My Take Radio Reborn-Episode 107
Dr. David Reiss was my guest for our 107th episode . Dr. Reiss is a practicing psychiatrist with over 25 years of experience, specializing in adult and adolescent psychiatric care. Dr. Reiss’s visit was not to commit me or to stage an intervention, but to discuss the mental side of professional wrestling. We covered so many different aspects of the wrestling persona that even the most knowledgeable fan will be left in awe over the amount of creative and mental energy required to create a successful persona. Dr. Reiss gave us his opinion on the deaths of both Chris Benoit and Chris Kanyon; an opinion with such a different perspective that, when heard, will allow fans to see that various triggers can influence (and in some cases cause irreparable damage) to even the strongest athletes. I am extremely grateful that Dr. Reiss stopped by and gave the listeners a glimpse into this seldom discussed aspect of pro wrestling.LinksFollow Dr. Reiss on TwitterDr. Reiss’s official site- DMR DynamicsDr. Reiss also does work with the Cauliflower Alley Club educating wrestlers not only in the psychology of athlete/fan interactions but also in the psychological reactions of fan to heels, babyfaces and turns. You see some of the work he’s done on his official site.

My Take Radio Reborn-Episode 105-Cameron Conaway
On this weeks episode of MTR I had the pleasure of speaking to mixed martial artist and author Cameron Conaway. Cameron stopped by to discuss his upcoming memoir Caged: Memoirs of a Cage-Fighting Poet which will be available in September. In speaking with Cameron we learned about his upbringing and how certain instances in his life shaped the nature of his memoir. Besides talking about the book we got some insight into the training in Thailand and how it differs from the more structured setting here in the states. I felt a kinship with Cameron due to some of the hardships he experienced while growing up and how he took those situations and adapted them into positives which is something I can relate to on multiple levels. Cameron is currently in Thailand documenting his journey for What’s Your Fight.com. MTR would like to thank Cameron for stopping by and giving us not only a glimpse into his professional life but into his personal life as well.
