Project Audion Episode 29: 1984
Larry Groebe and Project Audion return with an hour-long dramatization of George Orwell's Nineteen Eighty-Four...which was originally produced in August 1949, just a few months after the book was released to great acclaim. NBC University Theater adapted this scathing vision of our possible future world, one where "Freedom is Slavery" and "Big Brother is watching you." Big Brother is a part of our cultural currency now, but in 1949 this was a new and daring novel, and this early audio adaptation feels fresh - and still terrifying. (And still more than a bit relevant.)

Adventure Trail: Demon an' Pithypuss
It's episode two of ADVENTURE TRAIL: "Demon an' Pithypuss" -- and this time our host, The Old-Timer, brings us another "all-true" cowboy story involving two ranch-hands, long-time friends, who have a falling out over the words to a song. One sings it one way, the other sings it another way, and sparks fly, threatening the outcome of an upcoming rodeo – and it's up to the Old-Timer and the other cowboys to find a way to bring them back together so they can win the roping contest! It's more audio fun from producer Pete Lutz and the Narada Radio Company. [NOTE FOR DAVID: "Pithypuss" is pronounced PITH-ee-puss (as in "Puss in Boots").]

Project Audion Episode 27: The Jack Benny Show
Larry Groebe and Project Audion are back with a premiere is our second new Jack Benny show written for us by Robert L. Mills, former comedy writer to Bob Hope. In this show he's paired Jack with guest stars Bing Crosby and W. C. Fields and all the Benny's regulars... and aside from the fact that such a match-up never happened in real life, the material is so funny and so much like a vintage Benny show, you can easily be forgiven for thinking we've unearthed a lost episode.

Old-Time Radio Essentials is back with episode 28, AKA the 3rd episode of Season 3! This is a PG-rated installment, and not only for that awkward title! The boys get a little blue, so send the kids off to bed before you listen to this one. As always, it's a rollicking discussion of the merits of the series, and the episode in question; or in this case, the lack thereof – but we don't want to give too much away. Listen and enjoy!
