This Week: SB2095 was signed into law by Governor Tate Reeves on February 2, 2022. Municipalities and Counties have 90 days to opt out of the program. With that deadline rapidly approaching, Melinda called Lee Yancey, the House Representative who worked with the author of the bill, Senator Kevin Blackwell to ensure that the wishes of the House were considered in the bill. In the process of crafting the bill, Representative Yancey has become an expert on the subject of Mississippi's new Medical Cannabis Law. Melinda and Representative Yancey talk about who can use medical cannabis, who can grow and process it, who can distribute it, and how cities and counties can opt out of the program.
