USAF veteran Morgan Madonna, a No Fallen Heroes grant recipient, joins Whiz to debrief her healing journey. Listen to the incredible journey of Justin LaPree, founder of the Heroic Path to Light entheogenic church in Austin, Texas. This incredible Marine, who made a decision that he was already dead, was severely wounded at the Battle of Fallujah, suffering a Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI). Whiz speaks with Mark 'Slider' Keller, former Navy F-14 Tomcat and F-18 Hornet Naval Flight Officer with extensive combat experience in multiple theatres of operations. Slider had a weapons delivery that went wrong (after doing everything 'right') that resulted in the deaths of approximately 12 innocent civilians. The resulting trauma stuck with him and as he transitioned to civilian life things began to spiral downward - alcohol, drugs, relationships, addiction, suicidal thoughts - anything to numb the pain. In this very emotional episode Whiz talks with Scott "Pigpen" Walters, former F-14 Tomcat and F/A-18 Hornet Naval Flight Officer. Pigpen is a graduate of the Navy Fighter Weapons School (TOPGUN) who did 4 overseas deployments. Pigpen was originally on track for a career in ministry when he shifted to the Navy and dreams of aviation. Like many in fighter aviation Pigpen was living on the edge and after a stellar 20 year career in the military, the transition to civilian life was tough. As a US Navy F/A-18 Hornet Fighter Pilot, Kegan was forced to eject near the speed of sound (695 miles per hour) as his plane went down during a training exercise over the frigid Atlantic Ocean.
