 as well. We are opening our first sober living home for men June 1st 2021. Why College Isn’t Right For Most Students with Praxis COO Mitchell Earl
Episode Description: In today's BetterWealth episode, I had the great honor of interviewing a dear friend, MItchell Earl, COO at Praxis and author of Don't Do Stuff You Hate. Praxis is a college alternative 12-month program that matches ambitious, hard-working young adults with full-time, paid apprenticeships at growing businesses. Listen as Mitchell and I talk about why college isn’t the right tool most people need for the outcome they want. Most college students rarely walk away with doing college correctly, by identifying the outcome they want and spending their money and time to obtain those goals. Most students walk away with crippling debt, a job that wasn’t what they got their degree from, and years of time spent in a classroom rather than building work experience. Listen as Mitchell shares why Praxis leads with the goal to give students an alternative route to college where they go into a program specifically designed to meet their desired needs and desired outcomes and coming out with more work experience, skill training and a job that pays more than the money they spent for their education. Mitchell also shares with me what makes students successful in college or the academic setting and why alternative options like Praxis help develop better success today in the workforce. I also ask Mitchell to discuss his money 101 philosophies. Listen as he talks about the mindset of capturing value. But at the end of the day it is imperative that in our own personal/family economy we have a good grasp of the money we have coming in and how we can grow that, where the money is being spent and is it the most efficient or is there money being lost, and finally is the money that we are saving protracted and working in such a way that it will continue to support our lives in the future. #BETTERWEALTHFor more information on BetterWealth or the content you hear on the Podcast visit us at www.betterwealth.com/podcast.#BetterWealth📞 Free 15 Minute Clarity Call: https://bttr.ly/ytclarity📕 The And Asset Book: https://bttr.ly/book💸 BetterWealth Quiz: https://bttr.ly/quiz👪 AndAsset.com: https://bttr.ly/andasset🎥 BetterWealth Youtube - https://bttr.ly/bwyoutube🤵🏼 Financial Advisor, Agent or Coach: https://bttr.ly/advisor

Can You Pay Yourself Back Interest With Infinite Banking
Nelson Nash was obsessed with controlling capital and creating more volume to grow. In today's BetterWealth episode, Dom and I talk about a lot of myths around infinite banking. There are several misconceptions around infinite banking that has people coming to us asking questions like “If I take my money from my policy and pay it back with interest, is it true I get that interest back?” Dom and I talk about where these myths came from, how concepts from Nelson Nash have been twisted. Becoming your own banker had the primary principle of “saving more money” and have the ability to have more of a volume of money being controlled because Nelson was obsessed with controlling capital and creating more volume to grow. Also I describe how Nelson wanted to encourage more savings by the psychology of “paying yourself back” with a higher interest so you can develop better behavior when it comes to savings and control. Join me on YouTube as Dom and I illustrate the concept of policy loans and how they work in paying interest, paying the principal, or if you never pay your policy loan back, how that works. We answer the questions and myths about paying your policy back, the interest of your policy and some of Nelson’s psychology of money. #BETTERWEALTHFor more information on BetterWealth or the content you hear on the Podcast visit us at www.betterwealth.com/podcast.#BetterWealth📞 Free 15 Minute Clarity Call: https://bttr.ly/ytclarity📕 The And Asset Book: https://bttr.ly/book💸 BetterWealth Quiz: https://bttr.ly/quiz👪 AndAsset.com: https://bttr.ly/andasset🎥 BetterWealth Youtube - https://bttr.ly/bwyoutube🤵🏼 Financial Advisor, Agent or Coach: https://bttr.ly/advisor

Why I Agree with Dave Ramsey On Life Insurance Being a Bad Investment
In today's BetterWealth episode, I talk about why I agree with Dave Ramsey on Life Insurance being a bad investment…. For some! Going back to the archives I have pulled out a clip I did during a Q&A session on the Podcast LIVE last year and I wanted to bring this topic backup again. Dave Ramsey is speaking to an audience of people in debt, who need to cut up credit cards, stop spending more than they make and that is a good thing, in which I have a lot of respect. However, for those who want to get wealthy and develop principles for building wealth, Dave Ramsey is wrong. Again, I agree with Dave that life insurance can be a bad investment for some, and it can be a bad investment when it is not set up or used properly, but his principles are big roadblocks for building wealth. #BETTERWEALTHFor more information on BetterWealth or the content you hear on the Podcast visit us at www.betterwealth.com/podcast.#BetterWealth📞 Free 15 Minute Clarity Call: https://bttr.ly/ytclarity📕 The And Asset Book: https://bttr.ly/book💸 BetterWealth Quiz: https://bttr.ly/quiz👪 AndAsset.com: https://bttr.ly/andasset🎥 BetterWealth Youtube - https://bttr.ly/bwyoutube🤵🏼 Financial Advisor, Agent or Coach: https://bttr.ly/advisor

Warren Buffett Is Sitting On Over 145 Billion In Cash
Warren Buffet is sitting on over $145 Billion in CASH….In today's BetterWealth episode, I talk about Warren Buffett and Naval Ravikant and the golden rule “Those who have the gold make the rules.” People of influence like Warren Buffett are making things happen usually because they have control over their time and access to great capital. How did they create their wealth? Listen as I talk about why entrepreneurs and those growing wealth have a better understanding of control and leverage. Successful people have a cadence of patience for the future, and with their access and control of capital they tend to capitalize on growing their wealth even more when the opportunity presents itself. Naval Ravikant in his book “The Almanack of Naval Ravikant” and his quote “If you are willing to bleed a little every day you may win big later.” Are we positioned in a way that we can take action on something that will change our lives in the future. The True Cost of Paying Cash
What is the cost of paying cash?In today's BetterWealth episode, I share with you two shorter videos I did a while back that demonstrate the power of opportunity cost. It is important to understand that whatever decisions we make today, there are always short term and long term effects. When we make the decision to transfer our money to purchase something such as a car, house, coffee, clothes, etc. there are long term effects. Once you transfer that dollar you are giving up what that dollar could be doing for you the rest of your life. In this episode I show you the effect of opportunity cost as I use an example using a program called Circle of Wealth. Watch as I look at two different examples. The first video is on opportunity cost and the thousands that can be lost over time when buying a car with cash. Your Lifetime Wealth and Money Potential
The true value of long term wealth potential. In today's Better Wealth episode, I want to illustrate the value of long term wealth potential by sharing a video I did 3 years ago. Be sure to join us on our BetterWealth YouTube Channel to watch the video and see my demonstration on the Truth Concepts Calculator. We are so often caught up in the short term transactions and we don’t understand how much we are actually going to make over a lifetime and what the value of that is going to be. Today I show you a video I did over 3 years ago using a calculator by Truth Concept which shows you the truth about math. What you will see is that BetterWealth has been consistent with our message. Listen as I discuss these three points. First, You are your greatest asset and the number one thing bringing money into your life is your ability to work or create value in the world. Do You Suffer From Recency Bias
Emotional decisions most likely come from recency bias. In today's Better Wealth Breakdown, Dan and I talk about the topic of “Recency Bias” which is the concept that whatever information you most recently consume becomes the thing that you tend to consume your thoughts, discussion and conversations immediately after. Usually recency bias is a key factor why we make more emotional decisions and then have it fade away so quickly. Dan and I challenge listeners to ask “Where in your life can you relate to recency bias?” Also, I suggest that the solution to recency bias is being really clear on what your outcomes are and being clear on what you should be saying yes to and then saying no to.
