Sophie Weill
Welcome to the Active Ingredient Podcast, your destination for all things inner exploration, growth, connection, and curiosity. I'm your host, Sophie Weill, and I am a deeply curious human who believes that every single person on earth has their own unique and beautiful core essence, which is what I call your ingredient. And our job here is to uncover what that is and choose to activate it every single day. Howard Thurman said it best. "Don't ask what the world needs. Ask what makes you come alive. Because what the world needs is more people who have come alive." So let's do that. Hosted on Acast. Permission to REST

This week's solo is all about rest, giving yourself permission to rest/slow down, why it feels so uncomfortable and counter-culture to do so in this country and why choosing it is an act of resistance that helps build our inner trust muscle <3 Link to Lo's Episode: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/intuition-fascia-flow-and-liberation-with-lo-roxburgh/id1466712918?i=1000676472211Link to Beginning Again Episode: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/beginning-again-and-again-we-back/id1466712918?i=1000670388658Give the gift of Autobiographer using code ACTIVE20 for 20% off your subscription: https://www.autobiographer.com/gift Hosted on Acast. Intuition, fascia, flow and liberation with Lo Roxburgh

Intuition, fascia, flow and liberation with Lo Roxburgh

This week's episode is with returning guest, Lo Roxburgh, who is a world renowned fascia expert, author and movement educator. Her expertise is in fascia which is the layer of tissue directly beneath the skin that surrounds and supports muscles, organs, and other structures throughout the body. It plays a huuuuge role in how we alchemize stuck/old energy into liberation/expansion and is the communication network of the body (some also refer to fascia as the subconscious mind that lives underneath the skin). In this episode we are getting into the role fascia plays in our overall heath, tuning into our bodies, leaning into and trusting the feminine, sharpening our intuition, allowing for fluidity in both our bodies and our lives, the role emotional intelligence will play in the age of AI and so much more. I actually had another episode slated for this week but I decided to push this one up because at this moment in time learning how to listen to and lean on our own bodies/breath is truly one of if not the most important things for us to be prioritizing so that we can first and foremost process and then also take action in ways that feel aligned to us. Enoughness, leaning into the feminine and showing up

Enoughness, leaning into the feminine and showing up

I'm not gonna lie...I struggled heavy to get on the mic this week. I procrastinated it to the last moment and didn't know what I was going to talk about this week (was feeling majorly blocked) but what did come through when I finally sat down to record was that showing up to do it even though I wasn't feeling it/had no clue what I wanted this episode to be about is in and of itself the win and enough for me. In this episode I'm talking about accepting that showing up doesn't necessarily mean showing up 10/10 every second of every day, about leaning into and trusting the feminine, the general concept of enoughness and defining whatever that is FOR YOU and why.Autobiographer Link Here: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/autobiographer/id6469733133Use code ACTIVE20 for 20% off your subscriptionLink to my IG: https://www.instagram.com/sophieiweill/ Hosted on Acast. Living with grief while transforming it into purpose with Mimi Ghandour

This week's conversation is one of the most profound conversations I have honestly ever had in my life on or off the podcast. I'm joined by my friend and my yoga teacher Mimi Ghandour who is truly one of the strongest people I have ever known. Late last year on December 11th 2023, Mimi lost her beautiful 12 year daughter, Hala, who was born with a muscular disease that came with a life expectancy of 2 years old. While Hala's story is one of deep pain and grief it is also a story of unconditional and transcendent love. It's about unwavering faith, resilience and choice. It's about living with grief and allowing it to transform into even more purpose. And it's about showing up even when we have every excuse not to.For any of you listening that are going through/living with grief I am sending you so so much love. Mimi's first Active Ingredient Episode: Making hard choices for an easier lifeMimi's second Active Ingredient Episode: Stepping on your mat and into your powerConnect with Mimi Connect with Sophie Hosted on Acast. The Fear of Being Seen

The Fear of Being Seen

We have a solo today and the theme of this week's show is about something that I think a lot of us can relate to, which is about the fear of being seen. It's a fear that is so deeply embedded in our systems and is one that takes bringing it to the surface, facing it and understanding it head on in order to move with/through it with the intent of no longer letting it stop us from being fully seen and fully known which turns out is actually the safest place to be in. Processing in and through the body with Anne-Marie Duchêne

I cannot tell you how excited I am to share this week's episode with you. I've been dying to release it from the moment we finished the conversation. The guest of the show this week is Ann-Marie Duchêne who is my body worker who specializes in structural integration via fascial release (her specific schooling is called Hellerwork which we get into in the show). She spent the first 10 years of her career traveling the world for Cirque du Soleil as their first-ever Dance Specialist Artistic Talent Scout - scouting the globe for the best dance/vocal/music/clowning talent on the planet before embarking on her unprecedented career pivot into structural integration work and has been practicing and perfecting her craft for the past 20 years. In this episode we're getting into what processing in and through the body actually even means, what structural integration work is exactly, how to tune into our bodily cues, how everything in the body (and beyond) is interconnected and the role that fascia, which is our connective tissue that is the layer right beneath our skin, plays in the communication within the body. How to get in contact with Anne-Marie: artofalignmentacademy.com/contact/People/tools references:Ida Rolf: rolf.orgGil Hedley: gilhedley.comMelt Method/Sue Hitzmann: meltmethod.comLo Roxburgh: laurenroxburgh.comAmy Colesby California Practitioner: aimeekolsby.comHow to connect with me: IG: @sophieiweill Autobiographer App (use code: ACTIVE20 for 20% off your subscription): https://apps.apple.com/us/app/autobiographer/id6469733133 Hosted on Acast. Beginning again. And again. WE BACK

Beginning again. And again. WE BACK

Ahhhhh Active Ingredient is officially back! I MISSED YOU and doing this so much. Truly. Today's solo is an update on what's been going on with me since taking space from the pod, what to expect from the show moving forward, some big fat learnings I've had during this time, the importance of actually applying the the things that you're learning and experimenting with them, giving yourself (and myself) permission to begin again (and again and again and again), remembering why we do any of this work to begin with and doubling down on the things that feel TRUE/continuing to shed anything that no longer fits. ALSO - at the end of the episode I'm introducing our new presenting sponsor, Autobiographer (!!!) Autobiographer is the first-of-its-kind app that uses an AI guide to help you capture and preserve your life story. Healing acne, shifting negative thought patterns and nourishing the skin/gut with Acne Nutritionist Maria Marlowe

Healing acne, shifting negative thought patterns and nourishing the skin/gut with Acne Nutritionist Maria Marlowe

This week's interview is with the incredible Maria Marlowe also known as the Acne Nutritionist who is a certified holistic nutritionist and founder of my now go-to probiotic called Glow Biome. Her skin nourishing recipes and insights have been featured in the New York Times, Vogue and so many other outlets. I am just such a fan of Maria's, what she does and creates and how she educates in such a thoughtful way on a topic that most of us (including me) have felt very helpless on. In this episode we're getting into where acne is coming from, what our skin is trying to tell us/how we can listen to the inner communication going on, the connection between our gut health and our skin health, the pros/cons of medication and most importantly we get into the mindset shifts that we can all gently work towards to move from a place of being at war or at battle with our skin to a more loving, nurturing and patient place to ultimately listen and then act on what we hear.*GIVEAWAY* - if this episode resonates with you, post the episode to your stories on Instagram tagging me (@sophieiweill) and Maria (@mariamarlow) and we will be selecting 3 listeners to receive Glow Biome which is the best probiotic for acne prone skin on the market that I have been taking for the past few months. Link to Maria's IG: https://www.instagram.com/mariamarlowe/Link to Glow Biome: https://www.kumaglow.co/products/glow-biomeLink to Maria's 3 day plan: https://mariamarlowe.com/clear-skin-plan/Link to Sophie's IG: https://www.instagram.com/sophieiweill/Link to Active Ingredient YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCZKo8SEpPpcGXCsf_F-Uo2QLink to Active Ingredient's IG: https://www.instagram.com/activeingredient/ Hosted on Acast. There are no coincidences

There are no coincidences

This week's episode is about the very real fact that there are no coincidences and that if you've recently lost a job, a client, someone in your life, etc. you are making space to bring in something that is more aligned to this version of you. If you stay open enough to see/receive them, the synchronicities/"coincidences" are all around and they're happening for you. If there's one thing I've learned to trust is that when you let go of something that is no longer yours, a) it never was and b) you're making space for what is. This week's solo is inspired by my most recent trip to Tenerife where I was reminded about the power of choosing to bloom wherever it is that you're planted. If you've been considering moving jobs, cities, changing your circumstances, this solo is a good reminder that you're in full choice to bloom currently. Evolving relationships, learning to trust yourself and tolerating discomfort with Sadaf Siddiqi

This week's episode is one I am truly so proud of and can honestly say is up there in my favorite episodes released to date. We have Sadaf Siddiqi on the show who is a psychotherapist, creator (I highly recommend the follow by the way) and founder of Being, a digital mental health brand and private practice. In this week's episode we are discussing so many topics that are very top of mind/soul for me like how our relationships evolve when we are committed to personal growth and development, how to grow our tolerance for discomfort, how to allow two conflicting emotions to exist at the same time, understanding the process of self soothing and tangible steps to build your self trust muscle. If you enjoyed this episode/found it to be valuable, I would really appreciate you giving the show 5 stars wherever you listen (especially on Apple Podcasts or Spotify) as it genuinely helps the show grow and get in front of people who could benefit from these convos. Building Your Brand in an Aligned Way SOLO

This episode is a deep dive on exactly how I think about brand building in an intentional and aligned way. I'm going over 6 steps to brand building and I do get pretty niche here so it might be good to get a paper and pen for this one to actually write down the answers that come up for you in each of the steps. If you're reading this I want you to know that your brand/product/service (if created from a true/aligned place of course) absolutely deserves to be seen and heard and the world needs to hear it! Community healing, finding connection, and power in self with Vanessa Cornell

This week's episode is with Vanessa Cornell, who is the founder of Nushu, a community healing destination with online offerings, as well as in person gatherings in New York, as well as retreats. This whole platform was born out of Vanessa's own personal disconnection from herself after a lifetime of being a high achiever. This was such an incredible conversation and I feel like a lot of her story resonated with my own. Those who could fall under the perfectionist or recovering perfectionist camp or have struggled with people pleasing will feel very seen and validated by Vanessa's work. In this episode, we get into the concept of having the capacity to hold two contradicting truths at the same time, unlearning perfectionism, the power of community and being witnessed, the gratitude trap and what that is, the privilege of being able to do the work and the responsibility that comes with it, and having patience with the process while allowing our bodies time to catch up with our minds. This was such an impactful conversation that I hope resonates with our community as much as it did with me.Code for Behrhaus is ACTIVE for 15% off - https://behrhaus.com/First Heatwise class FREE if you use code ACTIVE at checkout - https://www.heatwise-studio.com/Resources:Nushu Group website - https://nushu.com/Nushi community events - https://linktr.ee/nushuVanessa's Instagram: @vanessacornellSophie's Instagram: @sophieiweillFollow us on Instagram: @ActiveIngredient •Connect with the community on Geneva: HERE Hosted on Acast.
