And I want you to know that that's just not true. The answer is always internal. It's inside of you.” “We often believe clarity has to be difficult, hard and painful to get. But that's just not true. It's our approach that is difficult, hard and painful.” “It's all possible, but it's only possible when we look at our circumstances and recognize where I am today is not the life I want to be repeating, and I'm done just tolerating what I have I want more.” Additional Resources: Get clarity on where you are on your journey to career fulfillment, where you’re headed, optional paths to get there, and the right next step to take. EP 264: Challenging Boss or Coworker? Here’s What to Do
Do you often come home from work feeling emotionally drained from dealing with a toxic boss or a challenging work relationship? Just making it through the workday under these circumstances can feel like an accomplishment, but the truth is that over time, a toxic workplace will wear you down. “Life is teaching us lessons, and we will keep getting that lesson over and over and over again until we learn it. It first starts as a whisper, then a knock, then a bang on the door, and then the whole damn thing will come down.” Today on The Bridge to Fulfillment Ⓡ, Blake digs into the most common issues people experience in challenging workplace relationships, sharing strategies to help you reduce stress and identify the right next steps to take. What You’ll Learn: Common workplace patterns that lead to self-doubt (1:10) Existing in a fear-based work environment (2:13) How to start removing toxic people from your life (5:29) Understanding your values and finding alignment (9:00) Identifying the characteristics of poor leadership (10:52) Favorite Quotes: “If you stay in toxic circumstances or situations and either attempt to somehow make it work, avoid the conflict, or start blaming yourself… all of these are signs that you've had trauma.” –Blake Schofield “It can become easy to get into a culture where people complain about work or complain about coworkers. All that does is create more toxicity.” –Blake Schofield “When you value yourself, understand those healthy communication styles and how to vet leadership and organizations in a way that is supportive and aligned with that, you will no longer continue to suffer these issues.” –Blake Schofield “There are healthy companies and there are toxic companies. There are companies who really empower people to learn how to collaborate, resolve conflict, and work together, and there are companies that do the opposite. Fear-based companies only care about how you perform. They don't care about what that environment actually looks like for their employees.” –Blake Schofield Additional Resources: Get clarity on where you are on your journey to career fulfillment, where you’re headed, optional paths to get there, and the right next step to take. EP 263: The Truth About Procrastination: What Your Resistance Is Really Telling You with Guest Expert Elyssa Smith
Are you a people pleaser with a high tolerance for handling what life throws at you? Do you pride yourself on your deep empathy for others, often procrastinating on what’s important to you? If perfectionism and procrastination feel like inescapable parts of your life, then life is trying to tell you something. Procrastination isn’t a flaw. It is a signal that’s urging you to dig deeper into your underlying fears, recognize what’s misaligned, and identify what doesn’t feel safe. Today on The Bridge to FulfillmentⓇ, Blake welcomes Elyssa Smith, a trauma-informed life strategist who helps people understand the brain science behind self-sabotage. She’s the founder of Your Best Moment and creator of the Ultimate Self-Regulation Method. Her work empowers women to overcome self-sabotage and trauma and break free from procrastination, people-pleasing, and overwhelm. In this episode, you’ll learn how trauma from our past influences behaviors like procrastination and perfectionism. You’ll begin to understand the two types of pain, identifying the kind that strengthens versus the kind that injures, and why knowing which is which is critical for growth. You’ll gain a fresh perspective on why you might be feeling stuck and how you can finally break free by addressing what feels unsafe. If you’re a high achiever who often pushes yourself into burnout, these actionable strategies will help you shift from survival mode to a place of thriving. What You’ll Learn: Identifying when people pleasing is helpful versus harmful (8:11) The build-up of ‘shoulds’ that keep us stuck (15:03) Pain and our fear of failure (25:32) Big and ‘Tiny T’ traumas that influence our patterns in life (35:25) Working through procrastination (43:13) Favorite Quotes: “I think often we've been rewarded for focusing on everyone else, and in some cases, made to believe that it's selfish to take care of yourself.” –Blake “Helping that's harmful is helping that is at your expense. There's something to be said for sacrificing for other people, but if it's a lifestyle, that's where you get into burnout. That's where you get into resentment.” –Elyssa Smith “The vast majority of our stress, anxiety, and our problems are not circumstantial. It's not the toxic boss or the environment. It's whatever belief systems, patterns, etc, that we are dealing with that are creating that anxiety.” –Blake “We have this special switch that we can turn on or off that's like, ‘I will tolerate more than is reasonable for no good reason’. So I had to find that switch, and I had to turn it off and say, No, babe, we don't need to do that.” –Elyssa Smith “The path of gentleness is sort of paved with a fear of failure. And the fear of failure is what the pain of strengthening looks like.” –Elyssa Smith “If those are your answers, work harder, be better, do more, you know that that is the pain that injures. If the kind of hard work you have to do is face your fears, that's the pain that causes resilience.” –Elyssa Smith Connect with Elyssa Smith: https://elyssasmith.com www.facebook.com/elyssacsmith www.instagram.com/elyssacsmith www.linkedin.com/in/elyssasmith The Stress Less Lounge FB group: https://elyssasmith.com/facebook --------- Additional Resources: Get clarity on where you are on your journey to career fulfillment, where you’re headed, optional paths to get there, and the right next step to take. And so just to have an opportunity for someone else to come in and create a space and guide and challenge is really enlightening.” -–Molly “Those of us who are servant leaders often put all of our energy externally, not really realizing that the investment in ourselves enables us to create far better outcomes for everyone else and ourselves.” –Blake “A huge part of feeling the stress and anxiety of a job actually isn't the job. It's the amount of pressure and lack of comfort that you feel in admitting the things you don't know or asking for help.” –Blake Additional Resources: Get clarity on where you are on your journey to career fulfillment, where you’re headed, optional paths to get there, and the right next step to take. We think, ‘Oh, I don't know anyone. I'm uncomfortable. I don't know what to say, I don't know what to do’. And if we stay stuck in that, we miss the gift of all of the beauty of the things that we can learn.” –Blake “We encourage people in those moments of discomfort to remind themselves of areas where they used to be uncomfortable and that they've grown more comfortable with the discomfort. That's the power of moving forward.” –Justin Jones-Fosu “Even when we are closed-minded, we should always be open-hearted.” –Justin Jones-Fosu “When I gave myself compassion, I could show up more clearly and give others compassion.” –Blake Connect with Justin Jones-Fosu: Book excerpt: https://howtorespectfullydisagree.com/ LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/iworkmeaningful/ Book: https://www.amazon.com/Respectfully-Disagree-Difficult-Conversations-Divided/dp/152300651X Additional Resources: Get clarity on where you are on your journey to career fulfillment, where you’re headed, optional paths to get there, and the right next step to take. EP 260: A Simple Shift to Create Positive Momentum
Do you feel like the world is hopeless, crumbling around you, and full of negativity? Today’s media landscape can make the world seem like a scary place. But the reality is not so lopsided. There’s an abundance of positivity happening in the world. It just doesn’t make the news. Today on The Bridge to FulfillmentⓇ, Blake shares how the negativity bias of the media we consume can easily drag us down, affecting how we see the world and how we feel about our lives. In this episode, you’ll learn how to start paying more attention to the input you’re receiving and exposing yourself to. Whether it’s social media or the nightly news, these outlets have a bias toward negativity and a lasting effect that, over time, distorts our view of the world. You’ll hear about a simple way to shift your habits that will almost effortlessly create more positive momentum in your life. What You’ll Learn: Noticing the input you’re exposing yourself to (0:47) The lasting impact of negative media (1:47) How the media distorts our view of the world (2:31) A simple shift to create more positive momentum in your life (3:57) Journaling your way to a more joyful life (5:32) Favorite Quotes: “There's so much negativity in the world, and it becomes really easy when you're starting to listen to that, to believe that you're seeing the entirety of truth, when, in fact, you really aren't. You're seeing something that's very jaded in one direction. It's sensational.” “I'm no longer consuming things that create negativity, fear, doubt, anxiety or worry that I'm not going to do anything about. Instead, I'm focusing my energy on positive things that move me forward, things that I care about, that I can actually take action on to do something good for the world. And the difference is astounding.” “A very simple shift you can make to get positive momentum in your life is to look at, what are the inputs, what are the relationships I have, and are those people actually breathing life into my life?” “When things become more divisive, when social media becomes louder, when the news really wants to sensationalize even more things, it can become really easy if you allow those things in your life to begin to believe that we are us versus them divided. That all these terrible things are happening in the world when you're missing all of the amazing things that are actually showing up on a day-to-day basis.” Additional Resources: Get clarity on where you are on your journey to career fulfillment, where you’re headed, optional paths to get there, and the right next step to take. You're creating this.” –Brent Webb “I don't believe that any of us can see the totality, but we can benefit from recognizing that we don't.” –Blake “You have to know that life does not have to be hard. EP 258: When It's Not Your Fault
When was the last time you were wronged, disappointed by someone, or taken advantage of? It’s natural when something bad happens to us to want to lay blame. Nothing happens in isolation.” “Understanding co-creation and understanding responsibility enables you to take negative circumstances and create positive outcomes.” “Where can you take responsibility to create forward momentum?” Additional Resources: Get clarity on where you are on your journey to career fulfillment, where you’re headed, optional paths to get there, and the right next step to take. EP 257: A Practical Approach to Navigating Life’s Challenges with Guest Expert Andrea DeWitt
How often do you feel triggered by the words or actions of someone else? When we are emotionally triggered by something, we are usually reacting to a situation instead of responding to it. And when we are reacting instead of responding, we show up as our wounded selves instead of our best selves. That’s when it’s time to pause, ask yourself where this is really coming from, and take a moment to gain clarity so that you can reframe the situation and navigate it from a place of truth and integrity. Today on The Bridge to FulfillmentⓇ, Blake welcomes Andrea Mein DeWitt, author of “Name, Claim & Reframe: Your Path to a Well-Lived Life”, a practical approach to navigating life’s challenges. Her guide teaches you how to name and balance your emotional triggers, claim core value lead actions, and reframe challenges as opportunities so you can live your best life. In this episode, you’ll learn how to listen to your inner compass and allow it to guide you, rather than continue to push it and its message to the background. You’ll hear practical tips for gaining attuned awareness so you can begin to heal yourself from the inside out. You’ll also learn how to lead more intelligently and with more self-compassion so that you can start to rebuild your idea of success on a foundation of truth and authenticity. Until we navigate our inner problems, the changes we make on the outside won’t help us make the fundamental life changes we seek on the inside. What You’ll Learn: Why it’s never too late in life for big changes (3:16) The bold move Andrea made to shift her path in a new direction (11:57) How to be a better, more integrated leader (21:55) Dissecting feedback to uncover the truth (35:58) Cultivating intelligent leadership (43:43) Favorite Quotes: “I think that the battled and bruised healers are the best healers, because they know the pathway and it's okay to make mistakes, because mistakes are where the magic happens.” –Andrea Mein DeWitt “In order to become who you're meant to be, you need to release who you were and trust. My favorite saying is, ‘Leap and the net will appear.’”–Andrea Mein DeWitt “We often don't think about the identities that we give ourselves and how much holding on to those things is destroying our lives.” –Blake “We often talk about leadership in terms of very tactical things, not understanding that the biggest and most powerful way to show up as a leader is to have a level of self-awareness and authenticity. And then being able to create that safe space and authenticity for those around you.” –Blake Additional Resources: Connect with Andrea: https://www.andreadewittadvisors.com/ https://www.andreadewittadvisors.com/leadership-quiz https://www.andreadewittadvisors.com/programs https://www.instagram.com/andreadewittcoaching/ https://www.linkedin.com/in/andrea-mein-dewitt-98694068/ For programs and opportunities to work with Blake, go to www.BlakeSchofield.com

EP 256: The Power of Vulnerability & Building Better Connections with Guest Expert Ryan Kopyar
We’ve all experienced pain and tragedy in our lives. Those experiences often become setbacks that hinder our growth, changing how we view ourselves and experience the world around us. The truth is that pain is simply a part of the human experience. Ultimately, it’s how we deal with that pain that defines the resilience of our character. If you’re able to turn your pain into purpose, you can transform it into power. Today on The Bridge to Fulfillment Ⓡ, Blake welcomes Ryan Kopyar, an internationally licensed counselor. His book, Big Boys Do Cry, focuses on men’s ability to navigate emotions and show vulnerability. In this episode, you’ll hear how Ryan’s experience with personal tragedy and addiction eventually led him on the path to healing through vulnerability. You’ll learn the role that certain events play throughout our lives, and how opening up to face them is the key to real personal growth. You’ll also hear how toxic masculinity affects the lives of men and women, and Ryan share’s his best piece of advice for young people about understanding boundaries. What You’ll Learn: His path from tragedy to transformation (4:27) Connecting the dots of the losses we experience (10:33) Why he wrote a book about vulnerability for men (17:33) Breaking down toxic masculinity (27:12) The importance of setting boundaries (40:39) Favorite Quotes: “Even if we've experienced a tremendous level of pain in our life, we can transmute it, we can shift it, we can give it a new meaning.” –Ryan Kopyar “We don't talk enough about our belief systems and our experiences and how those are the drivers of all of our decisions, until we get to a place where we come to understand that we have a choice and we can change those. We can see them differently. We can give ourselves the things that we didn't have.” –Blake “When I can get in touch with my emotions, now I'm operating from both sides of my brain. Now I'm really powerful. Not powerful in exerting control over others, but powerful in my own sense of self.” –Ryan Kopyar “To truly be successful in where we need to go as a society, it's about getting comfortable with uncertainty. It's about emotional intelligence, it's about being able to relate to and work with people. It's about being able to see problems from new solutions or new angles. All of those things require a level of introspection and a self-awareness that we haven't really been taught previously.” –Blake “I think that one of the biggest lessons that we can teach the youth of today is truly love yourself, and self love very often comes with studying boundaries.” –Ryan Kopyar “It took me a long time to see that taking care of myself first was actually the most selfless thing I could do. That choosing me and choosing boundaries and choosing to put my time, energy, and effort in alignment with how I authentically am and what I believe in, was the most powerful thing I could do.” Additional Resources: Website: https://ryankopyarholistichealing.com/buy-my-book/ On socials: @RyanKopyar For programs and opportunities to work with Blake, go to www.BlakeSchofield.com

If you believe that you have to work a lot of hours in order to make money, if you believe that you have no power to change the things that you want to change in your life, you will create those outcomes.” “I was so stuck in not understanding how to protect money as a resource and therefore that security is a resource, that I couldn't see anything else. I couldn't see that there was abundant opportunity for me, I couldn't see that. I had tremendous skills that could be used in different ways. I could only see the obstacles.” “Life is always teaching us lessons. The question is, are we listening and are we learning them.” “Life really is a beautiful, endearing adventure, and the places in your life that don't feel like what you want, those aren't the obstacles. They're not the things happening to you. They are the possibilities and the opportunities. They're the place to grow.” Additional Resources: For programs and opportunities to work with Blake, go to www.BlakeSchofield.com

EP 254: Which Wolf Are You Feeding?
How much time each day do you spend thinking about your feelings? Not thinking about what you’re feeling…but thinking about what lessons might be waiting underneath to be unwrapped? Every emotion we experience is a gift, and it deserves acknowledgment. The challenge is to know when we’re ruminating on negativity, permit ourselves to feel it, and then…surrender and let it go. Today on The Bridge to FulfillmentⓇ, Blake explains why feeding the negative allows the darkness to outweigh the light. In order to transform emotions into lessons, we have to make sure we don’t get stuck in a cycle of rumination. In this episode, you’ll hear a parable that will help you learn to identify which emotional wolf you’re feeding through the thoughts you’re giving space to. You’ll learn how to shift your perspective by acknowledging the challenges you’re experiencing, but instead of focusing on them, choosing to feed the things that give you life. What You’ll Learn: A Cherokee parable about life (0:47) What to know about the thoughts you let in (2:48) The truth about pushing away negative thoughts (4:08) Allowing space to acknowledge your emotions (5:48) What to do when you’re feeling discontent (8:36) Favorite Quotes: What you think about and what you focus on are perhaps the most important things on a day-to-day basis. When we deny the dark wolf or the negative, we actually create more [negativity]. We can't avoid pain, anger, sorrow, or grief. But we can choose how we deal with it. We can choose to acknowledge how we feel and acknowledge our humanity. Why do I feel this way? What is it teaching me? How can I be grateful for the feeling of discontent and the lesson and then surrender that and move back into a place of empowerment, ownership, and movement in the right direction? EP 253: Break Free from Perfectionism with Guest Expert Dr. Greg Chasson
Raise your hand if you consider yourself a perfectionist. This prompt likely pushes a lot of hands into the air, and it’s even more likely that this “perfectionism” has been touted as a badge of honor. The truth is that perfectionism isn’t doing you any favors. In fact, it’s probably holding you back. Today on The Bridge to FulfillmentⓇ, Blake welcomes Dr. Gregory Chasson, PhD, ABPP, an esteemed psychologist, board-certified cognitive-behavioral therapist, researcher, and educator. As an international speaker, he helps organizations, communities, and individuals address mental health challenges, such as perfectionism, using practical and feasible strategies. In this episode, you’ll learn how perfectionism permeates corporate America, and why that’s not actually a good thing for workplace culture. You’ll discover the connection between perfectionist tendencies and the need for control. You’ll also understand how to overcome perfectionism by first identifying the five primary problems, and then working towards actionable solutions that will help you finally break free. What You’ll Learn: What studying OCD taught him about how he was living his own life (4:59) Why perfectionism is the ultimate irony (11:33) How the technology feedback loop is affecting our mental health (21:00) The five primary perfectionism problems (31:20) Why you should ditch list-making (36:08) Favorite Quotes: How I was approaching the world was not sustainable. It was very difficult to try to please everyone to not try to live your life by your values but by other people's values. –Gregory S. Chasson I had this lightning aha moment of like, ‘Oh, these cycles of burnout, some of the problems I had actually weren’t other people. The only factor here is me. –Blake People are trying to control everything, and they can't, they just can't. They have this illusion or fantasy that these things are all controllable. But they just have all these variables, you end up getting burnt out, and you can't control it all. And it ends up controlling you. –Gregory S. Chasson Mess up quick, move on, and learn from it. –Gregory S. Chasson I call perfectionism the ultimate irony in this a self-fulfilling prophecy of epic proportions. Because you will try to do something so perfectly that you actually undermine yourself to the point where it makes it highly imperfect. –Gregory S. Chasson You will be far more successful when you trust that you don't have to figure it out. When you approach things with flexibility, when you don't feel like you have to plan everything out, but can really focus on the next one to two things that matter. –Blake Additional Resources: Connect with Dr. Gregory S. EP 252: What If It Could Be Easy
Does everything about your life feel complicated? If the answer is yes, then you’re not alone. In our society, we’ve turned complexity into a type of social currency that’s rewarded. Work hard! Overcome obstacles! Do the impossible! But what if all of this difficulty and complexity could be washed away? What if the struggle wasn’t necessary to achieve your goals? What if life could just be easy? Today on The Bridge to FulfillmentⓇ, Blake poses this very question, asking you to apply it to your life. It’s possible that the hills you have to climb to get where you want to be have easier routes than the ones you’re taking. In this episode, you’ll learn why we’re conditioned to think that taking the hard road is the only path to success. You’ll discover how to make your life simpler by asking yourself how you can create more ease and setting yourself up for it from the start. You’ll learn how to overcome complexity and embrace simplicity in order to pave a smoother path to success. What You’ll Learn: A ‘What if’ question that can help simplify your life (0:43) The work it takes to apply a shift in perspective (1:36) The reason we make things harder than they need to be (2:28) Why you should seek the simple answers over the complicated ones (3:26) A challenge for you to simplify (4:16) Favorite Quotes: By spending the time to dig a little deeper upfront, you can stop yourself from spinning your wheels over and over and over again, wasting time and energy doing the wrong thing, and overcomplicating things. –Blake Schofield As a society, we are addicted to things being hard. We are rewarded for persevering through difficult times. We are encouraged to challenge ourselves and do hard things. We feel good when we accomplish things that weren't easy, and in doing so, we actually are creating complexity and we're making things way harder than they need to be. –Blake Schofield The answers are almost always simple. And the more complicated it is, the less likely it will be that we actually accomplish what we want. –Blake Schofield Life really is meant to be simple. We just believe that it needs to be complicated. –Blake Schofield Additional Resources: A more fulfilling career and life starts with gaining control of time, energy, & state of mind. What You’ll Learn: The links between improv and entrepreneurship (5:46) One technique that will help you deal with uncertainty in a more positive light (14:42) What people get wrong about the concept of improv (21:33) A team-building exercise that can help build camaraderie and improve retention (27:21) Using improv as a tool for challenging your beliefs (41:07) Favorite Quotes: “When we look at businesses and teams, often it's the first place where the creativity is gone because the environments are so structured for competition and performance and measurements. We don't realize that to innovate and to drive new ideas, there must be some level of safety, there must be some level of creativity, there must be some level of fun.” –Blake “There's not a lot of places where people get to actually practice the act of management, communicating, leading. And improv provides this very unique, effective, and fun way to do that.” –Mary Lemmer “Feeling sad, feeling angry, feeling afraid..what if you embrace that as a gift? What if you saw those as positive things that are trying to tell you something about yourself, about what you care about, about what your values are? Emotions are a gift no matter what they are, they lead us to that next thing.” –Mary Lemmer “We're at a place where there's so much opportunity to humanize the work environment, to see people for who they really are, and understand that you bring all of you with you to work. And when we try to stuff all of that down and just show up as this person who's perfect, who’s just focused on work, who has no other life going on, we lie to ourselves. We negate the opportunity to build relationships. And we hurt our ability as teams to really work together and create better results.” –Blake Additional Resources: Connect with Mary: Instagram @maryimproves and @chooseimprove LinkedIn https://www.linkedin.com/in/melemmer/ www.marylemmer.com www.chooseimprove.com https://chooseimprove.substack.com/ Join the Calendar Rescue Challenge and take back your calendar by going to www.CalendarRescue.com Learn more about The Bridge to Fulfillment® program and how to join by going to www.thebridgetofulfillment.com For other programs and opportunities to work with Blake, go to www.BlakeSchofield.com

It can lift us up and make our lives so much better, even if it's just simply and profoundly that it allows us to live the life we want to live outside of our jobs. And it can also be the thing that destroys us.” –Kelly Mackin “We spend around a third of our lives at work. So at the end of the day, work life is life. If you have ill-being at work, you're not gonna be able to have well-being in your overall life.” –Kelly Mackin “As parents, we're so focused on our children. But if we focused more on our own well-being, we would be far better examples to our children to live their best lives.” –Blake “Whatever pattern you're seeing in your work is also a pattern that you're seeing in your personal life. And if you are putting things into a silo, you're really not seeing the lessons that life is teaching you that are really there to help move you forward.” –Blake Connect with Kelly Mackin: Website: www.motivesmet.com Linkedin: https://www.linkedin.com/in/kelly-mackin-52793110/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/kellymackin_motivesmet/?hl=en Additional Resources: For programs and opportunities to work with Blake, go to www.BlakeSchofield.com

It’s the power of your intuition, and we’re all born with it. But too often, we ignore it. Today on The Bridge to Fulfillment Ⓡ, Blake reveals why we tend to ignore this powerful compass. In this episode, you’ll learn what it feels like when your body is trying to send you a message about a person, a choice, or a direction in your life. You’ll hear why most of us tend to ignore these often physical clues in favor of someone else's opinions or advice. EP 244: The Science of Happiness with Guest Expert Stephanie Harrison
How long have you been chasing happiness? For most of us, this has been a lifelong endeavor. Society would have us believe that once a certain goal has been achieved, then our feeling of being “happy” should be sustained. But the science of happiness tells us that this definition is false and fleeting, and pursuing it only adds to our misery. If you want to know how to be happier in life, then it’s time to redefine what happiness really looks and feels like. Today on The Bridge to Fulfillment Ⓡ, Blake welcomes happiness expert Stephanie Harrison. Since receiving her master’s degree in positive psychology from the University of Pennsylvania, Harrison has devoted her life to the study of well-being. In this episode, you’ll learn to understand the disconnect between the idea of happiness we’re conditioned to believe in and what it truly means to live a happy and fulfilled life. You’ll hear why our search for this perpetual bliss is unrealistic, and why the road often feels rocky and misaligned. You’ll begin to understand the science behind happiness, the importance of a supportive community, and how you can start living a life of fulfillment and ease right now. And unfortunately, it's an ideology that is so harmful, not only to ourselves but to the ways in which we internalize that and then perpetuate it in our culture.” –Stephanie Harrison “We need to be able to distinguish between the pain of doing something that is wrong for you, and the pain of doing things that are right for you.” –Stephanie Harrison “There's this beautiful symbiotic relationship when you're in environments with people who are healthy, who support your growth, and who challenge you to see the world differently. That’s where the trauma healing process can begin.” –Blake “Life is opinion-based. And when you begin to see that there is no should, there are just opinions based on values and experiences, you realize there isn't a right or wrong. There's only what's right for me.” –Blake Additional Resources: Connect with Stephanie: IG: @stephaniehson Website: https://www.thenewhappy.com/about For programs and opportunities to work with Blake, go to www.BlakeSchofield.com

What You’ll Learn: Defining what it means to offer grace (1:04) The primary root of our suffering (1:27) Recognizing the value of pain (2:31) Finding ways to give yourself more grace (3:19) How to know what’s true and what’s not (5:10) Favorite Quotes: When I look at the causes of most of the suffering or challenges we have in our lives, it's truly because we lack grace for ourselves. We do everything possible to avoid feeling pain as if it is the worst thing to happen to us. And we don't understand that pain produces endurance. We should feel every single human emotion and just allow it to pass through us understand what it's saying, be able to own that and then let it go. And when we do that we give ourselves grace and we give others grace. The only way to know what's truth versus what's not is to speak it. To ask the questions, to be willing to share with others, and to allow them to meet us where we are. And when we do that, we begin to bring the darkness to light. We begin to see the beauty of all of our parts and of everyone else. And we begin to realize that we are far more resilient, far more safe, far more capable, far more loved than we even knew. EP 241: Fight For Your Uniqueness
Do you feel like the deepest, most authentic parts of yourself have to stay hidden in order to feel accepted? In our desire for acceptance, we often allow society to slowly condition us, while we pack away the parts of ourselves that don’t fit the mold. The more of ourselves we push away, the greater our fears, self-doubt, shame, guilt, and anxiety become. …And the more misaligned we become. Here’s the truth: When you're in an environment that makes you question who you are, it’s not because there’s something wrong with you. It’s because you’re in the wrong environment with the wrong people. The journey toward alignment requires you to fully step into who you are. When you love and own every part of you, you fight for your uniqueness. Today on The Bridge to FulfillmentⓇ podcast, Blake shares our human need to feel seen, loved, and accepted. She explains why it feels so hard to come by in the society we live in. In this episode, you’ll learn why we’re looking for unconditional love in all the wrong places. When that acceptance doesn’t first come from within, then you’re relying on external validation that will seldom fill your cup. The unconditional love you seek comes from owning your uniqueness, embracing what makes you special, and sharing your true self with the world. It’s the things that make you different that truly make you special. What You’ll Learn: Why we struggle to feel seen as who we really are (1:57) Seeking unconditional love from the wrong sources (3:14) Wanting to be seen in a world that doesn’t measure up to our expectations (7:11) How to be seen for who you are and embrace your uniqueness (9:36) Identifying misalignment in your life (11:14) Favorite Quotes: “Until you fully see and embrace who you are, and fully love the entirety of you, there's no way that other people can see you.” “Whatever frustrations we feel like are missing externally are often the things that are missing internally.” “The internal journey of discovering, embracing, and loving yourself is the key to creating loving relationships, impact, connection, and truly being seen.” “What if you are perfect exactly as you are? What if the circumstances in the past when you were hurt, let down, unseen, or judged weren't actually about you at all? Maybe it was about the fact that you were in the wrong place with the wrong people who don't appreciate you.” Additional Resources: For programs and opportunities to work with Blake, go to www.BlakeSchofield.com

EP 240: Nutrition & the Mind-Body Connection with Guest Expert Jessika Brown
Do you wonder whether your relationship with food is healthy? With busy lives in a fast-paced world, it can feel impossible to make empowered choices when it comes to the food we eat. With eating disorders and a general lack of emphasis on nutrition in our society, it’s more important than ever that we take the lead in making better choices and cultivating healthier connections with our bodies. Today on The Bridge to Fulfillment Ⓡ, Blake welcomes Jessika Brown, a registered dietitian (RD) with a master's degree in Nutrition. She’s also a Certified Specialist in Sports Dietetics and a Certified Eating Disorders Registered Dietitian-Supervisor. Her superpower is helping people live deeper in their values through health. She’s the host of the Fuel Her Awesome Podcast and owns a dietetic private practice. In this episode, you’ll learn how to understand the biofeedback your body is providing when it comes to what you eat. You’ll hear the important role of the microbiome in your overall health, the impact of your emotions on how you eat, and how you can begin to reshape your values when it comes to your relationship with food. What You’ll Learn: How healing her relationship with food led Jessica to her professional path (5:00) Connecting our emotions to when and what we choose to eat (10:56) The origin of our distrust for our bodies that leads to disordered relationships with food (15:41) Defining health on your own terms and determining your values (21:24) Advice for parents who want to help their kids choose healthier foods (31:42) Favorite Quotes: “So many of the conventional methodologies that we're taught are broken. As a society, we are seeking all these things that are ultimately bandaids and don't give us the results or the solutions we need. So, we often then think that there's something wrong with us.” -Blake “Until we learn, and understand that every emotion we feel is for us and that we create our own suffering around it, we can't create any change.” -Blake “We have to define health on our own terms, not the doctor's terms, cultures, terms, how we were raised, we have to get very clear on what healthy looks like for us.” -Jessika Brown “There's this illusion that we're supposed to never feel sad or upset and, if we do, we need to get rid of the feeling. That's one of the biggest things I've taken away from working with this population and in my own healing is that that is part of the human experience. We have to get rid of this lie that it's going to be wonderful and beautiful all the time. Half if not more of the human experience is sorrow and sadness and it’s about developing resiliency through those pieces.” -Jessika Brown Additional Resources: For more information on the Empowered Eating Method check out Jessika Brown’s FREE workshop: How to Eat Intuitively and Hit Your Goals or learn more about working with her 1:1 at jessbrownrd.com. EP 239: Navigating Loss, Grief, & Trauma with Guest Expert Rachel Schromen
Do you try to shut out grief or pack away trauma in order to function in your life and work? We’re often told that there’s an “appropriate” time and place to express emotion, whether it be the loss of a loved one, a past trauma, or even just the emotional overload of a bad day. While holding those feelings in might be the thing we’re told to do, it’s important to understand that there’s a reason why emotions exist. Not only are emotions pathways for processing our life experiences, but they are also gateways for human connection. Today on The Bridge to Fulfillment Ⓡ, Blake welcomes Rachel Schromen, an estate planning and elder law attorney and owner of Schromen Law, LLC. Since starting to practice law in 2013, Rachel has been named one of the Top 3 Best Rated Estate Law firms in St. Paul (2018 – 2023) and was voted Minnesota’s Best Estate Law Firm by readers of the Star Tribune in 2021, 2022 and 2023. Apart from her law practice, Rachel is a hospice volunteer as an end-of-life doula. In this episode, you’ll learn how Rachel first began to recognize that there was emotional work that needed tending to in her life. She shares her decades-long process of discovering why that work was so important, how it helped relieve her trauma and process grief, and ultimately, how it led her toward work that truly aligned her with her whole self and the work she was meant to do. What You’ll Learn: When Rachel first recognized that trauma was present in her life (5:02) How we tend to cope when things are out of alignment (10:33) Why showing emotion is a path to true connection (18:10) A roadmap for recovering from grief and helping those you care about (23:43) The healing power of vulnerability (32:31) Favorite Quotes: “When we allow ourselves to connect to the things that we're most passionate about in life is truly where we can make the biggest impact.” –Blake “In society, we label the anxieties and stresses and things that we have as who we are. And often that isn't true at all. It's our way of coping. It's how we learned how to adapt in a world that felt unsafe.” –Blake “ It's the human connection that really brings joy and passion to what I do. And that comes with the underlying issues of what I address for clients. I'm here to solve a legal problem. There's usually a lot of underlying emotional grief, etc, that to an extent, I can connect with that person on and support them through.” –Rachel Schromen “I should be able to emote. Should I be inconsolable and need the client to take care of me? No. But there's an appropriate way to show emotion, and it took me a long time to step into that. ” –Rachel Schromen “The people who showed up in the best way, unsurprisingly, were the ones who had experienced loss. One of my friends texted me and said, ‘Will you be home tonight, between 5 and 6? I'm going to drop off a meal, I will leave it at your door and ring the doorbell’. And I said, ‘Yes, thank you’. I still get emotional because it was one of the kindest things and I felt so loved and supported. If she had texted me and said, ‘Can I drop off a meal?’ I would have said, ‘No’. If she had texted me and said, ‘What can I do to help?’, I would have said ‘Nothing.’” –Rachel Schromen “We're all having a human experience, you know? Why do we all feel so alone in it? We don't have to.” –Rachel Schromen Additional Resources: Connect with Rachel Schromen: Website: https://schromenlaw.com/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/schromenlawllc/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/schromenlaw For programs and opportunities to work with Blake, go to www.BlakeSchofield.com

EP 238: Why You’re Struggling to Achieve More
Ever feel like the same story continues to play out in your life? There’s a reason for that. Until you learn to understand how your brain works, the outcome will always be the same. Today on The Bridge to FulfillmentⓇ, Blake explains how our brain patterns search for past experiences in order to determine future outcomes. To achieve real growth in your life and career, you have to change your patterns. In this episode, you’ll learn why our brain defaults to existing patterns and how that keeps us replaying the same stories. You’ll understand why asking questions can feel so challenging at times, and how you can overcome those fears. You’ll learn how assumptions often lead us in the wrong direction, and how you can start approaching situations with curiosity to experience real growth. What You’ll Learn: How pattern matching in the brain keeps us stuck (1:24) Why it’s important to be curious rather than make assumptions (3:17) The challenge of asking questions (4:18) What changes when you approach the world with more curiosity (5:41) Favorite Quotes: There's huge benefits to the fact that our brains do pattern match. But one of the places that it really keeps us stuck is when we try to grow or change because inadvertently, we think we know how the outcome is going to look. And then we actually create that reality. Allow yourself to understand that there might be many outcomes that could happen that you are completely unaware of. When we change, our ability to create different outcomes changes. When you can remove the need to be right, life can get infinitely better. EP 237: Unlocking Your Inner Wisdom with Guest Expert Taylor Elyse Morrison
Have you ever said ‘yes’ to something, but knew in your gut that the answer should really have been ‘no’? That’s not just a passing feeling or empty hunch. It’s your body’s way of communicating with you. Checking in with how your body responds when it’s time to make a big decision is the pathway to unlocking your inner wisdom. Today on The Bridge to FulfillmentⓇ, Blake welcomes Taylor Elyse Morrison, founder of Inner Workout. Recently named one of Fortune’s 10 Innovators Shaping the Future of Health, she has turned being bad at self-care into a career, helping others cultivate well-being and focus on personal development. Tired of aspirational 'wellness as usual', she builds businesses, content, and experiences focusing on balance over burnout. In this episode, you’ll hear about Taylor’s experience, and how she heeded the call to start listening to what her body was telling her. You’ll learn how her own Inner Workout came from the choice to opt for self-care over continued burnout. She shares her experience of helping people connect with their inner wisdom, and how you can begin to walk the path of ease toward a more aligned future. What You’ll Learn: How Taylor recognized the need to listen to her body (6:13) Identifying the 5 Dimensions of Well-Being (9:55) Determining whether our experiences result from the self or the system (15:48) Having examples of what it’s like to be outside of the corporate box (22:43) Leaning into what makes you feel more at ease (33:56) Favorite Quotes: “If you're not getting to the root of the fact that your life is not sustainable for you, treating yourself to a massage or a fancy dinner or whatever, is not going to fix things.” –Taylor Elyse Morrison “I think as a society, we don't talk about the difficult stuff. We get into this internal negative dialogue and nobody is really understanding that they're not alone in this journey.” –Blake “All of our bodies are so wise but we can struggle to access that wisdom.” –Taylor Elyse Morrison “In entrepreneurship, your business literally comes down to you, period. Any fears, doubts, and anxieties you have will be your limiting factors. So it all comes down to doing that personal inner work in order to truly break those ceilings and keep moving.” –Blake “I find that when I listen within, not just to my body, but to my inner wisdom, there's this potent truth that I often don't want to acknowledge. Because a lot of times my inner wisdom is telling me to do something that's outside of what society might say will make me successful.” –Taylor Elyse Morrison “It takes work to be able to listen, and then complete the cycle of responding in that most loving way possible, rather than listen, and then be like, Ooh, I don't want to do that. That's too difficult.” –Taylor Elyse Morrison Additional Resources: Connect with Taylor Elyse Morrison: Inner Workout Taylor Elyse Morrison Taylor’s Instagram Inner Workout’s Instagram Free Take Care assessment: https://innerworkout.co/take-care-profile For programs and opportunities to work with Blake, go to www.BlakeSchofield.com

EP 236: Expectations are the Root of All Suffering & Heartache
Do you worry that the things you want in life might not be possible for you? It’s easy to fall into the trap of imagining exactly what “success” should look like. But, when you have too much faith in the plan, it’s hard to trust the process. And when unexpected things show up for you, you might not recognize them as gifts. Today on The Bridge to Fulfillment Ⓡ, Blake explains why our expectations are actually at the root of all suffering and heartache. When we let go and leave space for the process, that’s where the magic happens. In this episode, you’ll learn why creating expectations of what we think success should look like masks the real opportunities that show up unexpectedly. You’ll hear why leaving space for things that might fall outside of your best-laid plans is actually where the alignment happens. So if what you imagined to be “success” feels hard, then remember… It’s not impossibility that’s holding you back. The real culprit is your expectations. What You’ll Learn: The problem with creating expectations (1:33) Why you have to love the process (3:12) What happens when you leave space for the unexpected (3:46) How to trust the process and find your North Star (4:30) Why success feels so hard (5:48) Favorite Quotes: “I’ve learned that when I take small actions aligned with my Northstar values and allow space for unexpected gifts, new learnings, and new doorways to open, amazing, wonderful things show up.” “If you don't love your process every day, you'll never achieve what you want to achieve.” “The reason it seems like we have to work so hard is because we're pushing and forcing. We're not able to see the opportunities because we've already decided how it has to look.” “Be receptive to what shows up. You may very well find beauty, opportunity and far more possibility than you ever thought was out there.” Additional Resources: For programs and opportunities to work with Blake, go to www.BlakeSchofield.com

EP 235: Closing the Confidence Gap with Guest Expert Kelli Thompson
Society hasn’t made it easy for women to get a seat at the table. And often when we sit down in one of those coveted chairs, it’s immediately clear that we still make up a very small percentage of the voices in the room. In order for things to change, we have to change. And it all starts with closing the confidence gap. Today on The Bridge to FulfillmentⓇ, Blake welcomes Kelli Thompson, a women’s leadership coach and speaker who helps women advance to the rooms where decisions are made. She has coached and trained hundreds of women to trust themselves, lead with more confidence, and create a career they love. She is the founder of the Clarity & Confidence Women's Leadership Program, and author of the critically acclaimed book, Closing The Confidence Gap: Boost Your Peace, Your Potential & Your Paycheck. In this episode, you’ll learn how to start shifting the limiting beliefs that have been preventing you from building the confidence you deserve. You’ll hear examples of what it feels like to ignore the cues from your body and what it feels like to listen and act on your intuition. You’ll hear some of the most common myths about women in leadership and learn how to push them to the side and move closer to the success that you deserve. What You’ll Learn: What Kelli did differently to get into the rooms where decisions were being made (8:31) Paving a new path toward success as a woman (11:54) How to create boundaries as an entrepreneur (15:58) Learning to listen to your gut and check in with your body (22:05) How to figure out what you want and what you don’t want for your life (29:35) Work myths that need busting (31:33) Favorite Quotes: I just often think back, hindsight being 2020, how much I limited myself because I couldn't see women in those senior rooms. I just had so many more limiting beliefs at that time. And I was like, you know what, this needs to change. –Kelli Thompson One of the biggest things that changed my life was learning to invest in myself. And I think that as a society, men learn how to do this more than women. –Blake What I saw was the women that were at the top of the organizations I worked at, not all of them, but by and large, the vast majority, were really unhappy, very angry, sacrificed, tremendously, and had zero work-life balance. And I remember thinking to myself at certain points, I want to move up in my career, but not like that. –Blake Be something different lead in a way that makes you feel good lead in a way that's in alignment to your values, so that the younger women in the office, look at you and say, I want that. –Kelli Thompson I am going to make trusting your gut sexy in corporate America again. –Kelli Thompson Additional Resources: Connect with Kelli Thompson: Website: www.Kelliraethompson.com Book: closingtheconfidencegap.com/book Freebie: Free Career Clarity Guide Kelliraethompson.com/careerclarityguide Social media: Instagram: @kelliraethompson Linkedin: in/kelliraethompson For programs and opportunities to work with Blake, go to www.BlakeSchofield.com

EP 234: The Messy Middle & Gold At Your Feet
When change is on the horizon, but we’re not quite sure what that means in the present moment, our first impulse is to try and find the answer. Researching, asking around, filling up your time and energy with actions. And while all of that keeps us busy through those messy middle periods of uncertainty, it doesn’t leave very much space for the unknown. When you learn to get comfortable with the unknown, then you might pause just long enough to recognize the gold beneath your feet. Today on The Bridge to Fulfillment Ⓡ, Blake shares her personal, and present, messy middle story, explaining what’s going on behind the scenes. Her investments in personal and professional development are leading to some big changes. In this episode, she’s sharing what she’s learned so that your life can benefit and you, too, can experience the transformation that you’ve been seeking. You’ll hear the big ah-ha moments that have come as a result of embracing the messy middle. She shares how opting to be patient and receive the right answers, rather than trying to force them, yields results that are naturally more in alignment with your purpose and values. If you want to start creating life on your terms, then it’s time to embrace the messy middle. You might be surprised at what you discover beneath your feet. What You’ll Learn: How The Bridge to Fulfillment Ⓡ is evolving (1:07) What Blake has learned through her personal and professional development investments (2:30) The path forward for this work and what you can get from it (5:16) Finding joy in the “messy middle” (6:55) Keeping an open loop and creating space when you face uncertainty (9:58) Favorite Quotes: If you've listened long enough, you've heard the same things that my clients have been telling me for years: ‘I came here because I thought you were going to change my career and instead you changed my life.’ Ultimately, what I've experienced and gone through in my life, the lessons I've learned, and the path I've been able to walk…I wish everyone had the level of peace, freedom, joy, confidence, space, and ability to be present in their life in the way that it’s unlocked for me. Our brains are wired to want a solution. So anytime we're in a circumstance where we don't know the answer, we're going to move as quickly as possible to research and find the answer. Whether that's actually the best answer for us or not. You cannot receive if your hands are full. Additional Resources: For programs and opportunities to work with Blake, go to www.BlakeSchofield.com

EP 233: Rebuilding Confidence Through Discovering Herself (Melissa’s Story)
Has anyone ever made you feel small, powerless, or not good enough? Whether it’s a boss, co-worker, friend, or family member, repeated behaviors that make you question yourself will gradually chip away at your confidence. But when you have self-confidence, you’re in control of how you feel and what you believe about yourself. Today on The Bridge to FulfillmentⓇ, Blake welcomes Melissa to share her story. Before going through the program, she felt stuck in a job that was wearing away at her self-confidence, sending her on a downward spiral. Today, she has rebuilt her life from the ground up by uprooting false beliefs and standing in confidence with the knowledge of her true value and potential. By recognizing that the problem was misalignment, Melissa was able to align with her values and experience rapid personal growth. You’ll learn how she began to recognize the signs of misalignment and the breakthrough that helped her finally gain the confidence she had been missing. You’ll hear how her confidence reboot has helped boost her career, shake away her old beliefs, and propel her toward a life of alignment. If you think it’s time for a mindset shift, then Melissa’s story is just the inspiration you need. What You’ll Learn: Recognizing the signs of misalignment (2:16) The “aha” moments that led Melissa to coaching (7:44) How the process shifted her belief systems (13:54) Why your career and your life are interconnected (20:48) The ripple effect of self-confidence in your life (31:21) Favorite Quotes: Knowing the knowledge I have now, I was just in a situation where I was completely out of alignment. I was worn out, I was frustrated, I was in a situation where my supervisors were not supporting my work style. –Melissa I just kept thinking, ‘Okay, if I can just get this done, I will get better’. And you just keep doing that, striving, and it never ends. So I was just at a point, I was like, ‘Okay, I need a coach’. –Melissa When we stay on a path that we're not fulfilled in and it's not in alignment with us, the longer we stay there trying to suck it up, make it work, or believe that we should be grateful for what we have, the more and more our confidence gets stripped away. The more and more we feel trapped. It's so easy to believe that something's wrong with us or we're broken or we're failing instead of being able to see that it's just not a match. –Blake If you don't stand up for yourself, now, you won't. –Melissa Additional Resources: For programs and opportunities to work with Blake, go to www.BlakeSchofield.com

EP 232: Break Down the Walls & Rise Up
Do you see people living the kind of life you’d like for yourself, and think, “I could never do that”? The truth is that until you’re able to change your mindset….you’re right. As you go through life, you accumulate certain beliefs. Many of those “beliefs” are the very reasons you think you’re a victim of your circumstances. You already have everything you need to succeed. It’s the walls you’ve built up around yourself and the beliefs that you hold on to that are keeping you stuck. You’ve got to open your mind and begin to question why you put them there. Today on The Bridge to FulfillmentⓇ, Blake explains why a lifetime of belief buildup could be holding you back. If you want to find your true purpose, you’ve got to “clear the windshield.” In this episode, you’ll learn how to step back and start to really look at what you believe to be true in your life. You’ll objectively question whether or not these things are true, and begin to “clear the windshield” of false beliefs that have been holding you back from reaching your potential. You’ll learn to embrace the important stage of surrender, the true first step to experiencing the breakthrough you need in your life. What You’ll Learn: The only way to truly find your purpose (2:20) Why you’re not a victim of your circumstances (3:16) What really precedes every breakthrough (4:10) The process of surrender (6:26) Favorite Quotes: In order to achieve your highest purpose, you’ve got to start with the mind. You’ve got to start breaking down the walls of the things that you believe to be true. As a result of not being able to see clearly, we actually feel and think that we are victims of the circumstances in our lives It isn't the suffering that produces the growth or change or positive momentum in our lives. It's what precedes that breakthrough. Before that breakthrough is surrender. It's never the circumstances that are keeping us from what we want. It's the barriers in our mind. EP 231: Influence is Your Superpower with Guest Expert Zoe Chance
Do you wish that your perspective, opinion, and your voice carried more power? The feeling that your words lack influence is common among women, and the long-term effects of this feeling of powerlessness can greatly influence your path in life. Digging deeper into where this feeling comes from is an important step toward harnessing your ability to speak up and gain greater control over your life. You can reclaim your voice and turn it into your superpower! Today on The Bridge to FulfillmentⓇ, Blake Schofield welcomes Zoe Chance. She’s a writer, teacher, researcher, and climate philanthropist. She has an MBA from USC, a doctorate from Harvard, and teaches the most popular course at Yale School of Management. Her bestselling book is called Influence Is Your Superpower. In this episode, you’ll understand the deeper roots of confidence and hear the real reason why you might be lacking the influence you wish you had. You’ll learn a mindset trick to help you get more comfortable with rejection, paving the way toward rebuilding confidence and learning resilience. You’ll also learn how to start building your influence superpower. What You’ll Learn: Recognizing the real reasons why you might lack influence (4:43) Why shyness is really a reaction to trauma (9:31) Proof that you’re better liked than you think you are (18:38) The keys to building your capacity for influence (24:54) Why women bear the cultural burden of saying “yes” (28:58) Favorite Quotes: I literally believed when I was a child that my voice was the same frequency as the ambient sounds of the universe, and that's why people talked over me when I spoke. –Zoe Chance Perfectionism and shyness are actually responses to trauma. They’re responses to things that happen in our childhood that lead us to believe it's unsafe to speak or it's unsafe to make mistakes. –Blake To truly come into your greatest potential value and purpose, you have to strip away the things that you're conditioned into and the belief systems that formed the trauma. And when you do that, you can come back to the wholeness of who you always were. –Blake Being able to speak and be listened to is something that sounds so small, and it's simple, but it's much more profoundly impactful than a lot of people recognize. –Zoe Chance The first person who comes to our mind when we need something is much more likely to be a woman than a man… so there's all this male generosity that is potentially being wasted. And there's all this female burnout that is unnecessary. –Zoe Chance Additional Resources: Connect with Zoe Chance: www.zoechance.com https://www.linkedin.com/in/zoebchance https://twitter.com/zoebchance Rather than hoping the grass will be greener, identify what the RIGHT next step is. EP 230: Where Are You Putting Your Energy?
Do you often feel depleted, but you’re not sure where that lack of energy is coming from? If you’re feeling drained on a daily basis, then it’s time to look at where and how your energy currency is being spent. Today on The Bridge to FulfillmentⓇ, Blake explores the concept of energy exchange. If you’re feeling a general lack of energy in your day-to-day, then it’s likely that you’re giving away more energy than you’re receiving. In this episode, you’ll learn how the currency of energy gets spent and how to recognize where it’s being depleted in your life. You’ll learn how to shift your perspective and start to think about energy as a valuable, finite currency that should be working both ways. You’ll hear what a consistent lack of energy feels like, and identify ways to replenish your energy currency through personal relationships, more fulfilling work, and seeking out rest when you need it. What You’ll Learn: Understanding the 5 types of currency (1:13) How to think about your energy (2:30) Why you might be feeling a lack of energy in your life (4:15) What a low-energy life feels like (5:49) An energy challenge for this week (7:05) Favorite Quotes: Energy is the hidden thing that we aren't paying attention to. Start to look at everything that you're doing on a daily basis, every relationship that you have, and ask yourself ‘Do I feel more energized or do I feel less energized?’” If you have time, but you have no energy, you will accomplish very little. EP 229: Becoming the Creator of My Future (Faya’s story)

Not only does this negatively affect our sense of power and control, but it can keep us stuck in patterns that don’t lead to the future we want. The truth is that YOU are in control and you can become the creator of your own life. Today on The Bridge to Fulfillment Ⓡ, Blake welcomes Faya to the show to share her story. After leaving the workforce for a few years to start a family, she returned with diminished confidence that was preventing her from seeing her worth. But, the moment she decided to invest in herself, everything changed. In this episode, you’ll learn to recognize the patterns that are shaping your belief system, and why those very thoughts are holding you back. You’ll hear how uncovering her secret sauce transferrable skills ™ helped Faya retake control and finally find alignment in her life and career. If you’re ready to become the hero of your own story, creating the future you want starts with investing in yourself. What You’ll Learn: Why Faya ultimately made the choice to invest in herself (4:08) Breaking away from patterns that follow us (6:50) Lessons from the program that are helping her shape her future (10:11), (13:33) Becoming the hero of her own story (19:17) The shift after discovering her secret sauce transferable skills ™ (20:21) Favorite Quotes: “I knew that in order to feel more fulfilled and create a better future I needed some help with my confidence. And that's when I made the decision to invest in me.” Faya “One of the biggest lessons I learned in my life and career was a shift from believing that life was happening to me to actually understanding that I can and do have the power to create my future.” Blake “I know that asking for help is not a sign of weakness.” Faya “Most of the struggles we have in our lives are due to misalignment. We’re doing things that actually aren't aligned with who we are authentically as a person.” Blake Additional Resources: Rather than hoping the grass will be greener, identify what the RIGHT next step is. EP 228: Creating Passion and Purpose in Your Life
How long have you been feeling stuck in your life or career? We’ve all heard that “change is hard”. It can certainly feel that way and our minds are capable of inventing countless obstacles that keep us from budging. But the truth is that you’ve seen other people create change and transform their lives. So that begs the question…what’s really holding you back? Today on The Bridge to FulfillmentⓇ, Blake challenges you to ask yourself the big question: What must I believe in order to keep doing this day after day? In this episode, you’ll learn that your beliefs are the real culprit, and why shifting them is the first step toward transformation. You’ll discover where these limiting beliefs come from, and learn how you can start to shift those thoughts. You’ll hear how to stop blaming timing and circumstances and finally start to move in the direction of your true passion and purpose in life. The growth and transformation you seek starts and ends with you. What You’ll Learn: The difference between people who stay stuck and those who pursue change (2:37) Why we work so hard but miss finding our purpose (4:34) Lessons from ascending into alignment (5:52) Recognizing the most important investment in your life (7:16) Considering how your beliefs might be shaping your inaction (10:11) Favorite Quotes: When we get to places in our lives and our careers where we're unfulfilled, one of the biggest mistakes is believing that we're stuck and that making a change and transforming into something else is risky, scary, or has to be hard. There will never be a perfect time or perfect circumstance to create the change that you want. Moving from a place of circumstances driving your life into a place of becoming the creator of your life means understanding that it all starts and stops with you. The people you see who've achieved things you want to achieve, they're not special. They're not different from you. What they have achieved is also possible for you. EP 227: The Body-Mind Connection with Guest Expert Dr. Mel Krug
Do you frequently wake up with a kink in your neck? Do you suffer from persistent headaches or bothersome back pain that you just can’t seem to shake? Health issues can be debilitating, but ultimately, these aches and pains are your body’s way of sending you a message. And if you take the hint and answer the call, then not only will you eventually find relief, but the root cause might surprise you. Today on The Bridge to FulfillmentⓇ, Blake welcomes Dr. Mel Krug to the show. In 2014, Dr. Mel’s life was radically transformed when she discovered the powerful healing benefits of Network Spinal Chiropractic Care. Today, she is the founder of Inspire Life Chiropractic Center where she helps clients overcome chronic health challenges around anxiety, sleep, mental health, trauma, digestive issues, and so much more. As a holistic guide, coach, and mentor, she helps clients successfully grow their entrepreneurial skills and elevate their consciousness. In this episode, you’ll learn why tapping into your nervous system is the most effective path to healing. You’ll hear examples of how addressing the root cause of physical trauma can ultimately free you from pain, even after decades of suffering. You’ll learn how to change the frequency of your nervous system to start telling a different story about your life and your physical well-being. It is possible to unburden yourself from the physical and emotional trauma that you’ve been harboring and live a fuller, more joyful, and pain-free life. What You’ll Learn: Blake’s journey toward a more holistic approach to health (6:06) The life experiences that led Dr. Mel to find her calling (14:59) Why compartmentalizing our health issues doesn’t address the root problem (24:56) How to know if you’re holding on to trauma (31:16) Re-tuning the frequency of your nervous system (40:00) Favorite Quotes: “The power of chiropractic is helping people return back home to what's always been there - it’s the body's ability to heal.” –Dr. Mel Krug “Unless we get to the underlying wound and the trauma that we've experienced what There, it's mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual. Unless we address that in your neurology, we're only going to be scratching the surface of health.” –Dr. Mel Krug “When you have a mind problem, you go to a psychiatrist, if you have a foot problem, you go to a podiatrist, if you have a heart problem, you go to a cardiologist, right? When in reality, what's the common denominator? It's your body and your central nervous system. And that's why I like to say body, mind or mind-body, because it's not separate. It's one unit.” –Dr. Mel Krug “If you're unaware of how you feel, and you don't know how you feel in your body, that means that you've had trauma, and you've literally disassociated.” –Blake Additional Resources: Connect with Dr. Mel Krug: IG and FB: @dr.melkrug, @inspirelifechirocenter, @projectlioness Websites: Drmelkrug.com Inspirelifechirocenter.com academy.inspirecomn.com FREEBIES: Mental Emotional Alignment Blueprint: https://academy.inspirecomn.com/me-alignment-blueprint Trauma & The Nervous System Masterclass: https://drmelkrug.com/masterclass-free/ Rather than hoping the grass will be greener, identify what the RIGHT next step is. EP 226: Stop Focusing on HOW to Achieve Your Goals
Do you spend a lot of time focusing on how you’ll achieve your goals? This is the most common trap people fall into when setting goals, but the truth is that it rarely produces results. There is a better way to achieve your goals that feels a lot more fluid and a lot less stressful. Today on The Bridge to FulfillmentⓇ, Blake explains why this pre-planning so often backfires. In fact, it could actually be limiting your possibilities and preventing you from achieving your goals. In this episode, you’ll learn a better way to achieve your goals that focuses less on having a step-by-step plan and more on following in the direction of your North Star. You’ll hear about a different approach to goal-setting that helps you take the steps you need while gathering valuable information for the journey ahead. When you stop focusing on the how, you actually open up your options and expand the possibilities. What You’ll Learn: When having a plan actually works against you (1:40) What successful people have figured out (3:33) A new approach to achieving your goals (5:36) Why planning ahead isn’t always helpful (6:40) How this method reduces stress and opens up more possibilities (8:15) Favorite Quotes: This obsession we have about figuring out how something needs to happen is what keeps us stuck. When we approach every new circumstance with the perspective of having to know exactly what it should look like, then we drastically narrow the amount of choices we have because those choices can only fit in what we know. It's nearly impossible to create something different if you're only using the knowledge you have today. When you remove having to know the how, you allow yourself to be open to an infinite number of possibilities. Blake The vista just opened up so much wider than I had ever anticipated into what options there were, and it just expanded way beyond what I ever would have imagined myself to be looking at. It was remarkable. –Kimberly I made the critical decision to trust the program because there were so many success stories, and I knew what I was doing wasn't working. –Kimberly You take it to a much, much deeper level. And that's where the change happens. That's how it actually starts working. –Kimberly When you invest in yourself and you do this work, you're not just investing in yourself. You're investing in your husband and your kids and your co-workers and everyone that you interact with. –Blake Additional Resources: Rather than hoping the grass will be greener, identify what the RIGHT next step is. EP 224: The 4 Keys to Extraordinary Results – Depth, Passion, Connection & Distinction
In today’s society, statistics show that more than 60% of people are unhappy in their careers. People are spending over a third of their lives in environments that leave them feeling depleted, overwhelmed, and burned out. If you fall into this category, then it’s likely that you feel a disconnect between your work and the way you live your life. If you’re not leading with intention, you won’t find alignment. Today on The Bridge to FulfillmentⓇ, Blake explains why true alignment can only come when you understand what your passions are, and how to adapt that to your unique lens on life. Career coaching allows you to unlock your fulfillment frameworkⓇ and discover your secret sauce transferable skills™, allowing you to dig deeper into what type of work can really enrich your life and bring you happiness. In this episode, you’ll learn how to create the life you want by finding the intersection between who you truly are and your passions. You’ll understand why going deeper is a necessary process in order to discover your unique skills and understand what’s holding you back. If you’re ready to live a happier life and enjoy a career that’s more aligned with who you truly are, then this episode is for you. What You’ll Learn: Why going deeper is the key to understanding (3:14) The truth about following your passion (4:08) The thread that connects successful, happy people (5:45) Why most job seekers don’t end up finding the right job (11:00) The only path to true happiness (13:27) Favorite Quotes: We're trying to solve problems with a bunch of band-aids, rarely getting to the root cause that will truly be able to create the change that we want in our lives. Being able to go deeper into something and have a passion, a desire, and a quest to learn is truly the key to happiness in every single avenue of your life in your career. Passion is truly a key piece to understanding the right path and alignment for you. When we don't understand who we truly are, and we don't embrace and appreciate it, we can't live a life that allows us to really be fulfilled. EP 223: The Pink Tax: Empowering Women to Build Wealth with Guest Expert Janine Rogan
Have you ever felt too afraid or uncomfortable to ask for a raise? As women, we’ve been brought up in a work culture built by men, and the march toward equality has been slow and sometimes not so steady. In order to gain equality and advocate for equal pay in a way that brings all women up, we have to first identify what it is that’s been holding us back. We have to begin to unpack the financial stories and money traumas that we might still be carrying into our corporate lives in order to feel comfortable with financial self-advocacy. Today on The Bridge to Fulfillment Ⓡ, Blake welcomes Janine Rogan, founder & CEO of the Wealth Building Academy Inc. She’s an award-winning CPA whose mission is to educate and empower women, helping them to confidently and profitably grow their wealth through financial feminism. She shares her wisdom globally as a keynote speaker and has been featured on TEDx. Her debut book, The Pink Tax, examines gender-based price discrimination. In this episode, you’ll learn why women haven’t historically received the same type of mentoring as men, and how this affects our career and salary trajectories. You’ll learn what to do if you’re feeling undervalued in your workplace, and why it’s so important to provide hard data when advocating for a raise. Janine explains the “pink tax”, the subject of her new book, sharing how marketers get away with charging women more than men for everyday items. You’ll also hear why women today have far more power than we believe we do when it comes to shaping the workplaces of the future. What You’ll Learn: The uncomfortable truth that launched her mission to help women (5:04) What to do if you feel undervalued or underpaid (9:22) How money trauma can follow us into our adult lives (14:25) Why debt isn’t always a bad thing and how to leverage it (20:31) The real cost of unpaid care work (32:02) Favorite Quotes: Women aren't taught how to approach these things logically with data and information. I used to believe that my work would just speak for itself, instead of understanding that you have to be your own advocate. Blake HR’s job is to get the best person as cheaply as possible. So, if you are willing to take the lowest amount, if you are the employee who always takes on more work, who will say yes to everything, you create the perception that you'll just do it. The more we are empowered with the right skills and knowledge and the more we stand up for our value, the more that won't happen anymore. Blake As a society, we mentor men and women differently, and we tend to mentor women to focus on soft skills. And in a lot of cases, those skills aren't promotable, or those skills aren't hitting the billable hours or the revenue targets. Janine Rogan We can erase the notion that debt is either good or bad. When we look at people who are extremely successful, they don't call it debt, they call it leverage. Janine Rogan When we look systemically at women's involvement in their finances and their ability to borrow, I think there's also a conversation there around the high cost of being a woman. EP 222: Why Researching & Learning More Isn't the Answer
Do you ever feel like you’re stuck in an endless loop of learning, but all of that knowledge rarely results in action? As humans, we're hardwired to always want more. We’re consuming knowledge and information at a near-constant pace, but the truth is that most of it is wasted time and energy. And, it actually leaves us feeling more stuck. Too much learning, reading, and consuming of information creates what’s called cognitive dissonance. And just as the 80/20 principle states, 20% of the things we do get 80% of the results. Consuming all of this knowledge creates too large of a gap between what we know and what we can actually take action on. This gap inevitably leads to stress and overwhelm. Today on The Bridge to Fulfillment Ⓡ, Blake shares her story of experiencing cognitive dissonance. When she wasn’t seeing the types of changes or growth that she expected from all of the information she was consuming, she realized that in order for real growth to take place, she needed to slow down and embrace the Four Levels of Learning. In this episode, you’ll learn the science behind the dopamine high that many high achievers experience when learning and consuming information. You’ll understand why this is actually a false sense of accomplishment, and why it rarely leads to change. You’ll explore the Four Levels of Learning and hear how you can use this concept for deeper learning that actually leads to the growth you’ve been seeking. What You’ll Learn: How a dopamine high works (1:37) Understanding what really makes you feel accomplished (3:42) The concept of cognitive dissonance (4:39) How to apply the Four Levels of Learning (7:00) Why learning too much actually holds us back (11:21) Favorite Quotes: Beginning to see the patterns that we have, looking at how we're learning, and how we're taking action differently can create huge positive momentum and shifts in our lives. Cognitive dissonance happens when we consume and consume and consume a lot of information, but then we don't actually apply it or do anything with it. What happens is we actually start to build up this level of stress and anxiety. I kept believing I just needed to learn more, when in fact, that was never true. I needed to learn less. And I needed to learn how to apply it much more deeply. When I did that, unbelievable exponential growth happened in my life. As humans to be biased for more. But the reality is we don't need more, we need the things that are going to get us closer to what we want in life. EP 221: Why Working with a Resume Writer & Recruiter Didn’t Solve the Issue (Christine’s Story)
Many women think that in order to find more fulfilling work, you have to completely change industries. You might reach out to a recruiter or a resume writer to help redirect you toward something that will make you happier. But what if the change you’re seeking is something that needs to happen on the inside, first? Today on The Bridge to Fulfillment Ⓡ, Blake welcomes Christine to share her story. After trying to work with several different coaches, peers, and resume writers without success, she realized that she needed a more holistic approach. She wanted someone to help her define her own version of success so she could stop living by someone else’s. In this episode, you’ll learn how Christine went from humbly accepting what was offered to her to confidently asking for what she wants. You’ll hear how she started to recognize the value of authenticity in the workplace and vulnerability in her emotional life, and how compartmentalizing her life was actually sacrificing her happiness. She’s learned what her ideal work environment looks like, and that’s led to a huge mindset shift that is resulting in significant life changes for the better. If you’re searching for something deeper than the usual career coaching program, then Christine’s story will inspire you to take action, take back control, and take the right next step in your career™. What You’ll Learn: Why the usual career resources didn’t solve her problems (4:00) The biggest self-discovery she had during the program (8:02) How she began to identify the work environment she really wanted to find (14:10) Overcoming the fear and valuing the message of discomfort (21:41) Why investing in herself through the program helped her on a deeper level (28:57) Favorite Quotes: The difference with this program was digging to the deeper core of what was really driving me, what made me happy, my values, and what I enjoy. -Christine The biggest part was really the peer interaction with other professionals and not feeling alone in the journey. - Christine Asking for help isn't a weakness, it is actually a strength in you to see that you need support. And support is great because when you get it, it lifts you. - Christine When women come on this journey, they often have a very black-and-white perspective about their options. And that’s really why we do this work. It's why we uncover every rock. It's why we really go deeper to understand the root cause of why you’re unfulfilled. -Blake Additional Resources: Rather than hoping the grass will be greener, identify what the RIGHT next step is. EP 220: Creating Boundaries: Protect Your Health & Time
Do you feel like your boundaries are constantly being pushed? Do you find yourself feeling guilty & responsible when others struggle? Knowing how to create boundaries, and making sure they are respected, is one of the most difficult tasks many women face. When our boundaries don’t hold, it creates a pattern that ultimately takes a toll on your mental and physical health. Today on The Bridge to Fulfillment Ⓡ, Blake shares the importance of creating boundaries in your professional and personal life. She shares the story of one client who felt like she failed to advocate strongly enough for her team, but in the end, realized that it was really about a misalignment of values. This realization led to a breakthrough that ultimately pointed her toward her unique set of secret sauce transferable skills™. In this episode, you’ll learn why the issue of boundaries at work and at home is so common among heart-centered women. You’ll hear what broken boundaries feel like in the moment, and the role that fear plays in how we respond. You’ll also gain some great advice about how to change your perspective about people in your life who aren’t respecting your boundaries. What You’ll Learn: Why heart-centered women so often experience boundary issues (2:02) Recognizing misalignment when things don’t go your way (5:11) The role of fear in our feelings of failure (6:02) What broken boundaries look and feel like (8:34) Boundary advice for when you feel like you’re being taken advantage of (10:21) Favorite Quotes: Heart-centered leaders, parents, and friends often feel that when we start taking on responsibility or accountability for things that we aren't responsible or accountable for, we think we need more boundaries. But instead, we should be asking why we feel responsible for others. If you value certain things and you're frustrated because your leadership doesn't value those same things, understand that all you can do is show up and share what you know. But also, begin to recognize if this is a sign of misalignment. Anytime we go through big changes, it presents opportunities for others to do the same. When we are taking responsibility for other people, what we're actually doing is stealing their opportunity for their own lesson. EP 219: INSIDER SCOOP: Master LinkedIn & Network Like a Pro with Guest Expert Callie Schweitzer
LinkedIn can be one of the most powerful ways to leverage your skills and further your career…IF you know how to use it the right way. Not knowing how to truly communicate and engage with the right people on LinkedIn could be holding you back. The key to using this social media platform is really understanding how it works. Today on The Bridge to Fulfillment Ⓡ, Blake welcomes Callie Schweitzer. She serves as the Head of Community Programs at LinkedIn and has built an impressive career in media and networking. Working her way up after starting with the networking platform in 2020, she also founded The Callie Co., an advisory firm that has worked with FORTUNE 500 brands and top executives. Her resume includes roles with Arianna Huffington’s Thrive Global, Vox Media and Talking Points Memo. Twice included on Forbes’ 30 Under 30 Media list, she’s been referred to as “the future of media” by Business Insider and was selected as one of TIME’s 140 Best Twitter Feeds in the World. She serves on the advisory boards of GenHERation, The Startup Girl Foundation, WOMAZE, the USC Annenberg Center on Communication Leadership & Policy, and the DeepTrust Alliance. In this episode, you’ll learn the best practices for using LinkedIn to your benefit and how to network like a pro. You’ll get a behind-the-scenes look at how those who succeed in networking, career growth, and thought leadership are using this valuable tool. You’ll learn how to provide real value to your followers, create meaningful connections, and how to embrace the “we before me” mentality. What You’ll Learn: Defining what ‘having it all’ means to you (9:07) How knowledge exchange really works (12:24) Rule number 1 for using LinkedIn successfully (15:03) How to find the content you want to follow (21:50) LinkedIn tips for job seekers (23:58) An important rule about boundaries (34:30) Favorite Quotes: I really became a human doing, not a human being. I was really so trying to optimize for overcoming this fear I had of not being enough. Callie Schweitzer To me, a personal brand is what people say about you when you're not in the room. Callie Schweitzer I had all of my worth wrapped up in my job. I gave everything to it. I went through so many cycles of burnout. But I stayed the course out of fear and how much money I was making. I had lack of clarity, not knowing what was the right path for me. This is why I'm so passionate about helping women understand there's a better way. Blake I've been able to have it all, but it's all on my terms and my way. And that may not be ‘all’ for somebody else. And that doesn't matter because I get the things that I value and at the end of the day, that eventually creates the life that you want. EP 217: Progress Doesn’t Need Perfect Circumstances (Danielle’s Story)
Today on The Bridge to Fulfillment Ⓡ, Blake welcomes Danielle to share her powerful story of perseverance. Just after joining the program, she was given some devastating news about her health that made her think about taking a step back. But after deciding to move forward and give it her all, she found an instant support network while also gaining clarity about her path forward. In this episode, you’ll hear how Danielle didn’t let less-than-perfect circumstances stop her from creating the change she wanted in her life. You’ll hear what motivated her to push through the program, despite the health and life circumstances she was experiencing. She shares how the instant support network helped her not only gain career clarity, but also how it made her a better, more efficient time manager. You’ll hear the biggest mindset shift from the program that instilled in her the confidence and self-recognition that she deserved, and how it continues to inspire her today. What You’ll Learn: What wasn’t working in Danielle’s life before she joined the program (4:00) Why things can feel different on the inside than they appear on the outside (7:24) What happened when she got thrown a health curveball just before starting (9:56) Why your life circumstances don’t need to be perfect in order to create change (13:57) What Danielle learned about herself from the program (17:14) Favorite Quotes: It's very easy for us to go into a guilt and shame spiral. We ‘should’ be happy, we ‘should’ be grateful. But that's the lie because we can be grateful and then we can also want more. -Blake If I'm getting a new lease on life, what do I want to do? Am I creating the life I want, spending time with the people I care about, and growing and becoming the person I want to be? That was my takeaway from the program. -Danielle We can get into a black-and-white perspective about needing it to be the perfect time or having the perfect circumstances, or needing to do everything perfectly to be successful. And that's the lie. -Blake I feel like we're all driven to do what we need to do. But sometimes you just need that extra push of accountability to stay on the path. And I think the duration of the program really helps with that because you finally have built the habits, and then you're accountable for them every week. -Danielle I have figured my way out of every situation. So regardless of what happens, the good and the bad, I'll figure it out. And I think that has been the biggest mindset shift from the program.-Danielle Additional Resources: Rather than hoping the grass will be greener, identify what the RIGHT next step is.
