Growing up in inner city Houston sheltered from the very “ghetto” culture that surrounded me, I was bussed to gifted & talented schools and encouraged to alter the way I talked, dressed, and behaved – only to “fit in” with majority culture. This is not living in truth. This miseducation was part of my adolescent experience minimizing the “ghetto fabulous” black woman image that is very mainstream now in rap culture. An image that was once suppressed and now is celebrated. While on my life path, choices and opportunities often felt disconnected and possibly unstrategic. However, through deep listening, I have come to realize and appreciate that my journey and all these interests have brought me to this moment and this work. Everything aligns and supports each other in my own unique landscape. I have always been one who recognized that this is all energy work, but I just didn’t have the language for it when I was younger. Grief is an emotion that I have rarely taken time to unpack. As we move through life and become more conscious of our personal growth and evolution, we are often met with some very harsh and challenging situations. They can look like relationships ending, family illness and death, or even harsh judgments from those you love dearest. Whatever the challenge may be, we must innerstand that the experiences we endure are deep lessons that signal a new level or timeline along our unique evolutionary path.  As we traverse these new paths, we must do so with a lot of grace especially for our selves.   I’m the first to admit to being my own harshest critic; however, along this metaphysical journey, I’ve learned how utterly useless that perspective can be. In this episode with Hanna Noel, business alignment leader and host of “Untying the Knot, Just Like Magic” podcast, we talk about getting into your magic and back to who you truly are at the core to create a business that's sustainable and profitable. Because at the end of the day if you're not truly in alignment, your business is going to be much harder to sustain.   WHAT WE TALKED ABOUT Hanna’s Christian upbringing in the desert of Arizona and how that shaped her childhood and early life experiences. Learning about metaphysics through a manifestation course and connecting the truth in the practices back to stories in the Bible showing her that spirituality is not so different from Christianity in many ways. Being a single mom and never been married with an 11-year old and the journey of experiencing a ton of stigma around at the church especially when pregnant as a teenager. A traditional education journey that felt like a waste of energy, time and money and how she realized the experience was not serving her, so she dropped out to follow a higher calling. Starting metaphysical training with breathwork that brought up so many good things then got into tapping and learning human design really deeply. The practices affirmed who she is and what she does quickly – maybe two or three months she had like a shift, and now it's just been this spiritual awakening journey.  How coaching is very much based on life experiences. So the things that Hanna’s gone through is what helps other people and she’s a firm believer that you only have to be one or two steps ahead of someone to teach them. Coaching is a partnership where you bring out the best in each other especially for Hanna as a projector in human design. Moving past limiting beliefs and so many deeply conditioned childhood wounds – parents divorcing, teenage pregnancy at small Christian school, then deciding to give child up for adoption – to operate and work from a place of flow.  How she brings people together via a Facebook group of women called Empowering New Women Entrepreneurs, so women who are new to business have a small but mighty Facebook group where they are able to support each other. Knowing that you have everything that you need within you. What does it mean for you to be fully alive? For Sarah Noble, a mystic, spiritual teacher and transformational coach, a big part of being fully alive is really developing a relationship with yourself and your intuition. She didn’t like herself so she resulted in drinking and taking recreational drugs when she was in her 20s. How her intuition guided her spiritual journey. After college, she followed her intuition and moved to different countries, got a job, got sober, started her family, and left her job to take care of her family. How she realized that enough is enough and that God wasn't the punishing God that she learned as a child and ran away from. How she started to listen to the voice inside her to leave the corporate space, prioritize being a mother to her children, and start a business using her gift of channeling. When did she start doing Shamanic work and what does she do? She mentioned that the body, the soul, and the heart hold the wisdom, and our mind can sometimes lie to us.  How her life exponentially changed when she started working with the energetics of her body, working with practitioners, learning about energy medicine practices, doing meditation, and realizing that she is a multi-dimensional being. How she eventually left her marriage to pursue her spiritual path and how she sees a Sacred Union as having both people devoted to their own personal development as spiritual beings. Shame and guilt are gatekeepers of something deeper. Anxiety is like a guardian angel who rushes in to save you from the thing that actually is underneath. In this episode, Casper ter Kuile, founder of The Nearness, celebrated author and podcaster, talks about how he navigates spirituality, sexual identity and business as he helps people connect with themselves and the world around them.   WHAT WE TALKED ABOUT How I met Casper at the Harvard Kennedy School of Government, became friends, and admired his journey to his truth and how he serves humanity. Born and raised in England, Casper’s early years of education were more about creativity and play. He started experiencing the more traditional structured approach to learning at ten years old. In college, he studied history and sociology. He got involved more in activism and mobilizing young people around climate change. With this, he also went through personal changes and experienced a political awakening. After experiencing burnout from activism, he went to Harvard Kennedy School to pursue graduate studies but eventually fell in love and got married. How Charlotte Miller mentored Casper and introduced him to meditation, metaphysical books, and opened space for spirituality to be a legitimate part of his life. How Casper found the right people to help co-create his spiritual work, be a part of his team at Sacred Design Lab, and co-host the Harry Potter and the Sacred Text podcast. How Casper has been integrating his spiritual journey with his business. According to him, the practice of covenant is the most important practice that works for his team to hold their relationship and mission together. How do they fulfill their covenant? How did Casper navigate through his spirituality and sexual identity? How do we reconcile individuality with collectiveness? For Casper, it’s trying to welcome people into small groups of spiritual accompaniment and friendship with no expectation that they’re going to believe and practice the same thing, but invest in the relationship with each other. As we go on our metaphysical journey, there are three things that we must overcome: 1) our desire for recognition; 2) our desire for security; and 3) our desire for control. And in this episode, we focus on understanding our insatiable desire for control and overcoming it.   WHAT WE TALKED ABOUT Our desire to control our environment, the people around us, how things play out or the end result is sometimes a trauma response. Control is very common in traumatized environments where there is a lot of disruption. Controlling our external environment is nearly impossible but the matrix we live in is based on mass control. How I had an eating disorder when I was in high school after my mother and my trainer had me on a really strict diet. How being in a hyper-controlled environment started to manifest bigger and bigger as I got older. When I finally became free and on my own, I had no control with my drinking and partying. As we embrace our desire for control, it softens and comes into balance. Trying to control so much of the world around us creates a dis-ease: losing hair or getting sores or losing weight, gaining weight, skin looking bad, and even cancer. Watch yourself in your workplace or with your family, and ask yourself how you are showing up. Are you micromanaging? Are you grasping onto things? I was in this overachieving mindset that I was controlling my mother with dementia and my son to the point where I had no energy for myself. If your energy is going outside of you, then you are constantly emptying yourself out, and that is not sustainable. How can you start your healing journey? Start with baby steps. Read Bible plans, set daily intentions, read and repeat affirmations, reprogram your mind, sit with yourself and meditate. “As above, so below. As within, so without.” Everything starts with the self. If we're not changing our ways, if we're not looking at who we are, then how can we expect the environment around us to shift? Meditative movement is a beautiful way to start to activate that energy within you so you can have more awareness of who you are, where you're going, what you're controlling, what you're trying not to control, what you're trying to achieve, what you're not trying to achieve.   Embrace your desires and see how they play out in the world around us. When we learn how to trust and obey, blessings will follow. These are the key qualities and actions that will get you through any trying time. This was how Simone Arthur, a spiritualist, a medium, and an intuitive reader, was able to unlock her power of providing spiritual readings to people from all walks of life. She fought it at first because she didn’t want to give up her fast-paced life, but when she learned to connect with her Ancestors and follow their instructions, then came blessing after blessing.   WHAT WE TALKED ABOUT How I met Simone through a Clubhouse group and how she was able to guide me and comfort me during one of the most traumatic experiences in my life. How Simone started her spiritual journey in her late 20s and how she acquired the gift of being a medium. She tried balancing her new spiritual discipline with the fabulous life that she wanted but it never worked. Everything started to fall apart. When she said yes to the Spirit in September 2019, Readings by Simone was established. The pandemic came and her business skyrocketed from there. She’s now hosting spiritual retreats called Sacred Conversations With Our Ancestors, a guided 3-day ancestral experience, honoring Ancestors held in Barbados. She also offers a course called Spirituality and Your Ancestors aimed specifically at those individuals seeking guidance on starting their spiritual journey. How Simone hit rock bottom and everybody was turning against her, and the Spirit told her to do spiritual readings for people and this was how she paid off her bills and debt. This was when she started to trust and obey. What are the spiritual wellness tools and rituals that can help you move in alignment with your passion and truth? Simone also mentioned the things that won’t help you move through the spaces to see exactly where you are. You have to start from within. If you start on the outside to figure it all out and it looks tall, glossy and cute, the inside is rotten. She talked about one of her experiences after taking an abundance bath. The next day, she passed T-Mobile and qualified for a tablet and got a 212 area code that can get her $10-15,000 when she put this up for auction. Simone also described what her retreats in Barbados look like and how the Ancestors guided her in outlining the event. She also mentioned the idea of manifestation and bringing things to fruition and what it really takes to get to where you want to be.    Trust and obey. In this episode, we focus on how to master your consciousness to create growth in your life. Switching from victim consciousness to master consciousness takes time, patience, and intentional energy and effort. If you’re spending much of your life people-pleasing and now, deeply desire to connect back to yourself and honor yourself, this episode is for you.    WHAT WE TALKED ABOUT The hierarchical structure of doing for someone else, whether in the corporate or academic space, can create victim consciousness. In Dr. Stephen Karpman’s Drama Triangle, there’s the victim, the villain, and the hero. All three characters represent victim consciousness. We, women, were taught to be nurturers, to be giving, to put ourselves last, and be the hero. What are we left with? No energy, no time for ourselves, and no opportunity to be in our full divinity and goddess energy. The villain is the one blaming other people and making someone’s life hell because they, themselves, are in a hell state. The victim feels like a round peg in a square hole and unworthy. Victim consciousness is a collective issue of blaming other people and no one is taking responsibility for themselves. The Empowerment Triangle by David Emerald, on the other hand, shifts us from being a victim to a creator, a villain to an encourager, and a hero to a coach. Master consciousness or Christ consciousness is figuring out how you can transmute the bad energy to good energy and lift your energetic vibration. If we attract something that’s unpleasant, we can make a choice to roll with this vibration or lift our vibration and shift the energy. We need to feel our emotions and what we’re going through but we don’t have to react. Tai Chi teaches us to come back to our zero point and figure out how we can encourage instead of blame. “Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime.” Going from hero to coach means you don’t just encourage but you also want to teach. As we teach, we grow; as we grow, others grow; and as others grow, we grow. When you evolve backward, you move away from God. Evolution is about getting closer and closer to God. Embodying master consciousness is getting closer to God. Money is not evil. It’s a tool for exchange and communication. It’s a language. What makes money evil is people’s misuse and control of it. We are the new earth leaders who are able to utilize the technologies, tools, insights, and knowledge for  good, for co-creating heaven on earth, and for co-creating opportunities for everyone to experience wealth. As we master our consciousness, we can connect deeper into realities. And, as we connect to these realities, we understand deeply who we are.   Be a master of your consciousness and understand the trajectory of your life path. When we hear “sovereignty”, we think of kingdoms, nations, and states but rarely do we think about it as it relates to the individuals or to the self. People always look for someone else to be the power holder, the leader, the guide, or the savior. However, we are now moving into the Aquarian Age, where it’s the age of knowing, the age of self, or the age of sovereignty. In this episode, we chat about sovereignty, an aspect of ourselves we know little about.   WHAT I TALKED ABOUT  We are living in an age where the subtleties of control, dominance, and power are so minuscule that we often miss the times when our power is being taken away from us. It is time to stand up for ourselves.  Sovereignty means taking a stand and making moves without answering to anybody.  We are benevolent and agreeable beings. We are called to protect life, intelligence, and freedom.  When we look up to the ancient deities as greater than ourselves, we give away our power. They are great powerful beings but so are you.  Move from a position of victim and servitude to a position of a master, a sovereign being, and your own god/goddess.  We have been programmed to “follow the leader” but this cycle is ending. We are moving into an age where we are now our own leaders.  Yes, we can look to people who have been ahead of us and who can talk about their experiences, but at the end of the day, words don’t teach. You have to go through your own experiences and walk your own paths.  Wherever you are, wherever you sit and whatever you look like, your universal truth can be powered up and connected to Source’s highest good so that you, too, may inspire and lead others.  Sometimes, when we go on our sovereign path, we disconnect ourselves from the people of our past. Real growth and healing begins with yourself, that’s why distancing yourself from others helps in your journey.  The Map of Consciousness by Dr. David Hawkins shows that guilt and shame are at the bottom level and anger is significantly above them. So, if you respond in a moment with anger, you are operating at a higher frequency than you did before. We are earth beings. Our energy is directly tied to the planet’s energy. So as we heal ourselves, we also heal the world.  It’s important that we move into sovereignty and really know who we are. As you start to call forth all your great and grand dreams and ideas, the people you need to co-create with to make these dreams and ideas manifest will show up for you. You have to have that sovereignty.  When you are in alignment with the Source, you show up for yourself. And you continue showing up for yourself by asking “who am I?”. Ramana Maharshi is the yogic teacher who is known for popularizing this practice in modern times and is featured in the documentary “Who am I?” Your intentions and why you do things have to be for you. When you put other people first, you start to give away your power and lose yourself. That’s called people-pleasing.  When you put yourself first, you can love yourself more and show up for yourself with more honesty, authenticity, energy, and power. It’s time to hear some words of wisdom from this episode’s featured guest, Greg Boudy who is a Shamanic healer and uses energy as his way of healing and guiding souls. Greg shares how his traumatic experience in childhood became his source of strength and how he got into the healing business. How his interest in business started and at the same time he was attracted to anything spiritual and how his involvement in the gambling industry became the most prominent conflict within him. What happened when he was 30 years old and how did his third eye awaken and his perception of life shift entirely? Why do people who have that gap of feeling alone and disconnected from the source try to fill in the gap or escape the pain with alcohol, parties, substances, psychedelics, sex, shopping, and all that kinds of addictive patterns? How Greg started his Shamanic way of healing through energy transmission, consciousness and vibration, and what it means in the metaphysical space. What is the light language through sacred geometry? How can the combination of shapes and colors in the light grid help you manifest and be more aligned with who you are now? What was the motivation that made Greg finally decide for complete transition from corporate life to the business of healing? How did he make that big jump from having two clients per week to 15 or 20 per week? What aspect in his life did he work on? The instant gratification of momentary achievements can never be enough. It's endless when you just look forward to results that will please your boss or your ego but would have no real meaning to your heart. Life has many possibilities for you to have the perfect job that would be the most rewarding for you at all levels: emotionally, mentally, and spiritually, and that would be very aligned with who you are. Greg’s advice to people who feel like they need to please the job market, their boss, the management, or anything for their careers to progress. Twenty-eight days of this practice will help change your perception of life and yourself. To be in the business world, the intention should be that you want to be yourself simply within that world and to let go of the belief that you have to fake it to make it. Be in a space that you consider sacred when doing meditation. You don't want your room to be a mess because otherwise, you're probably going to be like the space. Remember that order brings clarity. Why self-trust is the magic ingredient and how you can use your abilities for light work, especially in the business world.   By understanding, by going inward, you're growing your soul and your energetic capacity to be able to handle and hold space for all of those different energies around you, and then you become a living example in the workplace.
