self-aware leader what is up everyone today's the day isn't it let's go we're going to talk about spiritual path to transformation and i have a 12 stage journey we're going to get into
Something that may be a little controversial to some of you, spirituality, and you can tune me off right now.Click, click, click, you're done.Go on to the next podcast.I do have a spiritual podcast. It's called Higher Density Living.
It's Higher Density Living. It's a CEO of a tech company, Alexander McKagan, myself. We talk about spiritual things, Rudolf Steiner, a lot of Billy Meyer. We get into UFOs, all different kinds of things.Super cool.
So I'd encourage you to look at that podcast. It's Higher Density Living. So I'm gonna do a little bit of that today.I think it'll be interesting.I want to talk about awakening awareness as a self-aware leader.
I think the first thing we have to look at when we want to awaken awareness is understanding and admitting our limitations. And this is tough for our ego, isn't it?Our ego wants to say, we can do it all.I got this.No worries.
I'm all strength, no weakness. We're going to, we're going to, you know, we're just going to plow through the wall. And sometimes that's useful, isn't it?
In competition, different things like that to push yourself to go farther, but that's not sustainable. And when you understand and also admit openly your limitations, guess what happens?
You can start working to be holistic and have a business that's not just hiring people that are cheerleaders or people that are just like you, little mini yous, but you can hire people specifically to handle those limitations so you don't have to do those things.
That's the whole idea.If you hate accounting and you hate numbers, The first person you're going to hire is somebody that knows how to handle numbers.
You can hire somebody that can do a part time or you can go talk to a firm and spend a little bit extra money and have them, you know, our local person that has high ratings that you can say, Hey, can you do everything for my business financially wise?
I want you to handle it.I want you to help me with that.I suck at that, but I'm really good at sales or I'm really good at marketing, whatever it may be.And if you suck at one of those, you want to hire somebody that can handle that.
But you have to understand in a minute. And then next is realizing that our current path is unsustainable. What you're doing right now doesn't work if you're not happy physically, mentally, spiritually, and emotionally.
And you need to look at those four things in your life.Emotionally, how do you feel as a leader?Physically, like for me physically, I weighed 50 pounds more than I weigh right now. I had to say, guess what, Jason? It's not working what you're doing.
You're eating shitty food and drinking beer every single day. You're not the best that you can be as a leader for your family, for those that you work with, for your children, for your girlfriend, whatever it may be.It's not working.
It is unsustainable. So I had to realize that I need to take a different path.I can't follow that path any longer.I had to do that with my religion. The religion I was in was kind of more of a fundamentalist type Baptist, very strict.
You couldn't even listen to music that had any type of beat in it and had no drums. You can only listen to like hymns and stuff like that. Most women wore dresses. They wouldn't wear pants or anything and not very much makeup.
That path was unsustainable. It wasn't right. It was misinterpreting the scriptures in the Bible. And you can get an argument with me on that if you want.
But it was just literally taking every verse literal, which is taking something literal is the easiest way. It's not HD.
When you can take something and look at it in a historical context, when you can take something and look at it in a metaphorical context, when you can take something and look at it and say, what's the deeper meaning here?
What's the truth that I can assimilate from this? And then let me look at that it's a translation, that it comes from Hebrew or Greek.
And when you go through that, instead of just reading something in an English translation and just saying, okay, we can't mix cotton and wool together because Deuteronomy says this, okay, well then I can only have organic cotton clothes.
These paths that we have are unsustainable. And we need to see what they're rooted in.A lot of times they're rooted in, either for me, ignorance, it was rooted in past with what my family believed in, so I believed in.
And Jason 2.0 is a different person than Jason 1.0.Every seven years we get new cells, we have a whole new body. And then next for awakening awareness is exercises and self-awareness and mindfulness.
And I talk about this all the time, so I'm not gonna get into this real heavily. But what does it look like to ask yourself self-aware questions constantly? If you're getting angry, ask yourself why? Ask yourself if this is a false belief or a trigger.
What's going on?Why am I getting angry and emotional for no reason right now?I do that all the time. Why am I feeling depressed?
And then mindfulness, being mindful, like not passing judgment on the emotion, just closing your eyes, taking a deep breath, just relax, just doing that alone.
Taking a breath and relaxing and being mindful, that alone can solve a shitload of problems. Just doing that, just taking two seconds to relax is huge.Just try that.Just, okay, no, I'm not going to go rush up out of my seat and go yell at the person.
Let me take a deep breath.Let me relax. Why am I so irritated at this person right now?Oh, it's a mirror reflecting back on my weakness. Oh, I really know I haven't done a good job in training them.
I really know that I haven't spent the time that I should and I'm expecting them to do something that I can't.This is a problem I always see, especially with business owners. They think that everybody should think like them. You're the business owner.
They're an employee. They would be a business owner if they thought like you. The minute you understand that, the minute that it liberates you to, it's two different roles.A cat's not going to be a dog and a dog's not going to be a cat.
Make a cat try to act like a dog and see what happens.Herding cats, we've heard that before, right?Number two, number one was awakening awareness.Number two is recognizing universal connection.Accepting that a greater wisdom of energy can guide us.
There is an energy, there is a greater wisdom.I believe it's my higher self.Me in the future looking back, that's enlightened and perfectly at peace and full of love, is looking back and not going against my free will but guiding me.
So when I pray, I pray to my higher self. And that may be new to you or maybe you disagree with that. But that's my theology that I have for myself. And so I accept this greater wisdom.
Maybe for you it's God, maybe for you it's Allah, maybe for you it's a religion that you believe, whatever it is, Mother Mary, whatever it is, what's that greater wisdom or energy that can guide you?
You need to start tapping into that, something that's greater than you. You're not the end all be all.Even if you're an atheist, there's so many different things that you can look at.Ancient wisdom, Stoicism, whatever it may be.
Find something that's greater than you.And then I encourage you to recognize your universal connection.Explore various spiritual traditions and beliefs.Read different books that are out of your norm.
If you like Western esotericism, read books about that.If you like Eastern mysticism, Read books about that.
If you have never read a book on Catholicism or being what Martin Luther did, you know, back in the day in the Reformation, or even understanding, you know, all the gods in India and the Greek gods, get some books and start reading on that.
Explore things that are outside of you.Explore things that are outside of your limited beliefs, because we all have very limited beliefs. Our perception and our reality makes our beliefs right and our thoughts.
And we're not the end all be all by any means.Next, meditation practices to connect with the universe. This recognizes that universal connection.Take the time.Maybe meditation for you is being on a stair-stepper.
Maybe meditation for you is walking slowly and just trying to focus. You don't have to be in the lotus position sitting on a rice pillow and having incense burning with somebody playing a brass cymbal. We always get caught up in the minutiae of
making things to try to be perfect and to get all the things, and that's just the ego tricking you with spirituality.Meditation can be so many different ways. It's being present, being in that present moment.
Eckhart Tolle, if you've never heard of him, I encourage you to get his books.Eckhart Tolle. Is his name amazing? It will change your life. His books will change your life.He talks about just being present. What does that look like, just being present?
Number three is embracing surrender, letting go of control and trusting the process. This is so hard as a leader, isn't it?A lot of times we don't trust the process.I'm going to say this and I'm going to be blunt when I say this.
A lot of times we don't trust the process because we're winging it and we're thinking our ego can handle it because it's handled it before and we can figure it out.
But if the process, if you've took the time to build the systems out, to coach people like you're supposed to, you can trust the process and you can let go of control and allow your people to lead like they should.
You're like, Jason, I don't have a leader.Yes, you do.I guarantee you have people in your organization, every single one of them, where you can allow them to do the things that they're good at.
Have you ever asked one of your employees, what are you amazing at that we're not using right now?Think about that. What are you amazing at that we here are not using right now?Ask your employees that.See what happens.
I got that from a NASA, a high up official in NASA.He used to ask employees that.Letting go of control.Trust the process.Put the process out there. You can trust things when you've gone over it a thousand times, literally.
Alex Ramos, he talks about this.He goes, the reason you're nervous in a speech, cause you haven't gone over it enough times.
If you go over it to where it makes you literally sick, go over your presentation hundreds and hundreds of times, multiple times a day for 90 days before. And you're consistently do that. And you know, every freaking word.
And you're like, Oh my God, this I could, when you go out there, you're not going to be as nervous. Why?Because you're confident, you know, you can trust the process because you did this a thousand times.
Next is developing faith in a higher self or universal intelligence. And I talked about that, and I talk about that a lot on my podcast.Developing a faith in a higher self. There is a universal intelligence. It's proven.Physics has proven it.
Science has proven this. There was so much that we do not know.Even just our eyesight alone, we can only see like point percent of the color spectrum. Not including the sounds that we cannot hear.
We're basically, they said, walking through the universe blind as a bat. All our senses are hardly anything. So to base all of your life off of, well, this is my reality. What is your reality?
They even said there's multiple dimensions with multiple use in it, operating at the same time. And some dimensions aren't bound by space and time. That's science guys. What the fuck is that?So guess what? There's a universal intelligence out there.
The matrix is real.Next is practical techniques for surrendering ego. Find a way to get rid of it.For me, it's like when I feel that emotion, it's not real.I tell myself, I snap my fingers and say, this is not real, Jason. This is not real.
What is real? You showing love. That's what's real. You figuring out the problem before you react and act like an idiot.Find practical techniques for surrendering ego.
These are all things, these are three of them, and I have 12 of them, so we're gonna go through this slowly, but we're gonna be done for today.
I want you to understand, awakening awareness, recognizing universal connection, and embracing surrender, these three things can help you out tremendously on that spiritual path to transformation.
