A Quick Guide To Evaluating Your Patients

A Quick Guide To Evaluating Your Patients

When carried out properly, evaluations are a crucial component of quality improvement and can assist in problem-solving, decision-making, and knowledge creation in healthcare. Although evaluations take numerous forms, its main goal is to aid in our better understanding of how to best enhance the care we provide. But how will you work through evaluations in a cash-based physical therapy practice? Why should everything not be done on the first visit? Welcome to the PelviBiz Podcast! I’m your host, Dr. Kelly Alhooie, founder of OrthoPelvic Physical Therapy, Pelvic Health Business Grower, and PelviBiz Podcast. In this week’s episode, I will be talking about how evaluation should be done in your patient’s visits and what method you can use to ensure that your patient is committed to improving their health together with you.I will touch on such topics as:Most people think that you have to get everything done and solve the problem in the first evaluation, which a lot of times should not be the case, especially when you treat pelvic health. On an initial evaluation, take all the information that you can.It is important to provide a safe space for a client to tell their story.Several physical and occupational therapists have the misconception that they should charge a higher price for evaluation compared to a follow-up visit. Keep the price of the follow-up visit and evaluation the same because the perceived value to the patient is making them confused. You have to treat, evaluate, and receive feedback from the patient. The Business Retreat You've Been Waiting for is back!Ready to Join a community of pelvic healthcare professionals on October 14-16? Chutes and Ladders For Business Owners

Chutes and Ladders For Business Owners

What is your end goal in business and life? What’s your biggest reason that can help you keep in the game? What can you do differently that you haven't already done to keep winning in the world of business?Welcome to the PelviBiz Podcast! I’m your host, Dr. Kelly Alhooie, founder of OrthoPelvic Physical Therapy, Pelvic Health Business Grower, and PelviBiz Podcast. In this week’s episode, I will be going to talk about how business is similar to Shoots and Ladder, the old-school board game that you used to play with a dice until you reached the finish line. How to figure out when you can get out of the shoot the fastest and what you can do differently to be successful in life and business.I will touch on such topics as:Some people went down on the path that never went down the shoot; some people were on a path that went down many shoots; and some people hit the shoot and rebounded like a rubber-band and got launched to the finish line.If something comes up in a tremendous way in life, what are you going to do when it comes to the shoot and ladders game?If you roll a die and get knocked down in a shoot, are you going to slowly climb your way out of that shoot? Or will you figure out a way that you can be launched like a water balloon and continue on the path?Instead of sitting at the bottom of the shoot, pause and think about what you can do differently.Going down the shoot is parallel to failure. You have to figure out a way to do whatever it takes to get you there and your finish line has to be so big At some point, you are going to find your way. No matter how many times you go down the shoot, you can always get back up.The people that are winning in business are the people that can get out of the shoot the fastest. If you figure out how to do that, you will win the game. The Business Retreat You've Been Waiting for is back!Ready to Join a community of pelvic healthcare professionals on October 14-16? Tips and Tricks for Launching a Product

Tips and Tricks for Launching a Product

Are you planning to create an online product in the physical therapy world? Most programs are built over an extended period of time, so how do you sell a shorter program that will get your clients the results they want? Welcome to the PelviBiz Podcast! I’m your host, Dr. Kelly Alhooie, founder of OrthoPelvic Physical Therapy, Pelvic Health Business Grower, and PelviBiz Podcast. In this week’s episode, I will share some tips on how I got started and developed a product that I have and how it turned out to be successful.I will touch on such topics as:You cannot create a product without knowing what people want. The positive about a product is when you can get it right and when you really know your audience. The thing that people don’t realize about products is that you have to have so many conversations with your audience to know precisely what you should put in that guide. When it comes to products, many OTs and PTs believe that if you have a more extended period that a product is programmed, people will pay for that, which is actually not true. The faster the results, the shorter the period. The positive of a live component is that you can interact with the audience, and, as you are doing the talk, you can get feedback. Just start with one product. Start with one thing you are passionate about and believe can help people. Have any questions about the topics covered in this podcast? She now provides tools to improve their pelvic health so they can improve their health, fitness, and sometimes even their marriage or relationship. We will touch on such topics as:How do you have self-care while being able to manage your business and, at the same time, have some bonding time with your family? What are the real insights that can help other PTs? You have to set your boundaries if you want to work only at a specific time and day.
