Cultivating Kingdom Culture
Welcome to the Kingdom Community Show! In this bonus session, we discuss an important topic: culture, specifically Kingdom culture. Culture plays a vital role in any organization, whether it's a church, a business, or a family. It defines the ideas, customs, and actions of a people, and in the case of the Kingdom Community, it is about cultivating Kingdom culture. This means establishing a culture that reflects the rule and reign of Jesus Christ and embodies the values and principles of the Kingdom of God.To begin, we need to clarify the present culture and assess where we currently stand. This involves measuring the gap between our current reality and the future we desire. We must be honest about the state of our culture and identify any toxic or incomplete aspects. One way to do this is by conducting a SWOT analysis - evaluating our strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats in terms of our culture.Next, we need to clarify our core values - those values that are foundational to Kingdom culture. At the Kingdom Community, we have identified eight core values that shape our culture. These values need to be derived from scripture and are to provide a clear definition of what Kingdom culture looks like in practice. However, building and shifting culture is not an easy task. It requires intentionality, discipline, and perseverance. We must be prepared to pay the price for leading change and hold ourselves accountable to living out the culture we want to see. As leaders, we are cultural architects, responsible for cultivating an environment where Kingdom culture can flourish. At times, we may face resistance and opposition to these cultural changes. It's important to remember that not everyone will embrace the values and principles of Kingdom culture, and that's okay. Our role is to disciple and educate people, helping them understand the importance and benefits of Kingdom culture. We must also be mindful of our own role in culture change. Are we living out the values we want to see in others? Are we modeling Kingdom culture in our own lives? Leading by example is essential in creating a culture that permeates every aspect of our organization or community. It's important to regularly review and evaluate our culture, checking to see if we are making progress in shifting towards Kingdom culture. This can be done quarterly, assessing the extent to which people have embraced the core values and how it has impacted the overall culture. Celebrate the milestones and successes along the way, as this reinforces the importance and value of Kingdom culture. In conclusion, building Kingdom culture requires clarity, intentional communication, accountability, and perseverance. It starts with assessing the present culture, clarifying core values, living out those values, celebrating Kingdom culture, and constantly reviewing and adjusting our progress. By cultivating a Kingdom culture, we create an environment where the rule and reign of Jesus Christ can be experienced, and people can fully step into their identity as sons and daughters of the King. Together, let's advance the Kingdom of God and fulfill our destiny.Sign up for our monthly mentoring class.
