(7) Philip answered him, “It would take more than half a year’s wages to buy enough bread for each one to have a bite!” (8) Another of his disciples, Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother, spoke up, (9) “Here is a boy with five small barley loaves and two small fish, but how far will they go among so many?” (10) Jesus said, “Have the people sit down.” There was plenty of grass in that place, and they sat down (about five thousand men were there). (11) Jesus then took the loaves, gave thanks, and distributed to those who were seated as much as they wanted. He did the same with the fish. (12) When they had all had enough to eat, he said to his disciples, “Gather the pieces that are left over. Let nothing be wasted.” (13) So they gathered them and filled twelve baskets with the pieces of the five barley loaves left over by those who had eaten.1) We all have something to give right now2) Bring what we have to Jesus Matthew 25:40 NIVAnd the King will say, “I tell you the truth, when you did it to one of the least of these my brothers and sisters, you were doing it to me!”3) Be part of the Miracle ——————————Connect Group Questions:• What does it mean to be generous? What Would You Do If God Was In The Room? The Tale Of 2 Hearts
What would you do if Jesus visited you at home? Jesus is already close to us, but we're just 1 decision away from being even closer - and experiencing overflowing joy!——————————What Would You Do if God Was in the Room? | The Tale of 2 Hearts (Psalm 16:11 NIV) You make known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand”.(Luke 7:36-39 AMP) One of the Pharisees asked Jesus to eat with him, and He went into the Pharisee’s house [in the region of Galilee] and reclined at the table. (37) Now there was a woman in the city who was [known as] a sinner; and when she found out that He was reclining at the table in the Pharisee’s house, she brought an alabaster vial of perfume; (38) and standing behind Him at His feet, weeping, she began wetting His feet with her tears, and wiped them with the hair of her head, and [respectfully] kissed His feet [as an act signifying both affection and submission] and anointed them with the perfume. (39) Now when [Simon] the Pharisee who had invited Him saw this, he said to himself, “If this Man were a prophet He would know who and what sort of woman this is who is touching Him, that she is a [notorious] sinner [an outcast, devoted to sin].”(Luke 7:40-42 AMP) Jesus, answering, said to the Pharisee, “Simon, I have something to say to you.” And he replied, “Teacher, say it.” (41) “A certain moneylender had two debtors: one owed him five hundred denarii, and the other fifty. (42) When they had no means of repaying [the debts], he freely forgave them both. So which of them will love him more?” 43 Simon answered, “The one, I take it, for whom he forgave more.” Jesus said to him, “You have decided correctly.” (Luke 7:44-50 AMP) Then turning toward the woman, He said to Simon, “Do you see this woman? I came into your house [but you failed to extend to Me the usual courtesies shown to a guest]; you gave Me no water for My feet, but she has wet My feet with her tears and wiped them with her hair [demonstrating her love]. (45) You gave Me no [welcoming] kiss, but from the moment I came in, she has not ceased to kiss My feet. (46) You did not [even] anoint My head with [ordinary] oil, but she has anointed My feet with [costly and rare] perfume. (47) Therefore I say to you, her sins, which are many, are forgiven, for she loved much; but he who is forgiven little, loves little.” 48 Then He said to her, “Your sins are forgiven.” (49) Those who were reclining at the table with Him began saying among themselves, “Who is this who even forgives sins?” (50) Jesus said to the woman, “Your faith [in Me] has saved you; go in peace [free from the distress experienced because of sin].”(Eph 3:12 NLT) Because of Christ and our faith in him, we can now come boldly and confidently into God’s presence.(Hebrews 10:19-25 MSG) So, friends, we can now—without hesitation—walk right up to God, into “the Holy Place.” Jesus has cleared the way by the blood of his sacrifice, acting as our priest before God. Don’t Look Down On Joy
What do you think a mature Christian looks like?David rejoiced in Gods presence, and yet some people looked down on his joy. But where Gods presence is, joy is!————————————Don’t Look Down On Joy(2 Samuel 6:16 NLT) But as the Ark of the LORD entered the City of David, Michal, the daughter of Saul, looked down from her window. When she saw King David leaping and dancing before the LORD, she was filled with contempt for him. • Closer to Jesus, Closer to Joy(Psalm 16:11 NIV) You make known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand.• Let Jesus Give You Joy(2 Samuel 6:17-18 NLT) They brought the Ark of the LORD and set it in its place inside the special tent David had prepared for it. And David sacrificed burnt offerings and peace offerings to the LORD. (18) When he had finished his sacrifices, David blessed the people in the name of the LORD of Heaven's Armies. (Hebrews 12:2b NLT) Because of the joy awaiting him, he endured the cross, disregarding its shame. Now he is seated in the place of honor beside God’s throne.(2 Samuel 6:19 NLT) Then he gave to every Israelite man and woman in the crowd a loaf of bread, a cake of dates, and a cake of raisins. Then all the people returned to their homes. (2 Samuel 6:20 NLT) When David returned home to bless his own family, Michal, the daughter of Saul, came out to meet him. She said in disgust, "How distinguished the king of Israel looked today, shamelessly exposing himself to the servant girls like any vulgar person might do!"• Guard Your Joy(2 Samuel 6:21-23 NLT) David retorted to Michal, "I was dancing before the LORD, who chose me above your father and all his family! He appointed me as the leader of Israel, the people of the LORD, so I celebrate before the LORD. (22) Yes, and I am willing to look even more foolish than this, even to be humiliated in my own eyes! How Can God Make My Relationships Better?
In this message Ps Monty talks about how God makes your relationships better.(1 Corinthians 13:4-7 NLT) Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud (5) or rude. It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged. (6) It does not rejoice about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out. (7) Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance.(Matthew 1:18-19 NLT) This is how Jesus the Messiah was born. His mother, Mary, was engaged to be married to Joseph. But before the marriage took place, while she was still a virgin, she became pregnant through the power of the Holy Spirit. (19) Joseph, to whom she was engaged, was a righteous man and did not want to disgrace her publicly, so he decided to break the engagement quietly.(Matthew 1:20-21 NLT) As he considered this, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream. “Joseph, son of David,” the angel said, “do not be afraid to take Mary as your wife. For the child within her was conceived by the Holy Spirit. (21) And she will have a son, and you are to name him Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins.”(Matthew 1:24-25 NLT) When Joseph woke up, he did as the angel of the Lord commanded and took Mary as his wife. (25) But he did not have sexual relations with her until her son was born. And Joseph named him Jesus. How can God make my relationships better?1) Listen to God’s Word2) Act on God’s Word3) Keep God at the Center of Your Relationships(Ecclesiastes 4:9-12 NLT) Two people are better off than one, for they can help each other succeed. (10) If one person falls, the other can reach out and help. But someone who falls alone is in real trouble. (11) Likewise, two people lying close together can keep each other warm. But how can one be warm alone? (12) A person standing alone can be attacked and defeated, but two can stand back-to-back and conquer. Three are even better, for a triple-braided cord is not easily broken.Question Suggestions:How did God guide Joseph and Mary? How has journaling guided you in your relationships? How Should We Act in Front of God? - Living in Joy
Ever wondered, ‘What is God really like’? Through the story of the prodigal son, we see God is not judgmental or harsh, but full of joy, love and mercy. Ps Adrian talks about how we should act in front of God.(Psalms 16:11 AMP) You will show me the path of life; In Your presence is fullness of joy; In Your right hand there are pleasures forevermore.(Luke 15:17-24 NLT) “When he finally came to his senses, he said to himself, ‘At home even the hired servants have food enough to spare, and here I am dying of hunger! (18) I will go home to my father and say, “Father, I have sinned against both heaven and you, (19) and I am no longer worthy of being called your son. Please take me on as a hired servant.”’ (20) So he returned home to his father. And while he was still a long way off, his father saw him coming. Filled with love and compassion, he ran to his son, embraced him, and kissed him. (21) His son said to him, ‘Father, I have sinned against both heaven and you, and I am no longer worthy of being called your son.’ (22) “But his father said to the servants, ‘Quick! Bring the finest robe in the house and put it on him. Get a ring for his finger and sandals for his feet. (23) And kill the calf we have been fattening. We must celebrate with a feast, (24) for this son of mine was dead and has now returned to life. He was lost, but now he is found.’ So the party began.'1. The Joy of Returning(James 4:8 NLT) “Come close to God, and God will come close to you.” 2. The Joy of Forgiveness(2 Corinthians 5:17 NLT) “This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!”3. The Joy of Acceptance (Ephesians 1:5 NLT) “God decided in advance to adopt us into his own family by bringing us to himself through Jesus Christ. This is what he wanted to do, and it gave him great pleasure.”4. The Joy of the Party (Zephaniah 3:17 NLT) “For the Lord your God is living among you. He is a mighty savior. He will take delight in you with gladness. With his love, he will calm all your fears. He will rejoice over you with joyful songs.” (Psalms 30:11-12 NLT) “You have turned my mourning into joyful dancing. You have taken away my clothes of mourning and clothed me with joy, (12) that I might sing praises to you and not be silent. O LORD my God, I will give you thanks forever!”【Questions】How do you think we should act in front of God?What encourages you from Psalm 16:11, what happens when we are in God’s presence?
