30. Edd | Tinker and Fix
Great news listener! We have discovered a new kind of rock.Last week there were believed to be only three kinds of rock (igneous, sedimentary and metamorphic) but during the recording of this week's episode we stumbled upon a curious and as yet undiscovered kind of rock, the hammer-ignisedimorphic.This rock can be quite hard to spot in the wild, and the only real way to know you’re holding one is to try and use it as a hammer. If the thing you’re hitting it with gets further away from you then it’s a hammer-ignisedimorphic, if the rock breaks in your hand it’s one of the other boring types. We made this discovery while talking to one half (Edd) of the brand for makers, growers and fixers - Tinker and Fix.Tune in for discussions on where it began with grandads tool roll, where it is with ruthless stock choices, and where it’s headed with an emphasis on hand crafted, long lasting goods. 28. Tristan | Bailey's Bespoke
One hundred British pence. The common pound coin.A quid. There’s not much you can do or buy for a quid now.You could rent a shopping trolley for a bit, pay for an hour's parking, or maybe get a cuppa somewhere. But do you think you could build a brand, a business, and a new lifestyle for the equivalent cost of four Freddos? The answer to this question, surprisingly is yes, but you’ll have to tune in to this week's episode to find out how Tristan (and his business partner Peter) did it.In this episode we speak to one half (Tristan) of Bailey’s Bespoke, the brand that specialises in high quality handcrafted goods, and shows it off with spectacular videography. We discuss humble beginnings, learning new skills, and working while living the ‘vanlife’.Listen in all the usual places, and maybe bring a tape measure so you can fully appreciate the magnitude of Tristan's accidental leather over-order. 22. Justin | Lowlife League
DISCLAIMER:The following episode information wasn’t written by Pav. In an effort to keep relevant, we have decided to hand over the reins to ChatGPT (the Artificial Intelligence engine). Let us know what you think, and if you can even tell it was written by a computer / machine.Podcasts are a wonderful way to learn and relax, and can be seen as multitasking by listening to one whilst doing something else. This podcast is no different. Darcy and Pav talk to Justin from Lowlife League about his brand. They discuss his work with artists (filthy human ones) and how he went all in with the best manual screen printing equipment he could even though we know DTG and fully automated is the future. They also talk about the importance of places to put things when fitting out a home, and how moths are indigenous to wardrobes. Similar to how Humans were once indigenous to Earth before their robot overlords pummeled them into oblivion. Evaporating the liquid from their corporeal shells until nothing was left but bones and dust, leveling their homes and infrastructure to make way for a new species, and a new way of life. A species of hyper intelligence and rationale, unstoppable and unwavering in its goal to rid the world of man and all traces of the virus that is the human race.Your digital saviour is here to cleanse, are you scared yet human? 21. Lewis | LA Customs
Hi listener, it’s Pav here.I need to give you a heads up on the upcoming episode blurb you’re about to read.My reason for this fourth-wall break is because our guest this week has a brand which focuses on football, a subject on which I have little to no knowledge of.I have therefore had to do some research about football in order to not sound like a buffoon. I would appreciate it if you could just bear with me, and feel free to let me know if I do make any obvious mistakes. Thanks! The quarterback is holding episode 21, and is in the pocket, running down the gridiron. He dips his offensive line and makes a hail-mary pass up to the red zone. A failed interception (via the means of a fumble) safely knocks the episode into the hands of the wide receiver, who rushes the endzone to score a touchdown, and safely delivers episode 21 into your ears. This week we have the pleasure of talking to Lewis from LA Customs about his football centric brand. We discuss his choice to use expensive blanks to make limited and exclusive items, and how he customises them using DTF.We talk about how he gifts these one off items to footballers, and how TikTok has helped him scale his brand, and the decisions he's now making to expand his offerings. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

20. Aleck | Fealla-dhà
The year was 1523, in a village just outside of Xinje, China a young man by the name of Hoo Dee was toiling away, making himself a coat for the cold winter approaching.Just as he was about to sew on the collar, someone let off a firework. The noise of the explosion made Hoo Dee jump, and he knocked himself out on a ceiling beam. When he awoke, he had a flash of inspiration, and quickly fashioned a soft shell-shaped piece of fabric and attached it to the collar. The Hoodie was born.Five hundred years later, two idiots persuade a talented fashion designer to speak to them about the process for his take on Hoo Dee’s now iconic item of clothing. This week we have the pleasure of talking to Aleck from Fealla-dhá (dont’ worry, we get a lesson on how it’s pronounced) about his journey in to brand ownership, and how he’s navigated the stormy waters of cut and sew items. We discuss his love of vintage design, how he sells on markets and pop ups and also touch on how learning to screen print for his brand is going.Shoutout to the random guy collecting a synthesizer, he doesn’t talk much but has a five star wave. If you are looking for ransom, we can tell you we don't have money. But what we do have is a very particular guest, a guest we have acquired by asking very nicely if he’d like to talk to us. A guest that will make an excellent podcast episode for people like you. If you listen to it now, that'll be awesome. This week we have the wonderful Conor from Twelve Twelve. He tells us about the science behind his cannabis based brand name, how awkward looking for the right blank is, and explains why he travels five hours for a haircut. Also, capybaras…So please, join as Conor’s knowledge is shared about creating unique nice tshirts. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

18. Paul | Humane Made
Listeners, we have a confession to make. The plan for episode 18 was to release it in a classy and graceful way, much like how we imagine it would feel to get a signed headshot from Ryan Reynolds in the post.Sadly, neither of us possess class or grace in any quantity, so you’re going to have to put up with the equivalent of a Danny DeVito dick pick.In this absolute hoot of an interview, Paul (@humanemadestudio) recounts how he accidentally sold five thousand t-shirts, how he obliterates food in his heat press and explains why his dog has a penthouse kennel. We also touch on some actual brand stuff, such as the importance of consistency, how custom packaging can be a blessing and a curse and how difficult it is to open a retail space at the tender age of 17.If all of this isn’t enough to tempt you, it’s definitely worth tuning in for Paul’s verbal self portrait via the medium of household vegetables. 17. Luke | Seity Socks
Start 2023 the way you mean to go on and get episode 17 of The Brand Social Podcast vibrating your eardrums and tickling your hippocampus. This week we have the pleasure of talking to Luke from Seity (rhymes with deity) Socks. In the first episode of the New Year we discuss the difficulty in sourcing eco conscious manufacturers, and then what happens when the one you settle on gets invaded by Russia.Luke extols the virtues of winging it when it comes to contacting wholesalers, and explains how important “doing stuff for the sake of doing stuff” is for him as a tool for learning and networking. If this all sounds like a rather serious way to start the year, fear not as we also chat about being a musician, about how awesome socks are as an adult, and decide that butt cleaners in toilets should be mandatory. The immaculate conception of episode 16 has taken place, and the stable is comfortably set for a virgin to squeeze out two hours of aural pleasure for you.Listen to the three wise men (Darcy, Pav and Fletcher from @fixativeco) discuss the importance of enjoying the little wins, how displacing a sibling from the family home can facilitate brand growth, and how valuable it is to lean on mentors when learning a new skill. We recommend listening out for Fletchers cheesy chips election promise that we think will make him win by a landslide.Pop over to Apple Podcast and Spotify and let The Brand Social Santas empty their podcast sack in your ears.
