Weekly Market Insights November 18 - 22, 2024
Welcome to another exciting episode of The Personal Wealth Coach Podcast with your hosts, Jeff and Jake McClure. As if it were a big surprise, this episode starts out with an update on your most loved market indicators. Jake helps explains the flat curve (???) of the interest yield curve. This explanation leads into a longer discussion about PMIs and tariffs. Once again there is talk about how well the U.S. is doing and the even more bleak outlook of other countries. On a side note, I've started planning my trip to the E.U. Jeff throws in a new term, leveraged ETF and lucky for me, Jake tells us what that is. (I wonder if maybe explaining what things are is how he gets a good night's sleep.) Lastly, watch out for scams. Yes! they happen. Happy Turkey Day!!!!

Weekly Market Insights November 11 - 15, 2024
Welcome to another exciting episode of The Personal Wealth Coach Podcast with your hosts, Jeff and Jake McClure. This week's S&P 500 Stock Index and CRSP US Mid Cap Value Index were not a thing of beauty as they have been most of this year, but as they say, it could have been worse. After our market updates, we start out with tariffs. While tariffs may be imposed on specific goods or countries, it's not the shipper that pays those tariffs. So, who does? There is quite a bit of talk about the differences or in some cases, lack of differences between presidential campaigns. One of our issues in the U.S. of A. is a large labor shortage. Obviously, we all need to go out and get a second or third or maybe even forth job. Then we wouldn't have to worry about those grocery prices. Jake boasts about looking at Federal balance sheets... sounds like fun. But, because of that there is a little bit of light at the end of the tunnel for the real estate market.

Weekly Market Insights November 4 - 8, 2024
Welcome to another exciting episode of The Personal Wealth Coach Podcast with your hosts, Jeff and Jake McClure. Jake starts us out with our weekly dose of market updates. The main body of the podcast starts out with interest rates. How does the government control inflation by loaning people money? What does the policy goals of the president elect mean for future interest rates? Jake moves onto productivity. He points out that the U.S. is in the lead for productivity. I've had a few jobs that would beg to differ based on a few of my co-workers. Jake breaks out the tea leaves on what might happen in the government. The question is, were they green tea or black tea leaves? Lastly, Jake somehow ties in a portion of the podcast covering healthcare.

Weekly Market Insights October 28 - November 1, 2024
Welcome to another exciting episode of The Personal Wealth Coach Podcast with your hosts, Jeff and Jake McClure. This week, Jeff hits the foam running, jumping right into the market update with only a short Squirrel!!! moment from Jake as he explains what a value and growth company are. Then, listen in as they explain why we're doing better than most the rest of the world, but not in every way. The two hurricanes that hit the Southeast portion of the U.S. have made things a little wonky. The Real Estate portion of the economy, but why? Lastly, Jake once again gives one piece of advice that doesn't have to be done on a fiduciary level.

Weekly Market Insights October 21 - 25, 2024
Welcome to another exciting episode of The Personal Wealth Coach Podcast with your hosts, Jeff and Jake McClure. And they're back! After an internet outage prevented them from recording a timely market update last week, they're roaring to get back at it. And by "it" I of course mean the typical bad puns they like to toss around all willy nilly. This week's market indicator updates were not all rainbows and unicorns. Listen in to discover why the U.S. is doing so well while other parts of the world aren't quite making par. Continue listening to hear about a bank failure that was a bit different than the ones we saw in 2023 and why it's important to remember that just because the Fed bailed banks out in the past, that doesn't mean they will always do that in the future.

Weekly Market Insights October 7 - 11, 2024
Welcome to another exciting episode of The Personal Wealth Coach Podcast with your hosts, Jeff and Jake McClure. During the delve into this week's typical market movement, Jeff and Jake give us a bit of insight into just what some of the outstanding numbers the S&P 500 Index look like historically, and is worth a listen if you ask me. Have you ever wondered why the Fed like to see a 2% inflation rate? Why not 0% inflation, gee that sure sounds good to me. Well, the guys explain how a target of 0% inflation is a bad thing. I'm beginning to think maybe China is part of the podcast on a weekly basis because they are a good example of how not to do things. But this week, Germany joins the mix. Then, they begin talking about the viability of the economic policies both the presidential candidates are talking about. Lastly, the union strikes. Good for now, bad for later. my my my.

Weekly Market Insights September 30 - October 4, 2024
Welcome to another exciting episode of The Personal Wealth Coach Podcast with your hosts, Jeff and Jake McClure. In true optimistic fashion, these two "non-optimists" provide our weekly dose of market indicator updates then try and bait us all into going and listening to previous radio programs from 2021 and 2018. Yea, nice try Bucko. (But, just in case you want to, here's the link Radio Program). They go on to remind us that conflicts and choices made in other parts of the world may not involve us, but they do still affect us, sometimes in ways we don't even consider. If you make it to the end, you'll hear more on why the guys think China's problems likely won't be fixed despite their current attempts to do so. Oh, and how's your toilet paper supply?

Long Historical Precious Metal Trends
Welcome to another exciting episode of The Personal Wealth Coach Podcast with your hosts, Jeff and Jake McClure. Jake has something he just has to get off his chest. After his recent trip to Denmark, where his kids spent some time literally making money, he felt the need to compare buying a house in the year 1000 for a dollar today. Listen in as Jake explains some of the difficulties with comparing precious metal values from years far beyond when monetary values and records were kept with values today. By the end, I bet you might even be saying, "wow, regulation might actually be a good thing."

Weekly Market Insights September 23 - 27, 2024
Welcome to another exciting episode of The Personal Wealth Coach Podcast with your hosts, Jeff and Jake McClure. After having to listen to Jake ramble a bit about this episode, Jeff comes out swinging with this week's market update. I can't decide whether the S&P 500 Index reaching new heights, or the Treasury yield curve news is more exciting. Although, the prospect of fuel prices going down more is also not terrible news. Then, hold on to your hats, they start talking about politics......everyone's favorite past time. I'm sure by the time everyone has finished listing to this portion of the podcast, our listenership will decrease by at least half. Thanks a lot, guys. Listen closely because Jake gives everyone a piece of trivia that will impress everyone around you in the right circumstances, so basically when you're all alone. Finally, Jeff and Jake end on a talk about what the People's Republic of China is doing to try and curb falling prices and deflation.

Weekly Market Insights September 16 - 20, 2024
Welcome to another exciting episode of The Personal Wealth Coach Podcast with your hosts, Jeff and Jake McClure. This week starts out similarly to others, with an update on the movements made by the S&P 500 Index and CRSP US Mid Cap Value Index. Jeff gives us a brief note on irrational exuberance followed by a mention that other parts of the economy may be "sane." Maybe he's comparing it to himself..... Then comes the good stuff, interest rates. The majority of this week's economic writings across the interwebs were focused on the Federal Reserve Board's rate change. Jake explains overnight loans made by the Federal Reserve and why lowering rates made rates go up.... oh brother. Jeff gets to tell us about a publishing by Mario Draghi. For those of you that may not know who that is, don't worry, I didn't either.

Weekly Market Insights September 9 - 13, 2024
Welcome to another exciting episode of The Personal Wealth Coach Podcast with your hosts, Jeff and Jake McClure. Jeff and Jake keep it short and simple when updating us on the usual market indicators we follow. Apparently, the indicators were not afraid to come out and play during a week that ended on a Friday the 13th! The guys go on to speak on some of the reasons inflation... inflated during Covid and is still annoying all of us today. There is some talk about China and I got to wondering, when is the last podcast that didn't mention China? Someone go ahead and spend your free time finding that out. I'll wait. Jake goes on to give us some information about the S&P 500 Index. Turns out, the companies represented in the index change? Who could have known.

Weekly Market Insights September 3 - 6, 2024
Welcome to another exciting episode of The Personal Wealth Coach Podcast with your hosts, Jeff and Jake McClure. Jeff and Jake seemed a teensy bit out of sync for this one. I'll blame it on the 4-day work week. Friday probably came too early for them. They do manage to update us on our preferred market indicators. Listen in to hear their thoughts on how the U.S. is doing compared to other countries such as China and Russia. They also chime in on AI and how it's affecting us even now, in the earlyish stages. Something they've mentioned many times in the recent past.

Welcome to another exciting episode of The Personal Wealth Coach Podcast with your hosts, Jeff and Jake McClure. Jake..... AND JEFF(!!!!) are at it again this Friday. First, we get an inside peak at what happened to our preferred market indicators during the week. Then, it seems like Jake was super excited to have Jeff back at the foam because they spend a lot of time talking about capacity. I know I'm at capacity when it comes to having to listen to these two. Any pointers on how I increase that? And if you've been feeling a bit down about how things are going in here in the U.S. of A. it's hard to continue doing that after hearing what the guys have to say about our Gross Domestic Product and Personal Consumption Expenditures Price Index. But that's not all! We get to hear about scams and things going on in China.

Welcome to another exciting episode of The Personal Wealth Coach Podcast with your hosts, Jeff and Jake McClure. If you were looking at the S&P 500 Index, CRSP US Mid Cap Value Index, U.S. Treasuries, and West Texas Intermediate crude oil markets this week, you'd think things were going swimmingly. Jake updates us on the movement those markets had for the week. Then goes to try and keep your interest about interest......rates (it took me way too long to come up with that.) Some big things happened this week that could indicate where interest rates are headed. Jake explains what we might expect and a bit about how bond markets work when countries own large amounts of U.S. bonds. Lastly, at the beginning of the episode Jake asks for some help from our listeners. Typically, the weekly update is posted Saturdays at 10am CST because that's when Jeff and Jake would talk about these same topics on the weekly radio program they put on. Jake asks if you can send him an email with whether that schedule is important to you or not and if you have any other recommendations.

Weekly Market Insights August 12 - 16, 2024
Welcome to another exciting episode of The Personal Wealth Coach Podcast with your hosts, Jeff and Jake McClure. Strap in folks. Starting us out, Jake tells us how the S&P 500 Index, CRSP US Mid Cap Value Index, U.S. Treasuries, and West Texas Intermediate crude oil markets did this week. Normally, August is kind of a meh month, however this year, in true 2024 fashion, it's keeping us on our toes. Listen in to hear a bit about current inflation, house prices, and some of the numbers we like to look at from the BLS and BEA. Jake reminds us about how much power the President has when it comes to lowering the price of eggs, among other things. Then, he goes on a ramble about what quite possibly may be his most favorite topic, property rights. Things get a little smelly when the wombats start leaving poop on things.

Welcome to another exciting episode of The Personal Wealth Coach Podcast with your hosts, Jeff and Jake McClure. Jake starts us out with our weekly dose of market movement. Then, as far as I can tell, he starts trying to say the ABCs but in a really weird way. He starts out BEA, then GDP followed by PCE and still he started several other times after that, poor guy. We may need to send him back to grade school. Jake explains how much the President, whoever that may be, has on the actual economy. In the last bit of the episode, Jake gives us some advice, though he can't even say the alphabet correctly so it's totally on you if you decide to follow it.

The State of Healthcare in the U.S.
Welcome to another exciting episode of The Personal Wealth Coach Podcast with your hosts, Jeff and Jake McClure. Healthcare is something I think we all have a love/hate relationship with. We all want to be healthy and happy, however we don't want to pay 3 fingers and a pinky toe to do it. In this episode, Jake speaks about some of the reasons why it is difficult to compare our healthcare to other nations. Generally, little is known about the complex relationships between drug companies and hospitals and just why those relationships can cause prices to be unknown when you're having a procedure done. Then you throw in insurance companies and all hell breaks loose. Listen in to gain a bit of insight and just be happy he didn't go on for longer.

Welcome to another exciting episode of The Personal Wealth Coach Podcast with your hosts, Jeff and Jake McClure. Jake droned on alone although for less time than we're used to having to bear. You may notice a slight difference in this podcast. We're trying out a little change. If you didn't notice anything then we've succeeded! But I won't tell you at what....... Jake updates us on this week's S&P 500 Index, CRSP US Mid Cap Value Index, U.S. Treasuries, and West Texas Intermediate crude oil markets for this week. He goes on to tell us a few topics we've noticed that effected those markets. Listen in to find out what the Fed is looking for before they decide on what to do with interest rates which should come out towards the end of the month.

Welcome to another exciting episode of The Personal Wealth Coach Podcast with your hosts, Jeff and Jake McClure. I think Jeff and Jake may have drunk from the wrong juice this morning, or maybe it was long past its "best by" date. The two alien-like beings start out with an explanation on why they like to reference the S&P 500 Index to the CRSP US Mid Cap Value Index and further, update us on the 4th of July week changes between those, U.S. Treasuries, and West Texas Intermediate crude oil markets. Something came up about consistently inconsistent data... or maybe it was inconsistently consistent data? Who knows...They continue on to spend quite a bit of time on shipping, both domestic and international, all over the world, and why that affects prices so much.

Welcome to another exciting episode of The Personal Wealth Coach Podcast with your hosts, Jeff and Jake McClure. Jake goes at it all by his lonesome this episode and after listening, it seems Jeff is actually the one who brings the comedy to the show. I know, I'm surprised, too. At first, you almost can't blame Jake as he has to start out with the usual S&P 500 Index, CRSP US Mid Cap Value Index, U.S. Treasuries, and West Texas Intermediate crude oil changes. But, with some emphases he almost makes a change of 0.0% sounds super important. Then, he tries to make inflation sound like a good thing. This guy! Finally, he spends a lot of time explaining some of the differences and similarities between the U.S. and China economies. Oh yay!

Welcome to another exciting episode of The Personal Wealth Coach Podcast with your hosts, Jeff and Jake McClure. Has anyone else ever wondered how Jeff and Jake would start the show if they weren't both bald and bearded? "We are two guys with a full head of hair!" is kind of an odd flex and just doesn't have the same pizzaz. Anyways, they start us off with this 4-day week's S&P 500 Index, CRSP US Mid Cap Value Index, U.S. Treasuries, and West Texas Intermediate crude oil changes. Then, they go on to discuss changes to our international imports and exports, and some of the ways our presidents may or may not affect our economy like some people seem to think.

Welcome to another exciting episode of The Personal Wealth Coach Podcast with your hosts, Jeff and Jake McClure. To start us off.......... BOO! Jeff and Jake try to scare off the two of you that listen, which seems a bit counterproductive because I thought the goal was more listeners, not less. But hey, I just work here <shrug>. After starting us out with our exciting update on the S&P 500 Index, CRSP US Mid Cap Value Index, U.S. Treasuries, and West Texas Intermediate crude oil changes for the week, they manage to go on for another 30 minutes about the nothing that happened in the market. Yes folks, you read that right, nothing happened. And for some reason, that was important but unless you finish the episode, you won't know why!!!! muahaha.

Welcome to another exciting episode of The Personal Wealth Coach Podcast with your hosts, Jeff and Jake McClure. Jeff and Jake spent the past few days in Tennessee attending a conference listening and speaking to some of the top economists, which you'd think would help them find something to talk about other than the same old economic and market news. Which is why they, once again, start out with bad disclosure "jokes". Hahaha, joking, but really after giving an updating on this week's S&P 500 Index and CRSP US Mid Cap Value Index hops, skips and jumps they move on to the good stuff. Listen in to hear their reasoning on why the U.S. of A. is doing really well right now despite certain economic numbers being lower or growing slower. They give us some information on Alternative Investments and what you might want to think about before utilizing them.

Welcome to another exciting episode of The Personal Wealth Coach Podcast with your hosts, Jeff and Jake McClure. Grab onto your seats for this. Jeff and Jake start out strong after the intro music and can you guess what they start with? That's right! Disclosures. Then, as you may have guessed, they update us on the weekly S&P 500 Index and CRSP US Mid Cap Value Index numbers. Jake brings up a topic that's probably on most minds, Trump's trial outcome and how it might affect the markets. Is there doom and gloom in our market's future because of politics or the opposite? And, to be honest, I don't think the two of them have used the word "recommend" so many times in a single podcast. Consider yourselves lucky as Jake pulls back just as they start down the rabbit hole on return calculations and how they are obtained, because trust me, they can go on about that for a LOOOOOOOONG time.

Keep on listening (but why?) to hear about a $444 billion oppsie, the bifurcation of the world markets, interest rates (again?), and a few other excitingish topics.

Welcome to another exciting episode of The Personal Wealth Coach Podcast with your hosts, Jeff and Jake McClure. This week Jeff and Jake start out strong and talk about giving everyone a good pencil...... Listen in to hear their update on this week's S&P 500 Index and CRSP US Mid Cap Value Index movement and what happened this week to affect it. There is even a treat in the show as Jake starts randomly pressing buttons and gives you a bit of music to listen to (which is probably the best 3 seconds of the entire show.) I'd also like to give a big thanks to Inquisitor John for giving them something to talk about this week, the Dow Jones Industrial Average and its history.

There is a very slight possibility a third miracle might occur if they manage not to put you to sleep while they provide you a summary of this week's S&P 500 Stock Index (SPX) movement and other market indicators they are known to occasionally update our listeners on. Listen in to see what the lowest gas price Jeff recalls as a reminder of his very "youngish" age.
