The reality of who you actually are is your character.If you work on yourself behind the scenes and you get to the point where you're really proud of you who are; then that's the most important thing, and your reputation will be a snapshot of your character.When you know you're a kind-hearted person with pure intentions, when you know you're an honest, hardworking person of substance, your reputation won't matter as much, and will actually be far better.Building a reputation is like marketing. It's you trying to look good. Building a character is like innovation. It's you actually trying to be good.Both are important, but one is far more important than the other. Keep your focus there. My parents came to the United States in 1996 with a couple hundred bucks in their pocket.At the age of 7, I would go to newspapers and cut out baseball players in the sports section and glue them together with several pieces of paper to emulate real trading cards. In turn, I used the money to buy real baseball & Pokemon cards and cookies to give to his friends.Despite my craftiness and entrepreneurial tendencies, I was labeled as a shy kid and decided to choose fear and not my real potential throughout most of my life. I built up a fair bit of social anxiety, which placed boundaries and prevented me from living the life I actually wanted to live.I got my first job sweeping floors, cleaning tables, and taking orders from customers at my Dad's pizza store. I hustled my way through summers and saved enough money to buy a Laptop and iPhone. From then on I started learning online. I learned how to code, develop and build websites and mobile applications in 2009.I started my own YouTube channel around video games at the age of 13 in 2010. I had a total of 35,000 subscribers and featured games like Call of Duty & Minecraft. Little did I know my content creation marketing skills were being built at a very young age. I founded a Minecraft server at age 15 and it went on to be one of the biggest servers on the planet. I stayed as the creative operations director of PPMC, started in 2013 until 2018, the #1 Pixelmon Minecraft server in the world. As creative director, I grew the company’s website to reach over 10 million users and 10,000 registered premium members. I managed a remote staff team of over 40 talented individuals and directed company growth programs.Founded and operating VU Dream currently (started in Dec. 2016), a growing and innovative virtual and augmented reality marketing & advertising agency based in Boston. VU Dream has worked with dozens of startups, studios, arcades, and other VR/AR businesses to help customers imagine new future realities. We got alot of great feedback from you guys when Alan interviewed Kevin for episode #114 so we decided to do an episode where Kevin interviewed Alan!!This was such an interesting episode. At one point, Alan was an alcoholic, drinking almost every night. Fitness wasn't on his radar at all. He was really living life in a downward spiral. If this episode does anything for you, we truly want it to give you hope. Now it looks like Alan has it all together, he's smiling most of the time, always positive, and always trying to get better. But the truth is most people hit rock bottom before they begin their climb to something brighter, something better, a happier place. This episode went very deep, Alan got very vulnerable because if a single one of you is going through what he wen through, maybe this will pull you out of that! She has had to overcome many obstacles in her life. She comes from a family with a long line of drug and alcohol abuse, as well as depression and countless unmet dreams. Eager to leave the only place she had ever known, she focused on a goal to graduate high school one year early and at the age of 17 she left home. Sarah has a bachelors degree from the University of Arkansas in Speech and Communication, with years of intercultural experience, as well as a nursing background.At the age of 23 years old as she was working as a licensed nurse, Sarah found herself in over her head with student loans, interest rates and materialistic possessions and stuck in the normal routine of life, doing what she felt like she “should” be doing, instead of going after her truest dreams.With the big picture in mind, Sarah decided that it was more important to not live with regrets than losing the approval of others. In 2015 she decided that she was ready for a change and that she wanted to really go out and face her deepest fears.With only a small backpack, she left her place of comfort and set off on a new adventure, but this time completely alone. During that following year, she had many amazing adventures across 25 countries of Africa and Europe. Her eyes opened up to the world and she never was the same."So far Sarah has traveled to 91 countries and has the ultimate goal to travel to every country in the world! Do you think hanging out with people who don't share those same goals will bring you closer to that goal or will it actually make it harder to achieve? See, it doesn't mean you're a bad person for feeling like you're outgrowing those around you... Nor does it devalue those people. It just means you're starting to have less in common.Bottom line, it's nothing personal but you most likely will get to your goals MUCH faster if you're spending time with people who also have big goals. Well its basically the opposite of arrogance. You know a lot of things, but being humble is understanding you don't know everything and being able to learn from someone who knows more than you. I'm sure you've heard the term "humble in victory and defeat." That means that even if you lose, you congratulate your opponent and lose with grace. That means when you win, you don't shove it in your opponent's face.You can be the best in the world at something and still be humble. Just like you can be terrible at something and still be arrogant. Now of course you want to project self confidence and competence... but as with most things, it can be a fine line. Being "Humble" doesn't mean you should let people walk all over you. You should definitely still recognize your worth, but understand your worth isn't always attached to being right/winning!

Thoughts really do become things for those who are willing to work for their dreams! Eric's success is truly attributed to his work ethic. Even though he's paralyzed and travels by wheelchair, he's still a force on social media, is always attending his charity events and is doing speeches around the world.
