It's Time - The Story Of Reinvention Part 1

This episode was a long time coming. I realized I still owe you my own Reinvention story to share (or at least the first part of it today). What shaped my life the way it is today, and what influenced me during my life under communism? Nobody told me that failures are part of growth, then. If I failed, I wasn't praised for "trying", I was made aware that I screwed up big time so I better never try again. That was my upbringing. It still occasionally stops me in my tracks. But I walked a long, long way since that time, and far away from the small village in the Czech Republic. We all have those moments that change our direction. Some have a few, some plenty. Some intentional, some unpredictable. How powerful they are when looking back, realizing YOU DID overcome it, something amazing came out of it and your life is better for it. We all come to situations when we need to remind ourselves of those strong moments. Especially when facing something hard, when we feel like the end of the world when we can't make a decision or move on ... it pays to stop, sit back and remind yourself that YES - there were super hard moments in your life before. And not only you survived it, you turned it around, and found the strength to take charge. It will remind you of your power. That's the whole reason I do this podcast - sharing stories that turned someone's life upside down - and what seemed like an impossible obstacle turned into a great new opportunity. Today I'm sharing some key moments from my life. Some that I'm proud of and some that I'm not so proud of. No filter. I believe it serves us all to remember who we once were, and what we accomplished. That should be the only reason for looking back. Tune in tonight, and let me know what you think. If you feel inspired, please share this episode with someone who may need to hear it! Today's show is audio only. I Had That Feeling But I Didn’t Trust It

I Had That Feeling But I Didn’t Trust It

Our today's guest may seem out of the theme. After all, Nicole Starbuck is a founder of an Auracle Academy, a psychic empath, a quantum energy healer, a spiritual mentor, and a life coach! I think you would agree with me that these things may be a big part of reinventing and a healing process - depending on where you're on the journey. Nicole is empowering people to ignite their intuition and supercharge their psychic skills so that they can make their dreams a reality. As expected, this was another great conversation where we covered - among others:   What happened when she denied the gifts How does one become a psychic and who wasn’t happy about it in her life How could this link to chronic illness, mental health issues, disease, and/or possibly help? How may working with a psychic help you stop second-guessing, dealing with stress and overwhelm, and lead you into life of a freedom and in a flow? How did she deal with her out-of-control state of mind? What did we both share about taking a "shower time"? Nicole generously shared many valuable tips that can help you start on the journey (if you're not ready to reach out for help). Here are some of Nicole's pearls of wisdom: "Most people are asleep (they have chosen to stay asleep) small percentage of people wake up and realize THERE has to be another way!" "We're literally searching for HOME, all of us" "Let me control what I can because I felt so out of control with my emotions" "Feel the fear, do it anyway!"Tune in and share with others if you're so compelled! We'll appreciate it!!!If you want to get in touch with Nicole, here is her contact information: WEBSITE   FACEBOOK    YOUTUBE     LINKEDIN         INSTAGRAM    PSYCHIC SCHOOLWATCH THIS EPISODE ON YOUTUBEDisclaimer:Any opinions stated on this podcast are personal opinions of the host or guests and are meant for information only. Fool Me Once, It's On You, Fool Me Twice, It's On Me

Fool Me Once, It's On You, Fool Me Twice, It's On Me

In this episode, we had an amazing conversation with the one and only Dr. David Silverman, a retired Foot Surgeon who built a successful private practice and Maryland Certified Ambulatory Surgery Center practice only to soon realize that he was meant for something more in life. More compact, a bigger purpose... As this podcast name Third Chances suggests – Dr. Silverman’s current success wasn’t his first professional choice (although he was a successful doctor). Entering the world of network marketing, a business model that provides more time freedom and greater financial rewards, (a residual income) was also full of obstacles - when you don’t work with honest players. Today Dr. Silverman celebrates more than 20 years in international holistic health education & marketing, sits on the ASEA Medical Professionals Board, and has received multiple awards. The most impressive are the ASEA Ambassador Triple Diamond Executive, the ASEA Mentor of the Year (2017), and the ASEA Business Builder of the Year (2020). But perhaps the most fulfilling of all is becoming a global entrepreneur with thousands of lives impacted all over the world, helping others to achieve better health and better wealth. We'll talk about:What almost happened, and how he changed his "never again" to “third time the charm” how he realized he was psychologically unemployable how he felt he had more potential and wanted to do more how he worked with inventions how he didn’t want to become a father, kids hardly know how he discovered the first company he joined forces with wasn't the right partner what happened next how he started a second time  What almost happened, and how he changed his "never again" to “third time the charm”   “Making money gives you choices – but when you have time freedom and the money, that really gives you a lot of choices.” • What he did do this time, to prevent possible disappointment • What impressed him about the company he joined forces with (and it’s the last) • Why he named this scientific breakthrough a gift for humanity • What it is and how it works • How can you also get involved in the business opportunity • What it took to convince his wife that this one would be a safe haven... and so much more in this fascinating episode of Third Chances “Some people only come to you in crises. I wish they didn’t wait so long” Dr. David Silverman   "In 2010, I properly investigated this health (& anti-aging) breakthrough because my dad was ill. Why will you do so? For you? Or perhaps for someone you love. Someone who may be suffering? Today I had the privilege to interview Rahz “Motivator” Slaughter – a wonderful friend with a most beautiful smile and personality; a devoted husband, a father, a motivational speaker, a 3X author, and in-demand online parenting and teen life, coach. Despite the physical disability, Rahz was born with, he is also an enthusiastic cyclist and a sought-after personal trainer. I think the name of this podcast episode says it all! We will talk in-depth about:    what it took for him to overcome challenges he was born with (and into) both physically and emotionally who was his biggest inspiration growing up what his grandma told him when he realized even multiple surgeries didn’t help how he found the strength to not give in to limiting beliefs as a child what happened when he moved to Florida and found a bike in his new home’s garage what strength he found in himself helping him deal with difficulties “ People want to be self-made. I’m not self-made, I’m faith made!” What made him start his first gym and become the best in the world and exclusive in his specialty Why March 14th, 2020 felt to him like 9/11 and how he needed to pivot with everything How all this moved him into a new direction and how his unique expertise and experience made him successful and unstoppable – working with teenagers and parents What is the biggest issue with today’s teenagers and their often hopeless parents - and how he could help them become motivated, confident in their own skin and overcome their own limitations, pretty fast How would working with Rahz look like, what his coaching is, and what it isn’t “Most of the kids are seeking someone outside of their parents to actually listen to them and actually hear and feel what they’re going through.” How to deal with issues when parent and child are two different personalities What do his signature BOOM and 3Cs stand for How this important work merges with his personal trainer experience What is his next book about One simple piece of advice for parents of a troubled teenager that they can start implementing right now to get things moving in the right direction The best way to get in touch with Rahz: WATCH THIS EPISODE ON YOUTUBEWEBSITE          YOUTUBE       INSTAGRAM      LINKEDIN   FACEBOOK    TWITTER Find his books on Amazon:  Student Success Secrets: Unlock The 7 Secrets For Developing Inspired, Motivated, and Success-Driven   Disclaimer:Any opinions stated on this podcast are personal opinions of the host or guests and are meant for information only. The answer is living in your head and in your gut - Why we don’t want to stay in balance

The answer is living in your head and in your gut - Why we don’t want to stay in balance

Today’s episode is for fellow amateur scientific nerds - or real ones :)!! If you love learning and discovering new technologies as an early adaptor, you will enjoy a conversation with Dr. Lee Ostler, DDS, a general dentist in Richland, WA. He’s a founder and past president of the American Academy for Oral Systemic Health, a past clinical instructor, and an author of numerous books on oral systemic healthcare. After a significant personal experience with Redox Signaling Molecules, his love for biology and biochemistry kicked in, and he dove deep into research to understand this newest bio-hack and groundbreaking technology – and today he’s helping others understand. Dr. Ostler sits on the Asea Medical Professionals Board (a volunteer position), and wrote two books on cellular health and redox biology – “Redox Matters - Connecting the Dots between Redox Biology and Health” and “Healthy Matters – Applying the Redox Lifestyle”. This series continues with Why It Matters - How to Become Recession Proof in a Gig Economy Be a side-hustle Thousandair and Progress Matters. He also participates in weekly web conversations on ZOOM with other medical and business professionals called ASEA 5 and manages the RedoxMatters.com website. Recordings of all the weekly web calls taking place every Friday on ZOOM can be found in a video section of this website. Today we spoke about how: Although the odds were not favorable, young Lee didn’t have a plan B when decided to become a dentist  He took a stand when early research showed a connection between the health of the mouth and the rest of the body He co-founded The Academy for Oral Systemic Health and became its president As there wasn’t as much material available then, he dove into extensive research and spent time working closely with physicians and fellow dentists, connecting and sharing the new approach Dr. Ostler made the argument that the health of the mouth and our health are connected and wrote several books about oral systemic health How his wife, battling unique health challenges for nearly 4 decades, was recommended to try some Redox as her doctor ran out of options to help her What happened within 48 hours and how it prompted both doctors to pay attention and dive deep into research of Redox Signaling Molecules How he turned into deep research about redox biology, just like he did previously with oral systemic health What triggered writing the book, Redox Matters What’s called the rules of our cells What he noticed when he started taking redox himself When the pandemic hit, what it meant for his practice Inspired by one of the cohosts of ASEA 5, dr. Ostler stepped up the intake of redox and watched what happens How the experimental and academic sides met How the last decades of antioxidants didn’t deliver the full story What he calls interventions Why we don’t want to stay in balance What makes “our inner doctor” stronger, more able, and more capable What’s oxidative stress and how do we bring it on ourselves What is the purpose of the exercise, fasting, phytonutrients, etc. What turns on our cell defenses, and what’s called homeostasis When happens when consistent out-of-balance oxidation persists What happens when we’re more toxic What’s the fuel source for our cell’s mitochondria  “So we have a multibillion-dollar industry that has grown up around this idea of putting out the fire of reducing the oxidants with these available electrons that I can get from vitamins.” What are transcription factors? What’s the Dr. Lee’s answer to someone who asks if it’s going to work for them How different this is to the “drug mindset, the interventions” What’s the concept called redox clean What book is Dr. Ostler working on now What is his biggest WHY What is rule 72 and why it’s an eye opener And so much more in this fascinating episode of Third ChancesYou can get in touch with Dr. Ostler here:WEBSITE           FACEBOOK     YouTubeWATCH THIS EPISODE ON YOUTUBEFor more info visit: www.lifewithredox.com For Personal consultation text "YouTube" to Vera on WhatsApp: +1 203-558-6213. You Have To Feed Your Spirit The Way You Feed Your Body

You Have To Feed Your Spirit The Way You Feed Your Body

Another powerful episode -  this time with a spiritual teacher, an author, a wife and a mother, and a dear friend (or soul sister??) Danielle Dagba. It’s fascinating to me to realize how far I have come from being completely in denial of the spiritual world (who’s got time for that) to begin to understand that go-go-go is not the way, that we need to take care of our mind and spirit the same way “we try” to take care of our body. I thought the exercise is the best way. I thought a good diet and whole food is the best way. But it’s not enough and I keep learning from wise people who figured it all out long before me. How the spiritual side of you is an important part of your well-being and happiness. How one doesn’t exist without the other. It’s mind-boggling to me that all these things are coming to me so late in my life. But better late than never. I hope you’re enjoying this learning journey with me. With a beautiful Danielle, we talked about:  How one becomes a spiritual teacher How she overcame obesity (hard to believe) and kept her weight down for almost 15 years How to love your body How she prayed and manifested for her purpose mate - while her future husband (before they met) prayed for finding his wife. The one that was meant for him About her journey of being raised in Haiti with a strong catholic background How she was missing something – and started asking deeper questions What was her life plan and how did it gets redirected abruptly  What trauma she needed to heal How she could feel people’s pain and a strong desire to alleviate pain How she could take on energy from far away The realization she made when she first looked into the eyes of her beautiful, miracle baby “You can’t hide pains for long, they start to surface.” “If something so pure and so beautiful came out of me – what else can come out of me if I had my life together” How people naturally started coming to them for insight and advice What her husband helped her to understand and lift How ost in service to community and people - they coached people for a decade before they turned it into a business  How through healing they have something more to give to people How did her book “Born to succeed programmed to fail” come along (what a title!!!!) What’s her true calling The power of self-healing and the power of self-love What she believes about every soul What’s the body and what’s the spirit How if you’re in pain for decades, it’s not going to change overnight What we lost as children and what we were taught instead – about love How powerful a tool our body is and how our body is keeping a score What’s the process of Body love, Body reconciliation, and Body celebration Pain is inevitable but suffering is a choice “The highest level of honesty is the truth you tell yourself. If you can’t tell yourself the truth, no guru, even Jesus can come, I mean the highest spiritual master can be in front of you, and resources can be around you, you’re not going to tap into them. Because you’re denying the fact that something gotta give, you’re not happy, you’re broken, you need to heal, and you have to be open and vulnerable, even if it’s just to yourself at first. And then the resources will come, you open that door for the help to come, and you become magnetic. I remember there was a time, many times when I was taking my spiritual path and there was this understanding that I’m lacking – and I would say, God, I'm ready. The book will come, I turn the TV on, I turn something and that’s exactly what I needed to hear. It always comes from your willingness to change and always being honest with yourself. If you can lie to yourself, nothing can help you.“ Daniel Dagba WATCH THIS EPISODE ON YOUTUBEThe best way to get in touch with Danielle: EMAIL Address: [email protected] WEBSITE          YOUTUBE       INSTAGRAM     PODCAST     SOUL JOURNEY SPIRITUAL MASTERCLASS - A personal journey to awakening your “Blue” Soul link  Disclaimer:Any opinions stated on this podcast are personal opinions of the host or guests and are meant for information only. Helping People Write Or Rewrite Their Story

Helping People Write Or Rewrite Their Story

In today's episode, we talk with Jill Patton, a 30-year health journalist, and editor turned health and wellness coach. She works with women in leadership — whether in their professions, communities, or families — to help them create the vitality and health they need to keep showing up for what matters and to make the difference they feel called to make. The funny thing is that we turned the tables - as a journalist, Jill is not used to getting asked questions, she's usually asking them. This was an interesting and fulfilling conversation that should give you a taste of Jill's personality, her coaching style, and how she can help. We talked about how: what she really wanted to do before landing into the coaching stratosphere   how her body tells her when she's pushing too hard her own body issues led her to learn more about nutrition, using food as a medicine, and well being what does being a writer and a coach have in common what is working with a health & wellness coach looks like what is necessary for the change to happen what do high achievers usually deal with on daily bases  what can you do instead of blame and shame  WATCH THIS EPISODE ON YOUTUBE Where can you best connect with Jill?email: [email protected]     LINKEDIN    FACEBOOK     YOUTUBE   INSTAGRAM    Disclaimer:Any opinions stated on this podcast are personal opinions of the host or guests and are meant for information only. Suddenly I Realized I Don’t Feel So Dark Anymore

This week we connected and talked with a charming Sarah who was a Registered Nurse for twenty years – and is now helping others as a Holistic Health Coach, Keynote Speaker, Author, and multi-award-winning entrepreneur. In this episode we speak about how she naturally overcame a multitude of health issues, and how Sarah now uses the knowledge gained through her own personal healing journey and experience as a nurse, to take a holistic approach to her work. How 20 years traditionally trained nurse became a holistic coach What’s the difference between a typical medical and a holistic approach  What moved her to reconsider the whole approach to her own health  What health challenges she was able to naturally heal (despite her doctor's prognoses)  How can we start being proactive rather than reactive and start with baby steps today How do you heal when you don’t look at one problem at the time Why she wrote her book and reached out to others who healed themselves to write powerful stories about their own healing journeys  What is the belief in the healing process  What role do unconscious beliefs play  How the “nocebo effect” is the same as the placebo effect – once you’re told you’ll have certain symptoms you’re going to experience them  What tiny steps can you take today  Why it's important to love yourself in an unconditional waySome of Sarah's pearls of wisdom:“Once you have done the healing work (especially the mindset work) the emotional healing work, dealt with your demons, they’re done and dealt with, they don’t impact your life anymore.”“With the diagnoses comes a program and a set of beliefs”“A lot of little somethings is better than none of the big something”“LOVE is always the answer”to get in touch with Sarah, connect with her:Website  LinkedIn  Facebook    YouTube    Instagram   TwitterEmail: [email protected] Book – HEAL YOURSELF on Amazon worldwide in 4 languages Course – Heal Yourself At Home – link on my website for a 20-module self-directed learning course. Find Calm Within Chaos

Find Calm Within Chaos

This interview was originally recorded at the beginning of the world’s pandemic as one of my first ZOOM conversations. But its message and great advice are even more valuable today. I had the privilege to chat with Edwin Brown - a private practitioner of acupuncture in Wethersfield and Manchester, Connecticut). Edwin has spent the last 24 years working in both private clinical and hospital settings. In addition, he spent more than 22 years studying the arts of Judo and Jiujitsu, pursuing his love for Martial arts as well as several years studying and practicing Tai Chi. A thorough understanding of how the flow of energy (Ki) affects the body is a central and crucial aspect in both fighting and healing arts. The ultimate goal of both fighting and healing arts is to achieve and maintain harmony. Studying these disciplines has enabled him to more thoroughly understand Ki and has thereby enhanced his ability to better serve his patients on their healing journeys, and on their paths back to realizing a more balanced life. I asked Edwin about the best practices we can all do right now to improve our mental and physical health during these challenging times, boost our immune system and become the best version of ourselves with just a few conscious actions a day. You will hear: • How his love for the philosophy and spiritual aspects of Martial arts brought him to his new career • How making sure you're relaxed while becoming stronger can give you more benefit from exercise • Just like the tree that’s flexible has the capacity to withstand the storm • How he was one of those big bulky guys - and how strength and flexibility go hand to hand • When he finally found the right teacher, he studied with him for 16 years in his late twenties • How is acupuncture connected to martial arts • What intervened when he created obstacles in his mind why he can’t study and change his career • How he never again wanted to be in a position where someone else decides if he can or can’t work – "I’m going to create my own career" • Whom he met during his studies that changed his life for years to come • His path to personal growth, internal journey, Tai Chi • How he learned to live with uncertainty "Life is uncertain even on the best of days – being flexible in your strength" • What is the one thing we have complete control over? • Learning how to breathe - properly calms your brain from stress • Every single cell in your body needs oxygen to exist so proper breathing helps the proper cellular function • How to make it a habit that sticks • What are the 3 most important things we can do to withstand stress? "Life is about breathing and walking. However, proper breathing and proper walking."   • How standing upright like a pine tree helps you relax into strength • How ignoring chronic stress doesn't deliver long-term results with treatment • How stress management routines have an impact on everything • What did his teacher tell him when he asked – how do you deal with negative energy? • What kind of homework I gave him and did he do accomplish it???   "Just like the calm eye within a hurricane, we can learn how to find the calm within the chaos." Living Dreams - I'll Give You The Shirt Of My Back. Unless It’s Cold...

Living Dreams - I'll Give You The Shirt Of My Back. Unless It’s Cold...

In this episode, we're talking with a retired professional rock roll drummer turned entrepreneur Robert Hayek who for the last few years not only built a new business but is also healing from a neurological disorder deemed "uncurable". We will touch on: how after moving to Florida he felt like not working, semi-retire and maybe becoming a bass fisherman   how Rock Star Networking didn't turn out what he expected it to be yet helped him discover a new business program  how Covid shut down his new business that was just getting momentum - so he had to discover the world of ZOOM how he got introduced to something that changed his life around on the first ZOOM call  how he got involved in Network marketing in the late 90ties - how he was convinced of a product within 10 minutes and knew he was going to build a business around it why has network marketing a stigma around it (for some reason I keep saying "digma"). Perhaps that wine on the podcast isn't such a good idea!  how he played drums ever since he was able to walk.... and had bands early in his grammar school and on - how he hung up on Leslie West twice yet still got hired  how one of his former band's recordings ended up as a soundtrack for a porno movie how he discovered financial business and its leverage -how to be paid over and over for something you sold once why it's important to find the right product & company  how the first 10 minutes won him over to wanting to start the business  what company would allow you to take a few years off - and while you're out, getting paid more and more every single week There is no failure unless you quit what's his big WHY what's the 1 thing he wants to be remembered by what's his goal in 2023 and how he could help you to achieve yours as wellIf you want to connect with Bob Hayek, the best way is:LINKEDIN    WEBSITE    FACEBOOK  YOUTUBE    ASEA WEBSITE WATCH THIS EPISODE ON YOUTUBEFor more info visit: www.lifewithredox.com For Personal consultation text "YouTube" to Vera on WhatsApp: +1 203-558-6213. We Are All Just Humans Having a Human Experience

We Are All Just Humans Having a Human Experience

In this episode with an incredible Mitch Webb, an Integrative Health Coach we'll talk about what turned a successful Corporate Sales Executive into Health Coach and what he had to overcome to change his health around. Mitch says: “As men, we push that stuff down and don’t deal with it and that stuff sits in our body, taking up energy and we get sick. You got to feel it to heal it.” You'll learn about:  How Mitch’s journey started with multiple crazy diagnoses in his early 20ties What can TBIs, autoimmune disease, insomnia, Lyme disease, and pre-diabetic conditions do to your body's stress  Add to it scary symptoms that presented themselves after being exposed to black mold (unknowingly), heavy metal toxins Mix with tragedy in the family, 3 rounds of Covid, losing 70 lbs. of body weight, and a scary car accident on top of it How much more can you take and what it takes to pull yourself out of that hole How he ends up genie-pigging himself to better health after putting band-aids and plugging holes that didn’t address the root of the issue How he felt compelled to help others with what he learned that helped him How one chiropractor changed his life trajectory What (and who) saved his life How as a type A person you take everything to the extreme – if something is good for you, you will do more of it with a tendency to overdo it. How when you deal with the baggage from the past, emotions, and trauma, once you free up that kind of energy, you’ve got lots of energy to create the life that you want How he partnered with functional medicine doctors to figure out the root issue when you can’t diet and exercise yourself out of chronic health condition Why focusing on the end result leads to burnout and quitting and what to focus on instead What’s his Book of proof How nothing changes until we change – and when we do things differently, we get a different outcome "Before you know it - you look back and you’re somebody completely different that you don’t even recognize and it’s a beautiful thing! Everything happens for a reason. When struggle comes up, the Japanese like to celebrate. I got these crazy diagnoses – awesome! That’s an opportunity to grow and heal, and that’s why you came here to learn these lessons, to grow your soul, and your spirit, to evolve as a human being, and to share and evolve the human collective. We are all one so when you heal, you heal someone else."Digging into some of those old wounds can be painful – so you need something even more painful to motivate you to overcome it."If you would like to see what it's like to work with Mitch, and if he could help you, take advantage of his special offer and schedule your free consultation here: All listeners get a free 30-minute call with Mitch using the link https://calendly.com/k-mitch-webb/30min?month=2022-12 You can reach and connect with Mitch here:LinkedIn        Website      Facebook    InstagramWATCH THIS EPISODE ON YOUTUBE Disclaimer:Any opinions stated on this podcast are personal opinions of the host or guests and are meant for information only. She is Wahls and Bredesen cerified. Georgette has years of expertise in fitness and nutrition, and when she's not seeing her clients, she serves on the NANP Board of Directors, and the Hawthorn University Advisory Board.     How a certified personal trainer realized you can't out train a bad diet how a serious health scare at a young age made her realize she needs to take a deeper look into the world of nutrition what saved her from a proposed hysterectomy in her late thirties why she went back to school to study holistic nutrition and why she chose that approach instead of a certified dietitian why your doctor doesn't talk about this what is the real medicine for our body what kind of results they had when she was invited to work with her own doctor in a holistic practice and why this doctor's passion became almost an obsession to discover all the advanced medical therapeutics to save someone's life why most of the patients that came to their office were stage 4, have been everywhere else, and what they called homerun what's the 80-20 principle in her book why nutritionists like herself are not there just to assist people with weight loss (although they do that too) but how illness-related patients see huge improvements when the right protocol is recommended and followed why should people seek expert nutritional guidance what keeps her getting up every morning  is gut our second brain?? why a holistic approach to your health isn't some 'voodoo' and why so many people understand how important it is for their quality of life what's her one trusted resource she would recommend if you're trying to find the right answers  what's the one piece of advice Georgette would give to anyone who starts with a better approach to their diet? what quote hangs in her office that got me thinkingTo get in touch with Georgette, please reach out to her:Email:  [email protected] Linkedin    Facebok    Instagram     WATCH THIS EPISODE ON YOUTUBE Disclaimer:Any opinions stated on this podcast are personal opinions of the host or guests and are meant for information only. We were like two ships crossing in the night

We were like two ships crossing in the night

Today’s guest is Maureen Hayes, MD, a Medical Doctor for more than 30 years. She’s a board-certified Anesthesiologist and Pain Management Specialist. How she transformed her professional career, what it means for her impact, a mission, and how the quality of her life changed. We talked about: How all she ever wanted was to be a surgeon  Who was the only man she would sacrifice her career for? Navigating a demanding career while being a single mom How she transformed from surgery to anesthesia and pain management  What book her mom gave her changed her perspective on business, money, life, and what she was doing “If you look from the outside, it looked like the perfect life. But we had not time to enjoy any of it!”  About that Mother of the Year award  How she became the horrible network marketer  How she questioned if her lifetime work has any effect on people’s health  How she started studying and integrating other wellness products that help  Her mom and her husband, himself a doctor and former marathon runner, were both diagnosed with a life-threatening illness  What she calls her own period of ignorance and arrogance once her mom’s illness came back “I thought I was a doctor; I knew better. I did everything I can think of. Except for Redox. Until my mom died 2 months later.” “We’re not giving anybody medical advice - this is a bio replenishment agent. It’s something we already have in every cell of the body, we just have less of it as we get older. Even our genes being turned off and on has to do with redox signaling.“ "Sometimes you don’t know when you have been handed something that’s an answer to your prayers." Magnifying her efforts now and how every dollar earned is a measuring stick of life changed  What would she do differently if she had a do-over?"We all want to age gracefully - we want to be 100 years old but not in a wheelchair with people wiping us …." This is everything. This is the energy of life, really. If you took these molecules away, just like oxygen, you wouldn’t live for more than a few minutes. That’s how foundational they’re. I’m either gonna get to the summit or die trying

In this episode, I have the privilege to introduce to you a very special human being, my dear friend, Berta Medina. Her story is captivating, and her professional and personal achievements can easily spread into several fulfilled lives. And she's nowhere near being done! We will talk about: How her family migrated to the United States from Cuba How was it to grow up in a very traditional Cuban multigenerational home Who had the strongest influence on her, installed a strong work ethic and patriotism in her The story she was told about her missing father that later turned out to be completely different What she never shared until after her mom passed What her father’s greatest shame was – that made her say “this is a funeral I'll never have to come back for because this man is dead to me” at 17 yrs old What prompted her to change her career, and go back to college as she was preparing for a mission trip to Kenya and Tanzania Why her family thought she lost her mind – but instead she found her purpose “There is so much to be done and I can’t do it sitting in the office 16 hours a day!” so she retired and gave away her successfully built business to its employees Climb Mt Kilimanjaro at 47 – determined to make it to the summit or die trying, with no plan B, and what helped her push through the last hours to accomplish the mission “Our future is nothing more than an accumulation of the habits and the decisions we make today” Berta Medina What’s her biggest fear “Work with people that set your soul on fire or don’t work with them at all!” What are Berta's 3 strongest values How she schedules even spontaneity Who are “her people” 11th hour is too late to start living your life - what we regret in the end is not the things we did – it’s what we didn’t do While we don’t want to live in an urgent mode, life does require a sense of urgency.
