Episode 106: Pool & Electrical Products (PEP) with Scott Keck and David White

Episode 106: Pool & Electrical Products (PEP) with Scott Keck and David White

In this episode, we had the opportunity to sit down with Pool & Electrical Products (PEP) Sales Manager Scott Keck and First Choice Product Manager David White. We had a great conversation about how PEP was started and how it has developed into what it is today. Scott and David share with us what makes PEP stand out and how to this day, their goal is to fulfill every order to 100%. That process takes adequate inventory and the guys explain to us how PEP works very hard to make that happen. We were very impressed with their inventory when we visited the North Phoenix Branch, especially the amount of electrical and gas products they had on hand. This makes PEP a one-stop-shop for every project in the pool industry.   David tells us how the First Choice Brand of chemicals and products came about and what the selection process looks like when choosing what becomes a part of the product line. Overall, both PEP and First Choice are customer-service driven and strive to give you the consumer the best experience possible. If you are interested in doing so, we also discuss how to set up an account and find the training that PEP offers. We were excited to have both Scott and David in the studio and look forward to a time when we can attend a PEP day. If you have not done so already, we encourage you to check out a branch in your area and see what they have to offer.     PEP Links:  If you enjoyed this episode, check out the photos, show notes, all the links referenced, and follow PEP by going to the episode webpage:https://poolchasers.link/web-pwu-106    Sponsor Links: Pentair: https://poolchasers.link/pentair-pwu-106  Anderson Manufacturing Company: https://poolchasers.link/anderson-pwu-106    You can follow Pool Chasers below:    Website: https://poolchasers.website/about-pwu

Episode 105: What to Look for When Partnering with a General Contractor or Pool Builder with Brad Leavitt, Jeromey Naugle, and John Martese

In this special episode, we sat down with Brad Leavitt of AFT Construction, Jeromey Naugle of Premier Paradise, and John Martese of On-Demand Design Concepts to discuss what you need to be looking for when aligning yourself with a General Contractor, Pool Designer, or Pool Builder. Each of them has had their own experiences, both good and bad, and have now found each other and respectfully work with one another. They share some of their tactics as well as best practices to finish projects on time and provide the best experience for the client. Communication is key in every aspect of the build and based on the conversation seems to be where the struggles lie when they do arise. Each of them shares their insights as to what they are looking for when partnering up on projects. We knew that if we could get all three of them in a room together, the conversation would be great and we are excited to share it with you!   Brad, Jeromey, and John's Links:  If you enjoyed this episode, check out the photos, show notes, all the links referenced, and follow AFT, Premier, and On-Demand by going to the episode webpage: https://poolchasers.link/web-pwu-105  Sponsor Links:  Pentair: https://poolchasers.link/pentair-pwu-105  Lyon Financial: https://poolchasers.link/lyon-pwu-105  You can follow Pool Chasers below:    Website: https://poolchasers.website/about-pwu  Instagram: https://poolchasers.social/ig-pwu  Facebook: https://poolchasers.social/fb-pwu  FB Group: ht

Episode 104: The Carbon Fiber Pole that Challenges the Industry Standard with Joe Sr, Joe Jr, and Ben of Primate Pool Tools

In this episode, we sat down with Joe Sr, Joe Jr, and Ben of Primate Pool Tools. They are the creators of the industry’s first carbon fiber pool pole. Have you seen this next generation of pool service poles yet? Maybe you have seen the gorilla at a trade show or on social media and wondered what it was all about. Well, that is the mascot for the Primate 3x premium carbon fiber pool pole that has raised the bar for pool cleaning equipment. Your pool pole is the most important piece of equipment you own. It is the key component in netting, brushing, and vacuuming. Primate understands that, and with 30 years of experience in the pool service industry themselves, they designed an ultra-light pool pole with superior strength, performance, and features that make your job easier and more efficient.  Joe Sr. began developing what became the carbon fiber Primate Pole series in 2013 and began selling early versions of the pole in 2014. Today, Primate Pool Tools has developed multiple models of the Primate Pole series as well as a unique extension system. Primate Pool Tools was founded to provide professionals in the pool service industry the option to invest in higher quality tools that hold up in a tough work environment. Their customer service is on point as well, they work hard to build and maintain a positive relationship with all of their clients. We have really enjoyed getting to know these guys over the last few years and we know you will enjoy their story as well.    Primate Pool Tools Links: If you enjoyed this episode, check out the photos, show notes, all the links referenced, and follow Primate by going to the episode webpage here: https://poolchasers.link/web-pwu-104  Sponsor Links:  Pentair: https://poolchasers.link/pentair-pwu-104  Riptide Pool Vacuums: https://poolchasers.link/riptide-pwu-104  You can follow Pool Chasers below:

Episode 103: Cleaners 101 - Suction Side, Pressure Side, and Robotic Cleaners with John and Brian of Pentair

In this episode, we sat down with John Rotundo and Brian King from Pentair to discuss suction side, pressure side, and robotic pool cleaners. We had a great discussion about each option and how they are designed to work. We also discussed some of the key things that you need to know when dealing with each style. This information can make a world of a difference when communicating with a homeowner, as knowing the terminology can show your professionalism. As discussed in the episode, different parts of the country may favor one pool vacuum or another, but it is good to have an understanding of each one so that when you run into one in the field you will know about it. Episode 102: Google Marketing 101 and Why Your Business Needs It with Lorne Sederoff of SearchKings

Episode 102: Google Marketing 101 and Why Your Business Needs It with Lorne Sederoff of SearchKings

Have you ever asked yourself what is SEO, or what does SEO stand for? Have you heard the term SEM and wondered what exactly is search engine marketing? These are questions we hear often and once had ourselves. It can be difficult to grasp these concepts, so for this special episode of the podcast, we sat down with Lorne Sederoff of SearchKings and we were also joined by Demetra Mandrapilias to discuss these terms. We also jump into a few topics in the big world of Google. The first being how to set up your Google My Business page, the second being how to improve your Google local search results, and the third being the new Google Guarantee option being offered in some industries.    Word of mouth is a good option; and as Lorne says in the podcast “it is a great start” but where do you go from there? If you’re wanting to grow your business, you need to step into the digital age where everyone is searching these days. You need to understand how to show up when someone searches for best pool company near me. You need to understand how google ads work and if they may be a good option for you. What we love about SearchKings is that they offer a flat fee month to month service, which means they know that you need to see results. They know that when you win, they win so they work hard to make sure you are seeing a reward for your investment. If you would like to find out more about how SearchKings can help you grow your business, email them here: [email protected].  You will learn about SEO (Search Engine Optimization), SEM (Search Engine Marketing), Google My Business, Google Local Search, and Google Guarantee.   Search Kings Links: If you enjoyed this episode, check out the photos, show notes, all the links referenced, and follow SearchKings by going to the episode webpage here: https://poolchasers.link/web-pwu-102  Sponsor Links:   Pentair: https://poolchasers.link/pentair-pwu-102  Anderson Manufacturing:

Episode 101: 8 Bad Habits That Are Costing You Money with Eric Knight of Orenda Technologies

Episode 101: 8 Bad Habits That Are Costing You Money with Eric Knight of Orenda Technologies

In this episode, Eric Knight from Orenda joins us again, but this time it is to discuss eight bad habits that are costing you money. We first heard Eric talk about these on a Facebook live that he and Laura put on for Orenda. In that discussion, they laid out 6 habits, and for this discussion, we talk about those but throw in two of our own in the mix as well. After sitting through their FB live conversation, we wished we would have heard these habits years ago as changing a few of them would have saved us money for sure. Many times, when we were looking where we could cut costs to help get through the tighter summer months, we often looked at the big-ticket items, but what we learned over the years was that it was the little items that made the biggest difference. We think that with a few subtle changes you can save yourselves time and money, both of which are pretty valuable when running a business or a route. We always have a good time when we chat with Eric, and this episode was no exception, we had a great discussion and with many laughs along the way.  Orenda Technologies Links:  If you enjoyed this episode, check out the photos, show notes, all the links referenced, and follow Orenda by going to the episode webpage here: https://poolchasers.link/web-pwu-101  Sponsor Links: Pentair: https://poolchasers.link/pentair-pwu-101  Riptide: https://poolchasers.link/riptide-pwu-101  You can follow Pool Chasers below:    Website: https://poolchasers.website/about-pwu  Instagram: https://poolchasers.social/ig-pwu  Facebook: https://poolchasers.social/fb-pwu  FB Group: https://poolchasers.social/fb-group-pwu

Episode 100: Tyler & Greg’s Story - Our Polar Opposite Pasts and How One Moment in Time Formed an Unbreakable Brotherhood

Episode 100: Tyler & Greg’s Story - Our Polar Opposite Pasts and How One Moment in Time Formed an Unbreakable Brotherhood

Episode 100 is here and we can’t believe it! We have interviewed a ton of people over the last few years and while doing so, we have discussed with them how their pasts have shaped who they are today. The background stories are one of our favorite parts of each episode because you can really learn a lot about someone when you understand where they came from and what they have overcome to get to where they are today. So, for this monumental episode, we have decided to flip the script and share our story with you all. Each of us goes back to our roots and discusses our past and how we got to the moment in our life where we crossed paths in our junior year of high school. Our upbringings could not be more opposite as you will hear throughout the episode, but somehow, someway, we found each other and formed an unlikely friendship and brotherhood.   This story was not easy to tell, as we both share some of our most vulnerable moments, insecurities, and struggles, but we wanted to be real with you, so you understand who we are and what we have overcome in our lives. So, we go deep in this one, but we also have many laughs and discuss some of our favorite moments growing up and all the crazy fun times we had together. They say opposites attract and we could not be a better yin and yang example of that. Since we call each other brothers and we don’t look alike, we get asked all the time how that happened and that is hard to tell in a short conversation, so this is the whole narrative. We hope you connect to our story in some way and that it inspires people to not judge a book by its cover but to look past the surface and get to know people for who they really are.   Episode Webpage:  If you enjoyed this episode, check out the photos, show notes, and all the links referenced by going to the episode webpage here: https://poolchasers.link/web-pwu-100  Sponsor Links:  Pentair: https://poolchasers.link/pentair-pwu-100  Primate Pool Tools: https://poolchasers.link/primate-pwu-100  You can follow Pool Chasers below:    Website: https://poolchasers.website/about-pwu

Episode 99: Pentair IntelliCenter Overview with Kevan Cooper

Episode 99: Pentair IntelliCenter Overview with Kevan Cooper

In this episode, we had the pleasure of sitting down remotely with Kevan Cooper who is the Sr. IOT Product Manager for Pentair. We asked Kevan to give us an overview of Pentair’s new flagship automation product the IntelliCenter. We first saw the IntelliCenter control system at a trade show a few years ago and were very impressed, we could tell that Pentair took the time to put together a quality product. We were excited for the touchscreen technology, the over the air updates, and the ability to adapt as the homeowner updates their system. Kevan breaks down each of those with us throughout the episode. We also discuss the difference between the IntelliCenter and Pentair’s other products the EasyTouch and IntelliTouch. One of our favorite things about the product is that Pentair created an IntelliCenter Upgrade Kit that can convert either the EasyTouch or IntelliTouch to an IntelliCenter. We had a great time talking with Kevan and we hope you enjoy the episode.  Pentair Links:  If you enjoyed this episode, check out the photos, show notes, all the links referenced, and follow Pentair by going to the episode webpage here: https://poolchasers.link/web-pwu-99  Sponsor Links:  Pentair: https://poolchasers.link/pentairpartners-web-99  Lyon Financial: https://poolchasers.link/lyon-web-99  You can follow Pool Chasers below: Website: https://poolchasers.website/about-pwu  Instagram: https://poolchasers.social/ig-pwu  Facebook:

Episode 98: Mitch Katz - Land of Elite: Why Systems, Processes, and Coaching are Key to Making Progress

Episode 98: Mitch Katz - Land of Elite: Why Systems, Processes, and Coaching are Key to Making Progress

We had the pleasure of sitting down with Mitch Katz who is the General Manager at Land of Elite and the current President of NESPA. We first met Mitch in Atlantic City at the Pool and Spa Show in 2019 and knew that we had to have him on the show. We were excited that we were finally able to make it happen. Mitch shares his story with us about how he grew up in the family business and he learned from a young age the amount of grit it takes to run a business. After graduating from college Mitch knew he wanted to be involved in the business and has put that college education to use by integrating many new systems and processes. He even shares a few with us during the episode. He also helped start a pool service division for the company which has become successful as well.   Land of Elite is a full service “design and build” company. They take on the whole project, mostly in house, which includes the swimming pool along with other things such as gardens, sidewalks, fences, patios, pizza ovens, and playscape or tennis courts. Pretty much any piece you can think of, they can do for their customers. This is pretty unique, as a lot of other companies would sub those out. They have built and continue to service many high-end elaborate pools over the years. We were very impressed by their portfolio. It was an honor for us to have Mitch on the podcast and we hope you enjoy his story as much as we did.  Land of Elite Links:  If you enjoyed this episode, check out the photos, show notes, all the links referenced, and follow Land of Elite by going to the episode webpage here: https://poolchasers.link/web-pwu-98  Sponsor Links:  Pentair: https://poolchasers.link/pentair-web-98  Riptide: https://poolchasers.link/riptide-web-98  You can follow Pool Chasers below:    Website: https://poolchasers.website/about-pwu  Instagram: https://poolchasers.social/

Episode 97: Pool Openings with Chas Bogardus of Budd’s Pools & Spas

Episode 97: Pool Openings with Chas Bogardus of Budd’s Pools & Spas

In this episode, we sat down with Chas Bogardus of Budd’s Pools & Spas to discuss all things Pool Openings. This is a topic that we are not too familiar with being from Arizona, so we thought it was best to talk to an expert about it. Memorial Day is approaching quickly and we know many of you are starting to open your pools. Budd’s has been around since 1958, so they know what they are doing! Chas shares their process of opening a pool with us as well as some best practices, most common mistakes, and how pool openings can differ with every pool. He believes that a “summerization” customer is an important one because they are choosing to have the company open the pool instead of doing it themselves and that the company should go above and beyond to ensure those customers are properly taken care of.   Budd’s Pools & Spas began with the vision of one man, Herb Budd, Jr. He founded the company fresh out of college in 1958, working side by side with his wife Phyllis. That same year, Budd’s Pools & Spas became a member of the National Spa and Pool Institute, where Herb later served as one of the National Directors. With continued service and dedication, Herb and Phyllis grew Budd’s Pools & Spas to become an award-winning business, highly respected by its peers in the industry. In 1998, Budd’s Pools & Spas became one of 13 pool and spa dealers nationwide to be inducted into the AQUA 100 HALL OF FAME. The Aqua 100 Hall of Fame recognizes companies selected as the top 100 Pool and Spa dealers in the industry for five or more consecutive years.   Budd’s Pools & Spas Links:  If you enjoyed this episode, check out the photos, show notes, all the links referenced, and follow Budd’s Pools & Spas by going to the episode webpage here: https://poolchasers.link/web-pwu-97  Sponsor Links:  Pentair: https://poolchasers.link/pentair-pwu-97  Anderson: https://poolchasers.link/anderson-pwu-97

Episode 96: Industry Crossover - Brian Fullerton: Stop Making Excuses and Put in the Work

Episode 96: Industry Crossover - Brian Fullerton: Stop Making Excuses and Put in the Work

This week we sat down with Brian Fullerton of Brian’s Lawn Maintenance and the Fullerton Unfiltered Podcast. Brian is doing some amazing things in the lawn maintenance space through his popular YouTube channel and now podcast. We wanted to have him on to share his story and talk about what it takes to be successful. This episode is a little more aggressive than normal for us, but it is the kind of episode we get fired up by and similar to podcasts that helped us in our careers. The common theme throughout the episode is that no successful person got there without putting in the work. Nothing great comes without the hustle and grind it took to get there. Wherever you are in your entrepreneurial journey, whether that be 30 years in or just starting out this is an episode you don’t want to miss.   Brian started his lawn care and landscaping business back in April of 2007, with nothing more than a dream and a desire to accomplish more. Stuck in a dead-end job working for a fertilizer company, with little prospects for job advancement and no college degree to fall back on, he decided to go all-in with a business of his own. Safe to say the journey that followed would be one of victories and defeats, successes and failures. But through it all and despite the circumstances, he came out on top with a successful business of his own. Like Brian, you too can become successful by putting in the work. We hope you all are inspired by this one as much as we were!  Brian Fullerton’s Links:  If you enjoyed this episode, check out the photos, show notes, all the links referenced, and follow Brian Fullerton by going to the episode webpage here: https://poolchasers.link/web-pwu-96  Sponsor Links:  Pentair: https://poolchasers.link/pentair-pwu-96  Primate Pool Tools: https://poolchasers.link/primate-pwu-96  You can follow Pool Chasers below:    Website: https://poolchasers.website/about-pwu  Instagram:

Episode 95: Orenda Technologies - Eric Knight: Why You Should Start Using the Langelier Saturation Index (LSI)

Episode 95: Orenda Technologies - Eric Knight: Why You Should Start Using the Langelier Saturation Index (LSI)

We had the opportunity to sit down with Eric Knight of Orenda Technologies to discuss the Langelier Saturation Index also referred to as the LSI. This term may be brand new to you or you may have heard about it in a CPO class or even a start-up class, but it is definitely something that every pool professional should understand. We took one of Eric’s classes a while back and were very impressed with his knowledge of the subject. We knew we had to have him on to describe it the same way to you. We discuss how to calculate the LSI using the following six variables: ph, water temperature, calcium hardness, carbonate alkalinity, cyanuric acid, and total dissolved solids. Eric explains why each one is important and why you should be tracking the LSI on each visit.   Eric works for Orenda Technologies which you may know for their products such as PR-10,000 or CV-600, but they have been stepping up their education game over the last year or so. They have spent thousands of hours creating Orenda Academy and have enhanced their app so that it not only works as a dosing calculator but also functions as a Langelier Saturation Index calculator as well. We encourage you to go through the academy if you haven’t already and attend any webinars or classes that Eric and the Orenda team put on. Knowledge is power and the more you know, the better prepared you are for what is out there in the field.     Orenda Technologies Links:  If you enjoyed this episode, check out the photos, show notes, all the links referenced, and follow Orenda Technologies by going to the episode webpage here: https://poolchasers.link/web-pwu-95   Sponsor Links:  Pentair: https://poolchasers.link/pentair-web-95  Anderson: https://poolchasers.link/anderson-web-95  Primate: https://poolchasers.link/primate-web-95  You can follow Pool Chasers below:

Episode 94: Lyon Financial with Sarah Bess: How to Offer Pool Financing Options to Your Customers

Episode 94: Lyon Financial with Sarah Bess: How to Offer Pool Financing Options to Your Customers

In this episode, we sat down with Sarah Bess who is the Director of Marketing and Dealer Services for Lyon Financial. She jokingly refers to financing as the little “F” word that people throw around, but do not really understand and after recording the episode with her, we agree. As part of the episode, we break down financial terms such as secured and unsecured loans and interest rates so that you can have a better understanding of the topic. This will help you educate your customers when discussing these types of options with them. Swimming pool financing is something that not everyone knows is out there, but they should. It can help with everything from new builds and remodels to equipment sets, pergolas, and even outdoor furniture. As long as the project is over $5,000 there is an option for every type of pool business out there. If we knew this was available when we ran Brothers Pool Service it would have been a no brainer to add to our bid process.   Lyon Financial is all about customer service, they look at it as creating partnerships and are there for you and your customer every step of the way. They offer low-interest rates and long-term loans, and they even have a pool loan calculator right on their website, so your customers can get an estimated monthly payment. With everything going on in the world right now, homeowners will be looking for options to upgrade their backyard experience and you can give that to them. Don’t know where to get started? Don’t worry, we have teamed up with our friends at Lyon to create a custom checklist so that you can become a preferred vendor. Episode 93: Bianchi Design - Kirk Bianchi: Luxury Pool Design Inspired by Art, Architecture, and Photography

Episode 93: Bianchi Design - Kirk Bianchi: Luxury Pool Design Inspired by Art, Architecture, and Photography

In this episode, we sat down with Kirk Bianchi who is the owner of Bianchi Design and whose mission is to transform ordinary backyards into “waterscapes” or custom works of art. Bianchi’s design approach was inspired by a trip he took to Japan as a senior in high school. He was struck by how the Japanese architecture and landscape design integrated and blurred indoor/outdoor spaces in a simple, yet elegant way. It is this approach that makes him unique among conventional pool designers and landscape architects who do not integrate the elements of architecture, landscape, and pool design together. We love his approach of sculpting outdoor living spaces that encourage taking in the moment and quieting the noise.   During the episode, Kirk breaks down how he views the swimming pool design as if he were looking through a photographer’s lens. Taking into account every angle and framing up the pool as if it were the subject of the photo. His designs not only make you stop for a moment to take in the beauty but truly tell a story as you walk through the living art form. We have never heard anyone describe it as he did on the podcast. Whether you are a designer, builder, manufacturer, or service company, you will be inspired by the way Kirk describes what we do and what this industry provides for our clients. We promise, you will never view a swimming pool or outdoor space the same!   Bianchi Design Links:  If you enjoyed this episode, check out the photos, show notes, all the links referenced, and follow Bianchi Designs by going to the episode webpage: https://poolchasers.link/web-pwu-93  Sponsor Links:  Pentair: https://poolchasers.link/pentair-pwu-93  Lyon Financial: https://poolchasers.link/lyon-pwu-93  Merlin Industries: https://poolchasers.link/merlin-pwu-93  You can follow Pool Chasers below:    Website:

Episode 92: COVID-19 Coronavirus: Pool Industry Resources with Sabeena, Janay, and Jennifer of PHTA

Episode 92: COVID-19 Coronavirus: Pool Industry Resources with Sabeena, Janay, and Jennifer of PHTA

In this episode we sat down with Sabeena Hickman, Janay Rickwalder, and Jennifer Hatfield of the Pool and Hot Tub Alliance (PHTA), to discuss their recent efforts in response to the COVID-19 coronavirus crisis. With the number of cases of the coronavirus in the USA increasing, most states have issued some sort of social distancing or shelter in place orders. This has caused a ripple effect that this country has not seen since the world war era and that many were not prepared for. We are all adjusting to changes in some way to the “new normal” of work from home scenarios and at-home learning. Luckily for us, the pool industry has been labeled as an essential service in most areas. Since the beginning, PHTA has been working tirelessly to fight for your right to be deemed an essential business and continues to do so in those areas where that may be unclear.   We discuss their website specifically dedicated to coronavirus updates and resources to help you navigate through these times. On the site, you will see several resource options. 1. State and Local Government Information, here is where you can look for your state and see the most up to date orders. 2. Customer Communications, here you can find customer messaging for essential pool maintenance services with customizable documents. 3. Federal Assistance, here you can find information on the CARES Act among other assistance related resources. 4. Workplace Safeguards, here you can find the CDC recommendations for best practices and the COVID-19 Surface Disinfection Poster. We also dive into some personal and business ideas for you to try and make the most of the situation. This is not your typical coronavirus conversation; this one is tailored to you. You don’t want to miss it!  Guest Links:  If you enjoyed this episode, check out the photos, show notes, all the links referenced, and follow the PHTA coronavirus updates by going to the episode webpage: https://poolchasers.link/web-pwu-92  Sponsor Links:  Pentair: https://poolchasers.link/pentair-pwu-92  Merlin Industries: https://poolchasers.link/merlin-pwu-92  Pool RX:

Episode 91: Structure Studios with Noah Nehlich: Analyzing the Leading 3D Pool Design Software

Episode 91: Structure Studios with Noah Nehlich: Analyzing the Leading 3D Pool Design Software

In this episode, we sat down with Structure Studios founder Noah Nehlich. They are the creators of the industry's leading pool design software Pool Studio and landscaping software VizTerra. Noah’s journey is the true definition of what it is like to be an entrepreneur. It all started with a video game project he created when he was young, through this, he learned that when people can visualize something then they are more likely to buy into the project. With the development of Pool Studio, they opened the eyes of homeowners everywhere by allowing them to see a 3D pool design of the concept they were looking to build in their backyard. Until then, most people were using hand drawings and other versions of 2D designs to show their clients. This new program also empowered designers and builders to create an emotional connection with every presentation they performed.   Structure Studios has since created Vip3D which is a 3D high-end design software and YARD which is an augmented reality app. We had a great conversation about Noah’s incredible journey, the history of Pool Studio, what the software is designed to do, it’s capabilities and features, and how it essentially works. We also discuss the steps to take to get started and what kind of training classes they have available. If you think swimming pool or landscape design is a fit for you, this episode gives you a breakdown of the options that are available starting with a Structure Studios free trial.   Guest Links:  If you enjoyed this episode, check out the photos, show notes, all the links referenced, and follow Structure Studios by going to the episode webpage here: https://poolchasers.link/web-pwu-91  Sponsor Links:  Pentair: https://poolchasers.link/pentair-pwu-91  Lyon Financial: https://poolchasers.link/lyon-pwu-91  Merlin Industries: https://poolchasers.link/merlin-pwu-91    You can follow Pool Chasers below:

Episode 90: 1099 Independent Contractor or W-2 Employee: Breaking Down the Difference with Rich, Javier, and Dustin

Episode 90: 1099 Independent Contractor or W-2 Employee: Breaking Down the Difference with Rich, Javier, and Dustin

This episode threw quite a curveball at us, we were on our way to Long Beach and were prepared to record our final stop of the live tour when we found out that the city was recommending to not have large group gatherings. We decided it was in the best health interest for everyone if we canceled the event. We were pretty bummed about it but we adjusted and changed it to a Facebook Live, as well as an epic podcast episode. We turned our Air BNB into a recording studio and off we went! We sat down with our good friends Rich Gallo of Pure Swim, Javier Payan of Payan Pools, and Dustin Anderson of Precision Aquatics to discuss 1099 Independent Contractors and W-2 Employees. With the new AB-5 Law coming out in California, there have been a lot of questions surrounding this topic and we wanted to shed some light on what it means and how to adjust to it if necessary.   All 3 of the guests, as well as us, have dealt with both independent contractors and employees so during the episode we share our experiences. The overall goal of this podcast was to define each one so that businesses could figure out where they fit into the conversation and help make the transition if necessary. There is a lot of negative talk surrounding this, but we tried to stay positive and make suggestions that will overall make the industry better. When we were running Brothers Pool Service this topic was always being discussed between us and since we started Pool Chasers, it has been one of the most asked for topics. We hope you get a better understanding of it and get as much out of this episode as we did.  Guest Links:  If you enjoyed this episode, check out the photos, show notes, all the links referenced, and follow Rich, Javier, and Dustin by going to the episode webpage here:   www.poolchasers.com/blog-1/90  Sponsor Links:  Pentair: https://poolchasers.social/pentair-web-90  Anderson: https://poolchasers.social/anderson-web-90  You can follow Pool Chasers below:    Website: http

Episode 89: Approaching the Pool Industry Using a Corporate World Mindset with Mike and Jacob of Sparkle & Splash Pool Care

Episode 89: Approaching the Pool Industry Using a Corporate World Mindset with Mike and Jacob of Sparkle & Splash Pool Care

In this episode, we sat down with Mike and Jacob of Sparkle and Splash Pool Care. Mike & his wife Amy started the company in 2007 when they moved from the Bay Area to Tucson, AZ. They started out by purchasing a route of 50 customers and now service over 800 pools weekly. Amy actually took care of the pools for the first 6 months or so. Mike shared with us that he could not have done this without Amy and her continued support. Having that stability and trust at home has allowed him to focus on the business. Now 10 years later Amy is coming back on board and bringing her 30 years of corporate experience which will continue to move the company forward for years to come. Coming from a corporate background, Mike viewed the industry a little different than most. Mike saw that growth was one of the most difficult parts of running a service company, so he adopted a unique strategy of acquiring routes to allow for that growth and provide the infrastructure to create new staff positions such as a service manager which we discuss on the episode.  Over the years as they have grown, they have added additional expertise in pool maintenance management. This has led them to be one of the top leading Pool Service companies in Tucson. One of those key hires was Jacob who Mike wanted to have on with him since he is such a key piece to what they do day in and day out. Jacob has the pool industry in his blood, his father has been in the industry for over 30 years. As a child he and his cousin would talk about wanting to be pool guys when they grew up. Being raised around pools and being taught how to work hard by his dad has turned Jacob into an incredible person and asset for the company. After talking with both of them, we can tell you that Jacob is the person we all dreamed about having on our team. It was an honor to have them in the studio and share their story.   Guest Links:  If you enjoyed this episode, check out the photos, show notes, all the links referenced, and follow Sparkle & Splash Pool Care by going to the episode webpage here: https://poolchasers.link/web-pwu-89  Sponsor Links:  Pentair: https://poolchasers.link/pentair-pwu-89  Pool RX: https://poolchasers.link/poolrx-pwu-89  You can follow Pool Chasers below:

Episode 88: Establishing Core Values and a Clear Company Vision with Michael Erath of The Traction Hub

Episode 88: Establishing Core Values and a Clear Company Vision with Michael Erath of The Traction Hub

In this episode, we sat down with Michael Erath who is the owner of The Traction Hub in Scottsdale, AZ. In the first 15 years of his career, Michael grew two businesses to over 45 million in revenue and over 200 employees. In 2009, the housing market crash, as well as a betrayal from a business partner and his own blind spots, caused him to lose it all. Late in 2010 Michael leveraged all that he had and started a new business. During that process, he was introduced to the book Traction by Gino Wickman and began implementing EOS into the organization. The business grew tremendously and even made the Inc 5000 list in 2015! Since 2015 Michael has been a full-time EOS Implementer where he and his team at The Traction Hub help others through the implementation of EOS.   Not many books have made an impact on the two of us as much as Traction did. We too saw the benefits of implementing the EOS system into our business Brothers Pool Service. When a client referred to the book one day, we both read it and felt like it was talking directly to us! There are 6 major components discussed throughout the book, but for this podcast, we wanted to focus solely on the vision component. This is the section of the book that discusses core values and core focus. Michael tells us why it is so important for the whole team to understand the company’s vision and how once everyone is aligned, it can be something incredible. He also gives advice on how to create your own set of core values and core focus, and how to roll them out to your team. You will definitely want to take notes on this one! This is an episode that you don’t want to miss!  Guest Links:  If you enjoyed this episode, check out the photos, show notes, all the links referenced, and follow Michael Erath by going to the episode webpage here: https://poolchasers.link/web-pwu-88  Sponsor Links:  Pentair: https://poolchasers.link/pentair-pwu-88  Primate Pool Tools: https://poolchasers.link/primate-pwu-88

Episode 87: Leak Detection with Lance and Brad of Anderson Manufacturing Company

Episode 87: Leak Detection with Lance and Brad of Anderson Manufacturing Company

For this episode, we sat down with Lance Anderson and Brad Madison of Anderson Manufacturing Company to discuss all things leak detection. In the late 1940s, Francis Anderson started a radiator repair shop. He later invented rubber expansion plugs to make the leak testing process in radiators easier. In the mid-1980s changes, to the radiator construction and the arrival of replacement radiators cut deeply into plug sales. Francis’ grandson Lance spent some time trying to revive the declining sales, and while doing so, he discovered that several pool companies were actually buying plugs from their local radiator shops to use for pressure testing swimming pool plumbing. By listening to these pioneers, Lance determined that there was an unmet need for both pool professional quality tools and information. This became the company’s new mission, and Lance became driven by helping the pool professional find and fix leaks more efficiently and effectively.   We had the opportunity of going to their factory in Minnesota, where we were able to go through some leak detection training and record this episode with them. Leak detection is a topic that many people have asked for and we believe this episode delivers above and beyond their expectations. During the episode, we discuss symptoms of a leak, what leak detection is exactly, some steps to take to find leaks, and what equipment Anderson offers to help along that process. We love the Anderson team, their culture, and their products, so we are excited for you all to hear this episode. We hope you learn as much as we did!  Guest Links:  If you enjoyed this episode, check out the photos, show notes, all the links referenced, and follow Anderson by going to the episode webpage here: https://poolchasers.link/web-pwu-87  Sponsor Links:  Pentair: https://poolchasers.link/pentair-pwu-87  PoolRX: https://poolchasers.link/poolrx-pwu-87  Register for Pool Chasers Live Tour below:  Website: https://poolchasers.link/tour-87

Episode 86: How Riptide Pool Vacuum Systems Transformed a Market with David & Matt

In this episode, we sat down with David Sargent and Matt Lopez to discuss the Riptide Pool Vacuum System. We really enjoyed this episode because it dives deep into how their idea turned into a product. By embracing feedback from customers, they have taken the original prototype and shaped it over the years to create the best customer experience possible. Being across the table from these guys as they told their story was truly amazing. You could see their eyes light up when they were talking about each little detail that they have invested time and money into perfecting. That sparkle is rare to see, but it shows that David and Matt are truly passionate about what they have built. We promise you have never heard their story told like this before, we hope it inspires you the same way it did us.   Guest Links:  If you enjoyed this episode, check out the photos, show notes, all the links referenced, and follow Riptide by going to the episode webpage here: https://poolchasers.link/web-pwu-86  Sponsor Links:  Pentair: https://poolchasers.link/pentair-web-86  Register for Pool Chasers Live Tour below:  Website: https://poolchasers.link/pc-tour-86  You can follow Pool Chasers below:    Website: https://poolchasers.website/about-pwu  Instagram: https://poolchasers.social/ig-pwu  Facebook: https://poolchasers.social/fb-pwu  FB Group:

Episode 85: LIVE Episode! Lucas Congdon of Lucas Lagoons

Another stop of the live tour is in the books and it was a great one! We had the opportunity to interview Lucas Congdon of Lucas Lagoons. You have probably seen him on the hit TV show Insane Pools Off the Deep End. We were very excited to have the opportunity to sit down with Lucas as we have been fans of the show for a long time. Lucas shared some of his backstory with us and how growing up in Vermont taught him a hard work ethic and gave him his creative spirit, both of which he still uses today. We also discuss how since he was young, he has always tried to be in front of the camera and how he used YouTube to get his shot at a TV show. And of course, we talk about the giant grottos that he is known for!  Learning things in this industry is tough, but learning them on tv with other people watching is even harder. Lucas tells us what it was like in the beginning where he was overbuilding the projects to show off what they could do, even to the point that he didn’t know if the company would survive. He shared several other lessons he has learned along the way since he first started and how he has always overcome obstacles so that he can give the customer a great experience. He even shares some insight about the other members of his team that are on the show. We hope you enjoy the episode as much as we did! Episode 84: Keeping Your Reputation Intact While Continuing to Grow the Business with Tony Arredondo

In this episode we had the opportunity to interview our good friend Tony Arredondo of The Pool Guys of Tampa Bay - Tampapoolpro.com. He has been a big supporter of us from the beginning and we were excited to finally get him on the podcast. Tony is a member of the National Plasterers Council and currently the President of the Florida Swimming Pool Association (FSPA) Tampa Bay Chapter. Tony shared his unique story with us of how he got into the industry. We discussed how the foreclosure market provided him with rapid growth when he first started, so much so that he had to stop taking on new customers at one point to readjust his business strategy. This allowed him to keep his reputation intact, while still providing the customers with the best experience possible. Something we had to do several times while running Brothers Pool Service.  We also had a great conversation about the Tampa group which is an organization he is involved in, which is made up of industry professionals who are experts in different fields. They work with one another to provide their clients with the best customer service possible by making sure the right guy is in the backyard to do each job. This is a great way of coming together to lift the image of the industry and support one another so that everyone is successful. We were very impressed by what they got going on out there in Tampa and think it is something that more of this industry should be open to doing.   Guest Info:  If you enjoyed this episode, check out the photos, show notes, all the links referenced, and follow the Tony Arredondo by going to the episode webpage here: https://poolchasers.link/web-pwu-84  Sponsor Links:  Pentair: https://poolchasers.link/pentair-pwu-84  Anderson Manufacturing: https://poolchasers.link/anderson-pwu-84  Primate Pool Tools: https://poolchasers.link/primate-pwu-84  Register for Pool Chasers Live Tour below:  Website:

Episode 83: LIVE Episode! PHTA President & CEO: Sabeena Hickman

In this episode, we had the opportunity to sit down with the new Pool and Hot Tub Alliance President and CEO Sabeena Hickman. We got to know her better as a person and discussed how her previous role as the CEO of the National Association of Landscape Professionals led her to this new position and how she can use that experience to better the pool and hot tub industry. We also discussed some of the things that the PHTA has accomplished already since the merger, a few of the new hires Sabeena has made, and new programs that may be rolling out in the near future. She did a great job answering many of the industries questions throughout the interview. Sabeena shared her vision for the PHTA with us and we feel that the organization has a bright future with her at the helm.   Guest Info:  If you enjoyed this episode, check out the photos, show notes, all the links referenced, and follow the PHTA by going to the episode webpage here: https://poolchasers.link/web-pwu-83  Sponsor Links:  Pentair: https://poolchasers.link/pentair-pwu-83  Lou: https://poolchasers.link/lou-pwu-83  Register for Pool Chasers Live Tour below:  Website: https://poolchasers.link/tour-83  You can follow Pool Chasers below:    Website: https://poolchasers.website/about-pwu  Instagram: https://poolchasers.social/ig-pwu

Episode 82: LIVE Episode! Hiring and Retaining Employees with Matt & Nick of Gohlke Pools

Episode 82: LIVE Episode! Hiring and Retaining Employees with Matt & Nick of Gohlke Pools

For over 50 years, Gohlke Pools has been a pioneer in family backyard living. Since 1958, when Gene Gohlke built one of Denton’s first family swimming pools, the Gohlke family has been selling swimming pool supplies and offering repairs and weekly cleaning service throughout the region. In 1984, when Matt Gohlke graduated from Texas Christian University, he joined the family business working for Gohlke Pool Supply. In 1992, Matt purchased Gohlke Pool Supply and Gohlke Custom Pools. Matt is currently the President and Nick Day is currently the Service Manager.  We had a great time interviewing them at the Southwest Pool and Spa show. We have wanted to have them on the podcast since the beginning and we're excited that we could finally make it happen. We think they do an incredible job when it comes to hiring, training, and retaining their employees. Our interview with them covers those topics among others. We understand this is one of the industry’s biggest struggles at the moment and we hope this episode gives you a few ideas to help with your business as well.   Guest Info:  If you enjoyed this episode, check out the photos, show notes, all the links referenced, and follow Gohlke Pools by going to the episode webpage here: https://poolchasers.link/web-pwu-82  Sponsor Links:  Pentair: https://poolchasers.link/pentair-pwu-82  You can follow Pool Chasers below:    Website: https://poolchasers.website/about-pwu  Instagram: https://poolchasers.social/ig-pwu  Facebook: https://poolchasers.social/fb-pwu  FB Group: https://poolchasers.social/fb-group-pwu

Episode 81: LIVE Episode! Rondo Pools: Bob & Kevin Rondeau

Episode 81: LIVE Episode! Rondo Pools: Bob & Kevin Rondeau

Stop two of our LIVE tour was in our hometown of Phoenix, AZ and we had the pleasure of interviewing Bob and Kevin Rondeau of Rondo Pools. Bob started the company back in 1983 and it was originally called Pools by Rondo. In 1988, Bob purchased the infamous property on Cave Creek Road so he could build their office and display pool. That move proved to be instrumental as over the next decade, Pools by Rondo became Rondo Pools as well as became one of the valley’s largest and most trusted pool builders. As for Kevin, after graduating from NAU, he started working for the family business. Over the next decade, the second-generation Rondeau would learn every aspect of the business and along with his brother Steven helped grow the business to what it is today. Kevin is now the President and Owner of Rondo Pools.  We had an incredible time with them and for not even knowing what a podcast was, Bob dropped many one-liners throughout the episode that you don’t want to miss. We had many great discussions in the episode, but the theme seemed to be that your employees are your greatest assets and that taking care of them is the only way to have continued success. Through ups and downs, Rondo Pools has proven time and time again that they are one of the best companies in the valley. Their inspiring story is truly the definition of how a family business should be run.    Guest Info:  If you enjoyed this episode, check out the photos, show notes, all the links referenced, and follow Rondo Pools by going to the episode webpage here: https://poolchasers.link/episode-pwu-81  Sponsor Links:  Pentair: https://poolchasers.link/pentair-pwu-81  A&A Manufacturing: https://poolchasers.link/aa-pwu-81  Register for Pool Chasers Live Tour below:  Website: https://poolchasers.link/tour-pwu-81  You can follow Pool Chasers below:

Episode 80: Pentair IntelliConnect Overview, Quick Start Guide, and Setup with Rodney McCall and Brian King

In this episode, we sat down with Rodney McCall and Brian King to discuss the Pentair IntelliConnect. When these first came out we were stoked to be able to have different options for automation. It allowed us to have the chance to automate the one pump, one filter type pools. For us, those were some of the toughest customers to sell automation to because the larger systems may have been outside their price range. It was a game-changer for us at Brothers Pool Service and we know it has been for many companies. As always though, learning a new product can be tricky and we understand that, so we wanted to break it down in a way that can help you get a better grasp of it. We discuss what the IntelliConnect is designed to do, why Pentair chose to develop it, what comes with the product when you purchase it, what can be connected to it, and go through the quick start guide. We also discuss a few tricks on setting up the wireless connection and the new Pentair Home App. We learned several things in this episode so we are excited to share it with you! Episode 79: Behind the Scenes at Aqua Magazine with Scott Webb and Cailley Hammel

In this episode, we had the pleasure of interviewing Scott Webb who is the Executive Editor and Cailley Hammel who is the Managing Editor of Aqua Magazine. A few weeks ago, they flew us up to chilly Madison, WI to visit the Aqua Magazine headquarters where we had the opportunity to tour the building and meet the dedicated people that work on the magazine each month. We learned a lot and had a ton of fun with the team. We get the magazine every month, but we really wanted to see what it takes to push out a new issue each and every month. Seeing and hearing it really makes you appreciate all the hard work that goes into it.  During the interview, we got a behind the scenes look into how everything works. We dove into their 40 years of history, the Aqua Show, some of their classic issues, their goals in the industry, topics they cover and don’t cover, how content is selected, and some of the hot topics going on in the industry today. We also have a great discussion on how the industry has changed over the last few years with people being more willing to share information. Episode 77: Committing to Education is Essential for Success with Tom Sheehy

We had the opportunity to sit down with Tom Sheehy of Crystal Clear Custom Pools which is located in Waxahachie, TX. Tom credits getting educated as to the main reason he has been able to be successful. Like many out there, he stumbled around for the first 3-4 years learning by trial and error which can be very time consuming and costly. Tom discusses how plugging into different associations and taking the time to attend classes gave him the confidence he needed to gain and retain customers.  Tom is the current president of both the North Texas PHTA Chapter and the Waxahachie IPSSA chapter. He also serves on the PHTA National Builders Council and was previously the Vice president of the Southwest Pool and Spa Show. We also discuss this year’s show and Tom shares how attending the trade show helped changed his business and how the education he gained was invaluable. He still remembers a class he took from the first year he attended! Episode 76: CPO License - Why You Should Have it and How to Utilize it to Your Advantage with Katie Crysdale

Episode 76: CPO License - Why You Should Have it and How to Utilize it to Your Advantage with Katie Crysdale

Often the CPO (Certified Pool Operator) certification is overlooked because traditionally it was only needed for commercial pool operators. We sat down with Katie Crysdale of Lakeview Aquatic Consultants LTD to discuss why everyone should consider taking the course whether you service commercial pools or not. Having the license opens up a lot of opportunities, many that you may not have known existed. Katie does a wonderful job explaining some of the options that become available to you once you have the license. We had the opportunity to take the CPO class with Katie while she visited us in August and we learned quite a few things, some of which were brand new to us. We wish we would have taken the class sooner and used it to its full potential while we were running Brothers.  Once you have the license it can be used in so many ways to improve your business. We discuss how to take advantage of the marketing opportunities that it opens up, and how you can advertise it on your website and social media to help differentiate yourself from your competitors. Also, if used correctly it can help you increase your sales and credibility. Please don’t overlook this “piece of paper” as some people call it, just because you heard it isn’t required. Take the time to look into getting certified today and invest in yourself and your team to expand your knowledge.  Guest Info: If you enjoyed this episode, check out the photos, show notes, and all the links to follow Katie and Lakeview Aquatic Consultants by going to the episode webpage here: https://poolchasers.link/website-pwu-76 Sponsor Links: Pentair: https://poolchasers.link/pentair-pwu-76 Ledge Lounger: https://poolchasers.link/ledge-pwu-76 Rate & Review the Podcast Apple: https://poolchasers.link/apple-podcast-pwu Register for Pool Chasers Live Tour below: Website: https://poolchasers.link/tour-pwu-76 You can follow Pool Chasers below:   Website: https://poolchasers.website/about-pwu Instagram: https://poolchasers.social/ig-pwu Facebook: https://poolchasers.social/fb-pwu FB Group: https://poolchasers.social/fb-group-pwu Twitter: https://poolchasers.social/twitter-pwu 2is2ueh3

Episode 75: Viewing Life’s Challenges as Opportunities to Improve with John Martese of On Demand Design Concepts

Episode 75: Viewing Life’s Challenges as Opportunities to Improve with John Martese of On Demand Design Concepts

From a young age, John has been overcoming what life has thrown at him. His father left at the age of 2 and he was raised by his mother. Along with his mother, he had some great influences in his life such as his grandparents and stepfather who helped teach him many of life’s lessons. John tells us what this experience was like and how it helped him embrace other challenges that came his way. One of those challenges was the economic crash in 2007, which led to him getting into the pool service side of the industry. John had to face a harsh reality and make many changes in his life. Episode 74: Pumps 101 - Pentair Intellifo, VS Technology, and DOE Laws with Jeff, Ryan, Brian, and Randy

Episode 74: Pumps 101 - Pentair Intellifo, VS Technology, and DOE Laws with Jeff, Ryan, Brian, and Randy

In this episode of the podcast, we interviewed Jeff Farlow, Ryan Weaver, Brian King, and Rodney McCall from Pentair to discuss variable speed pumps. Variable speed technology really changed the game when it came to the market. We have seen a big change in the industry over the last several years with variable speed pumps now becoming the staple for what is being installed. A big part of that shift was the Department of Energy laws that were put in place which Jeff explains in a simplistic way in the episode.  If you have ever struggled to sell a variable speed pump to a customer, then you will not want to miss this episode! The guys share several insights for you to use when explaining the energy savings concept to a customer, as well as provide a few analogies to help improve your pump sales. They also break down the Intelliflo in a way that we have never heard before. This will help you understand how the parts of the pump work together, what the default settings are, and the warranty information. One of our favorite parts was the explanation of the flow technology which was re-introduced through Pentair’s VSF Intelliflo Pump. We go over many reasons why this technology is a win-win for both you and your customer. This is the most people we have had on an episode so there is a ton of knowledge being shared. We hope you enjoy the episode! Episode 70: Relationships Between Pool Service & Pool Remodel Companies with Alan and Jeff Smith

Relationships between pool service companies and pool remodel companies can be touchy at times, especially if something goes wrong with a surface and fingers start to get pointed. This is why we asked Alan & Jeff Smith to come on the podcast and discuss how they handle the situation at Alan Smith Pool Plastering. They have always looked at the pool service companies as great companies to partner with and Alan even says “they built our business”. We discuss the strategies and systems they use to make sure that they are keeping a strong bond with the companies they work with.   They have even put on a pool service appreciation day for the last 7 years. This day includes free breakfast and lunch, free educational seminars, drawings for prizes, and even a live plaster and hydro blast demonstration. It's a great way to learn and build a relationship with a great company. We were excited to have our mentor Michael Dennis of X-Pools back in the studio to share some of his knowledge. Since we have known him, Michael has been excellent at the pool bidding process. He shared his process with us years ago and it helped us tremendously to develop our own process and checklist, so we thought it would be great to share with everyone. We also invited industry up and comer Jason Becker of Clean Science Pool Care to join us and offer a different perspective to the conversation. We have been really impressed with Jason’s drive to be excellent and provide a truly professional service to his clients. Having both of them in the studio with us created an awesome collaboration which we are excited to share with you all.  We wanted to be a little more topical with this episode, so we discuss the pool service bid process thoroughly. Episode 58: Exploring an Alternative Method to Help you Clean a Pool with Paul Sim of Solar Breeze

Episode 58: Exploring an Alternative Method to Help you Clean a Pool with Paul Sim of Solar Breeze

We had the pleasure of sitting down with Paul Sim who is the President of Solar Pool Technologies. We asked Paul to be on the show because they make a solar-powered skimmer called Solar Breeze which we used when we were running our routes at Brothers. The Solar Breeze NX2 works similar to a “Roomba” but for the pool. We found them to be very useful in pools surrounded by a lot of debris or in pools that had an in-floor system. They can be used with any pool though and we used it in so many ways. We also found that having one in the water allowed us to focus more on the water chemistry and checking the equipment each visit and not spend so much time skimming. In most residential cases, you are only at that pool 1 or 2 times a week and having a Solar Breeze will help to keep that pool swim-ready for your clients during the time you are not there. It's a great option to help you keep your pools clean and your customers happy.   You can find more information about Solar Breeze below:  Website: http://bit.ly/SolarBreezePWU  Instagram: http://bit.ly/SolarBreezeIGPWU  Facebook: http://bit.ly/SolarBreezeFBPWU  Phone Number: 623-582-2825  Email: [email protected]   You can find the books discussed below:  Good to Great: http://bit.ly/GoodToGreatPWU  Steve Jobs: http://bit.ly/SteveJobsPWU  You can follow Pool Chasers below:    Website: http://bit.ly/P

Episode 57: How Attending One IPSSA Meeting Changed Our Perspective with Steve Ward and Marc Cannon

In this episode, we interview Steve Ward and Marc Cannon. Steve is the current President of the East Valley IPSSA Chapter and the owner of Arizona Pool Water Recycling. Marc was a Regional Director and Administrative President for IPSSA and also owns Rescue H2O Pool Service & Repair. We had the opportunity to attend a chapter meeting and it completely changed our whole perspective on what we thought IPSSA was. We had formed our old opinions of the organization without ever attending one of these meetings or doing our own research. We wanted to have Steve and Marc on to discuss what IPSSA is actually about and why everyone should consider looking into the organization. It is a great way to build relationships within the industry and with vendors. Every business can use all the help they can get and IPSSA has a lot to offer. It may not be for everyone, but you will never know if it is a fit for you unless you give it a chance.  You can find IPSSA below: Website: http://bit.ly/IPSSAWebsitePWU Books: http://bit.ly/IPSSABooksPWU Regions & Chapters: http://bit.ly/IPSSAChaptersPWU Steve & Marc’s Chapter: http://bit.ly/IPSSARegion8PWU You can find the podcast discussed below: Born To Impact: http://bit.ly/BornPWU You can find Pool Pro 30 Under 40 Here: Nominate Someone: http://bit.ly/PoolProPWU You can follow Pool Chasers below:   Website: http://bit.ly/PCWebsitePWU  Instagram: http://bit.ly/PCInstagramPWU  Facebook: http://bit.ly/PCFacebookPWU  Facebook Group: http://bit.ly/PCFacebookGroupPWU  Twitter: http://bit.ly/PCTwitterPWU  YouTube: http://bit.ly/PCYouTubePWU  Patreon: http://bit.ly/PCPatreonPWU  This episode is brought to you by Jobber.
