Last week the International Court of Justice ruled that Israel is committing genocide and, in essence, ordered them to stop all genocidal actions, genocidal speech, and to open up ports for humanitarian aid. In the center of Khan Younis, in Southern Gaza, a United Nations training center that was housing thousands of Palestinian refugees was fired upon indiscriminately by Israeli tanks. The genocide of Palestinians from the hands and bombs of Israel and the United States is still fully in motion. Which makes me taking this episode to talk about myself frustrating, but for my own record, I must document what went down. I was the #1 trending topic in the United States after people first lied and said I took sole credit for freeing the American hostage, Natalie Raanan. That never happened. It's a complete fabrication. Quite the opposite, I said I was one of dozens of people that helped behind the scenes. Then the lie pivoted from me saying I took sole credit to people saying I never helped at all and made the whole thing up. You've heard me say this before, but it's VERY hard to know a moment in history when you are living in it. Well, we continue to live in a very peculiar and disturbing time in American history - in the shadows of thousands of people trying to overthrow the American government, Republicans have now cannibalized one of their own, and voted out their own Speaker of the House, Kevin McCarthy. That has never happened before. And for the next week, or longer, the United States Congress won't even have a Speaker of the House because Republicans, who control the House, don't even have enough votes to select a replacement. Last night I learned something truly preposterous. Tennessee State University, which is one of the most important Black colleges in America, is owed $2.1 BILLION by the state and federal government after a federal research project determined they, and other Black colleges, were systemically underfunded for years. This is the literal definition of systemic racism. Just last month, Philadelphia Police Officer Mark Dial brutally shot and killed a young man who was sitting in his parked car. And to cover it all up, the cops lied and said that the victim, 27 year old Eddie Irizarry, got out of his car and lunged at police with a knife - giving the city, and the nation the impression that the shooting was justified and in self-defense. Except police made the entire story up. And it's all on film. In fact, Irizarry never even got out of his car. Never opened his door. Never rolled his window down. It was all a lie. Police, within 7 seconds of seeing the man, shot and killed him through his car window, then, according to hospital officials, abused his body afterwards. Thankfully, Philadelphia DA Larry Krasner charged the cop with murder, in what every expert called a clear open and shut case. But yesterday, a judge did something that I've never seen in my life. They just canceled the entire case and said that no evidence existed for the charges.WTF? Like what are we even talking about here. The evidence is on video. Let me unpack and explain it. And by spending tens of millions of dollars, and in some cases hundreds of millions of dollars, to care for the migrants, while mistreating and abusing and cutting funds to basic services to your own citizens, it's sparking a deep anger that I am seeing almost daily from coast to coast. Chicago, which has been tearing down the tens of its own homeless people, just announced that they are spending $29 million to build a tent city for migrants. Enough is enough. Outside of Dallas, the Barbers Hill School District has suspended a brilliant young man named Darry George, for week after week, because they say his beautiful natural hair style violates school rules. The wild thing is... it doesn't. And not only that, Texas passed a law called the CROWN Act, which prohibits discrimination against African Americans with natural hairstyles.
