Episode 069
Hello! We're back with another episode, though not quite the one we were intending to make. Our guest was to be Brother Ed Stumm, however, Mother Nature and Larry conspired to put a stop to that! Being that the hosts were still planning to get together, it was decided that we should just sit down and record an episode. After an intense struggle, Jack was left holding both the short straw, and the burden of giving us the evening's topic. Join us as we discuss some of the changes that we are seeing in the fraternity, and how those changes are enhancing our Masonic Journey.
[00:00:00] Diving right in, but first, a special intro.

Episode 065 - Special Guest Jay Laser - Grotto, Tall Cedars mixed bag
Well, on Facebook we posted that we’d be delayed a week, BUT, we just happened to all descend upon Lodge No. 665 on a random Sunday for some fellowship, and were able to knock out a quick episode. No frills this show, no news, no segments (because we weren’t ready!) Just Jack, Pete, Larry, Jason, and our friend Jay Laser with a drop in from Keith chat about Scouting, DeMolay, Kentucky Colonels, Grotto, Tall Cedars, and the upcoming installations we’re involved in. Jack and Pete try their hand and selling Grotto vs. Tall Cedars to Keith, and we see who wins. We hope you enjoy our random banter… because we did! Oh, we also shared Canadian hot pickles that were gifted to us from Bro. Nicholas Laine, of Castle Island Virtual Lodge fame, when he visited earlier this year.

Episode 061 - Bro. T.J. Griffin, The Vision Program and At Risk Youth
Welcome to Episode 61! Tonight we’re with Bro. T.J. Griffin and his entourage: Bro. Carlos Rosado and Coach Troy Richardson. Bro. T.J. talks about growing up hustling on the street, turning his life around, working in the hip-hop music industry, and turning those experiences into helping at risk youth via “The Vision Program”. By the way, he also became a Mason, has spoke at Tedx, and stars in an independent film titled “Choices”. Aside from his inspirational story we have some of our regular segments including Bro. Jeff Moyer, and the Masonic Lite News phoning in from Boston… sort of, enjoy!

Episode 060 - Getting Creative with Matt Blaisdell, Creative Director AASR NMJ
Thanks for the kind words, for a change, Bro. Moyer at the top of the show!
Welcome to Episode 60, with your regular hosts and special guest Bro. Matt Blaisdell, Creative Director for the Scottish Rite, Northern Masonic Jurisdiction (AASR NMJ). Matt talks about the recent update to the AASR NMJ’s logos and branding, we have a great conversation about the Northern Masonic Jurisdiction’s Path Forward and Masonry in general, but Larry’s mic broke, so you don’t have to listen to him as much, except for his “Message”… We’re taking bets. Anyway, Jason and Matt nerd out about their Erie, PA connection and hot dogs before Matt tells us about his involvement in DeMolay. Jack has news, we have another Treasure from the Vault, and of course; chickens!

Join your hosts Pete, Larry, Jack, and Jason for an episode we’re VERY excited about! This episode Pete and Larry interview Jim Gavin and Peter Ocko, Co-Creators and Executive Producers, of AMC’s new series: “Lodge 49”. Jim and Peter were wonderful guests and provide some great insights to their new show. Aside from Lodge 49, we attended Castle Island Virtual Lodge No. 190 with Worshipful Brother and past MLP guest, Nicholas Laine, and sat in lodge with many of our other Masonic podcasting friends. As for the rest of the show, Bro. Jeff Moyer phones in another gem and Bro. Jack has some news! Enjoy.
SPOILER ALERT: We talk about scenes in Lodge 49 up through episode 4.

Howdy listeners! We’re settling into Studio 665 and have our first guest in the new digs: Worshipful Brother Nicholas Laine, Master of Castle Island Virtual Lodge No. 190 (CIVL) of the Grand Lodge of Manitoba Canada. Bro. Nicholas has been on the show before, and your MLP hosts have visited CIVL by virtue of a computer screen, but here he is, in the flesh! If you can make it through this marathon of a show, he even interviews us! Pete unveils a segment called “Treasures from the Vault” highlighting interesting facts from Pheonix Masonry. Bro. Jeff Moyer calls in and busts our chops, and Bro. Jack delivers the news. Also in Studio 665 with us this evening is Sir Knight Mark G. Mattern, Eminent Grand Captain General of the Grand Commandary of Knights Templar of Pennsylvania. It’s a long one, but we think you’ll enjoy!

Jeff Moyer is back with more advice for Larry, and Jack has some news straight from somebody else's satire site. We hope you enjoy the new studio as much as we do, we look forward to settling in and bringing you that great Masonic programing only volunteers can provide!

Episode 054 - DeMolay with Deputy State MC Tyler Moyer
Join your hosts Pete, Larry, and Jason with guest host and Deputy State Master Counselor of Pennsylvania DeMolay, Tyler Moyer. Jack had to take a break this episode but Tyler does a great job informing our listeners about Masonic Youth and DeMolay in particular. Tyler will be making a run for State Master Counselor in July and talks with us about his campaign and platform. One small correction, we might have referenced early DeMolay and their friends as "Members and thier Chumps", but it is really "Chums". "Chumps" is more fun to say though!

Episode 053 - Alto Meridiano - Plans for a Spanish speaking Lodge w/ Bro. Dan Madrigal
¿Hablas Español? Join your Masonic Lite Podcast hosts, Pete, Jason, and Jack (Larry's on vacation) with guest co-host, Bro. Dan Madrigal. Originally from Mexico, Bro. Dan relocated many years ago to the Central Pennsylvania area. Even after having once served as Master in his original lodge in Mexico, Bro. Dan had to re-take his Degrees in his new Pennsylvania Lodge, as the two Jurisdictions did not recognize each other. Fast forward to today, Bro. Dan, along with many native Spanish speaking Brothers from the Philadelphia and Central PA area, are working to Charter Pennsylvania's first Spanish Speaking lodge. Tune in to hear the requirements, needs, and even challenges to opening this new Lodge. Do you speak Spanish? Episode 052 - First Responder Night with Steven Henry
Tonight we meet with Brother Steven Henry, a dear friend of our previous guest, Ken Hudson. After some banter... ok, a LOT of banter, we sort of get on topic about first responders. Our guest is a veteran EMS, Fireman, and First Responder etc. Somewhere between the laughter and goofing around, there might be some sort of takeaway. Enjoy!

Episode 051 - Happy 2nd Anniversary
Welcome listeners! Apologies for the delay. Thanks to an extra Monday this month and some technical difficulties, we're sure you were chomping at the bit for this show (insert sarcasm). Thanks to our Facebook memories, we think we're officially 2 years old. HOWEVER, Merris will continue to say we're celebrating 2 years, for the next couple years. We call that "Merris Math". Seth took a bye week, but we have several words of "encouragement" this show from our Goose & Gridiron friends. If you're looking for something more serious, check out a great new Masonic book from a few of our friends at TMR.

Episode 050 - Bro. Ken Hudson
Join your regular hosts Pete, Larry, Jack, and Jason, along with our guest host Brother Kenneth F. Hudson Sr. Ken brings an interesting perspective to Freemasonry. Growing up in Philly and the church community, he had a negative outlook on Freemasonry, only after many years later to have his mind changed and joining at age 67. Join us as we goof around as usual but try to have a somewhat serious conversation about diversity in the craft. Bro. Moyer calls in a few times, and Bro. Seth enlightens us on another odd body with Corpora Obscurum.
01:11:3017/04/2018
Episode 049 - Right Where We Ought To Be
Join your MLP hosts Pete, Larry, Jason, AND Jack for a night of discussion about Jack's topic and idea that Masonry is "right where it ought to be" regarding a transitional period in the craft. We have our regular appearance by Seth Anthony and Corpora Obscurum, followed by a somber piece of Masonic News. We hope you enjoy. No special guests tonight, just the four of us bantering, and a healthy dose of picking on Larry.
51:3203/04/2018
Episode 048 - Rev. Matt Randolph and the Holy Land Pilgrimage
After a quick call in from everybody's favorite Masonic Mentor, Bro. Jeff Moyer, join your hosts Pete, Larry, Jason, Jack, and special guest co-host Rev. Matthew Randolph, Pastor of Donegal Presbyterian Church in Mount Joy, PA. The Reverend recently returned from the Knights Templar's Holy Land Pilgrimage. A trip, as the name suggests, hosted and funded by the Grand Encampment Knights Templar of the USA, reserved for select men of the cloth from across the country. Our guest co-host jumps right in and speaks about his trip, profession, and Masonry. Luckily he fit right in. Your other hosts however, are on their way to confession. Enjoy our regular segments with Masonic News with Jack Harley and a great Corpora Obscurum with the Directory of the Museum of Fezology, Seth Anthony.

Later in the show we are joined by Shaun Sponagle, member of Lamberton Lodge No. 476 and current Monarch for Ubar Grotto, MOVPER. We recorded this episode in our Grotto meeting place, so please excuse the hum from some pesky lights, but the Ubar Grotto Jingle courtesy of Bro. Joey Dougherty should make up for it. Also, we have a couple guest cameos with Brother Scott Helm and Mark Mattern. Enjoy!

Episode 046 - Symbologist Michelle Snyder
Tonight on Episode 046, join Pete, Jason, Jack, and guest host Justin (because Larry's out sick) while our minds explode with information overload from our special guest, Symbologist and author, Michelle Snyder. Our brains are still numb, so we stole her bio and copied it below.
"Michelle is a professor of mythology and symbolism, fairy tale author, blogger, and geek. She earned her post-graduate degree at the University of Wales, Lampeter and has been teaching art and visual language to students of all ages for 35 years. Her artwork, inspired by her love of symbolism, has appeared in galleries from Massachusetts to California. Michelle is co-owner of White Knight Studio with her husband Jay."

After a string of offsite recordings, your fantastic four Masonic Lite co-hosts are back in Pete's basement, err... Monarch Studios! No guest, no topic, just some good old MLP banter. Pete and Larry did go to a Robert Burns supper which recap here. Other than that, we've got some news and the always educational Obscura Corpora with Seth Anthony!

Episode 044 - York Rite Dignitary Bryan L. Hill & DDGM Ronald B. Carson
Welcome to 2018 Masonic Lite listeners. Today Pete, Jason, Jack, Jeff, and a cameo from Larry on his death bed are at the Goose and Gridiron Breakfast at the Movable Feast in Mountville with Bryan L. Hill, and the new DDGM of the First Masonic District, Ronald B. Carson. Our first guest, Bryan, is beyond a big-wig in the York Rite, and Jason reads his entire Masonic Resume, all two pages and 3 minutes of it! Bryan tells us some stories from his career professionally and within the craft. Ronald B. Carson, new District Deputy Grand Master stops by and shares some insights to the next few years in PA Masonry in general and our District in particular as our a New Grand Master was installed recently as well as our new DDGM. Corpora Obscurum in in full effect with Seth Anthony and in typical fashion, Jeff and Larry have their normal jabs, but we think Jeff wins! And just when you thought Larry's voice couldn't get any worse.... well listen on listeners! Lastly, we have some great music from YOUTHFOOL, whose bandmates include a Brother from Lodge No. 43 in Lancaster PA.

Episode 043 - Happy Holidays and Farewell 2017
Well folks, this wraps up another year of Masonic Lite Podcast. Due to our Holiday Schedules, we're recording at the Goose and Gridiron Breakfast Society at The Moveable Feast in Mountville PA. Jack is under the weather so Larry's favorite antagonist, Bro. Jeff Moyer fills in again. Even though this is a Holiday show, Larry's grumpy. We reminisce about the highlights of our 2017 Masonic life in general, Masonic Lite in particular, and Moyer harasses Larry a bunch. Thank you to all "50k listeners in 62 countries" as Larry likes to claim! We know there's really only a couple of you. Merry Christmas, Happy Holiday, Happy Hanukkah, Happy New Year, and everything in between. We'll be on break until January 15th, 2018. - MLP Signing off for 2017.
43:0117/12/2017
Episode 042 - Holiday Happenings at The Valley of Reading AASR
Keeping with the Scottish Rite theme, this episode we go very local and go on location at our neighbor's "Holiday Happenings" event in the Valley of Reading PA. Pete, Larry and Jason spend some time with our host Bro Scott Helm and other dignitaries from the Valley, including Bro. Jeff Moyer, 32.125° who lined up as many interviews as he could.

Episode 041 - We're Going to be All Rite - A Path Forward with the SGC, David A. Glattly.
Join us this week for a hodge-podge of a show. Pete and Larry tried to do the show on the sly without Jason and Jack, but we found out so we all rerecorded. Turns out we were too grumpy even by our own standards and scrapped it. Then we changed our tune when we read "The Path Forward" survey from the Scottish Rite, NMJ, and recorded our initial thoughts... AND THEN, we had an opportunity to speak directly to the source: David A. Glattly, the recently installed Sovereign Grand Commander of the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite, Northern Masonic Jurisdiction. So in short, we ditched most of this weeks ramblings to accommodate the Commander and Michael Russel, the VP of Charity and Development of the Rite, so we could hear it straight from the horses mouth. We couldn't be more thrilled, actually! See below for all the videos and web sites mentioned in this episode, including a local program in the 1st Masonic District in PA: The Cornerstone Group.

Episode 040 - Open Mic Night: Beating the Dead Horse of Fundraising
Join us for Episode 40! How the heck did that happen? Tonight MLP hosts Jack, Larry, Pete and Jason have no guest. Larry thought it should be an open forum, or "open mic" night. Which of course means he wanted to talk about fundraising, as usual. Catch up with the boys after a 5 Monday month where we skipped a week, and hear the usual suspects and segments like Masonic News with Jack, Corpora Obscurum with Seth Anthony, and Jeff Moyer's Magical Mentoring Mystery Minute.

Episode 039 - The Show Must Go On - Featuring Jason Richards from TMR
Episode 39: The show must go on. This show, Pete and Jack were out of town, so Larry and Jason took to the streets, and were guest speakers at Zembo Shrine. We tricked them into recording our intro and outro with us. The rest of the show however; in a series of untimely events and technically difficulties, we've managed to scrap this gem together. Our original scheduled online guest was unable to attend do to some travel delays. Good news too, because it was our first foray into a Google Hangouts only recording. So we did what any good Masonic Podcast would do when doing their first hangouts recording, hailing one of the Masonic podcasting gurus: Jason Richards, of the famed Masonic Roundtable. Luckily he was a good sport. We could only salvage a few minutes for you... Hopefully we haven't scared him back for good. This shows short, but we're going for quality of quantity here folks!
