MLB Postseason views; Daryl Morey was FIRED by the Houston Rockets over China tweet (10/16)

MLB Postseason views; Daryl Morey was FIRED by the Houston Rockets over China tweet (10/16)

Today's word of the day is 'Barbra Streisand' as in memory as in not having one as in the Atlanta Braves came back from the 15-3 beatdown to absolutely smoke the Los Angeles Dodgers in Game 5. One of the most important traits of a good team is not having a memory. Clayton Kershaw was on the hill for the Dodgers and by the 6th inning the Atlanta Braves came alive (0:06). What's going on in the ALCS? Carlos Correa put his money where his mouth is and he hit a walkoff home run to extend the series. The Tampa Bay Rays now lead the series 3-2. Can the Astros do the near impossible ()? Review - Ava (). Ty Lue is set to be named the head coach of the Los Angeles Clippers. He went from assistant on Doc Rivers staff to now the head man. Why did Steve Ballmer go this way with the hire ()? So You Wanna Talk To Samson. Someone asked me how I felt about the Cincinnati Bengals kicking a field goal to ruin the Baltimore Ravens shutout. This should have been a non-story but the Ravens defensive coordinator got angry. Boo hoo (). Players always say all they want to do is win. Le'Veon Bell has signed with the Kansas City Chiefs are an awful tenure with the New York Jets (). Let's end today talking about the Houston Rockets and the Daryl Morey divorce. He sent a tweet about Hong Kong, China lost its minds, the NBA lost billions of dollars, and this is the fallout. Morey 'stepped down' as Rockets GM, but that's not true. Was this the NBA's doing ()? #waittosee ------------------------ 'Nothing Personal with David Samson' is available on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Stitcher, Google Podcasts, Castbox, Bullhorn and wherever else you listen to podcasts.   Follow David on Twitter: @DavidPSamson  To watch David on CBS Sports HQ visit https://www.cbssports.com/live/ To hear more from the CBS Sports Podcast Network, visit https://www.cbssports.com/podcasts/ https://www.youtube.com/nothingpersonalwithdavidsamson Learn more about your ad choices. I am the mush. Dodgers, Astros stay alive with wins (10/15)

I am the mush. Dodgers, Astros stay alive with wins (10/15)

Today's word of the day is 'annihilation' as in the Dodgers bats are alive as in the Atlanta Braves allowed 11 first-inning runs to the Los Angeles Dodgers. What went wrong for the Braves? We knew the Los Angeles Dodgers were capable of doing something this great. Is this the spark the Dodgers needed or is this something the Braves will be able to move on from (0:06)? What about the ALCS? The Houston Astros win because of Jose Altuve. Maybe he doesn't have the yips (11:26)? So You Wanna Talk To Samson!? Someone asked me why there's no mercy rule in MLB. Should there be one? Absolutely not (14:35). Review - Hubie Halloween (25:30). Alabama head coach Nick Saban tested positive for COVID-19. What is the significance of this? What is the impact of coronavirus on college football right now (30:00)? The NFL has new cases on its hands. The Atlanta Falcons had two new positive tests and shut down their facility today. The game against the Minnesota Vikings is on as scheduled. Will the NFL bubble for the playoffs (37:55)? #waittosee --------------------------- 'Nothing Personal with David Samson' is available on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Stitcher, Google Podcasts, Castbox, Bullhorn and wherever else you listen to podcasts. Are the Dodgers and Astros really going to get swept!? (10/14)

Are the Dodgers and Astros really going to get swept!? (10/14)

Today's word of the day is 'yips' as in one of the worst things to happen in sports as in what's happening right now to Houston Astros 2B Jose Altuve. He had ZERO errors in the regular season and last night he had two terrible fielding errors and a bad running situation. What are the yips? What should the Houston Astros do with Altuve to help him (0:06)? What's happening in the National League? More and more problems for the Los Angeles Dodgers. Clayton Kershaw was scratched from Game 2 and they lost. The Atlanta Braves are up 2-0 and Kershaw may not be ready for Game 3 and hopeful for Game 4. This is as bad as it gets for the Dodgers (9:30). So You Wanna Talk To Samson!? Someone asked me about the comments Yankees owner Hal Steinbrenner made about his current ball club (15:00). Review - Crip Camp (26:30). J-E-T-S! JETS! JETS! JETS! Le'Veon Bell was released by the New York Jets last night. The team tried to trade him and couldn't. The Jets are a disaster. Adam Gase makes it another game. What is going on with sports teams in New York (33:50)? The Premier Leauge is going through some drama. Manchester United and Liverpool want to restructure the entire league and it's not good for small clubs (40:00). IT'S OUR ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY! ONE WHOLE YEAR WITH US AND IT'S BECAUSE OF YOU! THANK YOU! #waittosee --------------------------- 'Nothing Personal with David Samson' is available on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Stitcher, Google Podcasts, Castbox, Bullhorn and wherever else you listen to podcasts. Are Tampa Bay Rays bringing Moneyball back? (10/13)

Are Tampa Bay Rays bringing Moneyball back? (10/13)

Today's word of the day is 'scrutiny' as in what front offices in MLB are doing right now as in the Tampa Bay Rays are changing the game again. Can the Rays win the World Series? Of course. Will other teams try and become the Rays? Maybe. Are front offices around the league watching the Rays to see if this all works out? Absolutely (0:06). So You Wanna Talk To Samson!? Someone asked me about what's going on with the Boston Red Sox and if it could impact the team's payroll. If you don't know what's going on with the Boston Red Sox... here you go (18:26). Review - One More Orbit (29:40). San Diego Padres player Tommy Pham was stabbed while leaving a strip club. There was an argument by his car and he tried to intervene. He ended up in a hospital. Nightmare (32:25). Here's a big update on some wait to see updates that have been made throughout the year. I tell you if it happens, if it does i tell you, if it doesn't I tell you... accountability (38:45). #waittosee --------------------------- 'Nothing Personal with David Samson' is available on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Stitcher, Google Podcasts, Castbox, Bullhorn and wherever else you listen to podcasts. Remembering the life of Joe Morgan; Will Jerry Jones pay Dak Prescott now? (10/12)

Remembering the life of Joe Morgan; Will Jerry Jones pay Dak Prescott now? (10/12)

Let's start today's show by remembering the life of Hall of Famer Joe Morgan. He died today at the age of 77. 10-time All-Star, two-time MVP, two-time World Series Champion... what a career and what a life..... (0:06) Today's word of the day is 'risk tolerance' as in how much risk is Jerry Jones willing to tolerate. Dak Prescott underwent surgery for a compound fracture of his ankle and his season is over. The Dallas Cowboys QB will miss the rest of the season... a season in which he is playing under the franchise tag, and not a long-term deal (3:48). BREAKING NEWS! BREAKING NEWS! Rick Renteria has been fired by the Chicago White Sox. Very surprising news (14:03). So You Wanna Talk To Samson!? Someone asked me what I thought about LeBron James legacy after winning his 4th title with three different teams. So let's talk about the GOAT discussion and where it stands today (20:20). Review - Emily In Paris (28:50). We're finally getting to the ALCS. The Tampa Bay Rays bullpen absolutely shut down the Houston Astros offense. What does it mean for the series (32:05)? What about in the NLCS between the Los Angeles Dodgers and the Atlanta Braves (36:20)? We'll end today's show with some more NFL news because it never ends. The NFL has completely changed the schedule after more positive tests forced the league to postponed and reschedule games. Patriots DB Jason McCourty sounded off on the NFL and NFLPA. Does Roger Goodell or the NFL care about this (41:30)? #waittosee --------------------------- 'Nothing Personal with David Samson' is available on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Stitcher, Google Podcasts, Castbox, Bullhorn and wherever else you listen to podcasts. NLCS set: Dodgers and Braves is the best possible matchup (10/9)

NLCS set: Dodgers and Braves is the best possible matchup (10/9)

Today's word of the day is 'doughnut' as in 0 as in shutout as in what the Atlanta Braves have been able to do four times in five postseason games. The Braves shutout the Marlins to close up its NLDS series and advance to the NLCS to face the Los Angeles Dodgers. This was the best matchup for baseball fans. The two best teams all season will get to wrestle for a spot in the World Series. What does the front office do the day after your team has been eliminated from the postseason? It's an interesting conversation. Do you start to make moves? Do you wait and see? What happens? The Miami Marlins are asking themselves all of these questions right now. This was a strange season and the Marlins were able to make a little run, but what about 2021 (0:06)? Dwayne Haskins was benched by Ron Rivera. Why is this a worthy conversation? Let's talk about the reasons Rivera said that Haskins was benched. Not a great look for the head coach (26:29). Review - Red Dog (37:25). We've got Game 5 of Yankees-Rays tonight. This is it. The deciding game and Gerrit Cole is pitching on short rest for the first time in his career (40:30). We've got Game 5 in the NBA Finals tonight. LeBron going for ring number four. China is showing an NBA game for the first time in over a year! Will LBJ get the ring (44:20)? #waittosee --------------------------- 'Nothing Personal with David Samson' is available on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Stitcher, Google Podcasts, Castbox, Bullhorn and wherever else you listen to podcasts. MLB postseason beef making games more exciting than usual (10/8)

MLB postseason beef making games more exciting than usual (10/8)

Today's word of the day is 'phew' as thank God as in Los Angeles Dodgers are phewing themselves right now after Kenley Jansen almost blew Game 3 to the San Diego Padres on Wednesday night. Joe Kelley came in the game for the Dodgers and he almost blew it. Let's talk about bullpens and the change that's come. We had Manny Machado get into verbal war with Brusdal Graterol. Cody Bellinger hit a home run and robbed a home run (0:06). What's going on with the New York Yankees? Problems and lots of them. Giancarlo Stanton is scorching Earth at the plate and it matters NADA. Tampa Bay Rays took Game 3 to go up 2-1 and things are looking grim for the Yankees (11:42). Why are so many rookies making their MLB debut in the playoffs? Let's discuss exactly why this is happening (20:33). Review - The Amazing Johnathan (33:30). We know there's been an outbreak with the Tennessee Titans, but could the NFL really force them to forfeit a game? Let's discuss. Rumors swirling that if they forfeit then the Buffalo Bills wouldn't get paid... I don't know about that. What will the NFL do (37:45)? #waittosee --------------------------- 'Nothing Personal with David Samson' is available on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Stitcher, Google Podcasts, Castbox, Bullhorn and wherever else you listen to podcasts. NFL covid outbreak could impact entire league (10/7)

NFL covid outbreak could impact entire league (10/7)

Today's word of the day is 'spaghettiOs" as in uh oh as in uh oh spaghettiO as in the NFL has a covid problem on its hands. Stephon Gilmore has tested positive for coronavirus following the Patriots and Chiefs game on Monday night. So now Cam Newton and Stephon Gilmore are out. The Tennessee Titans went one day without a new positive test, but now on Wednesday we have two more positive tests. These are major issues in the league. What will Roger Goodell and the NFL do (0:06)? Raise your hand if you watched 11 or 12 hours of baseball yesterday. I did. What happened in the Marlins-Braves game that stood out? The Marlins poked the bear. Sandy Alcantara hit Ronald Acuna after he homered off him in the first inning. The Braves responded by letting the bats fly (11:22). Giancarlo Stanton has come alive in the postseason. Homer after homer after homer after homer after homer. BUT! Did Aaron Boone blow it before the game even started (21:07)? What meaningful thing happened in the San Diego Padres game? Mike Clevinger started and made it through just one inning before leaving with an injury. Uh oh (27:53). Review - Wonder Woman (35:17). Doc Rivers lasted one day without a job in the NBA. He's the new coach of the Philadelphia 76ers and the things he said at his introductory press conference were so ridiculous. We need to talk about this. What will Doc do with Embiid and Simmons (38:40)? #waittosee --------------------------- 'Nothing Personal with David Samson' is available on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Stitcher, Google Podcasts, Castbox, Bullhorn and wherever else you listen to podcasts. Houston Texans fire Bill O'Brien and the Dolphins tank is on (10/6)

Houston Texans fire Bill O'Brien and the Dolphins tank is on (10/6)

Today's word of the day is 'business' as in this show as in it's always business as in Bill O'Brien knew that getting fired was business. Why was he fired? A laundry list of reasons. He was the head coach and the GM. He traded away DeAndre Hopkins. He has no first or second round pick in 2021. The Texans are 0-4. Disaster (0:06). What's going on with the Miami Dolphins? They own the Texans first and second round picks in 2021 so should the tank continue? Seems like it. Why is Ryan Fitzpatrick the starter while Tua rides the bench... business (15:44). So You Wanna Talk To Samson!? Someone asked me why the NBA Finals ratings are plummeting and if it's because the NBA has gone 'woke'. This is such a politicized topic that we need to break it down (24:50). NFC East is the laughing stock of the NFL (10/5)

NFC East is the laughing stock of the NFL (10/5)

Today’s word of the day is ‘least’ as in the NFC Least as in the NFC East is as bad as it gets in the NFL. Th Dallas Cowboys almost came back in miracle fashion again. Is Dak Prescott the problem? Doesn't look like it. So who is? Jerry Jones? What about the rest of the NFC East? The Philadelphia Eagles lead the division with a 1-2-1 record! The New York Giants have a real problem on their hands as well. What about the WTF? I mean... the WFT... STINK. But is this bad for the NFL? Nope (0:06). Did Tom Brady find the fountain of youth or is it all a mirage (10:23)? How about Brady's old team the New England Patriots? Cam Newton tested positive, game moved to Monday, and now the Patriots are traveling in two different planes to Kansas City (12:55). Review - American Murderer: The Family Next Door (24:00). Philadelphia Phillies GM Matt Klentak has 'stepped down' from him role... okay... stepped down.. how about fired! That's not even the biggest news. Phillies owner John Middleton threw Klentak so far under the bus he's still rotating around the tires (31:30). How did my Wild Card picks do? Now it's time to give out some Divisional Round picks (41:00). Let's end the show with the best sports story of the weekend... Jalen Ramsey v. Golden Tate. J-E-T-S! JETS! JETS! JETS! Does Adam Gase have to go? (10/2)

Today's word of the day is 'melee' as in a fight as in a brawl as in the Jets-Broncos game on Thursday night could have ended in one. Why? The New York Jets are a disaster. Six personal foul penalties. Two roughing the passer penalties. Gregg Williams as the Jets defensive coordinator. Adam Gase as the Jets head coach. A recipe for a sloppy, ugly, horrible game. Broncos head coach took offense to the way this game went down and snubbed Adam Gase of a postgame handshake. So now what happens (0:06)? LeBron James says he and Anthony Davis work so well because there's no jealousy. How important is it for superstar on your team to respect each other (12:15)? Let's talk about Fernando Tatis Jr of the San Diego Padres. Bat flips, home runs, amazing plays, and a bunch of swag... he saved the Padres season. The bigger discussion is how can MLB help make him the face of baseball (21:19). Clayton Kershaw just destroyed the Milwaukee Brewers last night. Has Kershaw exorcised his postseason demons? Not yet (29:31). Review - Little Monsters (33:00). Francisco Lindor had a quote that was made for Nothing Personal. When asked if Cleveland could afford him he said, "It's a billion dollar organization." (36:45) Welp.... MLB Postseason, NBA Finals... How do we watch it all!? (10/1)

MLB Postseason, NBA Finals... How do we watch it all!? (10/1)

Today's word of the day is 'overstimulated' as in 8 playoff games and a finals game as in so much sports as in how do we watch it all!? Let's talk about how crazy of a sports day Wednesday actually was(0:06). Houston Astros advanced and Carlos Correa spoke to the haters. Not the right move (2:30). What about our pal, Trevor Bauer? What did he do? He pitched a gem, but he keeps doing things that rub people the wrong way (9:04). The last series I'd like to talk about is the Yankees-Indians matchup. What a disaster of a game last night. Not the game game, but the game length. 19 walks. A rain delay (13:00). So You Wanna Talk To Samson!? Someone asked me about having fans at the World Series. They wanted if this decision was just about money (17:11). Review - Thunder Road (25:00). Let's talk about the NBA Finals. Not the game. What was going on behind the scenes. The report was Doc Rivers was watching the game with Philadelphia 76ers top brass. Interesting. Allow me to explain (27:00). The Brooklyn Nets already seem like a bad, bad situation. Kyrie Irving had some things to say on Kevin Durant's new podcast (31:45). What happens when a team owner wants to be 'part of the process'... the Los Angeles Angels know all too well about this (34:50). We did not win Podcast of the Year Award, but we still love each one of you listeners. Thank you. NFL makes first covid postponement decision with Titans-Steelers (9/30)

NFL makes first covid postponement decision with Titans-Steelers (9/30)

Today's word of the day is 'flowchart' as in the NFL will update it's chart as in what is being decided is what we discussed yesterday. The Tennessee Titans and Pittsburgh Steelers game will not be on Sunday, but could be on Monday or Tuesday after another positive test. No positives for the Minnesota Vikings players tested positive so that game will go on as planned on Sunday. Now we have some scheduling issues between the teams, the NFL, and the broadcast partners (0:06). How did Shane Bieber look in the postseason? He got rocked by the New York Yankees. Gerit Cole pitched a gem, and it was all over. This was always an option that was likely to happen in Game 1. What will happen with the Indians against Tanaka in Game 2 (5:26)? The Minnesota Twins are in a bad place. 17-straight playoff losses. How does a team overcome this (11:07)? The Chicago White Sox were the coldest team in MLB entering the postseason and it DID NOT MATTER. So what is the mentality right now in the postseason when facing elimination (17:01)? The NBA Finals begin tonight.. Heat v. Lakers, Pat Riley v. LeBron James... oh boy. Let's talk about this championship run from LeBron James and what this title would mean to him (22:07). NFL UPDATE! NFL UPDATE! It has come to our attention that the Titans game that could be played on Tuesday next week has a conflict in scheduling! Nashville SC has a home game Tuesday night in MLS. Who gets to play the game (25:55)? So You Wanna Talk To Samson!? Someone asked me what I thought about Las Vegas Raiders owner Mark Davis comments on mask wearing situation (29:43). What's going on with Messi and Barcelona? Messi says it's water under the bridge and he was trying to help out his club when he asked for a release.... give me a break (36:18). Los Angeles Clippers fire Doc Rivers; NFL dealing with Titans coronavirus outbreak (9/29)

Los Angeles Clippers fire Doc Rivers; NFL dealing with Titans coronavirus outbreak (9/29)

Today's word of the day is 'vision' as in I want to share my vision as in selling a vision to your team as in when you're the owner of a team you have a vision to win a title every year as in Steve Ballmer and the Los Angeles Clippers fired Doc Rivers after blowing a 3-1 series lead to the Denver Nuggets. Let's talk about what went wrong here and how Steve Ballmer handled this situation (0:06). BREAKING COVID NEWS! PUT YOUR MASK ON AND GET OUT OF THE HUDDLE! There is a coronavirus outbreak in the NFL right now inside the Tennessee Titans organizations. Three players and five staff tested positive and now everything is shut down. Titans played the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday so the Vikings shut down. So what happens next (12:09)? The Philadelphia Phillies failed. Bryce Harper failed. Joe Girardi failed. Matt Klentak failed. J.T. Realmuto is about to enter free agency. Is there anyway the Phillies can avoid a complete disaster? What happens on a team charter plane (19:37)? Well, we have an issue with the San Francisco 49ers and offensive coach Katie Sowers. Sowers sister went public saying it was ridiculous that her sister had to fly coach on the team charter while other coaches sat in first class. Let's talk about seating charts and how they work (27:19). Review - The Devil All The Time (34:15). MLB postseason is here and we got a good one tonight. The New York Yankees take on the Cleveland Indians and Gary Sanchez is not in the lineup. The Yankees say it's a 'catching decision'.... yea right. Let me explain this personal catcher decision (36:45). What else is happening in the playoffs? Josh Donaldson... the multi-million dollar man for the Minnesota Twins... not on the active roster... uh-oh (39:15). Everything we learned from MLB regular season and Wild Card predictions (9/28)

Everything we learned from MLB regular season and Wild Card predictions (9/28)

Here's everything we learned from MLB regular season. The season was in jeopardy to and no one thought we'd have a season, but it's playoff time. When we look back on the 2020 season what will we most remember? Let's start with the fighting between MLB and MLBPA (0:06). What about the amount of games? Well, 60 games is too little, but 162 games may be too many (1:15). Players need Spring Training in the worst way (7:20). Who is the best value signing in the past couple of years? He plays for the Yankees (10:05). What about the Red Sox season? Now that Ron Roenicke lasted just one season... what will that team do (13:00)? What about the Phillies and Angels? Disaster (15:00). What was the biggest takeaway? We all missed baseball (17:45). Let's get to the Wild Card round predictions! Who will make it through (21:15)? #waittosee --------------------------- 'Nothing Personal with David Samson' is available on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Stitcher, Google Podcasts, Castbox, Bullhorn and wherever else you listen to podcasts. The final Power 5 conference has spoken: the Pac-12 is returning to play (9/25)

The final Power 5 conference has spoken: the Pac-12 is returning to play (9/25)

Today's word of the day is 'Gary Coleman' as in "What you talkin' bout Willis!?" as in what are you trying to say as in Oregon president Michael Schill said the Pac-12 returning to play college football HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH MONEY. Excuse me? This decision to play was SOLELY about money (0:06). We hate having to talk about the same things over and over and over again, but Adam Gase loves to provide content. What could he possibly say now that caught our attention? Well, the New York Jets are banged up and when asked about who will play wide receiver for team he said this... (8:25) Who's watching the NBA right now? The officials are. Eyes close on the Lakers-Nuggets because the league really really wants the Lakers in the Finals (12:22). So You Wanna Talk To Samson!? Someone asked me about the new MLB deal with Turner and what it meant for team spending. Do these billions mean anything for team payroll? Allow me to answer (21:15). Review - The Right Stuff (31:00). How is Steve Cohen already making announcements about the New York Mets hiring a new president when he's not the owner yet? This is a very perplexing situation. Let's discuss this (35:00). It's been four years since the tragic death of Marlins pitcher Jośe Fernández. I want to take this time to remember him and his greatness (41:15). #waittosee --------------------------- 'Nothing Personal with David Samson' is available on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Stitcher, Google Podcasts, Castbox, Bullhorn and wherever else you listen to podcasts. Explaining verdict in Breonna Taylor ruling; Biggest stories in MLB (9/24)

Explaining verdict in Breonna Taylor ruling; Biggest stories in MLB (9/24)

Today's word of the day is 'tragedy' as in "not all tragedy is a crime" as in explaining what happened with the verdict in Kentucky in the Breonna Taylor case. It has been a big topic in this country especially in the sports world. Athletes and celebrities have been calling for months for the officers in Louisville, Ky to be arrested in Breonna Taylor's death. So let me explain right now what a grand jury is, how this ruling came to be, and why a settlement was reached. These are just facts about the case. No opinion.....(0:06) Kansas City Royals GM Dayton Moore has scathing words for the MLBPA. This is about the instructional league. What is this issue that he has? Why is it so important (14:50)? So You Wanna Talk To Samson!? Someone asked me if I would fire the team doctor for the Los Angeles Chargers after what happened to starting QB Tyrod Taylor. What happened to him? He had his lung punctured by the team doctor while getting an injection for a rib injury... just before kick off (25:00)! Review - Challenger: Final Flight (34:00). Let's run through some big MLB headlines. The San Diego Padres are in trouble. Mike Clevinger left Wednesday's game after an inning with a biceps injury and that is bad news. What will happen come playoff time if he can't pitch (39:15)? Trevor Bauer is going to win the NL Cy Young. He is pitching like a real threat and now the Cincinnati Reds are in a good playoff position (41:25). Ending today with some NBA talk. Will the Denver Nuggets tie the series at two with the Los Angeles Lakers (44:50)? #waittosee --------------------------- 'Nothing Personal with David Samson' is available on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Stitcher, Google Podcasts, Castbox, Bullhorn and wherever else you listen to podcasts. MLB commissioner Rob Manfred says 2021 postseason expansion will be different than 2020 (9/23)

MLB commissioner Rob Manfred says 2021 postseason expansion will be different than 2020 (9/23)

Today's word of the day is 'marginalize' as in to treat as insignificant or peripheral as in what MLB commissioner Rob Manfred said about this season's postseason format. Why would he say that? This postseason was expanded to 16 teams, but it won't be like that next season. Manfred said they spoke about 14 teams for a 'regular' year. What about the World Series? Manfred said he wants fans in the stands (0:06). What's happening in the NBA? Not on the court, I'm talking off the court. Adam Silver spoke on Tuesday and said the league likely won't start until January 2021 now. One of the biggest threats to the NBA bubble is not just covid, but also the impact on the mental health of the players. This is why the league cannot afford a bubble again for a full season (13:05). So You Wanna Talk To Samson!? Someone asked me about the Denver Nuggets-Los Angeles Lakers series. They wanted to know how critical the Game 3 win was for the Nuggets (21:00). Review - A Beautiful Planet (30:00). Let's talk about Bruce Arians and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. First it was his comments on Tom Brady. Now it's his comments on Rob Gronkowski. What have we learned about this situation (34:20)? We'll end today talking about masks again. The NFL fined more coaches for not wearing masks properly. The total money fined is now at $1.75M in ONE WEEKEND alone! Will this continue (41:35)? #waittosee --------------------------- 'Nothing Personal with David Samson' is available on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Stitcher, Google Podcasts, Castbox, Bullhorn and wherever else you listen to podcasts. NFL hands down massive fine for masks; Are Mets targeting Brian Cashman from Yankees? (9/22)

NFL hands down massive fine for masks; Are Mets targeting Brian Cashman from Yankees? (9/22)

Today's word of the day is 'somebody stop me!' as in Jim Carey as in The Mask as in NFL coaches were fined HUGE money for not wearing a mask this weekend. Not really not wearing a mask, but not wearing it properly. What do these fines mean? Were these too big of fines? Let's talk about it (0:06). Michael Jordan is starting a NASCAR team with driver Denny Hamlin. His first driver... Bubba Wallace. Jordan is dipping his toes into the NASCAR waters... why (9:40)? MLB continues to show that they are now 'woke'. The league announced yesterday that MLB and MLBPA would donate $10M to Players Alliance. Let's discuss where and what this money is going to (16:35). Review - Top 5 Billy Murray movies (23:45). What's Steve Cohen doing today? Rumors and rumors and rumors are coming out about moves he'd like to make as owner of the New York Mets. He still hasn't been voted in as the new owner and now we have reports that Brian Cashman could be moving from the Yankees to the Mets as the team's new GM... NOT A CHANCE (28:30). Let's get back to the NFL. Matt Patricia has been a complete failure as the head coach of the Detroit Lions. When should a team fire a coach (36:30)? #waittosee --------------------------- 'Nothing Personal with David Samson' is available on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Stitcher, Google Podcasts, Castbox, Bullhorn and wherever else you listen to podcasts. NFL weekend overshadowed by death of Ruth Bader Ginsburg (9/21)

NFL weekend overshadowed by death of Ruth Bader Ginsburg (9/21)

Today's word of the day is 'fervent' as in the final words of Ruth Bader Ginsburg. Who was she? A legend, that's who. Let me fill in some listeners on who she was and what she meant to this country. Not only was she one of the most prominent Supreme Court justices ever... she lived a fascinating life of purpose (0:06). The show goes on; on the field and off the field. What happened this weekend in the NFL? Injuries. All the injuries. Saquon Barkley, Christian McCaffrey, Nick Bosa, Cam Sutton, Drew Lock, Jimmy Garoppolo, Davante Adams and MORE! It was a horrible weekend for injuries (12:40). Review - 72nd Primetime Emmy Awards (27:00). Where's MLB at right now? We're entering the final week of the shortened covid regular season. Who's clinched? The New York Yankees are finally back to playing good baseball. Besides that it's boring in the American League, the real race is in the National League. Justin Verlander missed the entire season with a forearm injury and now he needs Tommy John surgery. Oh boy, he's owed $33M next season and will miss it, his final year on his deal. The worst part about the shortened season? The Washington Nationals. Last season the team was 19-31 and won the World Series. This season the team is 19-30 and will miss the postseason (32:45). Celtics coach Brad Stevens was in danger of his locker room losing control after falling 0-2 to Miami Heat. The team came out and thrashed the Heat in Game 3. How did he do this (43:15)? #waittosee --------------------------- 'Nothing Personal with David Samson' is available on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Stitcher, Google Podcasts, Castbox, Bullhorn and wherever else you listen to podcasts. Let's use the rest of the time in 2020 to educate ourselves (9/17)

Today's word of the day is 'survey' as in one was conducted and the results were scary. It was one on the Holocaust and the amount of young adults who didn't know 6 million Jews were killed is shocking. Let's talk about education and the dangers of ignoring history.... (0:06) MLB expanded playoffs is here and fans are BIG mad about this. Well, owners will never accept a 2nd year of this format. Here is why (12:15). So You Wanna Talk To Samson!? Someone asked me if Albert Pujols doesn't get to 700 career home runs will anyone currently playing get there. What a great question (22:00). Review - Triple Frontier (28:30). An update on some MLB picks and how bad the Phillies stink(32:40). Let me make some corrections (36:00). What's the deal with the Clippers? Now we hear about how dysfunctional that team actually was. Big Ten announces college football will return this fall (9/16)

Today's word of the day is 'unanimous' as in the voting process in the Big Ten as in college football was cancelled this fall in the conference and then un-cancelled after another vote by school presidents and chancellors. So what happened? What changed so much from the first vote that was 11-3 to NOT play and now 14-0 TO play (0:06). You know who's on vacation now? The Los Angeles Clippers are. What went wrong with that team? If I'm Clippers owner Steve Ballmer what am I doing today. Let's discuss (12:43). Review - Quincy (21:30). Dan McNeil was fired by 670 The Score after his comments about ESPN analyst and host Maria Taylor. Let's talk about Entercom's statement that was released about the firing. It was perfect. It's a good time to bring up freedom of speech and the consequences that come from it (25:15). So You Wanna Talk To Samson!? Someone asked me about the MLB bubble. It has confirmed Texas and Southern California as the locations. New York Mets fans are dancing in the streets today (9/15)

Today's word of the day is '23' as in 23 votes needed as in Steve Cohen will be the new owner of the New York Mets if he gets 23 votes from MLB owners. So let's talk about this deal. What will change if anything with the Mets (0:06)? MLB has cancelled the General Manager's Meetings this winter and the Winter Meetings will likely be cancelled too. Is this a big deal for baseball? No (10:46). So You Wanna Talk To Samson!? Someone asked me what I thought about Bruce Arian's comments on Tom Brady. They wanted to know if this sort of public criticism would work on Tom Brady (18:28). Review - The Social Dilemma (27:45). We'd like to take some time to update on my 'wait to see' observations (37:35). The Big Ten is starting to get on my nerves. Are you ready for some football!?

Are you ready for some football!?

Today's word of the day is 'seurat' as in the famous painter Seurat as in Sunday Afternoon as in the NFL is back! Did you watch!? We had some great games in week one of the NFL season. Let's start things off with our dear friend Dan Snyder. How could Washington Football Team be back? Well, because Dan Snyder said he may just keep that name (0:06)! The New York Jets need a new football coach. Adam Gase is not the answer and he's proven time and time again why he shouldn't be coaching in the NFL (6:30). The biggest play of the weekend was pass interference in the Cowboys game. Of course it was (11:45). Giannis Antetokounmpo met with Milwaukee Bucks ownership over the weekend. Reports said they discussed the team moving forward, how much the team would spend on players to help its star, and a bunch of other fun things. What are these meetings like (16:58)? Review - Wildlife (28:45). What's going on in MLB? Did you all forget it was still happening? Marlins fans sure haven't. The Miami Marlins are the talk of MLB and Don Mattingly and Mike Hill deserve all the credit in the world (32:15). Albert Pujols hit his 660th home run over the weekend. He's one of the three best right-handed hitters of all time, but he isn't catching Alex Rodriguez (35:45). So You Wanna Talk To Samson!? Someone asked me if the MLBPA could derail the MLB postseason bubble. What else is 2020 going to throw at us?

What else is 2020 going to throw at us?

Today's word of the day is 'apocalypse' as in what else is going to happen this year as in coronavirus as in hurricanes as in west coast wildfires. We live in one of the most insane years ever and it just keeps getting crazier. With the NFL season about to kickoff tonight, this weekend the San Francisco 49ers host the Arizona Cardinals, but THE SKY IS RED! The air quality is so poor because of the fire that the game might not happen (0:06). Steve Nash is the new head coach of the Brooklyn Nets. It's a big hire because he's a former 2-time NBA MVP. A question came up at his press conference about 'white privilege' and let's discuss his response (9:53). Review - I'm Thinking of Ending Things (20:15). So You Wanna Talk To Samson!? Someone asked me my thoughts on Justin Timberlake being added to a group trying to expand MLB into Nashville following my thoughts on Jennifer Lopez and the Mets. Let me take you to business class very quickly. How does the sale of authentics work for teams (27:00)? The Milwaukee Brewers claim their sales are down and the Atlanta Braves say their sales are up. Hmm (32:15). Bubble talk! Bubble talk! Some Lakers players are upset about late-night games and not enough time off. The GM for the Jazz wants to adapt the bubble scheduling to the regular season. It's time for JLo and Arod to give up on their New York Mets dream

Today's word of the day is 'dinero' as in the green, the money, the cash flow. We all just want that dinero. Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez are back in the news again because they won't give up on their dream to buy the Mets. Even though Steve Cohen has gotten the exclusive right to buy the team. Why is this important? Because some of the things they said they would GUARANTEE if they bought the Mets were RIDICULOUS! Let me explain (0:06). Politicians sent letters to Big Ten commissioner Kevin Warren and to the Big Ten presidents. I've dealt with a ton of politician letters in my time. Here's what happens (14:07). Leonard Fournette said for the first time in his career he has a QB to play with. I didn't appreciate him saying this. Not because it could be true, but because there's no need for it (24:00). What could be the biggest threat to an NFL season this year? Injuries. Same thing with MLB. I had told you listeners that MLB players weren't ready. I don't think NFL players are ready either (29:54). Review - Mulan (37:15). Let's end today with some NBA talk. How good are the Miami Heat? Did anyone see the Milwaukee Bucks going home this soon? We did here. Because the bubble is located in Upset City, USA (41:40). #waittosee --------------------------- 'Nothing Personal with David Samson' is available on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Stitcher, Google Podcasts, Castbox, Bullhorn and wherever else you listen to podcasts. Serving you a Labor Day Weekend sports update (9/8)

Today's word of the day is 'default' as in what happened to Novak Djokovic as in he got the boot from the U.S. Open for hitting accidentally hitting a line judge in the throat with a tennis ball (:06). This was the story of the sports weekend. It's been quite the summer for tennis bad boy. Will this hurt The Joker from catching Roger Federer? I need to address something that happened last Thursday. We were wrong to jump on a story that we thought was credible and it turned out to not be. We're referring to the Penn State athletic doctor and his report on covid-19. It seems like there was confusion on the public's part and we reported on that (10:10). The one thing I will say is this was not political. It was commentary on what was happening. Review - Love (18:45). What has happened to the New York Yankees (23:30)? They have become a complete disaster recently. Currently sitting at the 8-seed. S.O.S! IF this team doesn't make an expanded postseason...... What else happened in baseball this weekend? Max Fried, hurt. Eric Hosmer, hurt. Javy Baez is very upset with not being allowed to use the replay-review system during games. Just another weekend in MLB. So You Wanna Talk To Samson (31:30)!? Someone asked me how Nationals GM Mike Rizzo could possibly be thrown out of a game for not wearing a mask IN A STADIUM SUITE! Let's talk about umpire Joe West. WOOF! Today’s word of the day is ‘selfless’ as in David Tepper, owner of the Carolina Panthers, made some staff cuts, BUT, he did it for them! That’s according to him. He said these are difficult times, but the cutting of someone’s position is better for them because ’it’s not good to have an individual sit idle for a year,’... excuse me (0:12)? Kirk Cousins made headlines yesterday for his comments about the pandemic and wearing a mask. He responded the ole Ivan Drogo way.. If I die, I die. Cousins decided later on in the day to walk back some of his comments (11:20). Review - Big Time Adolescence (26:28). So You Wanna Talk To Samson!? Someone asked me if I ever remember a manager candidate declining publicly that they weren’t a candidate, but they were actually a candidate (28:55). Okay. Let me get this out there right now... Aaron Boone would not have his pitchers throw at the Rays. He wouldn’t do it. Aroldis Chapman and Kevin Cash were always getting suspended (35:52). Penn State’s director of Athletic Medicine just dropped some breaking news about coronavirus. It is damning evidence against why the Big Ten are NOT playing football this fall. Will anyone trust science now (41:55)? #waittosee --------------------------- 'Nothing Personal with David Samson' is available on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Stitcher, Google Podcasts, Castbox, Bullhorn and wherever else you listen to podcasts. The new AL East Rivalry: Yankees v. Rays? (9/2)

The new AL East Rivalry: Yankees v. Rays? (9/2)

Today's word of the day is 'headhunting' as in the Yankees and Rays now have some big time beef. Aroldis Chapman threw a 101 mph pitch at a Rays players' head and that was enough. Benches cleared after the game. And Rays manager Kevin Cash did NOT hold back with his comments on the Yankees (0:06). What about the old Yankees rivals? We're talking Boston Red Sox. What did they do yesterday to stir the pot with their fan base? Well, they tweeted out a meme about the 'reset' of the luxury tax. Uh oh. Let's talk about the troubles of that tweet and what exactly the luxury tax is (8:15). What happens when a manager is 'blindsided' by a trade? Detroit Tigers manager Ron Gardenhire said that happened to him in the Cameron Maybin trade (17:47). Review - Bill & Ted Face The Music (24:30). So You Wanna Talk To Samson!? Someone asked me about the title on a player of being 'injury prone' being not fair to the player, but more indicative of the medical/training staff and ownership (28:30). CONFERENCE CALL TIME! Big Ten commissioner Kevin Warren received a phone call from President Donald Trump about trying to get college football this fall. WHAT?!?!? Will this play any factor in the decision to play Big Ten football this fall? Roger Goodell talked about fan in the stands again. This time it was about 'competitive advantage'. He said there is no advantage for having fans in the stands.... huh (35:30)? #waittosee --------------------------- 'Nothing Personal with David Samson' is available on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Stitcher, Google Podcasts, Castbox, Bullhorn and wherever else you listen to podcasts. THE BIG TEN IS BACK! ... in the news again

THE BIG TEN IS BACK! ... in the news again

Today's word of the day is 'discovery' as in a lawsuit by Nebraska football players against the Big Ten conference. Is football going to come back this fall? Well, President Donald Trump said he wants to see it happen. Let's go to law school (0:06). Dan Snyder has been a content machine for this show. Not in a great way. The Washington Football Team is now being investigated by the NFL because of MORE allegations about the culture of the team. Disaster (13:10). What's happening with Real Salt Lake? Remember we talked about about the owner Dell Loy Hansen and if MLS would force him to sell? Remember? Well he's selling (19:34). Review - Drunk Parents (26:00). MLB made a very quiet announcement today and we need to fill you in. It has to do with Minor League Baseball. Let's shine a light on this. It isn't pretty (29:00). So You Wanna Talk To Samson!? Someone asked me my thoughts on why I think the NBA has set the bar on social issues (42:05). #waittosee --------------------------- 'Nothing Personal with David Samson' is available on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Stitcher, Google Podcasts, Castbox, Bullhorn and wherever else you listen to podcasts. Bonus Pod: MLB Trade Deadline Winners & Losers

Bonus Pod: MLB Trade Deadline Winners & Losers

You knew you were going to get an MLB Trade Deadline bonus pod! Let's go through some winners and losers of the deadline. Loser alert! The Texas Rangers opened a new ballpark this year and had to become sellers. The New York Yankees didn't make a move! What!? The Cleveland Indians traded away Mike Clevinger! WHY!? How about the winners? The San Diego Padres are the big winners of the deadline. Landing the big fish in Mike Clevinger was the move. This team is ready for October. You all think I hate on the Marlins.. I don't! The Miami Marlins are winners! A deal for Griffin Conine was good. Getting Starling Marte was good! For some teams not making a move is makers you a winner. The Los Angeles Dodgers were that. They are that good, no need to make a trade. --------------------------- 'Nothing Personal with David Samson' is available on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Stitcher, Google Podcasts, Castbox, Bullhorn and wherever else you listen to podcasts. San Diego Padres blockbuster deal on Deadline Day (8/31)

San Diego Padres blockbuster deal on Deadline Day (8/31)

Today's word of the day is 'Monty Hall' as in Let's Make a Deal as in it's MLB trade deadline day. So what goes down during the trade deadline? What are teams doing? Well, the San Diego Padres had a very busy weekend. They made a blockbuster deal for Cleveland Indians starter Mike Clevinger. The Padres were in on plenty other deals too. Will this work out for the team? How did Mike Clevinger make his way out of Cleveland? What are the Indians doing? Last year it was Trevor Bauer, this year it's Mike Clevinger. Bad teams stay bad by doing bad deals (0:06). So You Wanna Talk To Samson!? Someone asked me to update on the sale on the New York Mets now that Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez are out of it (19:19). Let's honor Chadwick Boseman, Cliff Robinson, and John Thompson (29:30). Review - The Binge (35:40). Ending the show with some New York Yankees talk. How much trouble is this team in? More specifically, how much trouble is Brian Cashman in (39:10)? #waittosee --------------------------- 'Nothing Personal with David Samson' is available on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Stitcher, Google Podcasts, Castbox, Bullhorn and wherever else you listen to podcasts. New York Mets incompetence is nothing new (8/28)

New York Mets incompetence is nothing new (8/28)

Today's word of the day is 'sampson' as in misspelling my name as in Brody's as in how the New York Mets misspelled Brodie Van Wagenen's name in a press release last night. Why was a press release warranted? Well, Brodie got caught on a live mic talking poorly about MLB commissioner Rob Manfred and owner Jeff Wilpon. What a disaster. How as this leaked? IT WASN'T! The Mets 'accidentally' posted the feed onto the team's website. Woof (0:06). The NBA continues to get things right. Regardless of what your view is on them, just listen to me here. Games will be played on Saturday. After two days of protest. After countless meetings. After getting tangible action items listed. Let's hope change soon comes. But something happened in one of those meetings that needs to be talked about. Patrick Beverley said something so disrespectful to union boss Michelle Roberts that Chris Paul, Udonis Haslem, and other players had to put him in check. Wow (16:55). Review - Lean on Pete (28:20). For the first time in NPDS history - we have the best statement released of all time by a team... the Baltimore Ravens (32:55). So You Wanna Talk To Samson!? Someone asked me if I think that the owner of the Real Salt Lake MLS team should be forced to sell his team after his most recent comments about players protesting (38:30). #waittosee --------------------------- 'Nothing Personal with David Samson' is available on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Stitcher, Google Podcasts, Castbox, Bullhorn and wherever else you listen to podcasts. The night the sports world stopped (8/27)

Today's word of the day is '2020' as in it has been a year to remember and a year to forget. Last night the Milwaukee Bucks decided to boycott Game 5 of the NBA Playoffs. What happened after that was historic. NBA games were postponed (0:06). MLB games were stopped (27:25). WNBA games weren't played. NHL went on business as usual (32:42). Meetings were had. Phone calls were made. Let's walk through what happened and what happens next. From players to owners and everyone else. Is a potential boycott going to happen in the NBA? (8/26)

Is a potential boycott going to happen in the NBA? (8/26)

Today's word of the day is 'boycott' as in NBA players are meeting to talk about potentially sitting out games of the playoffs. Toronto Raptors guard Fred VanVleet was very open about his thoughts on how troubling things are to have to focus on playing basketball right now. Boston Celtics guard Marcus Smart spoke about a potential boycott. What's happening in the NBA and is there anything the league can do (0:06)? Los Angeles Clippers forward Paul George opened up about his mental health. He was honest about the anxiety and depression that he's been suffering from (16:57). The Detroit Lions cancelled practice yesterday and the players met with the media. Let's talk about this (23:08). Review - Sinatra: All or Nothing At All (31:00). This is the biggest sports story of the day. Messi wants out of Barcelona. His eyes are set on Manchester City. The one problem? An $825M clause in his contract that he will now dispute with the club (34:20). Uh oh. Breaking news alert! Indiana Pacers have fired head coach Nate McMillan just a few weeks after signing him to an extension. What a disaster that release was (40:30). Quick follow up on the Cleveland Indians... would you look at that... Mike Clevinger is back tonight for the team. Plesac was told there's 'no opportunity at the big league level' at the moment. Yea, right... NBA bubble has been punctured (8/25)

NBA bubble has been punctured (8/25)

Today's word of the day is 'statement' as in Milwaukee Bucks and Brewers released statements following the shooting of Jacob Blake in Kenosha, Wisconsin. Let's discuss the statements each team released and the difficult position sports team are now in.... (0:06) The Process is over. The Philadelphia 76ers were swept by the Boston Celtics in the First Round of the playoffs. The team announced the following day that head coach Brett Brown has been fired. All that trust in the process for nothing. An epic failure (15:22). What about what's going on in South Beach? Well, the Sixers shipped Jimmy Butler out of town and now the he's with the Miami Heat. And the Heat are moving on in the playoffs. Pat Riley deserves more credit than he gets for how the Heat survived the fallout of the Big 3 era (26:20). Review - The Highway men (35:00). So You Wanna Talk To Samson!? Someone asked me what is going on with Plesac and Clevinger with the Cleveland Indians. Are they going to come back anytime soon now that the club needs a starter (38:30)? So what's going on with college football? Just another manic Monday in the NFL (8/24)

Just another manic Monday in the NFL (8/24)

Today's word of the day is 'altercation' as in Earl Thomas gets into a fight in practice and the Baltimore Ravens choose to release him. Now a legal battle will take place over the money the team could owe Thomas. So how are these altercations handled inside the front office? Let's talk more about releasing players (0:06). This time it comes in MLB when the San Francisco Giants decided to DFA Hunter Pence. What does this mean? Why did Gabe Kapler say what he said after this happened (10:10)? MLB is seven days away from the MLB Trade Deadline. Who are buyers? Who are sellers? Who is here to just BS their fans (18:47)? Review - Yellowstone Season 3 (31:30). Anything else happening in the NFL? Nightmares. It came out that 77 players tested positive for coronavirus across 11 different teams! That's bad. Oh it came from a testing lab in New Jersey and it got all the results wrong? Oh all those players who tested positive had their retest come back negative? Perfect (34:08). So You Wanna Talk To Samson!? Someone asked me for my thoughts on the recent interview Roger Goodell did speaking about Colin Kaepernick. Your favorite MLB team STINKS (8/21)

Your favorite MLB team STINKS (8/21)

Today's word of the day is 'jackson' as in Janet Jackson as in what have you done for me lately. What's going on with your favorite MLB team? How mad are you at the offseason signings or the lack of signings or guys you hate who are doing great? Well, let's run through some teams and talk about why your team stinks. The Marlins were the team of the century and now... they stink (0:06)! And the New York Mets had someone test positive so their series with the Marlins is now over and their series against the Yankees is postponed. Perfect (2:03). How about those Yankees? It looks like everyday someone new is on the IL for them. Judge, Stanton, Paxton, Torres... who else (8:00)!? Update on Thom Brennaman. His career is toast... or it should be (13:04). Our old friend Joe Maddon is back in the show today.. why? Because the Angels STINK! Absolutely stink. $245M to Rendon, $426M for Mike Trout. What a mess (15:22). How about the Phillies? STINK! All that spending and no results to show for it (22:54). Review - We Are Freestyle Love Supreme (28:15). NBA free agency could be delayed. This is going to be a nightmare for teams (31:30). Raptors president Masai Ujiri released a statement after the video was made public. This is powerful and presidential (35:35). We'll end the show today with Derrius Guice. Released by the Washington Football Team for an arrest, charged with assault, battery, and felony strangulation. Could he be any worse? Yes, yes he can. Now two former LSU women allege he raped them when he was there. This is disturbing. This is awful. The easiest way to get fired (8/20)

The easiest way to get fired (8/20)

Today's word of the day is 'Castellanos' as in Nick Castellanos as in the worst home run call of all time as in what was Thom Brennaman thinking! Last night he was broadcasting for the Cincinnati Reds against the Kansas City Royals and he got caught on a hot mic using a homophobic slur. Panic spread. Things happened. He was caught. So what did he do? He tried giving an apology on air and in the middle of that apology, Nick Castellanos hit a home run, and Thom STOPPED HIS APOLOGY to call the home run! What happens now (0:06))? Business. The Big Ten is a straight 'clusterduck' (darn autocorrect) - what's been happening lately with that conference? Mayhem. Let's get you up to speed (28:25). Review - The Lost Husband (38:35). Pirates president Travis Williams has tested positive for coronavirus. The team released a statement. My plan for an MLB postseason bubble (8/19)

My plan for an MLB postseason bubble (8/19)

Today's word of the day is 'bubblicious' as in immediate burst of flavor as in bubble gum as in how would an MLB bubble work. Well, I'm glad you asked. This is how a postseason bubble could work. And if you see that an MLB bubble is actually happening, just remember you heard all the details here first (0:06). So let's now talk about the NBA bubble. It has worked... no positive tests, no fans, tons of games... it works... BUT what's happening with the best teams in the bubble. It hasn't been good. Raptors president Masai Ujiri is filing a countersuit against an Alameda County sheriff for what transpired after the Toronto won the championship in Golden State. Video was released yesterday that was shocking and scary. Urjiri was sued by an Alameda County sheriff back in 2019 and now that we see the footage... it's a joke. But not a funny one at all (16:45). What's happening with the Charlotte Hornets? Well, one of the team's broadcasters is now suspended for tweeting a racial slur. He said it was by accident, but that's not how this works (29:38). Review - Running Down a Dream (36:30). An update on the Rangers-Padres drama. We need to stop with all the headhunting. MLB has to get rid of that unwritten rulebook (8/18)

Today's word of the day is 'unwritten' as in baseball's unwritten rules. It's time to burn that book. Kill it with fire. Fernando Tatis Jr. hit a grandslam up 10-3 in the 8th inning against the Texas Rangers and all hell broke loose. What a sham (0:06). Speaking about coaches and managers.... Joe Judge is making his training camp debut as the New York Giants head coach and he wants NO names on practice jersey. Why? Because coaches love these ridiculous things (15:01). So You Wanna Talk To Samson!? Someone asked me if all these reports about All Star weekend in 2021 for the NBA was to be postponed because of hotel reservations being canceled (21:15). Review - Project Power (32:20). Now let's talk about some fans. NFL is ready to come back and the Chiefs say 22 percent capacity, Cowboys want the boxes full, MLB still says no fans, SEC set up rules and regulations for fans... fans, fans, fans!
