About Vanessa:
Vanessa Kwan is an artist, producer, and curator with a focus on collaborative, site-specific and cross-disciplinary practices. They are currently Director + Curator, Gallery and Exhibitions at Emily Carr University on unceded Musqueam, Squamish and Tsleil-Waututh territories (Vancouver, Canada). They have worked in artistic leadership roles since 2003, contributing to organizations such as grunt gallery, the Vancouver Art Gallery, Other Sights for Artists’ Projects, Access Gallery, Powell Street Festival and Out On Screen. They regularly write, speak and publish on art and culture, and since 2017 have been producing residency projects across the Pacific Rim (Vancouver, Seoul, Melbourne and Sydney) exploring artist-led creative exchange. In addition they have produced significant public art works including Geyser for Hillcrest Park (with Erica Stocking), Speaker A, a permanent sound installation co-created with Theatre Replacement (Maiko Yamamoto and James Long) and Curtains, an upcoming collaborative performance work.

Tara is known for her unique and dynamic hybrid of dance, comedy and theatre. She is sought after for creating innovative movement for theatre and has performed her full length solos and ensemble works around the world (highlights: DanceBase/Edinburgh, South Bank Centre/London, On the Boards/Seattle USA, High Performance Rodeo/Calgary etc.). Recent works include a collaboration with Italian dance/performance artist Silvia Gribaudi, empty.swimming.pool, (Castiglioncello, Bassano, Victoria and Vancouver), ensemble creation, how to be, which premiered at The Cultch, and her solo I can’t remember the word for I can’t remember, toured widely, and her newest solo Body Parts has been made into a stunning film which is currently touring virtually. Tara lives on the unceded Coast Salish territories with her partner composer Marc Stewart and their child.

About Adam:
Now based in Vancouver, Adam was born and raised in Newfoundland, Canada. He started writing professionally in his early twenties, as a radio columnist for the CBC Morning Show. In that time, he also became Newfoundland’s youngest ever winner of both the Arts and Letters Award for Fiction, and the George Story Medal of Excellence in the Arts.
Adam then moved west to study – and eventually teach – at Vancouver Film School. His films have since screened as official selections at festivals including California’s Newport Beach Film Festival, the National Screen Institute’s Online All-Star Reel, and the Vancouver International Film Festival – where Float took home the honours for Best Canadian Short in 2012. In 2016, Conocerlos: Get to Know Them earned him his first BC Film Award nomination for Best Screenwriting.
In dance, Adam is an associate artist with All Bodies Dance Project. His choreography and collaborations have featured at festivals including Vancouver's 12 Minutes Max, Victoria's SKAMpede, and Calgary's Fluid Festival. His current residency at The Dance Centre finds him working alongside TJ Dawe, Su-Feh Lee, and longtime collaborator Naomi Brand on a new solo piece: Good Bully. Beyond his residency, Adam is also part of New Works’ CanDance Exchange and Propeller’s Digital Disability and Dance initiative in Ottawa.
In the theatre, Adam is a Jessie Award winning actor whose west coast performance highlights include productions of his own shows, Last Train In and Lights, as well as Touchstone Theatre's Kill Me Now, and Realwheels Theatre's CREEPS. Looking ahead, his latest play, Saturday Nights at Axles, is in development at Realwheels, where he is now Co-Artistic Director.

About Nicole:
Nicole Rose Bond began her formal dance training at York University, graduating with a Bachelor of Fine Arts Dance cum laude in 2005 after being awarded the Grant Strate Award in Dance in 2003 and 2005 respectively and the Harry Rowe Bursary in 2004. Nicole was also featured in The Toronto Star, Arts & Entertainment, Dance’s Class Acts of ’05, as one of “Ten Promising Young Dancers to Watch” in January of 2005.
Nicole has felt privileged to perform works by esteemed choreographers including Peggy Baker, Patricia Beatty, Tom Brouillette, Susan Cash, Bill Coleman, David Earle, Danny Grossman, Ryan Graham Hinds, Christopher House, James Kudelka, Learie McNicholl, Andrea Nann, Yvonne Ng, John Oswald, Peter Quanz, Peter Randazzo and Andrea Spaziani.
Nicole has had three cross country Canadian tours with the Toronto Dance Theatre [TDT]: performing ‘Rivers’ in 2012; ‘Eleven Accords’ in 2014 culminating in a 2014 Dora Mavor Moore award nomination for Best Ensemble Cast – ‘Eleven Accords’; and in celebration of the TDT 50th anniversary following the company’s tour of Medellin and Bogotá, Colombia in 2017, the TDT toured Canada a third time in 2018.
Following the world debut of ‘Who We Are In The Dark’ in Toronto in 2019, Nicole toured with Peggy Baker Dance Projects along with Sara Neufeld and Jeremy Gara of Arcade Fire to other Canadian cities as well as Den Haag, Netherlands and Guanajuato, Mexico culminating in a 2019 Dora Mavor Moore award nomination for Best Ensemble Cast – ‘Who We Are In The Dark’.
Whilst residing in Toronto, Nicole has worked as a course director in Graham Technique and Contemporary Dance at York University, Canada’s National Ballet School and has taught dance classes and workshops within the Toronto School Board. Nicole has also served on the Toronto Arts Counsel Advisory Panel and as a member of the Dance Collection Danse ‘Encore: Hall of Fame’ Committee and the Heliconian Club.
Since moving to Vancouver three years ago, Nicole has been teaching at Arts Umbrella, Modus Operandi and Simon Fraser University and has served as resident choreographer for three independent plays. Nicole’s choreographic debut in 2022 is now a permanent fixture of Arts Umbrella’s annual ‘Mixed Nuts’ repertoire.
Nicole is passionate about the pedagogy of the Graham Technique whilst honouring those who have come before her. Nicole is beyond grateful that her vocation encompasses doing what she loves and is humbled by, and indebted to, the unique and beautiful arts community that she calls home.

About Amanda:
Amanda Sum (she/her) is a performer and creator who dances between theatre and music. Amanda has collaborated on many interdisciplinary theatre based works which have brought her to perform and present works at the Smush Gallery (Jersey City) at On The Boards (Seattle) Fury Factory Festival of Ensemble and Devised Theatre (San Francisco) and Summerworks (Toronto). As an actor Amanda’s recent credits include 4 seasons of the East Van Panto (Theatre Replacement) and Sense and Sensibility (The Arts Club). Amanda's debut indie-pop album New Age Attitudes was released in the fall of 2022. Her music video Different Than Before (directed by Mayumi Yoshida) was JUNO-Nominated for Music Video of the Year and won the SXSW Music Video Jury Award (2023). As Theatre Replacement’s COLLIDER Artist Amanda created New Age Attitudes: Live in Concert. Part pop-up book part performance this experimental theatre piece premiered in the spring of 2023 and is touring this year. She is releasing a new EP in the summer of 2024. Amanda holds a BFA from SFU.

About Erika:
Erika Mitsuhashi is an interdisciplinary artist and performer living and working on the unceded, ancestral, and occupied, traditional lands of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Səl̓ílwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh), and Skwxwú7mesh (Squamish) Nations of the Coast Salish peoples, known as Vancouver, British Columbia. She studied at Simon Fraser University School for the Contemporary Arts receiving a BFA (hons) in dance.
She has had the pleasure of interpreting the work of dance artists including Justine A. Chambers, Ziyian Kwan (Dumb Instrument Dance), Sasha Kleinplatz (Wants&Needs Danse), Rob Kitsos, Vanessa Goodman (Action at a Distance) and Judith Garay (Dancers Dancing) in festivals and platforms such as Vancouver International Dance Festival, Dancing on the Edge Festival, Re-FUSE presented by the Vancouver Art Gallery and PuSh International Performing Arts Festival 2020.
Erika’s work has taken the form of performance for stage, installation, experimental film, site specific/responsive performance, scenography and projection design. Most recently she has been experimenting with live-stream video and digital spaces as sites for intimacy and choreography of attention.
Her work and collaborative projects have been presented locally and internationally by PAUL Studios Berlin, Powell Street Festival, Toronto Love-In’s PS:We are All Here series, Surrey Art Gallery’s InFlux, Kinetic Studio’s Open Studio Series, Shooting Gallery Performance Series, Upintheair Theatre’s rEvolver Festival and La Serre's OFFTA festival of live art. She has been supported by organizations including New Works, SummerWorks, VIVO Media Arts, plastic orchid factory, Dance West Network, Boca De Lupo, Theatre Replacement and Company 605 in the creation and development of her works to date.
Locally she engages with two diverse collaborative groups:
Mardon + Mitsuhashi and Erika Mitsuhashi & Francesca Frewer.

About Justine:
The anchors of Justine A. Chambers movement based practice are found in collaborative creation, close observation, and the idea of choreography as living archive. She is concerned with a choreography of the everyday; with the unintentional dances, as she describes them “that are already there.” She emerges from the Black American Diaspora, bi-racial and a dual citizen. Her practice extends from this continuum, and its entanglements with western contemporary dance and visual art practices.
Her recent choreographic projects include: Zephyrs, Heirloom, And then this also, One hundred more, tailfeather, for all of us, it could have been like this, ten thousand times and one hundred more, Family Dinner, Family Dinner: The Lexicon, Semi-precious: the faceting of a gemstone only appears complete and critical; Enters and Exits and COPY.

About Kate:
Kate Franklin was born in North Bay, Ontario. She started dancing at age 5 and got super serious about it at age 10. When she was 13, she left home to attend Quinte Ballet School of Canada in Belleville, Ontario, where she undertook her professional training for the next five years. Now an independent contemporary dance artist, she has spent the past 20 or so years in Toronto/Tkaronto and so-called Vancouver (on the unceded Indigenous territories of the Musqueam, Squamish and Tsleil-Waututh First Nations) wearing almost every "hat" a person can wear in the community, (performer, choreographer, administrator, volunteer, producer, presenter, educator, outside eye, probably a couple other things). She works regularly for local artists Company 605, Justine A. Chambers and Tara Cheyenne Performance, amongst others, as well as being in her eighth season as Associate Artistic Director of four-year post-secondary contemporary dance program Modus Operandi, where she has the responsibility and privilege of teaching a small, dedicated, passionate group of younger dance artists.
Kate has taught Yoga and Pilates mat work in the past.

Starr Muranko is dancer/choreographer, Mother and Co-Artistic Director with Raven Spirit Dance. As a choreographer she is most interested in the stories that we carry within our bodies and Ancestral connections to land that transcend time and space. Her work has been shared locally and nationally including the Dance Centre, Talking Stick Festival, Coastal Dance Festival, Dancing on the Edge, Native Earth Performing Arts, Weesageechak Begins to Dance, Impact Festival and InFringing Dance Festival. Featured works include Chapter 21, Spine of the Mother and before7after as well as recent collaborative work Confluence and her current research for a new piece Tracing Bones.
A proud company dancer with the Dancers of Damelahamid since 2005, she has toured across Canada and internationally and trained under the guidance and mentorship of the late Elder Margaret Harris. She is currently Artist-in-Residence at Ballet BC alongside colleague and longtime collaborator Margaret Grenier. Starr has facilitated workshops through ArtsStarts, Vancouver Aboriginal Friendship Centre, Native Education College and Vines Art Festival and holds a BFA in Dance from SFU’s School for the Contemporary Arts. About Sophia:
My name is Sophia Mai Wolfe (she/her/hers), I am a queer, Japanese-Canadian independent artist whose practice is ever-changing. My practice moves and connects me to live performance, video documentation, curation, festival programming, editing, filmmaking, and directing. I am a grateful guest of what is colonially know as Vancouver on the territories of the xʷməθkwəy̓əm (Musqueam), Skwxwú7mesh (Squamish),and Səl̓ílwətaʔ/Selilwitulh (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations. My dance practice has led me to performing and touring internationally with companies and independent choreographers such as Company 605, Co-Erasga, Chick Snipper, Cindy Mochizuki, Lisa Mariko Gelley, Kelly McInnes, Antonio Somera, Zahra Shahab, The Only Animal and New World Theatre.
I hold an MA in Screendance from the London Contemporary Dance School, and am the founding Artistic Director of F-O-R-M (Festival Of Recorded Movement). Through completing my MA, I became interested in making work that challenges and slows our attention. I use film and dance to invite connection and empathy towards the bodies we witness on screen, as well as invite sensation within the bodies of those witnessing. I work independently and collaboratively with artists and communities to engage audiences in work that moves them through embodied and imaginative experiences.
I am also involved with videocan as a video archivist and on the research team which is an online archive of Canadian performance directed by Patrick Blenkarn and Milton Lim. I have also curated screenings for New Blue Dance Festival (Toronto), Vancouver Art Gallery, DOTE (Vancouver) and Body+Camera (Chicago).

About Caron:
As an athlete Caron was dissatisfied with the current state of women's health and representation in the fitness industry. Many training programs treat male and female athletes the same despite the big underlying difference - hormones. Taking matters into her own hands, Caron has dedicated herself to learning all she can about women's health and fitness so she can support women at all stages of life - teens, menstruating, peri and postmenopausal and pregnant and postpartum - all which require different nutritional support and training stimulus. Caron is an associate coach at Madlab School of Fitness in Vancouver.

About Fay Nass:

Fay Nass is the recipient of Gina Wilkinson Award 2022, a community-engaged director, writer, dramaturg, innovator, producer and educator. They are the Artistic Director of the frank theatre company and the founder/Artistic Director of Aphotic Theatre.
Fay has over 17 years of experience in text-based and devised work deeply rooted in inter-cultural and collaborative approaches. Fay’s work often examines questions of race, gender, sexuality, culture and language through an intersectional lens in order to shift meanings and de-construct paradigms rooted in our society. Fay’s work celebrates liminality and trans-culturalism, and blurs the line between politics and intimate personal stories.
Fay’s work has been presented at PuSh International Performing Arts Festival, SummerWorks Festival, Queer Arts Festival, the CULTCH and Firehall Arts Centre. Her readings and experimental work have been presented at various conferences and artist-run galleries in Spain, Berlin and Paris. Their co-creation project Be-Longing was part of the 2021 New York international Film Festival, NICE International Film Festival and Madrid International Film Festival.
Their most recent credits include: co-creating Be-Longing (the frank theatre), co-directing Trans Script Part I: The Women (the frank theatre and Zee Theatre at Firehall Arts Centre), directing She Mami Wata & the Pussy WitchHunt (the frank theatre at PuSh Festival 2020), co-directing Straight White Men (ITSAZOO productions at Gateway Theatre), and dramaturgy for Camera Obscura (Hungry Ghosts) (the frank theatre & QAF). Fay holds an MFA from Simon Fraser University. Currently, they are doing the Artistic Leadership Residency at the National Theatre School of Canada.
As an artistic leader and a practitioner, Fay has deep and involved relationships—both creative and organizational—with a wide spectrum of artists across generations and stylistic practices. As an educator and facilitator, their philosophy and pedagogy are rooted in anti-racism and anti-oppression.

About Ashley Whitehead:
(they/them) is a multidisciplinary creator and performer, and a third generation European (Swedish, English)-Canadian living on the unceded Coast Salish territories of the Squamish, Musqueam, and Tsleil-Waututh First Nations - also known as Vancouver, BC.
Ashley comes from a background of contemporary dance and clown, is an emerging singer/songwriter, and a sexual health educator. Combining performing arts and education, they love to use humour and play to create accessible, inclusive, and now often informative, performances drawing upon skills in facilitation, interaction, and improvisation.
Ashley has studied with, and been influenced, by numerous, meaningful mentors and teachers including: David MacMurray Smith (Fantastic Space Enterprises), Shirley Gnome, Tiffany Tregarthen and David Raymond (Modus Operandi), Jonathan Stancanto (Inside Voice), Serge Bennathan, and Peter Bingham (Edam Dance).
After creating Pulsive Party with creative partner Natalie Tin Yin Gan and their first full length show ‘Lip Service: Come and get some’, Ashley pursued a career in sexual health education, and has since graduated from Options for Sexual Health’s certification program. Ashley currently works as an independent educator and is employed with Real Talk, a sexual health initiative aimed at people living with cognitive disabilities.
Ashley and Natalie share educational videos through Tiktok, and have completed a second show that revolves around a safer sex lesson plan, ‘Lip Service 2: Breaking down Barriers’ that looks to tour to festivals, schools, and conferences in the coming years.

Natalie Tin Yin Gan (顏婷妍) is an independent dance artist, writer, and teacher based in so-called Vancouver, on the unceded ancestral lands of the Musqueam, Squamish, and Tsleil-Waututh First Nations. Her practice squats at the intersection of ancestral spirit, somatics, and technology-induced melancholy. Natalie is the Co-Artistic Director of company Hong Kong Exile that explores the historical and contemporary politic of the Chinese diaspora. She is also the smaller half of vulva duo, Pulsive Party. She is a graduate of The Writer’s Studio and a certified teacher of Fitzmaurice Voicework®. Currently, she is a Narrative Designer at indie video game company, Sunset Visitor Studios.

About Sara Vickruck:
Sara Vickruck (They/Them) is an award winning queer, multi-disciplinary performer, host, musician, song writer, sound designer, and creator currently living on the unceded territories of the Halkomelem speaking peoples. They work both on screen, and on stage in many venues across the country. Sara is a Jessie Richardson award winner and an Equity and Stage West 2020 Emerging Artist award winner. You may know them from the critically acclaimed show Polly Queer Love Ballad, a slam poetry musical, as Mercutio from Bard on the Beaches’ Romeo and Juliet, or perhaps as part of the band The Quarantettes.
Something they are loving right now is building a future with their partner. One thing they wish to have more of in their life is writing and performing music, cause it feels so good. The practice of acting, singing, and creating is important to them because it continues to remind them to return to themselves and confront the things that get in the way of loving themselves and others.
Sara studied Musical theatre at Grant MacEwan University in Edmonton. They have and still do train privately with many acting coaches in Vancouver, such as Scott Swan, and mentored under Mischelle Cuttler in sound design.

About Mary-Louise Albert:
Mary Louise Albert is based full time in Sointula, British Columbia and is actively growing the BC Movement Arts Society (that she co-founded in 2015 and is the Artistic & Executive Director/Producer of) producing and facilitating a professional contemporary dance series, artist creation residencies, community outreach and digital dance projects in rural and remote coastal communities of British Columbia.
Albert previously held a 15-year position as the Artistic Managing Director of the Norman Rothstein Theatre (NRT) and the multidisciplinary international Chutzpah! Festival.
A former professional dancer, choreographer and teacher, she worked for 20 years nationally and internationally as a solo dance artist and as a company member with the Judith Marcuse Dance Company, Anna Wyman Dance Theatre, Karen Jamieson Dance Company as well as apprenticing with Les Grands Ballet Canadiens. Albert has performed work by choreographers such as Mark Morris, Crystal Pite, Lar Lubabvitch, Robert North, Serge Bennathan, Allen Kaeja, Judith Marcuse, Grant Strate, Peter Bingham, Tedd Robbinson, Judith Garay and Christopher House, to name a few.
She has an extensive teaching background that includes ArtsUmbrella, Sessional Positions at Simon Fraser University School for the Contemporary Arts, Harbour Dance Centre, Goh Ballet and the Portside Academy in Port McNeill, as well as adjudicating for dance festivals throughout Western Canada.
Transitioning from professional dance at the age of 45, Albert won the nationally awarded Eric Bruhn Memorial Award from the Dancer Transition Resource Centre to attend Capilano University and the British Columbia Institute of Technology (BCIT), School of Business, graduating with a Post Diploma of Technology in Business Administration and an Advanced Arts and Entertainment Management Certificate, respectively.
Albert is the recipient of the 2011 Canada Council for the Arts’ John Hobday Award for Excellence in Arts Management, one of two awarded nationally annually. She was an appointed member of the City of Vancouver’s first Arts and Culture Policy Council, was an Executive Board member of Temple Sholom, and was a five-year member of a Program Advisory Committee for the BCIT School of Business. She is a member of the Board of the Gate House Theatre in Port McNeill and a member of the Board of the Sointula Museum Historical Society.

About Lee Su-Feh (she/they)
Lee Su-Feh is a performance maker, educator and writer who has spent the last 40 years exploring the human body as a site of intersecting habits and histories. Born and raised in Malaysia, her early training began with a mix of traditional and contemporary South-East Asian dance and theatre, during which she was deeply influenced by teachers and mentors, Janet Pillai, Marion D’Cruz and Krishen Jit. The learning environments of Temple of Fine Arts and Kompleks Budaya Negara also left a deep impression.
Since then, her explorations in movement and performance have taken her to Europe and North America where she has been influenced by teachers such as Lari Leong, Peter Bingham, Linda Putnam, and Catherine Fitzmaurice; and by artistic encounters and collaborations with David McIntosh, Benoît Lachambre, Zab Maboungou, among others. Alongside this trajectory in performance-making, she has pursued a lifelong study and practice of Chinese martial arts, Qigong and Daoism. She has studied Yang Taiji, Wu Taiji, Chen Taiji, Baguazhang and Xingyiquan with Xu Gong Wei; and Baguazhang with Yang Guo Tai. Since 2010, she has been a student of Fitzmaurice Voicework® and is currently a certified Lead Trainer of the work. She is a member of the Advisory Group of the Fitzmaurice Institute and participates actively in the international community of Fitzmaurice Voicework teachers.
Based on Musqueam, Squamish, Tsleil-waututh Territories, colonially known as Vancouver, Canada, she is Artistic Director of battery opera performing arts society and teaches voice and movement.

Amanda Testini (she/her) is an Italian-Canadian performer, choreographer and director based on the unceded and ancestral territories of the Musqueam, Squamish and Tsleil-Waututh First Nations. Amanda has worked with Arts Club Theatre Company, Bard on the Beach, the Cultch, Theatre Replacement, Firehall Arts Centre, Belfry Theatre, Opera Kelowna, Gateway Theatre, Savage Society, Theatre Under the Stars, Vancouver Asian Canadian Theatre, Carousel Theatre for Young People, shameless hussy productions, Neworld Theatre, Speakeasy Theatre, Electric Company, Vancouver Opera, Axis Theatre and Banff Centre of the Arts. About Emmalena:
Emmalena Fredriksson is a contemporary dance artist living and working in Vancouver, Canada, as a guest on the ancestral unceded lands of the Coast Salish peoples.
Her practice is defined by choreography as a relational practice in the expanded fields of dance, often collaborating with artists of other disciplines, creating choreographic experiences and dance for social events, film, galleries and performance.
Born in Sweden, she received her training at Balettakademien in Umeå and at SEAD in Austria. Emmalena has presented choreographic work, performed and taught internationally with Daghdha Dance Company (IE), Canaldanse (FR), Malta University (MT), Pact Zollverein (DE), and Falmouth University (UK) among others.
Based in Vancouver since 2013 her work has been presented in Dancing on the Edge,
The Dance Centre's Discover Dance Series, Dance in Vancouver's Choreography Walk (curated by Justine A. Chambers), Dance Days (Victoria) and at the Audain Gallery. Commissioned by the National Film Board, she co-created Tidal Traces - a VR 360 dance film together with Nancy Lee in 2017. The film has to date had over 35 international screenings.
Emmalena holds an MFA degree from Simon Fraser University and she regularly teaches at Modus Operandi, Training Society of Vancouver, Harbour Dance Centre and Simon Fraser University in Vancouver.

Joanna Garfinkel is the Dramaturg, Creative Engagement at Playwrights Theatre Centre and co-founder, with Yoshie Bancroft, of Universal Limited. Joanna's focus is in collaborative approaches to new play development, multidisciplinary, and site-specific work; upcoming projects include dramaturgy with ZeeZee Theatre/VACT on My Little Tomato, and the Queer & Trans playwriting unit; UL's development on To the Sea; PTC Associates Kamila Sediego's Engkanto and José Teodoro's Binary Star. She is also working on ongoing dance collaborations, including TCP's Pants. She is the co-creator, with Yoshie Bancroft, of JAPANESE PROBLEM, a site-responsive piece about the Japanese Canadian Incarceration, which has been performed site-specifically in Vancouver, at Soulpepper in Toronto, and in several locations in between. Joanna is struck by the systemic inequities that repeat in Canada, and to troubling those patterns through performance. Other notable credits include Berlin: The Last Cabaret at PuSh 2020, and the multi-award-winning Poly Queer Love Ballad, which toured to Theatre Passe Murailles in 2019. She has been nominated for three Jessie awards, winning one (Critics Choice for Innovation); was awarded the Pure Research grant from Nightswimming Theatre (Toronto), and has received the Sydney Risk award for directing. She moved to Vancouver to get her MFA in directing at UBC, and her focus since has been primarily in new play development, multidisciplinary, and site-specific work. She has trained with Anne Bogart and the SITI Company in New York.

About Denise Clarke:
Denise began working with One Yellow Rabbit in 1983 and became Associate Artist and a permanent member of the Ensemble in 1986. She has created or co-created several shows including The Erotic Irony of Old Glory, Touch, CD Dance, Breeder, So Low, Permission, Featherland, Sign Language, Heavens to Murgatroid, A Fabulous Disaster, Smash Cut Freeze, and wag. In 1997, Denise created the Summer Lab Intensive and as Director continues to welcome a broad range of established and emerging artists from all over the world. She continues to teach, provide master classes, and lecture across Canada and abroad.
Other work includes choreography for Theatre Calgary and Alberta Theatre Projects in Calgary, Edmonton's Citadel Theatre, Crows Theatre, Canadian Stage Company in Toronto, the Belfry Theatre in Victoria, and the Shaw Festival in Niagara on the Lake. Denise has toured extensively in shows including Ilsa, Queen of the Nazi Love Camp, Mata Hari: Tigress at the City Gates, Doing Leonard Cohen, Thunderstruck, Sign Language, and Dream Machine.
On December 30th, 2013, Denise was appointed as a Member to the Order of Canada, one of Canada's highest civilian honours. Prior to this appointment, she was also recognized by the University of Calgary with an Honourary Doctorate from the Faculty of Arts.
Recently Denise wrote The Big Secret Book, An Intense Guide To Creating Performance Theatre.

About Naomi Brand:
Originally from Tkaronto (Toronto), Naomi spent ten years dancing on Treaty 7 territory (Calgary), before relocating to the unceded territories of the Skwxwú7mesh (Squamish), Səl̓ílwətaɬ (Tsleil- Waututh), and xʷməθkwəy̓əm (Musqueam) people in 2013. She holds both a BA and an MFA from the University of Calgary and a DanceAbility teaching certificate from founder Alito Alessi. As a performer, choreographer, writer and facilitator Naomi has cultivated a unique artistic practice that spans work with professional dancers to a community-engaged practice with diverse populations. She has danced in the works of many respected Canadian choreographers and her own choreography which ranges from works as a soloist, to large group ensemble pieces have been featured in numerous venues and festivals across Canada as well as in Poland, Italy and Uruguay. In recent years her practice has been focused on values of access and inclusion as she strives to make dance within a context that both creates and speaks to community connection. In addition to her work as Artistic Director of All Bodies Dance Project, Naomi is also a Community Arts Programmer with the Vancouver Park Board and a faculty member at Langara College. Naomi is the recipient of numerous grants from the Canada Council for the Arts, BC Art Council, Alberta Foundation for the Arts, the Social Science and Humanities Research Council of Canada, as well as the Lieutenant Governor of Alberta Emerging Artist Award.

About khattieQ and Jenny Larson-Quiñones:
khattieQ (they/she/he) is a performer from Puerto Rico. Co-creator and star of 2020 Fringe New Play Prize winner ‘Catalina La O Presenta: Ahora Conmigo’ which features original music. khattieQ was the guitarist and vocalist for punk band BLXPLTN. khattieQ has played as a professional musician with over twenty bands, cutting their teeth on the famous Austin, Texas live music scene. Most notably, they toured as drummer for queer femme core band The Tuna Helpers. Professional credits include Denim Doves and Casta for Salvage Vanguard Theater in Austin, TX, Heaven Born Wind at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver and Frank Theatre’s Be-Longing.
Jenny Larson-Quiñones (she/they) is a writer and theatre maker. They served as the Artistic Director of experimental new works company Salvage Vanguard Theatre in Austin, TX from 2008-2019. They have had residencies with the Workshop Theatre, New Dramatist, and the Drama League in NYC. They have trained with SITI company and worked with the Rude Mechs. They have worked internationally (in Bulgaria, Hungary, Russia) thanks to Center for International Theatre Development and Trust for Mutual Understanding. Jenny’s scripts include Catalina La O Presenta (winner of the Fringe New Play Prize 2020), Desperately Seeking Comfortable Shoes (Emerging Playwright’s Unit 2021), and always boy (PTC Digital Dramaturgy Initiative & GVPTA Digital Connections Cohort 2021). Their work has shown in Texas, Los Angeles, Vancouver, Bulgaria, Finland, and New York City.
jk jk, khattie and Jenny began creating together in 2015, officially forming jk jk in 2019. Their mandate is to create work that magnifies the disenfranchised while challenging the status quo. Their work combines khattie’s punk rock aesthetic and Jenny’s experimental theatre training to create stories that centre joy, foolishness, and social justice, in an attempt to get to the heart of the human condition. Their work Catalina La O premieres live in Vancouver in June 2022

Carmen Aguirre, Core Artist at Vancouver’s Electric Company Theatre and Artistic Associate of New Play Development at The Stratford Festival, is an award-winning theatre artist and author. She has written and co-written over twenty-five plays, the #1 international bestseller Something Fierce: Memoirs of a Revolutionary Daughter (winner of CBC Canada Reads 2012), and its bestselling sequel, Mexican Hooker #1 and My Other Roles Since the Revolution. About Justine:
Justine A. Chambers is a choreographer, dancer and educator living and working on the traditional and ancestral Coast Salish territories of the Sḵwx̱wú7mesh, Musqueam and Tsleil-Waututh Nations. Her movement based practice considers how choreography can be an empathic practice rooted in collaborative creation, close observation, and the body as a site of a cumulative embodied archive. Privileging what is felt over what is seen, she works with dances that are already there – the social choreographies present in the everyday. She is Max Tyler-Hite’s mother.

The anchors of Justine A. Chambers movement based practice are found in collaborative creation, close observation, and the idea of choreography as living archive. She is concerned with a choreography of the everyday; with the unintentional dances, as she describes them “that are already there.” Her recent choreographic projects include: and then also this, One hundred more, tailfeather, for all of us, it could have been like this, ten thousand times and one hundred more, Family Dinner, Family Dinner: The Lexicon, Semi-precious: the faceting of a gemstone only appears complete and critical; Enters and Exits and COPY.

About Quelemia:
Quelemia is an Indigenous actor, writer, director, dramaturge and consultant from the Musqueam Nation. She graduated from Studio 58’s Theatre program and the Langara Film Arts screenwriting program.
She represented the Musqueam Nation during the opening ceremonies of the 2010 Olympics and since then has continued to do Land Acknowledgements on the unceded territory of the Musqueam, Squamish and Tsleil-Waututh people. She facilitates workshops and does various consultations for the arts and corporate sector.
It’s been an honour for Quelemia to be the Protocol Keeper for the Transform Festival at the CULTCH for 3 years running. In 2019 she co-hosted the opening bashes with Lisa Fa’alafi from Hot Brown Honey.
Quelemia works across Canada for various theatre companies including: The Arts Club, Bard on the Beach, Globe Theatre, WCT and The Stratford Festival. Some of her Film and T.V credits include: Invasions, Tribal, Clouds of Autumn, Blackstone, Cable Beach and Da Vinci’s City Hall and Da Vinci’s Inquest which she won a Leo Award for Best Female Guest Appearance.
Though she works in various forms, much of Quelemia’s writing centres Indigenous perspective, specifically her Musqueam knowledge and culture. Over the past 20 years, she has been learning about sχʷəy̓em̓ (Musqueam history), the original placenames of what we currently call Greater Vancouver, land-based stories and teachings.
Writing credits include: A podplay for Neworld Theatre and Raven Spirit Dance called ‘Ashes on the Water’, ‘Salmon Girl’/Raven Spirit Dance, Co-writer ‘The Pipeline Project’ /Itsazoo and Savage Society, Indigenous consultant and Indigenous content writer for ‘Lysistrata’/Bard on the Beach, ‘Skyborn: A Land Reclamation Odyssey’/Savage Society, currently she is completing ‘Women of Papiyek’/Full Circle/Animikiig Native Earth.
She was an Associate with Playwrights Theatre Centre from 2014-2016 and she completed the Stratford writing retreat in 2017. She is currently working on a commission from Neworld Theatre and creating a Podcast play series for the Arts Club Theatre.

Amber received her training with Goh Ballet Academy, Arts Umbrella, The Banff Centre Dance Training and Ballet British Columbia’s Mentor Program. Over the past 20 years, Amber has worked as a professional contemporary dancer, working with such choreographers and companies such as Joe Laughlin (Joe INK), Gail Lotenberg (LINK dance), Judith Marcuse (Judith Marcuse Projects), Lola MacLaughlin (Lola Dance), Martha Carter (Marta Marta Productions), Jennifer Mascall (Mascall Dance), Day Helesic (MovEnt), Lee su-feh (battery opera), Karen Jamieson (Karen Jamieson) Dance Company), Josh Beamish (MOVE: the company), Dana Gingras (Animals of Distinction), Ruckus Company Productions, Adam Shankman, Mark Godden, Marla Eist, Jennifer Clarke, Emily Molnar, Wen Wei Wang, Cori Caulfield, Lina Fitzner and Heather Laura Gray. She has also been featured as a guest artist with Company 605 and performed in Neworld Theatre’s King Arthur’s Night.
In 2008, Amber established her own Vancouver based contemporary dance company, the response. and served as its artistic director until 2021. As a choreographer, her work has been presented in various venues in Vancouver, across Canada, and internationally at the Chapter Arts Centre (Wales), the NW New Works Festival in (Seattle), and the BAAD!ASS Women Festival (Bronx, New York). Her work has also extended into theatre choreographing for Horseshoes and Hand Grenades, collaborating with theatre director Mindy Parfitt of Search Party Productions, Studio 58 and Alley Theatre.
Amber continues to do the majority of her work, learning, playing and living on the unceded and ancestral lands of the Musqueum, Squamish and Tsleil-Waututh Nations.

About Nancy:
Sound artist, 譚亦斯 (Nancy Tam), is originally from Hong Kong. She and her family settled in the suburbs of Markham, Ontario on the traditional territories of the Wendat, the Haudenosaunee, and the Anishinaabe peoples in the mid 90s. After some time, she moved to the Haldimand Tract—land that was granted to the Haudenosaunee of the Six Nations of the Grand River for music school in the Kitchener-Waterloo area. In 2011, she moved to the unceded territories of the Sḵwx̱wú7mesh, Musqueam and Tsleil-Waututh Nations—Vancouver. She is very grateful to be part of loving and welcoming communities throughout her journey in art and in life, and this journey has afforded her many unique opportunities. She is a founding member of the Vancouver-based performance collective A Wake of Vultures, the Toronto-based Toy Piano Composers collective, and has toured with her work throughout North America, Europe, and Asia. She is an award-winning composer. Nancy’s work centres around the philosophy that sound is distant touch.
She continues to explore ways to elicit embodied and emotional responses using sound and performance as her primary media. Using multi-channel audio, and musical composition her current research triangulates between sound, space, and body to investigate tendencies of global and local mobilizations of creatures, objects, and events. Her work is form-bending and dramaturgically rigorous, often bringing the background to the forefront in creating immersive scenographic environments. Nancy has a penchant for listening to quiet sounds.

About Susie:
Active in the performing arts in Canada for over 25 years, dance artist Susie Burpee is a performer, creator, teacher, and mother to two young children. She danced for many years with Dancemakers, Le Groupe Dance Lab, and Tedd Robinson (10 Gates Dancing) and recently with Hanna Kiel (Human Body Expression) and Alyssa Martin (Rock Bottom Movement). Augmenting her dance training with studies in Bouffon and character work, Susie has collaborated on projects with Crow’s Theatre, Dusk Dances, Nightwood Theatre, and with longtime colleague Linnea Swan. Her work has received Dora Mavor Moore Awards for both Outstanding Choreography and Performance and she is a recipient of the K.M. Hunter Artist Award for Dance. Susie is on guest faculty at many post-secondary dance programs across the country, and in 2020, she completed a Master of Arts in Drama, Theatre, and Performance Studies at The University of Toronto. She is originally from rural Manitoba, a second-generation settler on the original lands of Anishinaabeg, Cree, Oji-Cree, Dakota, and Dene peoples, and on the homeland of the Métis Nation. Since 2001, Toronto/Tkaronto has been her home; she now works there with Theatre Direct as producer of Balancing Act, a national platform to support caregivers in the performing arts.

About Jane:
Jane Gabriels, Ph.D. (she/her) is a performer, writer, curator/producer. Since 2018, she's worked as Executive Director of "Made in BC – Dance on Tour," an arts service organization with a network of theatres and local dance champions connecting dance artists with audiences throughout the province. In collaboration with other artists and partners, she also supports the work of the Bronx-based non-profit arts organization, Pepatián:Bronx arts ColLABorative. She co-edited and contributed writings to Curating Live Arts: Critical perspectives, essays, and conversations on theory and practice (Berghahn Books, 2018), and Essays from Configurations in Montreal: Performance curation and communities of colour (Duke Univ and Concordia Univ, 2018), as well as contributing an essay about dance maker Merián Soto to Latina Outsiders (Routledge Press, 2019). She produced two documentary videos: "Women in Hip-Hop Rep the Bronx” and "Out of La Negrura/Out of Blackness in the Bronx” (distributor: Third World Newsreel). In Vancouver, she created an annual residency project to support emerging dancers and writers of colour. With Caridad De La Luz and Ana Rokafella Garcia, she is co-teaching “Women in Hip-Hop Rep the Birthplace” which had its debut at Simon Fraser University, Fall 2020. Ideas about levitation are the focus of her next performance project supported by BC Arts Council, and writing projects include a fictional work set along lake shores, and a very ongoing, slowly created, work-in-progress about her experiences working in The Bronx. She believes in expansive thinking and encouraging artists to Go For It.

About Lisa:
Lisa Mariko Gelley is a performer, teacher, choreographer, and mother, living and working on the traditional, ancestral, unceded territory of the Coast Salish Peoples, including the territories of the xʷməθkwəy̓əm (Musqueam), Skwxwú7mesh (Squamish), and Səl̓ílwətaʔ/Selilwitulh (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations. She received her training in classical, contemporary, and urban dance forms in Canada and Europe. She trained and performed as a guest interpreter at Le Groupe Dance Lab in Ottawa under the direction of Peter Boneham, in one of the company’s final years of existence. Lisa is Artistic Co-Director of Company 605, a contemporary dance company in Vancouver, creating original works through collaborative processes with artists in dance and other disciplines. Lisa has worked and collaborated with artists including Dana Gingras, Justine A. Chambers, Cindy Mochizuki, Amber Funk Barton, Vanessa Goodman, Martha Carter, Karen Jamieson, and was a member of Aeriosa (Julia Taffe) for six years, broadening her practice to include vertical contemporary dance in rock climbing systems on urban building walls and mountains. In addition to her work as a performer/choreographer, Lisa values opportunities to connect with young dancers and emerging professionals through contemporary dance education. Lisa is the recipient of the 2015 Vancouver International Dance Festival Choreographic Award.

About Harmanie:
Harmanie Rose is a disabled dance artist living and working on the unceded territory of the Musqueam, Sḵwx̱wú7mesh, and Tsleil-Waututh Nations, also known as Vancouver, BC. She began her dance journey in 2006 on the Treaty 6 territory known as Edmonton, AB. She co-founded iDance Edmonton in 2008 (now known as CRIPSiE) before relocating to BC. Since 2014, Harmanie has worked as a performer, choreographer, and facilitator for the award-winning All Bodies Dance Project and as a facilitator for Ready Dance: an All Bodies Youth Project.
Harmanie has had the pleasure of studying with dance companies such as Axis Dance (US), Candoco Dance Company (UK), Amici Dance Theatre (UK), MoMo Mixed Ability Dance Theatre (AB, CAN), and DanceAbility International (USA). She has created three outdoor, site-specific pieces, and one site-specific dance short film for Vines Art Festival as well as performed in Dance in Vancouver( DiV), and Dancing on the Edge (DOTE). Watch her in three dance films including world-renowned dance artist Alice Sheppard’s Inclinations and Carolina Bergonzoni’s Ho.Me. Sanctuary, the dance film she co-created and danced in, had its world premiere in London at the Together! 2019 Disability Film Festival in December 2019. Also, in June 2019 Harmanie participated in UCLA’s inaugural Dancing Disability Lab (http://www.uei.ucla.edu/academic-programs/disability-studies/disability-inclusion-lab/arts/) to work with other professional disabled dance artists to answer questions around the culture and aesthetics of disabled dance.
Since March 2020, Harmanie has taught virtual Zoom dance classes for Momo Movement (AB), Exploration Dance Project (BC), All Bodies Dance Project (BC), Propeller Dance (ON), and the Kickstart Still, Life Festival (BC). Somatic Dance, as well as Inclusive community-engagement and ensemble improvisation, are at the core of her practice. Harmanie is interested in building relationships strengthened by movement and understanding the environment we are immersed in, whether that is the physical space around us or the virtual space where we engage in movement together.

Kate Franklin
Award-winning dance artist Kate Franklin spent the first decade of her career in Toronto, where she was active as a performer, producer, choreographer, teacher, rehearsal director, administrator, volunteer and mentor. Living in Vancouver since 2012, she is Associate Director of Modus Operandi, and teaches professional level contemporary dance at Working Class and Ballet BC. She works as a collaborator/dancer with many independent choreographers and companies such as Tara Cheyenne Performance, Justine A. Chambers, Company 605, Jamie Robinson and Ne.Sans (Idan Cohen). She returns to Toronto regularly to continue her work with Valerie Calam/Company Vice Versa. Kate’s own choreography has been shown most recently at Boombox and Accelerate 3.0.

Sarah Hutton was born and raised in Hanna, Alberta where she discovered her love for movement at the age of five. Sarah continued her early dance education throughout southern Alberta in jazz, tap, and hip-hop and began to choreograph on herself and other students. She moved to Vancouver in 2013 to continue her training, joining the Source Dance Company under the direction of Joanne Pesusich. In 2016, she was chosen for a scholarship at EDAM Dance under Peter Bingham, where she studied contact improvisation. Her new curiosities led her to Modus Operandi where she graduated in 2020 under the direction of Tiffany Tregarthen, David Raymond, and Kate Franklin.
She has performed for creators Paras Terezakis (Kinesis Dance), Shay Kuebler (Radical System Art), Vancouver Fashion Week, Julie-anne Saroyan (Dances for a Small Stage), Kyle Toy, Heather Dotto, and Joanne Pesusich. She is also currently an apprentice with Shay Kuebler (Radical System Art).
Sarah continues to explore her own choreographic practice. Throughout the past four years, her choreography has been performed by the training program The Source Dance Company. Most recently her work has been performed at The Dance Centre’s Christmas Party in 2019.
Hannah Meyers
Driven by rhythms, patterns, colours and a heavy dose of romanticism. Likes to mismatch materials, modes of performance, theories, and histories. Recently, this has meant using found sound as a dialogue for a short video installation (Ordinary Orchestra, NTS Art Apart), board games as a tool to critique colonialism and capitalism (New Societies, Re:Current Theatre), poetry with exercise (The Albertine Workout, SFU), tap dancing through adaptations of adaptations (notnothamletmachine, THEATRECORPS), and rice crispy cereal on vanilla ice cream. A co-founder of Lo-Fi Spectacle Club; a nascent performing arts collective as idealistic as they come. A pandemic graduate (Simon Fraser University Bachelor of Fine Arts Honours in Theatre Performance). Walks and works on the stolen ancestral lands of the Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), Stó:lō and Səl̓ílwətaʔ/Selilwitulh (Tsleil-Waututh) and xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam) Nations. Walks and works on these lands as a queer, white, cisgender woman. Walks and works with contradiction. Mismatching and subverting form is both a proclivity and a political assertion.
Jaqueline Ritter
Jaqueline Ritter is a graduate of SFU’s BFA program in Contemporary Dance. Having started ballet classes at the age of three, Jaqueline has committed her entire life to exploring ways to express herself through movement. During her time at SFU, Jaqueline has had the privilege of training under and performing in works by Judith Garay, Rob Kitsos, Chick Snipper, Vanessa Goodman, Yossi Berg and Oded Graf Dance Theatre (Israel), and many others. Jaqueline will soon be launching a choreographic career of her own, with an interest in creating pieces that appeal to her audiences’ emotional and kinesthetic senses of empathy.

Ziyian Kwan has worked as a Vancouver based dance artist since 1988. As an interprète, she has performed close to 100 original creations by an eclectic range of choreographers on international stages, and is recipient of the Isadora Award for excellence in performance. Ziyian is Artistic Director of Dumb Instrument Dance, with which her work has been performed across Canada, receiving commissions and invitations from a generous community of presenting colleagues. Her work abstracts lived experience to create collages of surreal imagery, spoken forms and kinetic narrative. Over three decades, Ziyian’s artistry has been indelibly touched by collaboration with luminaries in the fields of dance, music, film, theatre, literature and visual art.

Tasha Faye Evans is a Coast Salish dance and theatre artist with grandparents also from Wales as well as European Jewish descent. Her career continues to be a collection of collaborations and performances with national and international Indigenous artists, including Starr Muranko’s "Spine of the Mother", Raven Spirit Dance’s "Salmon Girl and Confluence", Marie Clements’ "The Unnatural and Accidental Women", and Thomson Highway’s "The Rez Sisters". She is currently creating a new dance solo in collaboration with carver Ocean Hyland called, "Cedar Woman". Tasha has also been focusing on redress and Coast Salish cultural resurgence, particularly in Port Moody, BC where she is raising her two children. Over the past four years, she has been engaging Port Moody and the public at large in arts-based community development projects offering Coast Salish cultural events and education led by local First Nations artists and Knowledge Keepers. She is responsible for two Coast Salish house posts designed, carved and raised in ceremony and is in the process of coordinating Port Moody’s third National Indigenous Peoples Day event. She has produced three festivals, including the "Welcome Post Project", "Stawk: Water is Life", and "Xapayay: Tree is Life" online festival and art show. This past year,Tasha collaborated with Kwikwetlem and Tsleil Waututh Nation to create the first two of five posts she hopes to raise along Port Moody’s iconic 2.5 km Shoreline Trail. These posts will create a path of healing along the water and reignite the stories and songs of the Coast Salish Nations who have been caring for this land long before it was known as Port Moody.

Justine A. Chambers is a dance artist living and working on the unceded Coast Salish territories of the Squamish, Musqueam and Tsleil-Waututh Nations. Her movement based practice considers how choreography can be an empathic practice rooted in collaborative creation, close observation, and the body as a site of a cumulative embodied archive. Privileging what is felt over what is seen, she works with dances that are already there –the social choreographies present in the everyday. She is Max Tyler-Hite’s mother.

The anchors of Justine A. Chambers movement based practice are found in collaborative creation, close observation, and the idea of choreography as living archive. She is concerned with a choreography of the everyday; with the unintentional dances, as she describes them “that are already there.” Her recent choreographic projects include: and then also this, One hundred more, tailfeather, for all of us, it could have been like this, ten thousand times and one hundred more, Family Dinner, Family Dinner: The Lexicon, Semi-precious: the faceting of a gemstone only appears complete and critical; Enters and Exits and COPY.

Olivia C. Davies
Olivia C. Davies is a Vancouver-based performer, choreographer, and community-arts facilitator of Ojibwe, Finnish, French Canadian, and Welsh heritage. Her practice has intrinsic ties to feminist politics and social justice and explores the emotional and political relationships between people and places.
Davies’ choreography transmits narrative. She has collaborated with Canadian spoken word artists Julie Peters (I Want, 2018) and Melissa Frost (Gidaashi, 2019), and with award-winning author Carmen Aguirre to adapt the short story Open Fire (2015). Davies combined forces with celebrated Coast Salish storyteller Rosemary Georgeson to create Crow’s Nest and Other Places She’s Gone (2017) exploring the shifting landscapes of refuge and dispossession experienced by Indigenous women. Directions (2018) was a site-specific activation of a residential property in East Vancouver that subverted the traditional view of audience/performer and was inspired by elements of the architectural design evident and the unseen forces of the natural world.
Davies’ works traverse boundaries and challenge social prejudice, conveying concepts and narratives that open different ways to see and experience the world. She is a founding member of the Circadia Indigena Aboriginal Arts Collective, Crow’s Nest Collective, and MataDanze Collective (Toronto). Davies is the founding Artistic Director of O.Dela Arts. Her work has been presented across Canada in Ontario, Quebec, and BC since 2004.

Michelle Olson is a member of the Tr’ondëk Hwëch’in First Nation (Yukon) and the Artistic Director of Raven Spirit Dance. She studied dance at the University of New Mexico with Bill Evans (contemporary) and Andrew Garcia (Pueblo Social Dances), Banff Centre for the Arts in Aboriginal Dance under the direction of Marrie Mumford and Alejandro Roncerio and furthered her performance training with Full Circle First Nations as an Ensemble member under the direction of David MacMurray Smith and Margo Kane. Through her studies with the Laban/Bartenieff and Somatic Studies International, she received her certification in movement analysis.
Michelle works in areas of dance, theatre and opera as a choreographer, performer and movement coach and her work has been seen on stages across Canada. Selected choreographic credits include Northern Journey(Raven Spirit Dance), Gathering Light (Raven Spirit Dance), Mozart’s Magic Flute (Vancouver Opera), The Ecstasy of Rita Joe (Western Canada Theatre/National Arts Centre), Death of a Chief (Native Earth Performing Arts/National Arts Centre), Ashes on the Water (Neworld Theatre/Raven Spirit Dance) and Evening in Paris (Raven Spirit Dance). Kimberly Stevenson:
Kimberly earned a diploma from Alberta’s Grant MacEwan College and a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from British Columbia’s Simon Fraser University.
Kimberly is a professional dance artist who continues to seek training and performance opportunities. She has trained under Hofesh Shechter Company in London England and under Batsheva Dance Company in Tel Aviv Israel participating in extensive workshops involving training in Gaga technique and learning company repertoire. Kimberly has had the honour to perform professionally for Serge Bennathan, Tara Cheyenne Friedenberg, Gail Lotenberg, Daisy Thompson, Katie DeVries, Kokoro Dance Theatre, Rob Kitsos, Shauna Elton, Deanna Peters, and Kate Franklin. For three seasons in a row she has been the choreographer for The Vancouver Canadians Grounds crew and was the choreographer for the East Van Panto: Snow White & the Seven Dwarves in 2017.
Kimberly opened up her own dance studio in 2013 located in East Vancouver, The Happening Dance Company, and looks forward to continually sharing her joy in movement to others.

CHEEN (Cherine Amr) is an Egyptian guitarist, singer and songwriter. She was born and raised in Alexandria and started singing at the age of 6. When she was 18, she got interested in rock and metal music which motivated her to learn the guitar. At the age of 19, she started writing her own songs and formed the first female metal band in the Arab world, MASSIVE SCAR ERA [MASCARA].
The Egyptian director, Ahmad Abdalla heard one of her solo pop rock songs “Ab3ad Makan” and featured it in the Egyptian film Microphone (2011), starring Khaled Abol Naga, Menna Shalaby, and Youssra El-Lozi. After the success of the song, more audience got interested in her music, so she formed her solo band, CHEEN, and released an album under the name “3ALAM TANY”.

Justine A. Chambers is a dance artist living and working on the unceded Coast Salish territories of the Squamish, Musqueam and Tsleil-Waututh Nations. Her movement based practice considers how choreography can be an empathic practice rooted in collaborative creation, close observation, and the body as a site of a cumulative embodied archive. Privileging what is felt over what is seen, she works with dances that are already there –the social choreographies present in the everyday. She is Max Tyler-Hite’s mother.

The anchors of Justine A. Chambers movement based practice are found in collaborative creation, close observation, and the idea of choreography as living archive. She is concerned with a choreography of the everyday; with the unintentional dances, as she describes them “that are already there.” Her recent choreographic projects include: and then also this, One hundred more, tailfeather, for all of us, it could have been like this, ten thousand times and one hundred more, Family Dinner, Family Dinner: The Lexicon, Semi-precious: the faceting of a gemstone only appears complete and critical; Enters and Exits and COPY.

About Melanie:
Melanie Yeats (she/her) is a theatre maker living on the unceded territories of the the xʷməθkwəy̓əm (Musqueam), Skwxwú7mesh (Squamish), and Səl̓ílwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations.
Melanie has been fortunate to work for more than 20 years in the performing arts community and holds a BFA in Theatre Performance from Simon Fraser University.
As an artist, she has worked with a broad range of BC-based companies, such as Upintheair, Neworld, Mainly Dance, Joe Ink, Boca del Lupo, and Pi Theatre, collaborating on many new works, including interdisciplinary projects with theatre, dance, and music artists.
New to playwrighting, she is hard at work on her first full-length play, a cabaret currently titled Honey, an excerpt of which she presented at Indie Opera Week in 2019. Previously, she collaborated on several successful original cabaret performances, the most recent being Fever Cabaret, working with playwright Cory Philley and composer Joel DeStefano.
Melanie also works as an arts administrator, currently as Operations Manager at Playwrights Theatre Centre, previously with Gateway Theatre, Shadbolt Centre for the Arts, and Firehall Arts Centre. She is also proud to chair the board of directors for Universal Limited Performance.
