Courtney Ripoll-McBride
Hey Everyone! I am Courtney Ripoll-McBride! I am the host of Ripollsworkshop Reads.
I love to read and now average a book a day. It has not always been this way though. I did not really start to read until around the third grade when I struggled my way through the first Harry Potter Book. After I got into that series it evolved and I now read all different types of books.
We started this podcast to help share the love of reading and embrace YOUR escape through reading.
We have some amazing authors lined up for Author Interviews already. Special Guests and weekly mini-episodes and so much more are in the works.
We are launching on November 10th, 2022 if you are interested in being on the podcast or want a say in books featured on our mini episodes check out our website… specifically the About page where you can find links to our forms…….we will link to the website in the show notes
We look forward to hearing from you!
Happy Reading & Writing!

Author Interview with Justin Germain
Author BioDemitrios Lopez is a lecturer of both Ancient Greek and Latin. He lives with his beautiful daughter and puppy dog in Texas. Demitrois grew up in the 80s. As a child, he loved He-Man and the Masters of the Universe. In fact, book I of the Σ Series began as He-Man fan fiction. As he grew, Demitrios lost himself in the Conan the Barbarian stories of Robert E. Howard. Seeing 1982’s Conan the Barbarian film had a major impact on his love of genre fiction. Later, Braveheart inspired him to be a student of history. As an undergraduate, someone handed Demitrios a copy of Steven Pressfield’s Gates of Fire. That book changed the course of his life. Those who know the writers and films mentioned above can easily see their influence on the Σ Series. Follow the Σ Series in Book I: Thumos Rising, and Women of the Red Sky, a short story set in the world of the Σ series, although not directly related. Book II: Thumos Furens is coming in early 2025. Author Interview with Andrew W. Pearson
Author BioANDREW PEARSON was born in Pakistan, grew up in Singapore, and was educated at boarding schools in both England and America. With a degree in psychology from UCLA, Pearson has had a varied career in IT, marketing, mobile technology, social media, esports, and entertainment. In 2011, Pearson relocated to Hong Kong to open Qualex Asia Limited, bringing its parent company's experience into the ASEAN region. In 2016, Pearson started Intelligencia Limited, a leading implementer of AI, analytics, BI, CX, data integration, digital marketing, social media and cloud solutions for the gaming, casino, finance, hospitality, sports betting, and retail industries. Pearson is currently working on projects in countries such as India, Hong Kong, Macau, Singapore, Mexico, the Philippines, and Australia. Pearson has also leveraged Intelligencia's expertise to implement software solutions at some of the world's biggest casino operators, lottery companies, gaming companies, and sports books. While working in Hollywood, Pearson optioned and adapted the novels Open Water, The Sunday Macaroni Club, The Jukebox Queen of Malta, and Scavenger Reef, attaching such talented directors as Kevin Hooks, Fraser Heston, Mark Lester, Diane Ladd, and Jorge Ramirez-Suarez to his projects. Pearson's script for The Sunday Macaroni Club was a Quarter-Finalist in the 2004 Zoetrope Screenwriting Competition and The Flirting Game was selected as a Finalist in the Fourth Screenplay Search Competition. In 2009, two books that Mr. Pearson edited appeared in print; the first in the Double Down on your Data series, Clive Pearson's How Analytics is Revolutionizing the Casino Industry and Santiago Maggi's Investment Strategies for Uncertain Markets, a book about the financial markets that presciently predicted the 2007 global financial meltdown. In 2017, Pearson published The Predictive Casino, a book about how analytics should be used in the casino industry. This was followed by other books in the Predictive series, The Predictive Sports Book, The Predictive Retailer, The Predictive Airliner, with others soon to follow. Pearson has also written a series of books detailing how AI can be used in various industries. The books include The A.I. Sports Book, The A.I. Hotelier, The A.I. Retailer, The A.I. Casino, The A.I. Cruise Line, and a general book on A.I. in advertising called The A.I. Marketer. In July 2023, Pearson's first novel, The Dead Chip Syndicate was traditionally published by Brother Mockingbird Publishing. An early reviewer said, "The Dead Chip Syndicate reads like a Hollywood Blockbuster, powered by unstoppable action, exotic locations, and a diverse cast of characters willing to kill to get rich, or die trying. Imagine Las Vegas plonked on the lip of China, and that's Macau, as rich in desperate hustlers, beautiful escorts, and cut-throat businessmen as Sin City ever was. If you've been to Macau, you'll recognize the city in this book; if you haven't, you're in for a thrilling introduction."Pearson is also a noted columnist, writing on topics such as analytics, mobile media, social media, and cloud technology for such publications as The Journal of Mobile and Social Media Marketing, The Journal of Applied Marketing Analytics, ComputerWorld HK, and The Mobile Marketer. Pearson is also a member of the editorial board of the Journal of Mobile and Social Media Marketing, as well as the president of the Advanced Analytics Association of Macau. Pearson is also a VP of the Macau Grow uP eSports Association in Macau and has been part of the producing team that created the award-winning Girl Gamer Festival in both Macau, Lisbon, and Dubai. Pearson sees esports as a way to reach the coveted Millenial demographic, especially in China. An avid traveler, Pearson is a sought-after speaker, lecturing on such disparate topics as AI + ML, casino and mobile marketing, data analytics, social media and interactivity. If he's not pounding the pavements of Hollywood, he's probably meandering through the labyrinthine streets of Hong Kong's Lang Kwai Fong, or tearing up useless betting slips at Happy Valley (perhaps the most perfectly named racecourse in the world (for some)), or dining at a hawker center in Singapore, or wandering through tall safari grasses in South Africa, or grabbing some lechon at a bustling outdoor food market in Manila, or doubling down at the gaming tables in Macau. Basically, Pearson's trying to find the next great story that the world doesn't yet know that it desperately wants to see...Connect with Andrew PearsonWebsite

Author Interview with Kale Sudhoff
Author BioMy name is Kale Sudhoff and I am currently 19 years old and busy attending college and working as an Enrichment teacher at a local Preschool. I am a typical teenager hanging out with friends, but in my free time I loves to write and illustrate children’s books. I have written and illustrated three children’s books. In the Fall of 2020, when I was a Sophomore in High School, I released my first book, Danny the Duck Heads South, and in the Spring of 2022, when I was a Junior in High School, I released my second book, Danny and Kevin Conquer Camping. Throughout my school years, I have seen kids being excluded for being different or having a disability, so I wanted Danny and Kevin Conquer Camping to raise awareness for Limb Loss and Limb Difference. My latest book, Stewart H. Quills and His Explosive Emotions was released in the Fall of 2023. I am on a mission to inspire children to thrive, regardless of their challenges. I am currently working on my next book to raise awareness for Hearing Loss. A portion of every book sale is donated to The Aktion Club, a local organization for people with disabilities. I am going to college to become an Elementary Education teacher and also hope to continue to pursue my passion of writing and illustrating children's books.Connect with Kale SudhoffWebsiteTimestamps00:15 Introduction00:40 What are your books about?3:56 What inspired you to write your books?6:50 Who is your book for?8:33 How long have you been writing and what made you really sit down and start?10:54 What do you need in your writing space to help you stay focused?11:44 Do you have a favorite writing snack or drink?12:04 What type of books do you personally enjoy reading?12:52 Are there any books or writers that inspired you to become an author?13:22 What books did you grow up reading, did you have an all-time favorite?13:43 Now as an adult do you have any favorite series or authors?14:16 What advice would you offer to someone just starting to read again?14:50 What would you tell someone just starting to write their own book?16:55 Where is the best place for readers to connect with you?

Author Bio:Serra Wildheart is an author and co-founder of Scribe Hive Publishing LLC. Her experience spanned industries from Tech to Wine until the call to write spoke louder than the rest. Serra brings the heart of experience — success, grief, joy, and picking up the pieces when it all crashes down — and alchemizes it to soul stories. She loves exploring and credits her travels to Peru, Europe, and throughout the United States for coloring her world. But mostly, she writes stories from the heart with the hope to touch your soul. When she is not doing that, she enjoys cooking, hiking, painting, and hanging out with her dogs and beloved DogDad.Serra is actively writing the next two books of the Legends of Star Junction series. Author Interview with Brian Johnson
Author Bio I started in the wellness industry at age seven when I started working out with my dad in our garage. I had my first gym membership at Worlds Gym where I worked out with my older brother when I was in the fifth grade. I was always involved in working out, playing basketball, football and running track. Going into college, I decided to make this my career. I focused on a degree in sports management and biomechanics because my love for the health and wellness field is unquenchable! This led me into 10 years of working my way up the corporate ladder at 24 Hour Fitness. After running training departments for 7 years I figured out what my real goal was, and that is to help people with the quality and quantity of their life by developing an easy to follow health coaching program that helps people with their goals and teaches them to thrive in today’s busy-fast paced life. I entered the corporate wellness market with a simple plan that anyone can follow. Through education, accountability, compassion and tough love, I teach people and businesses an easy to follow plan with the components: ‘Air, Water, Food, Consciousness & Sleep’. These components can be implemented at any point in time, right there on the spot. Understanding the powerful impact that each component has can and will make a potentially dramatic impact on the wellbeing of the individual as well as the business.Connect with Brian JohnsonAmazonFacebookWebsiteTimestamps00:15 Introduction1:18 What is your book about?3:32 What inspired you to write your book?4:20 Who is your book for?5:00 How long have you been writing?5:42 What was your schedule like when you were writing your book?6:28 What do you need in your writing space to help you stay focused?6:50 Do you have a favorite writing snack or drink?7:52 What type of books do you personally enjoy reading?8:59 Are there any books or authors that inspired you to become an author?9:50 What books did you grow up reading?10:23 Now as an adult do you have any favorite series or authors?11:13 What would you tell someone just starting out reading again?12:29 What sort of advice would you give someone just starting to write their own book?13:44 Any additional comments?14:57 Where is the best place for readers to connect with you?

Author Interview with Joanne Greene
About Joanne GreeneA product of 1950s and ’60s Brookline, Massachusetts, where the butcher and tailor shared the block with a deli and two Chinese restaurants, Joanne was repeatedly told that little girls should be seen and not heard. Yeah, right. Her adventurous spirit led her to study theater at Northwestern and creative media at Emerson before diving headfirst into San Francisco radio and television, where she hosted and produced award-winning feminist and other timely features and talk shows for decades, while working to main- tain the perfect marriage and be an exemplary parent. In her debut memoir, By Accident, a freak, traumatic accident set Joanne on a journey of discovering that her true power would come in the still moments, the moments when she loosened her grip and even allowed herself to crack, finding beauty and possi- bility in her fragility. By Accident is a story about discovering that control is a seductive illusion and how letting go of the need for it can reveal great strength and lead us to even firmer ground.Today Joanne writes and podcasts from her home in Marin County, California, where she lives with her husband since 1980 and their damn near perfect goldendoodle, Moxie. Both sons and two grandkids are thriving in Los Angeles.Connect with Joanne GreeneWebsiteTimestamps00:15 Introduction1:18 What is your book about?4:47 What inspired you to write your book?5:58 Who is your book for?7:38 How long have you been writing and what made you really start?9:55 What was your schedule like when you were writing your book?12:32 What do you need in your writing space to help you stay focused?13:17 What is your favorite writing snack or drink?13:53 What type of books do you personally enjoy reading?15:11 Are there any books or authors that inspired you to become an author?16:26 What books did you grow up reading?16:59 Now as an adult do you have a favorite series or author?17:58 Do you have any advice for someone just starting to read again?19:07 What sort of advice do you have for those starting to write their own book?23:18 Where is the best place for our listeners to connect with you?
