The Perfect Morning Routine: Business Edition (4 Secrets To Efficiency)
A morning routine is the one thing that can help you be more productive in your personal and professional life. If you’re wanting to be more efficient during your day, then a morning routine is the solution and you don’t have to be a morning person to have one. Whether you’re running a business or just starting one, my morning routine is going to help you move the needle in your business and it all starts with the first 15 minutes of your day. A morning routine can not only instill confidence in you, but it can help you get more done. Mornings are a secret weapon. What we’re talking about How To Create A Morning Routine The First Thing To Do When You Get Up – Celebrate Yourself What Makes Or Breaks Your Productivity & How To Move The Needle In Your Business How To Create A Morning Routine If you’re a night owl like me, then creating a morning routine might sound not only daunting, but impossible. The secret to a creating a morning routine is to implement it in a simple 15 minute increment. Your morning routine doesn’t need to start at 5am, nor does it have to extremely long, and if you’re not a morning person, create a trigger the night before that will get you up and going. Your trigger can be your coffee being ready before you get up, your outfit ready to go and it definitely should be written down on your calendar! The First Thing To Do When You Get Up – Celebrate Yourself The first thing you should do every morning is celebrate yourself. You need to celebrate your wins…before you look at your emails and before you check your to do list. Take 3 minutes and write down 5 things you have accomplished in the past 24 hours. Celebrating is different than gratitude because it forces you to recognize the things you are doing well. After you’ve celebrated yourself, write down one thing that you could do that day that will not only make a difference to you, but make you feel proud when you go to bed at night. What Makes Or Breaks Your Productivity & How To Move The Needle In Your Business The way you will be productive and move the needle in your business is by coming from a place of abundance by recognizing all that you have already done. I love to tell people that the best salespeople will drive to a meeting and right after they get out of the car, they congratulate themselves on a fabulous parking job. Appreciating what you’re good at before tackling all you need to do is going to move the needle in your business and in your life. Are you ready to start your morning routine? Cathy Heller, host of the Don’t Keep Your Day Job podcast (with 10MM downloads) AND best-selling author of Don’t Keep Your Day Job: How To Turn Your Passion Into Your Career is back for her second interview and is talking about the grassroots beginning of her business and podcast. You guys - it;s SO GOOD. Cathy shares how she started her podcast by simply interviewing a friend with a bakery to her most recent guest, Colbie Cailat (yes, THE Colbie Cailat) plus how she launched her podcast just 10 days after her daughter was born (holy cow!). Cathy is business smart and full of soul - she offers the exact steps you need to take to turn your business idea into a product or service that people truly want and need and the importance of building relationships. Time is going to pass anyway, so you might as well start. What we’re talking about The Difference Between A Hobby And A Business Your Business Doesn’t Have To Be Perfect In Order To Launch Cathy Heller’s Advice on Starting A Business From Scratch (The first 5 Steps You Should Take) The Difference Between A Hobby And A Business The difference between a hobby and a business is that a hobby is something you do for yourself whereas a business is where you do something someone else needs or wants. Cathy says that people don’t buy “things,” they buy feelings and this is why it’s so important to create your business around your ideal client and to create and build a relationship with them. Your Business Doesn’t Have To Be Perfect In Order To Launch If you’ve got the attitude that it’s Beyoncé or Bust, as in you have to go all the way and do it perfectly or not at all, then you need to change your mindset. It’s ok to do it messy… in fact, that’s oftent the only way to start! You need to give yourself the grace to do it messy and simply start. Your business won’t be perfect from the get-go and that’s more than ok. The important thing to remember is to lean into what you want to do and go for it. Cathy Heller’s Advice on Starting A Business From Scratch (The first 5 Steps You Should Take) Cathy is giving her exact steps to how you should create your business. As with anything, it starts with an idea, but it’s what you do with the idea that is key. The next steps you take should include identifying who your business is for and showing up in the lives of those individuals to get their feedback. Once you validate your idea, test it and have a proof of concept, it’s time to price the offer and scale it. In doing all of this you need to find ways to show up for your ideal client and to build relationships. Are you ready to turn your passion into your career? But, how do you find your focus, especially when you have 100 things on your to do list? Start with a vision for what you want in your life, plan for it and then go after it. If finding time is part of the problem, then I’ve got a step-by-step guide to helping you not only find the time, but scheduling it during the perfect time. Life is too short not to go for it! What we’re talking about Push Your Dreams To Their Limits Do One Thing To Turn Your Dream Into A Reality Schedule It On Your Calendar Push Your Dreams To Their Limits As humans we have a lot of dreams and goals, but so often we only chase after the dreams that are the easiest ones to achieve. These dreams are the lowest hanging fruit which is why we go after them instead of figuring out what it takes to make our big dreams and goals a reality. In order to make the big dreams a reality, we have to push the dreams and ourselves to the ultimate limits. Do One Thing To Turn Your Dream Into A Reality What is one thing you can do this week to make your dream a reality? You need to focus on what’s important to you, whether it’s the work you do, your relationship with your spouse, or the way you spend your time. If you’re like me, you have a to do list a million miles long with 100 things on it, but honestly, only 98 of those things are actually important. Set aside the laundry in order to spend time on figuring out how you can actually achieve your goals and make that dream a reality. Schedule It On Your Calendar You’ve got your vision of what you want in your life, so it’s time to put it into action. Start by actually scheduling it on your calendar and do it in the morning hours. Whether it’s at 5am or 9am, schedule it during your golden time when your brain is wide awake. All you need is 15 minutes to start researching that new job you want or how to start the business you’ve always dreamed of. Starting with just 15 minutes is doable for all of us and will start to create a huge impact on accomplishing your dreams. You don’t have to do all the things. You just have to do the important things. LINKS MENTIONED Kelsey’s B-School Mastermind Waitlist Kelsey’s Guide on How To Plan Your Business

The #1 Phrase That Changed My Life
Let’s get personal…about mom guilt, how I do what I love, and how I manage to not work on Mondays and Fridays. I’ve been getting a lot of emails and DMs asking how I “do what I do,” and how I’ve created a business where I work 3 days a week and still manage to be present for my daughter and husband and friends. The truth is that life and my feelings about working and being a mom wasn’t and still isn’t always perfect. It’s taken work, support and the phrase, “You’re doing a great job,” that helps make it all happen. That one sentence has helped change my life and it can change yours too. You’re doing a great job! What we’re talking about Seasons Of Life Are Like Toddler Phases…Always Changing Celebrating Big And Small Wins The #1 Phrase That Can Change Lives Seasons Of Life Are Like Toddler Phases…Always Changing If you’ve raised a child, you know that toddler life is all about phases and life itself is a series of ever-changing seasons. Just when you think you’ve got it all figured out, something changes. As a mom, there are mornings in which I’m crying, my daughter is crying and it just feels like things aren’t going right. I’ve learned that one of the most important things is to have supportive people in your life. People who not only offer you valuable advice, but who also acknowledge your efforts and tell you that you’re doing a great job are important to be around. Celebrating Big and Small Wins Whether you’re a parent or are launching a new business or simply living life, it’s important to celebrate all of your wins each and every day, no matter how big or small. Some days it might seem like nothing went right and you’ve been spit up on, late to meetings and got honked at in traffic, but those are the days where you need to tell yourself that you did a great job simply by getting out of bed! The #1 Phrase That Can Change Lives The phrase that has changed my life, that can change your life and can help you change the lives of others is, “You’re doing a great job.” It’s truly that simple and yet, the impact those words can have are immense. You can literally change someone’s life by telling them they’re doing a great job. You can change your own life by reminding yourself that you’re doing a great job. Those words are a reminder and acknowledgement that we are seen and doing the best we can. Tell someone today that they’re doing a great job. The #1 Brain Trick To Become More Productive (Guided Visualizations 101)
The #1 brain trick to becoming more productive is visualization and science backs this fact! Some of the most successful people use visualization and it has been proven time and time again to work. Today we are going to discuss what exactly visualization is and how you can start practicing it today along with why you should be using this tool. Unsure of where to start? I’m teaching you how to practice visualization and have an amazing business planner that comes with a guided visualization. It’s time to start visualizing your success! What we’re talking about #1 Brain Trick To Be More Productive Most Important Reason Successful People Use Visualization & Why We Don’t Tips To How To Start Your Own Visualization #1 Brain Trick To Be More Productive Our brains cannot distinguish the difference between something actually happening and us simply imagining it happens. The brain not only produces the same chemical reaction but also has a filtering system which separates things around us that align with our belief system from those that don’t. This is one of the reasons why vision boards work so well…because you are training your brain to filter things that will help you achieve your goals. Most Important Reason Successful People Use Visualization & Why We Don’t What do Tiger Woods, Muhammad Ali, and Rachel Hollis have in common? They all use visualization techniques and it’s what has helped get them to where they are today! Tiger visualizes every golf ball going into the hole, Muhammad told himself and the world that he is the greatest athlete there ever was and Rachel envisioned speaking to huge crowds before she was famous. If it’s working for these successful people, then why aren’t all of us using visualization to help us succeed? The answer is simple…we don’t have a quick and efficient way to do it. Tips To Start Your Own Visualization If you’re now convinced that you should start visualizing what you want your future to look like, then here are some tips to start today. Turn on some inpsiring music and grab a pen and paper to keep close to you. Take a deep breath and start to envision what your best day, week, month and year would look like. What is happening in your life that has made this the best? Imagine everything from the ordinary to the extraordinary and where you want to be. Continue taking a few minutes every day or week to practice visualizing this and discover how your life will literally change. All it takes to start building your dreams is seeing them. How This Mama Built A 5-Hour-A-Week Business That Changes Lives {Featuring Lori Zanini}
Lori Zanini is a Registered Dietician, Author, and former national media spokesperson for the Academy of Nutrician and Dietetics who has built a business working just 5 hours a week while also being a wife and mom of 2. Lori turned her book, For The Love Of Diabetes into an online training program and created a course with her husband. She’s sharing how she went from creating an online sales funnel to automating her systems which now allows her to be in charge of her time and schedule, while spending quality time with her family. It is possible to change lives and not work full-time! What we’re talking about What It’s Like To Launch A Business And Work With Your Spouse Automating Your Business To Maximize Your Time Loving Your Work And Not Wanting To Retire What It’s Like To Launch A Business And Work With Your Spouse Lori wanted to create an online course to help increase her business and her husband was not only supportive of this idea, but decided to partner with her on it. He left his digital marketing job to help her create an online course and community. They moved away from their home to focus on their course creation, but the real work began when they moved back to reality and living their every day lives as working partners. Splitting responsibilities when it comes to work and parenting is key in working with your spouse and Lori explains how they were able to do this and be successful with two small children. Automating Your Business To Maximize Your Time Automating her business has been the key for Lori’s 5 hour work week. Lori explains step by step how the automation process works within her business from the sales funnel to the email sequence to course payment. Lori’s main work includes personally welcoming new clients and responding to all of the emails that come her way. Her goal is to make clients feel welcomed and supported while also ensuring she’s there for her husband and children and enjoying every moment with them. Loving Your Work And Not Wanting To Retire It’s not rare to hear people say they want to work enough to allow their spouse to retire or to make enough money that they can retire, but that’s not Lori’s goal. Lori and her husband’s goal was to work because they want to and to do things that are important to them. It’s important to find work you love doing and find worthwhile because it will ensure you don’t feel you are a slave to your job and that you are truly in charge of your own time. Do Your Friends Feed You Or Bleed You? 3 Warning Signs You Need New Friends
Friends should inspire you, but at some point you might find that you need more support in your friendships. Friends can either feed us or bleed us and it’s important to recognize when your growth has created a need for new friends. I’m not saying to drop your current friends, but you both might need some different inspiration that you simply can’t give each other. Whether you’re in a 9-5 and wanting to break free, or 35, dating and looking for examples of relationships that are solid, the key to finding support and inspiration is to surround yourself with people who have what you are striving for. Get ready to discover if your friends are feeding you or if it’s time to find some new ones! What we’re talking about Are Your Friends Holding You Back From Pursuing Your Dreams? What Kind Of Effect Do Friends Have On Your Ability To Follow Through? 3 Warning Signs That You Need New Friends Are Your Friends Holding You Back From Pursuing Your Dreams? Relationships are all about communication and finding common ground, but what happens when you aren’t finding those commonalities? If you’re ready to start a new business and get out of your 9-5, but your coworkers don’t understand why you would want to leave their epic workplace, then it’s time to start looking for people who are like-minded and want to also do more than stay in the corporate rat race. It’s not their fault that they enjoy where they are, but in order for you to find inspiration to chase your dreams, you need to surround yourself with friends who have similar dreams. What Kind Of Effect Do Friends Have On Your Ability To Follow Through? I’m sharing the story of being at my corporate 9-5 and dreaming about starting my own business while my coworkers couldn’t understand why I would possibly want to leave. My client, Eryn is 35 and feels like there’s no hope for her in finding a husband and having a lasting relationship because she is surrounded by people who met in college or got married in their 20’s. Adding to your group of friends will not only change your mindset, but open your eyes to new possibilities. Friendships change, grow and evolve as the years go by, but it’s important to allow yourself to grow and find others who will grow with you. 3 Warning Signs That You Need New Friends There are 3 warning signs you should look for that will tell you it’s time to find new friends. The first sign is when you start to judge your friends. You become negative about them instead of recognizing that you’re simply in different places in your life. The second warning sign is you have friends that are providing the wrong evidence you need in your life right now. An example is when you want to see that it’s possible to get married in your 30’s and find love and have a family, but all of your friends got married much earlier in life and there are no examples of love later on. The third warning sign if you’re not walking away feeling like a better human after hanging out with your friends. If you feel negative, then it’s time to re-evaluate who you are spending time with. The story of how he came into my life is one of a podcast and the love of whiskey (or whisky as Matthew prefers). He is sharing his best tips for selling, selling through emails and for finding different ways to network and connect. Matthew is genuine, 100% authentic, honest, and frank. What we’re talking about Figuring Out Who You Are When You Are Writing Emails The Importance Of Creating Emails That Provoke A Reaction The Story Of How Matthew And Kelsey Met Figuring Out Who You Are When You Are Writing Emails The absolute worst advice you can follow is when you hear people say that you should just be yourself when it comes to writing emails. Instead, you should focus on being the best polished version of yourself when you create content and send email your subscribers. Matthew shares how he has a work persona in the form of James Bond and often asks himself how James would react in certain situations. The Importance Of Creating Emails That Provoke A Reaction All of the emails you send should have a call to action, but even more importantly, they should provoke a reaction by the reader. Matthew wants you to ensure that your emails make people click, reply or even simply give your dog a hug. Your call to action doesn’t have to be a grand gesture, but can simply be that you want the reader to think about something specific. The Story Of How Matthew And Kelsey Met A genuine love for whiskey, or whisky and work is what brought Matthew and Kelsey together. Matthew was ready to launch his podcast which he wanted to call Work & Whisky and it wasn’t until he had it on iTunes that he saw the Whiskey & Work podcast pop up. We all have unresolved issues and unprocessed trauma which creates limiting beliefs and in order to get past all of that and heal ourselves, we must surround ourselves with love and connections. Healing is the application of love to the places inside that hurts. Focus On Your Journey, Not Your Destination In a world filled with WiFi and the idea that multitasking and hustling is the only way to succeed, we need to shift our focus to find greater human connection and live life with intention. If you start to focus on your journey and not simply the destination, you’ll be less emotional and more intentional, Christine finds the key to growth and healing is in living a life with intention which often can be taken away when you multitask. Discovering Live In-Person Events To Accelerate Your Growth A great way to discover human connection is by going to live events which provide safe spaces.
