While Walt Disney Pictures may be most widely known for their animated films, Walt quickly learned that live action films are quicker and cheaper to make, and help bring in money so he could make more animated movies. So, from 1946 onwards, Disney has made hundreds of live action films! With so many to their credit, though, not all of them are gems. In fact, most of them are pretty forgettable. But worry not! Geek Salad is here to go over some of the best, and worst, of the lot in Geek Salad episode 166: Song of the - Part 1.
Join Andy, Mike, and Joe as they go decade by decade, discussing some of the shining gems, and some of the not so shining duds. As what usually happens with Disney-related episodes, though, they did go on a bit long. Thus, the episode is split in half, with Part 1 going from the 1940s to the 1970s.
Do you love Mary Poppins? Do you remember The Gnome-Mobile? Did the banshee in Darby O'Gill and the Little People scare you as much as it did our intrepid hosts? If you answered "Yes" to any of these questions, then this episode is for you! If you answered "No", then go ahead and listen, anyway. We're all inclusive!
