146: A Mess of ThompsonsBurden of Knowledge.
The Original Series is an era of Star Trek that lends itself to
being depicted in the pages of a comic book: bright colors and
outlandish plots all make for entertaining comic stories! However,
what makes these stories quintessential Star Trek is the fact that
on top of being entertaining, they give us the opportunity to think
about issues in a way that other forms of entertainment don’t.
In this episode of Literary Treks hosts Matthew Rushing and Dan
Gunther are joined by Bruce Gibson to talk about the Star Trek
comics Burden of Knowledge. We discuss the artwork, Uncertain
Perceptions, A Failure to Communicate, A Matter of Perspective, The
Burden of Knowledge and our ratings.
In the news segment we talk about the last issue of Starfleet
Academy and the first issue of Manifest Destiny.
