RIP a Livecast #101 - Fat Lizard 3 Hour Special w/Oderus Urungus of GWAR In The Studio
What an episode of RIP a Livecast this was! We kicked things off with Rob describing a stoned excursion to buy clothes for the metal cruise, which we then spent a good amount of time talking about. Rob and Noa discussed what they are looking forward to and then predicted what sort of live blogging they would be doing. (Sidenote: We will be liveblogging from the cruise all next week.) After that we spent some time discussing a procedure Noa is considering. We took a music break and returned with a new soundbite that Sid and 3D discovered of Rush Limbaugh and it was immediately inducted into our Soundbite Hall of Fame, by which we mean we played it for 10 minutes straight with other soundbites. It was awesome. We spent some time discussing Nergal's recent recovery and how what a typical day in his life is like nowadays. We then listened to some music from Nergal's current girlfriend, Doda. Up next was a Livecast Metal News Update. Somehow that spawned a conversation about the ethnicity of Alex Skolnick.Following the second music break, we were joined by the one and only Oderus Urungus of GWAR. To say Oderus was incredibly intoxicated would be a huge understatement. It began with twenty minutes of complete randomness that made very little sense. It was weird and hilarious. Once the dust settled, Dave Brockie started telling us some great stories of seeing Courtney Love shoot up in the Eighties, playing the Gathering of the Juggalos, growing up in the DC hardcore scene (including incredible stories of his experiences with the likes of Henry Rollins & Ian MacKaye), the death of the hardcore scene, and so much more. If you have ever listened to the Livecast and enjoyed what you've heard, then THIS is the segment for you. Here is this week's playlist:Nachtmystium – Blood Trance FusionDecrepit Birth – Solar ImpulseThe Secret – Death AliveBetween the Buried and Me – AlaskaBaroness – CoeurGWAR – Sick Of YouBehold… The Arctopus – AlcoholocaustCephalic Carnage – Divination & ViolationArsis – Forced To RockComplete Failure – Like Rainbows In GasolineSepultura – Refuse/ResistBeneath The Massacre – Societys Disposable SoCaltrop – The Phlogiston CommandLong Live the Smoking Gun – Pure Blood Would Probably Kill YouWe are off the air next week due to going on the metal cruise, but we'll have a really cool mixtape for you, so tune in. RIP a Livecast #100 - One Hundred Episodes, Zero Class (w/Greg Puciato of DILLINGER ESCAPE PLAN and Greg & Gunface of THE RED CHORD)
On this very momentous 100th edition of RIP a Livecast, we were joined by some very special guests. We started the show talking about the recent shooting in Arizona. Sean then told us about his recent experiences doing jury duty. About a half hour into the show, we had our first guest on the show, Greg Puciato of The Dillinger Escape Plan, who answered a wide range of questions about working out tips, Dave Mustaine stories and some very revealing info about his and Dillinger's future plans. We took a music break and were joined by two of the world's greatest men, Greg Weeks and Gunface of The Red Chord who talked even less about metal than Greg Puciato. Gunface had some problems with his phone which were eventually resolved, but they eventually talked about their jingles, Gunface's new career as a voiceover artist, Greg selling his beard and much more. After the call, we heard our first news report from our new correspondent "The Ripper" before ending the show with two classic bits. Here is this week's playlist:The Dillinger Escape Plan – Room Full Of EyesHarvey Milk – We Destroy the FamilyBig Business – Hands UpVision Divine – The Killing Speed Of TimeHellnation – Not Smooth JazzBlack Flag – Fix MeSlayer – Guilty Of Being WhiteDon't forget to join us next week for our extended THREE HOUR special edition of the Livecast from 8 to 11pm eastern, featuring very special guest Oderus Urungus aka Dave Brockie of GWAAARRRRRR sitting in the studio. Click Here To Watch The VideoThis Week's Behind The ScenesWe begin the show with Noa talking about some Wikipedia trolling she experienced over the weekend. We then talked about our New Year's Eve. Rob told a story about throwing his first party. We then got a call from Josh in PA who made us start listening to Monster Ballad commercials. Then, GoregrindWalugi called in and painfully serenaded us with a ballad. Afterwards, we speak to Shlomo, who told us about a pretty gross porn site and then was distracted by his mother who kept asking who was on the phone. Shlomo also let us know his mother thinks we're pedophiles. How nice of her! After the music break, we went over some of the categories and nominations for the 2nd annual Livecast Awards. We concluded the show with Thrash It or Trash It featuring music from Altess, Evil Dear, The Roman Holiday, and Dismissed. RIP a Livecast #98 - DeCox [UPDATED]
This edition of RIP a Livecast happened during the great snowpocalypse of 2010. Sid was unable to make the show and 3D made it just a few minutes into the show. We all shared stories about how much we hate the snow. Sid eventually called in, and we also got a great call from Evan in Norway who was hanging out with Thor Shredsteen evidently. Rob then mentioned how he fulfilled his promise to Sean that he would get laid before the end of the year, which the rest of the crew asked him about. We then got a call from a dude in Australia who told us a story about being kicked out of the backstage area of a Megadeth show. After the music break, we played a new Shlomo tribute by Groban, and then get Shlomo's opinion on it. We concluded the show discussing how long we've gone without taking a shower. RIP a Livecast #97 - Self-Savatage With A Portable Massager
On this pre-Christmas edition of RIP a Livecast, Sean didn't even say a word! But Rob, 3D, Noa and Sid just couldn't shut up. We began the show listening to a new tune from the "Rent Is Too Damn High" party leader Jimmy McMillian. We then stumbled into a fantastic conversation about masturbation and watching porn at young ages. We each recalled stories about teen self-discovery. The conversation somehow morphed into a talk about golden shower porn and then fight porn. In the second hour, we discuss Mike Portnoy trying to rejoin Dream Theater, Fat Mike's recent tweets about Megadeth and we find the new Christmas classic tune from an old friend. We concluded the show with a new user submission and some OG hip hop. RIP a Livecast #96 - Vegetarian Dolphin
This week, Rob, 3D, Noa, Sid and Sean were joined by the extremely talkative Paul from TheApparat.us, who dropped some controversial bombs on the rest of us. At the start of the show, we heard what Rob's goatee sounds like when it's mic'd. We then talked about Sean's new tattoo, which you can see to your right. We received calls from junkies in Australia, India and a British sounding dude from Arizona proving we are an international Livecast. We spent some time on circumcisions. Also, a girl from California revealed way more about her ex-boyfriend that she would have liked to. Then we found out that Sean didn't get his tattoo yet. Later on in the show, The Iron Sheik showed up to rip Sean a new asshole about that, as well as talking about Wiki Leaks and the anniversary of the death of Dimebag Darrell. We play a rousing edition of Porno Mad Libs and end the show with some old classic parodies. We then played the WORST cover of Pink Floyd's "Comfortably Numb" ever. After the music break, we played all of our amazing entries for the Shlomo remix contest. RIP a Livecast #92 - That's Shaveable
This week on the Livecast, we began the show talking about all the broads Sean boned. The talk quickly shifts to Rob meeting some chick at a show, and then the show seemingly morphed into Loveline. Rob then discussed the Suicidal Tendencies show and his opinions on Mike Muir. When we came back for the second hour, Sean had a crazy idea about a new contest that you can read about under the playlist. We then played a special version of Thrash It or Trash It, where each host picked a song and we got Shlomo, Mongoose Commander and Pizza Destroyer to judge the tracks. It came out awesome! We ended the show with a great story about a grandma and a wrestling promoter. RIP a Livecast #89 - Shlomo Singing, The Meaning of Pain
What a return episode we have for you this week which also happens to be our Halloween edition. We started the episode talking about our CMJ show last week and how Rob and Noa met Shlomo in person. Shlomo called in, of course to give you his side of the story. We moved onto Sean telling a story of hanging out at a Chicago bar during the UFC ppv this weekend, and how he was instigating a fight with the meathead fans there. We brought up the Rent Is Too Damn High dude. After the music break, we talked about Noa's recent dance classes. Immediately following that, Shlomo called in and we somehow got him to serenade us with a stunning rendition of "Angel of Death" (or L.M.F.) by Slayer. We closed out the show with a little Thrash It or Trash It playing Al Gore (Is BROOTAL), Unforgiven, Lost Soul, Sirens and Serenades. Also, since this was the Halloween edition, we sprinkled pre-recorded segments with some of your favorite Livecast characters talking about what costumes they are wearing for Halloween! Here is this week's playlist:The Misfits – HalloweenEntombed – Hollywood BabylonColiseum – BulletSnapcase – SheRefused – BulletMarduk – Earth A.D.Integrity – Hybrid MomentsMetallica – Last Caress/Green HellDeadguy – Death Comes RippingOrange Goblin – We BiteSick Of It All – All Hell Breaks LooseThe Misfits – Halloween IISee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.Support the show: http://patreon.com/ripalivecast Hosted on Acast. RIP a Livecast Mixtape #7 - Larry Mustaine's Thor Bath House Merge
It just hit you didn't it? There is no Livecast this week! Rob and Noa are at the CMJ showcase we've been plugging all month. Sid is at another show, 3D is in Atlantic City and Sean is…um, well who knows where Sean is? But, since we weren't here, we compiled another GREAT mixtape. We noticed lately, that we have a lot of new listeners so we decided to make this mixtape a mix of clips from recent episodes and then clips from much older episodes that some of you might have missed. Ultimately, it's just non-stop comedy. Here is what you can expect from this mixtape:– Sean discussing his prostate exams– Larry King singing "Poker Face"– JCVD's commercial for his off-off Broadway show, Death of a Salesman– A reading of Dave Mustaine's autobiography by "Dave Mustaine"– A visit from Santa Clause last Christmas– Rob talking about his visit to a Russian bath house– A call from MI junkie "metalfifa" requesting RED GORD MERGE– Death or No Death III– Thor Shredsteen and his girlfriend Antanella talking about ObamacareSo have a laugh and come back next week for an all new Metal Injection Livecast!See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.Support the show: http://patreon.com/ripalivecast Hosted on Acast. Click Here To Watch The VideoBehind The Scenes footage from our epic adventure on Mount Taurus, which we discussed during the show. This edition of the Livecast will go down in the history books as quite possibly the most obnoxious episode ever. RIP a Livecast Mixtape #6 - Sex, Drugs and Anal Runoff
This mixtape is hosted by 3D, and features a collection of his favorite segments, including a clip from the Livecast Awards show, Jenny talking about her slave boys, another sexy edition of Sexual Jeopardy and a fantastic phone exchange with one of our favorite listeners, Shlomo. We also included a call from Nina where Sid exposes to her how she was conceived. SPOILER ALERT! The Iron Sheik was involved. We then go way back to an early episode to showcase the first time JCVD appeared on the show and throw in a few of our parody commercials as well. We'll be back next week with a brand new episode.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.Support the show: http://patreon.com/ripalivecast Hosted on Acast. RIP a Livecast #77 - DAATH VADER
This edition features a ton of material. We start the show talking about Rob's recent roommate search, moving onto talk of lying about being Jewish, which perfectly segues into our special guest for the show, DAATH guitarist Eyal Levi. Eyal gives us an update on the band's new material and interacts with some callers. Afterwards, we play some exclusive clips from the audiobook version of Dave Mustaine's upcoming autobiography. We end the night playing some great user submissions including a diss track by jumpmanhat. RIP a Livecast #76 - I Have A Certificate
On this edition of RIP a Livecast, we are joined by Vince Neilstein and Axl Rosenberg of MetalSucks. We started the show taking a bunch of callers, some of whom seemed a bit unprepared and others who actually asked insightful questions about the music scene and questions about running sites and running into bands. We then spend some time talking about the Mel Gibson fiasco, played some user submissions and learned about Noa's certificate of internship completion. RIP a Livecast #75 - In Or Around My Mouth
This edition of RIP a Livecast featured an exclusive trailer for Sean's upcoming Fall sitcom Somebody Gonna Get Pregnant. That happened right before the music break. The show starts with a large influx of callers, one of which was a programmer, and possibly our most intellectual caller yet. This was later counteracted by a barrage of stoners bringing things back to normal. Good work guys! We also talked about Mel Gibson's recent tirade, Dave Mustaine's recent quotes, Faith No More playing in Brooklyn and Neil Hamburger opening for them. We ended the show with a 10 minute tangent on stand up comedy. Very exciting. RIP a Livecast #74 - Tangled Dolphin Dick
On this edition of the Livecast, we start off with what Shlomo calls a very immature first hour. It began with us talking about the Human Centipede as well as Toy Story 3. Somehow the conversation morphed into dolphin dicks. We then discussed Rob's experiences at the community pool he just joined. In the second hour, we actually got into a conversation about music, with a talk on the over-gentrification of metal. Immediately after, we got a phone call from Sean's parents as well as a call from a Brit who lives in Arizona. We also heard a few new user submissions. RIP a Livecast #73 - Noa Likes Trunk Jobs [UPDATED]
This Week's Behind The ScenesNoa is back this week and Sean missed the show because he was at a show. We begin the show learning a little more about Noa's trip to Israel. We then discuss a viral video passed around this week called "Homosexuality is a Sin" and joke about the guy, and then bring out the I Love Doritos video clip. Who else wants some Doritos? Noa then discusses how she traded looks with Eminem at Sirius. We play a few new user submissions from Mammoth Commander, Cancerscare and Maigaard. That and the Eminem talk inspired us to play an old comedy bit we did on our college radio show, called 8 Inch. (Disclaimer: Due to some technical difficulties, the calls in the first half of the show were not recorded. Instead, we replaced them with Charlie Brown sound effects)Here is this week's playlist:The Locust – Get Off The Cross, The Wood Is NeededEyehategod – Dixie WhiskeyMelvins – The Water GlassAnthrax – Riding ShotgunSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.Support the show: http://patreon.com/ripalivecast Hosted on Acast. RIP a Livecast #72 - Malaria Blankets (w/Axl Rosenberg of MetalSucks)
This week on RIP a Livecast, we are joined by our brotha from anotha motha, Axl Rosenberg of MetalSucks, who at one point was interrogated by a caller about his love from iwrestledabearonce. Noa was not in the studio, but called in from Israel, telling us some shockingly interesting tales of visiting museums with her family. She will be back in the studio next week. Additionally, we learn more about Sean's nipples, get some new contributions from Cancerscare and a new amazing Livecast/Bolt Thrower mashup from longtime listener Anselm (Blight Worm) which had us laughing so hard we were choking. Plus, we did an all new edition of Thrash It or Trash It judging Locusta, You Suck, Harlequin Ichthyosis, Dark Days, Stigmata BC and Indian band Scribe. RIP a Livecast #71 - Japanese Fanny Pack
This week was the first week since the early beginnings of the show where Noa wasn't a part of it due to other commitments. That's right. This week was a total sausage fest! After a bit of a rough start, Rob, 3D, Sid and Sean got things rolling with talk of jalapeno poppers and then moved to how Rob chews. You can hear his chewing in high quality audio this episode. We also get more calls from Shlomo and a few new callers with not much to say. Then, we get a call from a dude who's sister turned him onto the show, and then the sister showed us her Facebook, and turned us on. Heyo! Cancerscare also submitted a recap of last week's episode and a Sheik/NIN mashup. We also hear our first contribution from MammothCommander. Good times!Normally this is where we include this week's show playlist, but for the first time ever, there was no music break. So all talk for you! RIP a Livecast #70 - Footpussies & Seandoms
"There's a lot of sex on this episode," Darren explained at one point in the show; he was not lying. This week Jenny joins us on the show and we immediately begin talking about Rob's pubes. Somehow the conversation then moves to Jenny's tits and then takes a turn for the hilarious. We somehow end up talking about Rob's favorite porno, Ass Burpers II: Electric Boogaloo. Sean joined the show in the second hour, at which point Jenny tried to get him to take his shirt off. We got a caller from New Zealand; we finally listened to Luke's favorite band on Thrash It or Trash It, Burnt Among The Ashes. This episode may have broken the record for the longest amount of time we play the After Dark music. We learned how Robert spent his mother's day. We learned how magnets work. Sean also thinks Sid is charming. This week the Shlomobile kept on truckin'. While doing a NY Primal Fear ticket giveaway, Shlomo called in to claim the tickets, and we somehow convinced to get his mom on the line to approve the transaction. This may be the greatest call in the history of the Livecast. We got a caller from Denmark, talked about Cynic infiltrating Sid's Anti-Cynic group, a metal cruise trip and more. Also, we did another stunning rendition of Thrash It or Trash It where we heard the following bands: Ill Disposed, Dawn of Demise, Amarna Reign, Blind Witness, Eddie Kim, a Bulgarian Idol contestant, Enyo Falls, Towers of Veritas, and Vince Shlomi Hooker Beating Experience. Also, Darren apparently is now endorsing Bing, we learn about a 4/20 rally that Jenny attended, we ask Sid and Darren how much they would need to be paid to cross over to the dark side.
