62: From the Time of KahlessKeith R.A. DeCandido
talks The Klingon Art of War.
Every Star Trek fans knows the Klingons, and every fan of TNG
onward has heard of Kahless. We know that Klingons are warriors,
but what has shaped their society into one that lives for the
battle? Passed down from the time of Kahless, ten precepts have
shaped Klingon culture and indoctrinated Klingons in the way of the
warrior. Unfortunately, we don't all read Klingon; and so these
precepts have eluded us. No longer.
In this episode of Literary Treks hosts Matthew Rushing and
Christopher Jones are joined by author Keith DeCandido to discuss
his new translation that allows people from all walks of life—and
all worlds—to harness ancient Klingon wisdom and learn to embody
courage, discipline, and honor.
In our news segment we also bring you a review of John Byrne's
new photo comic, "The Mirror, Cracked," which follow up on the
classic TOS episode "Mirror, Mirror."
