Gruner Vertliner, Autentische 2017 (Barrel sample) Some 'funk' on the nose. Much more restrained in mouth. I had the impression that it would change over time in the glass. 2. Weissburgunder Autentische 2017 (Barrel sample) Reminded me of Reisling, but actually Pinot Blanc A lot calmer nose than first wine (Grapefruit aromas) Fresh vibrant wine 3. Welschriesling Maischevergoren 2016 (Orange Wine) 40 year old vineyard Grown on limestone 2 weeks on skins Already bottled and will spend a year in the bottle before release. This is their ‘orange wine for beginners’ 4. Gemischter Satz 2016 1934 vineyard Harvested from mixed vineyard on variable soil 2 weeks on skins Vibrant colour 5. Rosé Autentische. 2017. Zweigelt, St Lauren, Blaufränkisch, Pinot Noir and Syrah (barrel sample) Not produced every year. Not pressed, fermented in steel tank Vibrant colour. Great balance 6. Zweigelt Autentische 2016. 3 - 4 weeks on skins. 2,000L old acacia and oak barrels. 7. Rot Autentische no 3. 2015. 3 - 4 weeks on skins. Maria told me ‘it was nothing special’ but that made it special. It is a pleasant surprise. 8. Zweigelt (unfiltered) 2015. 500L barrels Bottled in August 2017 9. Blaufränkisch (unfiltered) 2015 (single vineyard). 25 years old vineyard Bottled in August 2017 10. Syrah 2015. Not much syrah planted in the area Nose: subtle. Mouth: Elegant, juicy, fruity 11.
