CBD
Look, we're not drugs people but this week we're talking about something drugs-adjacent, so be cool. CBD, which is derived from dirty filthy drugs, is legal in the US and has somehow become the hottest new trend. Since we're essentially investigative journalists, we had to try it for ourselves and report back. The Sopranos
What in the gabagool!?! That’s right, this week we’re talking all about the show that turns 20 years old this week and changed television forever: The Sopranos. Tim likes it so much that he read a book about it even. A book about a TV show, what’ll they think of next huh folks? Tom’s seen a few episodes here and there as well. This week’s episode is brought to you by the official launch of our brand new show Books: The Podcast available exclusively through the TCGTE Patreon. Each week on Books: The Podcast we’ll be diving deep into one of the many old and modern day classics. Tim and Tom switch off book for book and have to explain the book to the other, then at the end we watch a movie based on it and see how they measure up. Sully (Episode 500)
It’s our 500th episode and what better way to celebrate than having two heroes (Tim and Tom) pay tribute to another hero, Captain Chesley Burnett “Sully” Sullenberger III, the US Airways pilot responsible for the Miracle on the Hudson 10 years ago this week after two goddamn birds tried to take everything away from him. While we have long admired Sully, neither of us had ever watched his movie despite it starring Tom Hanks, another longtime hero. Wow, four heroes in one show. We really pulled out all the stops for this one. We even had a few famous names call in to congratulate us, despite our insistence that we’re not heroes. Not compared to Sully at least. We’re probably heroes compared to a lot of other people though. Anyway, it’s our 500th episode.Squarespace: Go to squarespace.com/guide for a free trial and when you’re ready to launch, use the offer code GUIDE to save 10% off your first purchase of a website or domain.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

As the swingers in the famous movie The Swingers said, "Las Vegas, baby!" That's what we're talking about this week because Tom went to Vegas and has bravely decided to break the law and disclose what happened there. And what happened in Vegas? Dracula
As we conclude Halloween Month, we take a look at the original scary dude, Dracula. And even though you think doing research on Dracula would be fun and spooky, we learned the hard way that the original source material that introduces this guy who is undead, sucks blood and can turn into a bat and a wolf-thing, is actually kinda boring. Tom read Bram Stoker's original book and Tim watched the 1931 Bela Lugosi-starring movie (a totally fair division of work), so we have a lot to share.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

Halloween Month continues this week with a look at one of history's greatest monsters, Frankenstein. "But Frankenstein is the doctor, not the monster," you say, trying to be clever. Well guess what, pal? We were talking about the doctor. You see, the doctor IS the monster because he created a monster. The monster he created? Frankenstein.Anyway, Tom read the classic book and Tim watched the classic movie, so this week we're comparing notes.
