Hi. It's Josh. I published my first newsletter before the age of ten, which I wrote using my next-door neighbor’s typewriter, and copied with carbon paper before distributing it to mailboxes on my bicycle. One of my first stories was an obituary of John Belushi. Strange for a ten year old? Yes! My show is governed by deadpan sarcasm that goes granular on topics of culture that I'm deeply curious about. I hope you enjoy this sometimes snarky stream of consciousness. I'm serious about not taking life too seriously.™ superjews.substack.com

Episode #4: What do I have in common with Nellie Oleson of "Little House on the Prairie?" Spoiled alert: We are both soft villains.

Hi. It's Josh.I grew up watching the television show “Little House on the Prairie,” the characters of Harriet Oleson and her daughter Nellie Oleson, the defacto heels of the town of Walnut Grove, were my favorites. The show was not comedic; it was a full of tragedy, one-hour drama, but when it was funny, the comic relief tended to come from these two characters, either directly or because of comeuppance played upon them.Characters discussed on this episode:Nellie: https://youtu.be/Ark2A_mkLdYHarriet: https://youtu.be/TgbcKkWdt70Dee: https://youtu.be/Dnh1ZvJn8fM#nellieoleson #littlehouseontheprairie #genx+++Read and Subscribe: https://superjews.substack.com/p/what-do-i-have-in-common-with-nellieListen: Follow the podcast link at https://linktr.ee/superjews OR search "Josh Bloom" on your favorite podcast app.+++More about me:I published my first newsletter before the age of ten, which I wrote using my next-door neighbor’s typewriter, and copied with carbon paper before distributing it to mailboxes on my bicycle. One of my first stories was an obituary of John Belushi. Episode #3: The Cure is back in black. "Songs of a Lost World" is the result of an artist minding his muse.

Hi. It's Josh.I love that there are no definable singles on Songs of a Lost World, the new album by The Cure that is so accomplished at being The Cure, Robert Smith could listen to it and learn a few things about himself. He is likely doing just that, as he recently mentioned that the album’s follow-up is already nearing completion.Visit me everywhere: https://linktr.ee/superjewsSubscribe: https://superjews.substack.com/subscribeBuy me a coffee: https://buymeacoffee.com/joshbloomLove, Josh Get full access to Josh Bloom at superjews.substack.com/subscribe

Episode #2: Darker Horse: Did George Harrison steal something for "Something?"

Episode #2: Darker Horse: Did George Harrison steal something for "Something?"

Hi. It's Josh.I can’t remember what made me remember that George Harrison lifted the opening phrase of his iconic song “Something” from fellow songwriter James Taylor, but something did, and when it did, I was inspired. This was information that I knew I knew, as this information is not in any way revelatory for nerded-out fans of The Beatles who subscribe to multiple podcasts dedicated to the band. Still, on this past Monday morning, it got me worked up in a certain kind of way anyway.Visit me everywhere: https://linktr.ee/superjewsSubscribe: https://superjews.substack.com/subscribeBuy me a coffee: https://buymeacoffee.com/joshbloomLove, Josh Get full access to Josh Bloom at superjews.substack.com/subscribe

Episode #1: Block and Delete! Vote For Kamala Harris On Nov. 5th To Keep Bad People From Doing Bad Things.

Hi. It's Josh.If Kamala Harris wins, that makes Joe Biden an American hero. This statement is not about patriotism. This is about people in general and what they do and do not do for the benefit of their fellow man.I really didn’t want to talk about politics today. But I do anyway. In this episode, I also discuss:Getting banned from going live on TikTok, and what it taught me about myself, the dehumanizing behavior of internet trolls and how to deal with them, and what I listen to while I'm sleeping.Visit me everywhere: https://linktr.ee/superjewsSubscribe: https://superjews.substack.com/subscribeBuy me a coffee: https://buymeacoffee.com/joshbloomLove, Josh Get full access to Josh Bloom at superjews.substack.com/subscribe
