Letting Go To Grow

Episode 22 - Letting Go to Grow Does it feel like you're constantly pushing to get to the next level? In this episode, I invite you to look at a few key areas in your business where it might be time to let go. Let go? Isn’t that the opposite of what I should be doing right now? I know this is exactly what you are thinking because I’ve been there! You are constantly busy, hustling, pushing forward, and sometimes, it's what the business needs, but other times, it's not. If you're early in your business perhaps you need to let go of "perfectionism." Ask yourself, is your need for content to be perfect getting in the way of getting content out to the people who need it? Reality check: there will always be something in your business that isn't perfect, so might as well embrace that now. If you're further along in your business, and you're running out of hours in the day then it may be time to let go of control and ask for help. And if you're past the 6-figure mark, you may need to practice letting go in a very special, nuanced area... Lianne talks about the law of detachment and how applying it to our business (though this might feel counterintuitive) can absolutely bring about more. In this episode, I want to remind you that YOU are not your accomplishments, that being done is better than perfect and that sometimes letting go, though it feels counterproductive is actually the thing you and your business needs most. Finding more Joy in your Business with Lea Pickard

Finding more Joy in your Business with Lea Pickard

Episode 21 - Finding more Joy in your Business with Lea Pickard Do you find you're still experiencing the same joy and excitement you once did in your business? Or is the honeymoon over? Join me in a conversation with my good friend and entrepreneur Lea Pickard as we talk about finding more joy in our business. Lea is a wellness and happiness expert, which is why I asked her to come on my Forces of Nature retreat in January as our Yoga Instructor, and it's also what makes her the perfect person to talk about how we can create a more blissful business. Lea and I love to gab, so this episode is a long one, but we talk about some things I think everyone can relate to. We talk about why a lot of female entrepreneurs are not feeling more joy and fulfillment in our businesses and how that affects us. We mention the "B word" (burnout) and how we can recover from it, or better yet avoid it altogether. Too many female entrepreneurs talk about how they've experienced burn out at some point in their entrepreneurial journey and Lea and I are both on a mission to put an end to this! Lea shares her insights on the mind-body connection and states the science behind why how we feel in our bodies can affect our mind and vice versa. Plus, you're going to learn a little something about yours truly that you may not know already ;) Lea shares 4 key areas we can work on to start to feel more joy in our business. She shares how tuning into our body, getting more sleep, eating for energy and practicing gratitude will help us be more present, and find more joy in our businesses and in our lives. Is It Time To Build A Team

Is It Time To Build A Team

Episode 20 – Is it time to build a team? How would you like an additional few hours each month to grow your business, reach out to new clients and nurture your existing ones? Are you feeling overwhelmed doing all the things that need attention? Do you find that there aren’t enough hours in the day, or not enough of you to spread around? The solution is simple – by asking yourself a few key questions you can quickly identify which tasks can be handed off to someone else. This will alleviate the stress of trying to accomplish everything alone, and afford you the freedom to focus on growing your business. Building my own team has allowed me to grow my revenue, my impact and my reach. Sounds easy doesn’t it? Many business owners are skeptical though, I hear the same arguments all the time. “I can’t afford it.” “It’s easy for me to do myself, so I’ll just keep doing it.” “I don’t want to manage people!” “No one is going to take as much care as I will.” “It takes too long to train someone else.” Would a 6-figure CEO be doing all the items on their to do list, or do you think that CEO would hire someone else? If the answer is “No” then maybe you shouldn’t be doing it either. If you find yourself waking up already feeling overwhelmed (or maybe you aren’t sleeping well) and you are constantly running out of time, constantly stressed and worried then it’s probably time to think about making some changes. If you find that you are no longer doing what you love, and not loving what you do, then it’s time to get back to the basics and remember what was it about the business that got you going in the first place! If you think you can’t afford additional help then you need to realize that it does cost you when you do it yourself. You are losing the chance to work on clients if you are completing the tasks that someone else can do. When it’s time to build your team it’s important to start slow and keep the lines of communication open when working with someone new. Surround yourself with awesome individuals and match their talents to the items and tasks that need to be completed. Lastly, make sure to touch base on video calls and in person on a regular basis. My team has allowed me to move forward and do the things that I’m supposed to be doing in my business; creating great content, teaching and coaching, building relationships and business development. None of them are full time, but they alleviate the time I’m spending on items I shouldn’t be doing. Social Media Marketing With Rick Mulready

Social Media Marketing With Rick Mulready

Episode 19 - Social Media Marketing with Rick MulreadyEvery good coach has a good coach, and I'm no exception. One year ago, I made the decision to work with someone in the exact area I needed help in my business - online marketing. I knew the basic principles, but I also knew how much I didn't know. Enter Rick Mulready. Basically, if you want to know anything about FB or IG ads, he's your guy! You might recognize his name from Amy Porterfield's podcast, because Rick is basically Amy's "work husband", and has been her right-hand guy when it came to all things FB ads for a long time. He's a guest teacher in her new course Digital Course Academy and he's also been a guest on her podcast a ton of times. I have been working with Rick for the past 9 months, and it has been a complete game changer for me. Rick was a huge catalyst for me in starting my own podcast and has basically helped me show up in a much bigger way online than ever before. In this candid conversation, Rick shares some of the biggest mistakes he is seeing with social media marketing and how to avoid them. He also shares specific strategies for both Facebook and Instagram ads, including what's working now, whether recorded video is better than a Facebook Live, how to find new audiences to target with ads, how to set up a "lead magnet" ad, and so much more!A big part of our chat centres around how we can all overthink things when it comes to our marketing. We talk about some of the mental roadblocks that show up for a lot of us online entrepreneurs, and how to get past them and get out of our own way. Here's one big thing I have learned - online marketing has as much to do with mindset as it does strategy. We need to get over our need to do things the "right" way and just be ready to try stuff out and see what works. But this podcast episode will definitely get you moving in the right direction. Links mentioned in this episode:Gary Vaynerchuk, AuthorBook: Jab, Jab, Jab, Right Hook; How to tell your Story in a Noisy Social Worldhttps://www.garyvaynerchuk.comMamas & Co. www.mamasandco.caAmy Porterfieldhttps://www.amyporterfield.comRick MulreadyPodcast - https://rickmulready.com/category/aoptpodcast/Host Program - https://ez208.isrefer.com/go/foundations/lianne/NOTE: the copy for this final link should read "Interested in learning more about FB ads with Rick? Check out his training.

Raising Your Standards With Lesley Wong

Raising Your Standards With Lesley Wong

Episode 18 – Raising your Standards with Lesley WongIn this episode I speak with Lesley Wong, a very talented interior designer, who shares her inspiring story about how she went from burnt out to booked out in less than 8 months. When I met Lesley in the fall of 2018, she and her business were stuck. She was working 16 to 18-hour days, and while she had many clients, they weren’t necessarily her Dream Clients. She had no work life balance and her family her sense of self and her business were all suffering as a result. Lesley joined my Dream Client Formula course, and the rest (as they say) is history. Lesley explains that how as a solopreneur she was literally chasing her tail. She was accepting work from all potential clients whether they were good or not. She wasn’t being selective, she was doing too much for too little and was headed for burnout. So often business owners (especially service providers) end up running out of hours in the day. In order to grow a business, it takes raising your standards. It’s okay to say no to work that doesn’t allow you to shine in your business. It’s also very important to get clear on what you are actually paying yourself. In fact, Lesley dove deep and was embarrassed at what her per hour rate actually was. She realized she wasn’t valuing her time and abilities and charging the right amount of money. This was one of the first (in a series of many) changes that she made over the next few months. In that moment of clarity; Lesley committed to raising her price and her standards. She describes it as an “Ah-Ha!” moment. Another big change for Lesley was learning how to let her confidence shine through. She practiced her sales conversations over and over until they became less awkward and difficult. This made it so much easier when the time came to speak with a new potential Dream Client. By purposely choosing the right kind of client, she’s now using her time a whole lot more efficiently. It has been life changing for her and her family. By saying no to the clients who are not a fit, she is opening the door for the ones who are. Lesley is an authority in her field, speaking at home shows and enjoying new multi-million dollar projects. Now she is now enjoying renewed confidence, both personally and professionally. The 3 Keys to Selling with Confidence

The 3 Keys to Selling with Confidence

Today I share 3 Keys to Selling with Confidence. Selling is a learned skill, a mindset and an integral part of a successful business. So, if you don’t feel like an expert at sales don’t worry, hang tight and listen in for the tricks of the trade. We need to get into the mindset that there are thousands of people that are struggling and they need you, your expertise and guidance. By not sharing this with others, you are doing them a disservice.. you could be helping people learn and grow. View selling as an invitation for others to use your programs and services. Think of what your products and services can do for others.Understand that when you deny other people of your own unique skills and gifts, you are essentially keeping them from being their best selves. All because you think you are too shy or not good enough at selling. The mistakes I see most often are easy to fix, but just require courage to get started. Many business owners have trouble getting past a perfectionist attitude to get to the initial conversation. It can be as easy as figuring out if there is a way to offer a sample or a free trial of your services so those potential clients can get a taste of what working with you is like. The 3 Keys to Selling with Confidence include: As really great questions, and then listen! Sprinkle the conversation with “credibility nuggets”Be clear and unapologetic on what you are offering and how much it will cost. Remember, it’s not about you but about the potential client. Listen to their needs, be empathetic to their issues and share experiences you have had with others. So many of us lack the confidence to show how we are the expert or the best in what we do. The mistake I see the most often is when the offer is presented. If you do it right, then the potential client will become a client, they will see the value in working with you and will want your services or products. Taking Massive Rapid Action With Nicola Holmes

Taking Massive Rapid Action With Nicola Holmes

Episode 16 – Taking Massive Rapid Action with Nicola HolmesThis episode is all about taking massive rapid action in your business. Nicola Holmes, one of my favourite clients, is a Life Coach. She and I discuss the journey she took from feeling stuck as an entrepreneur, and not knowing what action to take next, to having a diverse practice working with clients she loves. All in the space of 8 months. After 10 years of 1:1 coaching, Nicola felt she had been nurturing a hobby instead of a business. New clients were attained through word of mouth instead of marketing and communication strategies. She was emerging from the weeds of being a new mom and was longing to make a career as a life coach. Enter Marie Forleo’s B-School program, which laid a great foundation for marketing new business. Nicola learned so much but still couldn’t figure out how to put it all together. Nicola quickly realized that sometimes we just can’t expect to know how to do everything or know everything within our business, and that yes, sometimes even coaches need coaches! We started working together and Nicola now says the fit was great because she needed my strength in sales and marketing, so she could attract new business and focus on what she does best. In entrepreneurship, when you feel like you have an area that’s holding you back the worst thing you can do to is to run from it. The best way to handle it is to tackle it head on, make it your focus, your mission to overcome it. Hire an expert in that field - the best you can afford, one who will teach and nurture you. When looking to level up from B-School, Nicola made the leap of faith and became one of my coaching clients, in order to grow her business. For Nicola, the stakes were high. She has 2 young children at home and needed to bring in an income along with her partner. She required the clarity she needed to help with sales, marketing and business design. Her new motto? “It’s go time, baby!”Advice for listeners who need to make a big bold move: Encourage everyone to be brave and embrace the willingness to take the big scary risks Don’t undervalue the importance of community Surround yourself with people you admire and who support youUnderstand that in order to live it, you have to give it! Figure out what you aren’t strong at, and be open to receiving the help you need to overcome. At the end of the day it’s so worth it to go for our dreams and our goals. Nicola is a living, breathing example of what is possible. How To Get More Clients

How To Get More Clients

Episode 15 – How to Get More ClientsDo you know how to get more leads, and more clients? How do you attract those top raving fans, those high-quality people into your business?Well my friend, I can tell you that it’s as much about mindset as it is about strategy. It’s about raising our standards for who you want to allow into your business and who you are meant to serve. Here are three things that you need to get very clear on in your mind about your Dream Client: Know who you were meant to serveKnow what offers you have for themKnow what a full client roster looks like for youMany of us get into a vicious cycle of taking on clients that aren’t a fit for our business. We start to doubt ourselves when this happens, and our confidence takes a hit. We need to be brave and raise our standards of who we want to work with and serve, and learn to say no to the clients that are showing red flags. Energetically, we are saying to the world “I expect better of my clients; I expect more from my clients; and I only work with the very best clients.” Get clear on the behaviours that tell us if someone is not suitable to work with you. In my course “Dream Client” https://www.liannekim.com/dreamclient I will teach you the formula designed to grow your business while attracting only the very best clients for you to work with. In it we cover different marketing strategies and strategies on how to show your dream clients what it would be like to work with you. If you are looking to get more dream clients you first need to get clear on who they are, and what the red flags are. Following that you put out great marketing; offer an experience and share knowledge (and leave them wanting more); then they then join you in a conversation so they get a feel for whether or not they should be working with you; then you move to the sale. You need to believe that you are amazing at what you do! You deserve to work with only the very best clients, and you need to be bold enough to get clear on who you want to work with and be brave enough to say no when necessary. Don’t worry, you’ve got this!

In order to get attention, we need to be that that smiling face in the crowd! Tune in to hear a lively discussion between myself and Laura Beauparlant filled with tips on how to brand your business and grow your following on social media. Laura Beauparlant of Lab Creative talks about her strategies for branding small business. She explains how every journey is different and filled with so many things, that it’s never static. Through her own journey, Laura has found her voice, and she has honed how to attract the right client. Her mission? To make branding and design accessible to every business owner; to be value packed and affordable. Laura gets the most joy helping the small business owner who is passionate about what they do and why they started their business. Entrepreneurs must get back in touch with the “why and how” to reach those clients that they are meant to serve. Laura describes her “Common Thread Approach,” which is further explained in her book “Brand Chemistry.” Once you figure out what the “common thread” is between all your dream clients, you build it into your brand, then focus on reaching them. Biggest mistakes that people are making in branding:Consistency; Or a lack of! Laura invites everyone to pull up their social media, website and marketing materials. Make sure that the formatting matches, meaning that everything is consistent in style, colour and fonts. Current photos; Pictures you post of yourself on social media should be current, so if you were to bump into someone who follows you they would recognize you immediately.Key Ingredients for a killer brand:Consistency; It’s how you answer the phone, the quality of the products and services you offer, and how you represent yourself on social media. Authenticity; In a world where there is less and less human interaction; you need a brand that is real, visible and authentic. It has to be something that you are proud of and confident in. Clarity; Who do you want to serve and why?Handles; Do your social media accounts and domain name match in name and style? The Importance Of Brand Photography With Natalie Amlani

The Importance Of Brand Photography With Natalie Amlani

Episode 13 – The Importance of Brand Photography with Nathalie AmlaniIn this episode I speak with Nathalie Amlani of Pictonat Photography about the importance of social media in small business. Online presence is an absolute must in today’s day and age, and entrepreneurs need more images of themselves as well as their products and services. Your followers care about your product, but they are equally interested in who you are, what you do, and why you do it! Having candid shots of yourself will enhance your online presence, your brand, and build trust with your followers. It’s Nathalie’s mission to assist small business owners in building authentic images of themselves and their brand, and to help build a connection with their audience. Ideally, small business owners need an ongoing source of images that continue to grow along with them. When it comes to brand photography Nathalie warns business owners to beware of mistakes that she often sees in social media. The biggest mistake she sees (the most often) is a lack of photos of the face of the business (ie: the business owner), Nathalie explains that followers are interested in the person behind a company, and that being able to put a face to a business or brand provides insight and a personal touch. It is worth the expense to find a professional photographer who does branding specific photography once or twice a year in order to have multiple shots done to be used in the upcoming months. It is also important to consider having a photoshoot done in order to tell the story of you and the direction you want to take your business. Although brand photography is an added business expense, it is worth it to have candid shots that are done correctly from the start so you aren’t wasting time and energy trying to find something to post. Once the shoot is done you simply pre-schedule the shots over the coming months, so you can focus on other things.Choose your photographer carefully; photos often aren’t natural for most people, so having someone you have a strong sense of trust with is going to make you feel more comfortable. A photographer that has a specific social media branding package or session will give you the most value. They will capture exactly what you want to see and will work with you on your story session. They will ensure that your time is used carefully, and will get your photos back to you quickly. If you feel you need better pictures, you should just go for it. It will attract people to follow you, and will help to tell your story and elevate your brand. This is an investment into your business, not just another expense. People want to see you in action!Links mentioned in this episode: Nathalie Amlani, PhotographerEmail: [email protected]: www.pictonat.comInstagram: @pictonatphoto

Getting Media Attention for your Business with Jennifer Singh

Getting Media Attention for your Business with Jennifer Singh

Episode 12 – Getting Media Attention for your Business with Jennifer SinghJennifer Singh is a TV reporter turned Media Coach. She works exclusively with women entrepreneurs and small business owners to help them get media exposure for their products and services. Jennifer started working as a reporter at the age of 18, at CTV in Scarborough. She explains how as a general assignment reporter any story can be thrown at you at any time. It teaches you to be very agile, being able to turn nothing into something. Often, she would go to an assignment that she knew nothing about, then have to quickly turn it into news. She knew that being a reporter was not something that she wanted to do for her whole life, in the back of her mind she knew she would make a shift at some point in her life. Jen and I talk about how there’s not enough representation of females in media, she would like to help to amplify the female voice, and there’s no time like right now with everything that’s happening in the world. Her number 1 mission? To help women amplify voice and be their authentic self. She is the expert at helping female business owners pitch their business to the media, her clients routinely get on radio and television and are invited to podcasts. Jen’s clients have been featured on The Social, Global News, CP24 Breakfast Television, CBC Metro Morning (radio show), and CTV News. Many of the small business owners she’s worked with didn’t know where to start or knew the full power of media. With her history as a reporter, Jen has become so in tune with what the media wants, she is able to pitch the story to the right news cycle, she often knows what topics are trending, she uses this as a tool for writing her pitch. Everyone has a story to tell; you just need to know how to figure out how to connect it to the news cycle.Should we be using our media features as our content? Yes! We should be sharing the audio clips and videos as content to help us grow our brand and build our credibility online! This exposure acts as double duty; do one interview then share it on multiple social media platforms. Traditional media sources were radio, TV and print. Modern media is now social media; our audience is not always able to tune in live, which is why sharing it on social media has become so important. A client of Jenn’s had an interview with CTV, which CTV then shared on their FB page; the video was viewed over 10k times in 3 days. Getting into the media isn’t as hard as people think it is! Creating An Audience Of Raving Fans With Brittany Young

Creating An Audience Of Raving Fans With Brittany Young

Episode 11 – Creating an Audience of Raving Fans with Brittany YoungWho is your target audience, and what do they want? Do you know how to get them to buy from you? In this episode I talk with Brittany Young, creator of Certified Celebrator who sold 400 tickets in only 8 minutes (and crashed her own website and the ticket website while doing it)! Tune in to hear how she did it. Brittany Young is a mom and a Certified Celebrator. Her business, Certified Celebrations, teaches busy Mom’s how to be “intentional” about celebrating and building family memories, all on a realistic budget. Her mandate is simple, to be intentional about celebrating and creating a joyful home for families. Starting out Brittany quickly realized that building authentic relationships required targeted content. Once she targeted the working mom of elementary school kids, she was surprised to note that a new audience emerged, the Grandma’s! She learned that by building an audience of raving fans she had to let go of the people she didn’t want to serve and focus in on her target audience. Her advice for someone just starting on social media? Pick one platform, develop relationships there and master it before adding a new one. Rachel also talks about how her mindset changed. She speaks about how she needed to bring and share what she had so her followers would become clients later on. Be visible and don’t be intimidated, be your authentic self and your target audience will only want more of you. Find your excitement, when you love and are passionate about what you do; you can get excited easily, so dig deep, share and enjoy. Our discussion ends on being authentic and real – how much is too much? If there’s something your audience likes, then use that to keep them inspired and interested. Just be you, and let your personality shine through. The more you, you can be, the easier it will be for the right people will find their way to you. The 4 Essential Ingredients Your Content Must Have

The 4 Essential Ingredients Your Content Must Have

Episode 10 - The 4 Essential Ingredients Your Content Must Have Our content is the vehicle that we are using to reach and engage our people all the time.In this episode I talk about how to connect, educate, engage and inspire action in your business. Last week we broke down 3 ways you can share content with your audience, if you haven’t heard it then please take a listen here. https://www.liannekim.com/blog/9 So, whether it’s blogging, podcasts or videos, it has to be the kind of thing that will allow people to get to know you, enjoy you, and then to connect with you! Connect – If you are doing it right you are putting out something consistently (weekly, biweekly or monthly).  Your audience should be used to hearing from you so you can help and serve them. When you are creating your content keep in mind that old adage, facts tell and stories sell! Educate – What do you want to be known for?   What can you give your audience weekly to build their trust and support?Engage – We have to continue them on their journey by engaging them. Inspire Action – When someone signs up it tells us they are taking a leap of faith, they are ready to learn more from us. It’s a stepping stone from “I don’t know you,” to “I kind of know you,” to “I’m engaged and I’m ready to buy.” This is all part of a bigger journey.   My call to action for today – Please go ahead and send me an email or reply to this podcast and let me know what is resonating with you, or what you thought about this, or if there was a piece you wanted to know more about.

How to Choose the Right Content Platform

Episode 9 – How to Choose the Right Content Platform Today’s episode is a deep dive into 3 very popular and different types of content, so you can figure out which is best for you and your business. As a business coach who helps entrepreneurs I know how important content is for your business.  It is a great way to position yourself as an expert and a thought leader. Your free content, whether it is blogs, podcasts or videos is a great way for people to get to know you, and for you to reach them.   Creating content is a privilege, not a chore! I want to remind you that your content is sometimes the first exposure to you and your brand.  If it’s doing its job then it’s helping them to see you and what you can do for them.Blogs – Blogs are the easiest and most accessible form of content. With no special equipment necessary (no added expense), there should be an easy way for you to schedule and manage your blog right on your website!   Podcasts - With podcasts, my audience can hear my voice and feel my enthusiasm, it’s a wonderful tool which allows people to understand who we are better when they can actually listen to us (as opposed to reading text in a blog).  Getting my podcast started took a while though, because as a technophobe I had to embrace the technology, as well as to purchase the necessary equipment. Video – Video is the King of content! Look at Marie Forleo https://www.marieforleo.com/ who is gifted at putting out regular videos. You do not have to be a TV star to nail this! By the year 2022 it’s expected that the majority of all content will be in the form of videos. A big plus of video is that it gives potential clients a taste of what working with you would really be like.   Create a formula that works for you and stick with it!  Get your audience used to hearing from you on a regular basis, in the hopes that they would get excited about hearing from you regularly! Do what feels right for you! How To Know If It's Time To Rebrand

How To Know If It's Time To Rebrand

Episode 7 - How To Know If It's Time To RebrandIn January of this year I rolled out a new brand with a shiny new website (complete with new platform), new business name and a new content delivery system… all really big changes in a business!  You don’t have to go all in the way I did, there is not always a need for a complete reinvention.  Sometimes it’s just coming up with a new name, colours, logo etc., for me I really got to a point where the old brand wasn’t serving me anymore and it wasn’t me, not what I wanted to be known for.In this podcast I outline the steps I took while making my decision, and creating my new brand. Mission - My mission had changed, I had built my website and had started taking clients on the side of a full-time permanent career. I was now a fully time bona-fide entrepreneur, my site needed to reflect that! Clients - Who I was serving changed.   Over time and through my coaching work I discovered that I’m not cut out for everyone, but my messaging was too generic in the original model so I needed to update it.   Me - I had changed.  This is the hardest part for me to speak about, when I set out initially I didn’t really know what I was doing. I started thinking about rebranding to LianneKim.com, and in 20 minutes I had a mind map about who I am and although it was really hard it was great to see what I wanted to be known for. I’ll be honest, I thought about this for over a year.  I had bought my domain name over two years ago before actually doing anything about it.  It’s not about a logo, new colours or a new font for me, it was about uncovering the person that I wanted to become.  3 Questions to ask yourself:   Is your mission the same as it was when you launched your existing brand?  Has the person I am serving changed in the last couple of years?  Has the client evolved or become more specific? Are you the same person as you were when you did your current branding materials? Links mentioned in this podcast:Lianne Kimhttps://www.liannekim.comNathalie Amlani http://pictonat.com

Simple Money Habits That Can Change Your Business

Simple Money Habits That Can Change Your Business

Episode 4 - Simple Money Habits That Can Change Your BusinessThis episode covers the money habits that have the ability to change your entire business simply by implementing them! Last week was about Money Mindset, this week we are going to talk strategy! This is more of the practical side of what I coach and teach, as well as my Mini Course which called Profit and Prosper, as well as the free Mini Course which is called Profit Year. If you are at all struggling with the money side of your business, I encourage you to sign up for the free course. https://thinkbigsalesconsulting.lpages.co/profit-year/Money Habits The money side of your business is a muscle that need to be challenged, the same way you would train for a marathon, you practice a little every day to achieve your money goals. The following are habits, not one time activities, these are consistent exercises that should be done on an ongoing basis. Daily – Visualize your Daily Goal Visualize the target you are currently working towards. I visualize myself writing it down and/or entering it on a spreadsheet. I know it sounds crazy, but visualizing it makes it manifest. I zero in on the number I want to achieve, when I do this I feel like the kind of woman that I would feel like if I made that money. Do this every day until you achieve the goal, and if you’ve achieved it then raise it! Weekly – Make offers Do not sit back and wait for leads or clients to come to you. This is a very passive approach which will work, but very slowly. Plan for a number of sales or discovery calls per week in order to grow your business, these will lead to offers. Do this in a way that feels good, and keep in mind that it should come from the place where you want to help and serve someone else. Even if it is a free session, it’s still making an offer and still counts.Monthly – Look at the Numbers Many of us only look at the money once a year, when it's tax time. This is a terrible activity as we do it at a time when we are stressed out, and it’s too late to do anything about it! Starting now, take 2 hours at the beginning of each month to look at the money. You should be using an accounting program, Freshbooks, Wave, Quickbooks, etc., these will calculate your sales and expenses. Get clear on what is happening! If you want the details, you should sign up for my free mini-course, but basically you need to know what’s coming in and going out. You need that clarity every 30 days. If you aren’t hitting your goals, then you will start to see why. You need to know where you are at the beginning of each month, quarterly is too long and weekly is too short. Annually – Raise your rates Every year you become better at your craft. You are helping more people, and helping to create better results out in the world and you should be paid more. When you worked as an employee, you received a raise just for showing up! As an entrepreneur we need to do this for ourselves. It’s our job to be the boss, put on our CEO hat and raise our rates. I’m doing more and giving better results. I do this at the end of December and early January, and I know exactly how much money came into my business. Charge more money, get fewer clients, but make sure that the clients you get in are the ones that really value what you bring to the table. That’s what is going to change your business. You deserve to pay yourself well, once a year give yourself a raise. The course will give you more clarity, more of what you want and how to know if you are achieving it! When you leave this course, you will be armed and ready to tackle 2019. https://thinkbigsalesconsulting.lpages.co/profit-year/

Money Beliefs That Are Holding You Back

Money Beliefs That Are Holding You Back

Today we are talking about mindset and beliefs.  99.9% of thoughts we have in our heads are not facts - they are the beliefs we have about the facts. Is this a belief, or a fact?  All the time we are judging and making assumptions, and our beliefs can be positive or negative, today we are going to take a look at the most common beliefs about money and how they may be holding you back.  Resist the temptation to judge yourself, it’s really holding you back and is not helpful.  We need to take notice about how we feel and think about money, so we can make some positive changes. If we held onto the beliefs we’ve had all our lives we wouldn’t be able to move forward.  We can change our beliefs and it starts today.  Identify the negative beliefs that are holding you back.  Money mindset resources:Think and Grow Rich - Napoleon Hill https://www.amazon.ca/Think-Grow-Rich-Million-Dollars/dp/0449214923/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1547576101&sr=8-1&keywords=think+and+grow+richDenise Duffield Thomas; there are books and a podcast that are available on her website.  https://luckybitch.com/Mini Course - Profit Year; a free resource that is open to anyone who is interested and it will change the way anyone who is interested.  https://thinkbigsalesconsulting.lpages.co/profit-year/5 Money beliefs that are holding you backNo-one is going to pay THAT for what I do!  It’s not serving us, and it’s not true!  No matter what you do, there is someone else who also does it and may charge more! Your clients cannot pay if you don’t ask them to. If you want to know if someone will pay, raise your rates and see what happens! Do not make excuses, justify your rates, or offer discounts. I can’t charge that because I’m just starting out!   Stop comparing yourself to people who have more experience than you.  I have many clients who are ready to buy when they talk to me, they aren’t shopping around or comparing me to others.Set a Goal - I don’t want to set a goal in case I don’t make it!This is a belief I see in 2 types of people: “A” Type personalities that hate to fail, and beginner business owners.  Not writing down or stating your goal is immature, a beginner way of thinking. I challenge you to set a financial target for 2019.  I am already too expensive, I couldn’t possibly charge more!  Do not hold onto the belief that you aren’t worth what you charge. Even when we feel we are already too expensive, we are saying that we aren’t worth more. Add value, think of other ways you can do more for your clients. How can you help them achieve better results? If I charge that,  people will think I’m greedy or that I’m too pushy!  What other people think of us, is frankly none of our business!  The people who judge me are not the people that I care about, they are likely not going to be my clients and are definitely not going to become my friends. People who feel that way should not be  affecting how you show up in your business. Look for your true supporters, and behave in a way that will support.  People will think I’m worth every penny and that I’m a total value and that I will get them results.  This is a new belief that I’ve had to work on over the last few years.  My raving fans do not shop around, they are ecstatic to work with me.  How will this belief serve me in my journey? Every day our financial success depends on these beliefs.

My Number One Goal for 2019

My Number One Goal for 2019

Episode 2 – My Number 1 Goal for 2019 Goals, goals, goals! This is something that tends to come up at the beginning of each year. I have a larger revenue goal for 2019, you should have one too. What is your revenue goal for 2019? There should always be a revenue goal, but it doesn’t need to be the main goal. Liannekim.com is my new website, which is launching soon! My number 1 goal for 2019 is to be more ME than ever before! Sound strange? The thought behind this is that I’ve struggled with everyday life, with people judging me, imposter syndrome, self-doubt, haters, overwhelm, and I struggle with being authentic, and how to be ME. I want to be okay with not being liked, I want to be okay to just be myself. As someone who is my brand, I want to focus on the people that do like me, or that do get me. I want to concentrate on those who do appreciate what I bring to the table. Those are the people who are going to get my full attention in 2019. This is a journey, not a destination. I want to be sharing that side of my story, what’s not working in my business, so that others can learn from my mistakes as well. Don’t get sucked into the negativity in this world. Do not get hurt or bothered by those people who don’t love you, this should be a goal for 2019.

My Formula for Business Success

My Formula for Business Success

Episode 1 - My Formula for Business SuccessIn this episode I speak about my secret formula for business success, and let me tell you, it’s probably not what you think! For me, success means nothing if you are not personally fulfilled and have the life of your dreams! I’m a big believer in getting really clear on what you want your life to look like. Want more time for travel? Time for your partner and kids? You can create the life and business you want. Making great money and having a great life are not mutually exclusive, you can have both! My 3 Ingredient formula – what it means to me and how to get it! Mindset – when working with entrepreneurs we have to get clear on having the right mindset in place! It’s like physical fitness, you don’t go once a year to the gym and expect to be fit. It’s a daily practice, we have to continue to train and work on. No one is going to believe in you, if you don’t believe in you!Books that I would recommend on the subject – Think and Grow Rich (https://www.amazon.ca/Think-Grow-Rich-Updated-Century/dp/1453644911/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1544583990&sr=8-2&keywords=think+and+grow+rich%27) (money mindset), The Secret (https://www.amazon.ca/Secret-Rhonda-Byrne/dp/1582701709/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1544584061&sr=1-1&keywords=The+Secret) (personal development), this one is about the law of attraction and personally I’ve achieved many things in life due to some of the ideas in this book. Another great book is The Magic of Thinking Big (https://www.amazon.ca/Magic-Thinking-Big-David-Shwartz/dp/1897384424/ref=sr_1_2?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1544584144&sr=1-2&keywords=the+magic+of+thinking+big), it speaks to needing to think big in all aspects of your life. A big shout out to James Wedmore, his podcast “Mind Your Business” (https://itunes.apple.com/ca/podcast/the-mind-your-business-podcast/id1074394632?mt=2) he gives great talks about how having a positive mindset is so great for your business. Go check him out! Mindset is foundational, it’s a muscle that we need to train day in and day out. My mindset is that I CAN do this, and I SHOULD do this! Success is 80% mindset and 20% mechanics, the How To’s. If you have the mindset then the mechanics becomes a lot easier.Strategy – Entrepreneurs need to have a solid business model. Tactics vs Strategy – Tactics are the small things we do every day. Strategy is figuring out how we are going to get there. Need to have a strong strategy before the tactics will make sense! What are you all about? Who is buying your product? What is your plan? Strategy’s change, evolve and grow in your business. Don’t get stuck on the action piece of the business, focus on the strategy too!Intentional Action (Hustle!) – You will need to do a lot of hustling in the first year or so of your business because new business won’t just fall into your lap. We have to act and be seen so our clients can find us! Don’t wait for opportunities, create them if necessary. Are you making excuses? If so, then you need to be more intentional in your actions. My goal for this podcast is for you to stretch your thinking, dig deep into your dreams and consider the following questions: What is the mindset I’ve put in place? What is the overarching strategy that I’ve put in place? What are the intentional actions that are helping me get to this success? This is all about believing in yourself, even when other people don’t!
