Donald Trump made it very clear that if he was elected that he was going to transform the United States government in many significant ways. And he has been choosing people who he believes will help him do just that, Have you ever been transformed and changed in a very significant way? Would you like to be transformed? With your permission I'd like to take 15 minutes this weekend to challenge you to do what I call a "Be Cause" Time for thinking and planning, As 2025 approaches what would you like to Be. ,,, and what is the cause that you wish to pursue, the thing in your life that is very powerful and purposeful and highly motivating to you, do you have a cause? If not would you like to have a cause because highly successful and change making people usually do, Because the world may step aside for the man or woman who knows who they are where they're going and what they're going to do. Might that be you?

Well maybe not every one of them but many of them, and for some reason many people have the pre-disposition that controversy is bad. Really is that so? Do you know that? One of my missions in life is to help people have ISSACHAR ideas,,, and so may I tell you some stories share some random thoughts and perhaps suggest some ideas that might make sense.  Remember that the goal of much of life and business is to figure out how the world works, what makes sense, and what we are supposed to be say and do, and remember the word BeCause!

The election has been over for two weeks and the conversations, postmortems, and continuing challenges still remain. After all he went through it was said by some that if Trump would win that he would really take revenge on all of his opponents, enemies, and even on people he just did not like. It does not appear that that has happened so far and once Trump was asked about that during the campaign and he made a very startling statement.   So let's take a few minutes to think about that because it might be very helpful for you and I as we deal with some of our opponents, maybe even enemies, and even the people who have done us wrong or even just refused to help us. Just maybe Trump is right. Let me tell you the story and then you can decide.

There is a lot of conversation going on still about the American election and what it means and how it happened. I don't care to join that conversation politically because that's not what I do. However as a business performance coach and perhaps a student of the human condition let me just suggest a couple things that I saw that may have made some of the difference.  You are certainly free to disagree and I would love to hear your words for the conversation. But as always I hope it finally comes down to no one but you and maybe meet which is for both of us to ask where are we going to do differently that is better bolder braver and will make us stronger, and is there a way we can help each other.

I have over 35 years of business performance coaching experience, and I have found that most business people, and unfortunately most people trying to start a business are not very good at communicating... And as a result they are not very good at selling, marketing, telling stories, and attracting others. OK the world is in a mess right now and the American election which will have a significant effect on the world marketplace has now fallen into place and we know a little bit about what will happen with Donald Trump as president of one of the most powerful countries with one of the greatest marketplaces.  So with your permission may I give you your first lesson in one of the new realities of doing business today. Remember nobody will buy what you have or what you do until they are willing to buy you... Here's just a short introduction to that story.

 It's been a week since the elections here in theUnited States and there's still a lot of conversation as well as confusion as to what's going to happen, and of course there is a great deal of speculation as to why Donald Trump was successful and why Kamala Harris was not even though it seemed that the contest for the presidency was quite even. Well one of the reasons is that I pointed out many years ago was that Donald Trump was not only an entrepreneurial businessman, but he had a great deal of experience learning how to use the modern media and was the big star in a very successful TV program.  The man knew how to use the microphone and be in front of the camera... And most of the competitors against him had virtually no experience with the modern marketing mass media. Well let me tell you the story and I think it could be very helpful to you because things are going to change and they're going to change a lot in 2025, and I want you to be ready to make your Mark, be more successful, live with less fear, and have a greater confidence in your abilities because you are learning how to be better at who you are and what you do!

And with your permission may I tell you my story. Like Donald Trump and most people I know I am "a flawed man." That's right I have some flaws and I've made some mistakes and I'm far from perfect. See I am a type A person I am very intense. Often I am impatient and many times I just go and live too fast. There are just a lot of things in life that I want to achieve and do and sometimes I may not be the best at being kind gracious and gentle with those around me. I have to remember that one time a woman simply said to me, Stan please, you just walk too fast! And lately I've been reminded that the God in my life is probably a slow dancer. So maybe I need to learn something from that and if you'll give me 15 I'll share my story.

You have a life to live and you need to be fully alive in 25. So let me encourage you about some ways to do that. And for sometime I've been telling people that podcasting will be vital to the future in terms of life and business and in the way we communicate. The election just passed is now being called the podcast election. Kamala Harris did not go on the Joe Rogan podcast and instead went to Saturday night live. Probably a stupid thing to do. I have been involved in broadcast communication for many years and I know that you have to know how it works if you want to be successful in life and business today, and for sure the new means of communication will not be on ABC CBS NBC or CNN ... And maybe not even FOX. It will be the alternative media of streaming, podcasting, and performing that will make the difference, and so learn how to be a storyteller and a broadcaster, and I will try and help you begin to be good, and maybe even great at these vital skills necessary in the business world today.

The American election is now just about over and the results were very startling both for winner and loser. It seems that people voted for change and they are going to get it. Donald Trump has made it very clear that he is going to change lots of things, And change can be fearful because of anxiety as well as a sense of danger and disappointment. I have a few thoughts about that and may I suggest that we seek to live with less fear in our lives, and maybe even be one of those rare persons who seemingly is fearless. Then let me tell you my favorite story in that regard about a western painting of brave Indian warriors shooting arrows into the air. Now it's your turn to give me a call because I can help you deal in your life and business with many things to make 25 a good year maybe even a less fearful year.

The election is on its way and various celebrities are making endorsements for either candidate. Does that really matter anymore? Oprah came and endorsed Kamala Harris. That's fine. However Oprah went on to say that if Kamala didn't win there would be no more elections in United States.. That's stupid and that's not true and that's part of the problem with endorsements. Most celebrity endorsements are given by people who don't know what they're talking about.  Then the podcast king who I've known for sometime, Joe Rogan, came out and endorsed Donald Trump. And does that matter or again, who cares? Probably nobody and it probably won't make any difference but it indicates something about the changing world of media that you need to know something about. So as somebody who's been in the broadcasting business for over 40 years let me tell you how that might affect you and your business. And this little podcast is only about 14 minutes but may I end up talking about something that might be very important. Are you willing to be a hidden hand for good things in the world today? Well let me tell you what I mean by Hidden Hand

I don't claim the gift of being able to foretell the future. I am not a prophet, but I always seek to be and pray to be a coach man who better understand the times and what's going on and perhaps what will be, and even more so what you need to be. And because things will be quite different in many ways depending on who does win the election may I make a few suggestions that might be helpful to you. I hope that will be the case and that no matter what you know that things can be OK no matter what will be.

Halloween is all about knocking on doors. In fact that's where the whole idea came from. At least it's present incarnation and of course it's still about children knocking on doors and saying trick-or-treat But it might be helpful to know a little bit more about the true spiritual and religious implications of Halloween, and maybe it can be more than just a point of interest in a fun celebration.  It just might be a time to do a little knocking on the doors and windows of your life and seeing if there's some changes you wanna make, some new doors to go through, some new windows to look out of. Maybe it's time to do a little reformation and transformation.  If you give me 15 minutes I think I can help you think about that and perhaps make a resolution, maybe even more, a determination!

Yes there's turbulence going on but it will increase in one week as the election day and time in the USA comes to an end and the counting and deciding and selecting and the name of the winner begins. And so what do we do that in the midst of the mess that the world is in and where division and often evil seem to be the menu of the day; how can we begin to live differently so that maybe we will not only be different in degree from others, but we will be different in kind because we live with special wisdom, insight, and power because we practice many things including the expulsion of the crowd. May I take a few minutes to tell you my story!

I have a number of stories to tell today and I think I got mixed up from yesterday but here's the key point about the election, I just voted but I have a suggestion for both candidates when it comes to the next 10 days before the election that would be very helpful for either one of them. Instead of just hitting on one another why don't they tell us who are the people who would be helping them if we would elect them to be the leader of this country and obviously with all of the world responsibilities that that would entail. Tell us who is on your TEAM... As part of The Executive Appointment Model ,,, and perhaps a few thoughts about AI once again which is going to be a major change factor in a lot of the businesses we do today. And all the best for the weekend.

And now that I have your attention that's just one of the many interesting things we'll talk about in our time today. We will tease you with a little bit of an idea that we're going to make a recommendation to Don and Kamala tomorrow which I think will be helpful for them. I wonder if they will listen. They would be better off if they would. Then I am into storytime with Stan and it is about how in the last 72 hours I've learned things about artificial intelligence that is going to very much helpful to me in my life and business to do things faster quicker and make more money. In fact it may help me help you to transform you and me into somebody with more power poise purpose and a plan, and the ways to market our self in the global marketplace in the year just before us. AI will be both good and bad but there are ways to make it good for you and let me suggest just a few starting now.

Yes it's Wednesday and we're spending the week in the Transformation Zone because we are in Kairos times. That means they could be times of crisis and they might be times for opportunity. And that's why smart people are putting themselves and their spirit into the Transformation zone and let me introduce you to the 4 S words . And no they are not dirty words or nasty words but they are good words that you need to know and put into your life and practice in business today... And then let me give you an example of how just one AI thing for my business probably saved me a couple hundred dollars and will very much help my programs to attract more people just like you into the entrepreneur zone.  Remember in the world to come right now you will probably have to be an entrepreneur and for sure you're going to have to think like an entrepreneur if you want to be successful in the AI transformational economy that is before us right now.

Well I probably have your attention but I hope that you will actually take action... I believe it is true that actually preparing and practicing for your death will actually give you a great deal of personal power and how to live well and how to live better... It will also help you in your business. And everybody has an opinion about Donald Trump.  And part of that is because he is a media genius.  He knows how to attract some and provoke others.  That's one of the reasons that I have often taught the good marketing will help the YES to say so... And for the NO to say so sooner so that you can thank them with a smile and move on~ So remember successful people take 20 minutes every day to try and learn something new and in this 16 minutes you can learn a lot of things that are new.  Today will help you be successful

The celebration of Yom Kippur has begun. It is the highest and holiest of the holy days in Judaism. Even though we are not members of the faith and tradition, we are in deep sympathy, empathy, and a feeling of deep spiritual kinship with our many friends in faith. We too seek to keep the Sabbath and in particular we celebrate the Rosh Hashanah, New Year's, and the 10 days that follow which are the Days of Awe culminating in this holy day which is the Day of Atonement. These are challenging times for us all but in particular for oir Jewish friends and those of us who are friends of the state of Israel. It's been said that Israel is right now in the midst of a fight for it's very existence and it is in a seven front war. I asked a good friend and a colleague in some projects, Steve Lear, to join me in a conversation of forgiveness, and a honest look at the situation before the people of Israel and indeed before us all; and in hope for a new spiritual renewal and direction for us all in the new year! We welcome you to be a part of our Yom Kippur conversation.

He asked me to step in for him and be him on a video. He was a well-known writer covering areas of money, finance, and life principles based on biblical principles and from the Talmudic principles of the Jewish tradition. It was fascinating as he took some of the teachings and ideas from the ancient wisdom of the Hebrew and Christian scriptures and came up with some very significant and very helpful planned for life and business success. And during the Covid crisis he did a special presentation which I not only performed and appreciated it... It really touched my heart and mind with some profound understanding. So with your permission on this day before the Yom Kippur celebration and commemoration, may I share with you the story and what it can mean for you and for me today!.

It's been said that there is a real epidemic of loneliness and that leads to depression and other things that affect our mental health and well-being. Today a new friend of mine, Bill Buck is our guest contributor to the Days of Awe and he has a number of good living insights that will help us. We are made for personal connection. That is often when we are at our best to help one another and by doing that actually helping ourselves. So join me for a few minutes of coaching and counseling on relationships that may help us not only be better at who we are but better in connecting with one another and then being more fully alive.

And what do you think that might mean. There are some people who don't believe in evil... Oh there are bad things and there certainly must be some bad people, but evil, not so sure. Well what do you believe and how does that impact how you view the world, how you live your life and the decisions you might make when confronted with things that are not very nice, not very good maybe, even very bad. Could it be that they are even worse than bad? Please give me a few minutes to think about this with you and see if it might be helpful to you and maybe we could help us to understand some things first of all about ourselves, and then how we should live our lives in relationship to others when things are really bad~

Of course, many people think of new year as a time for new beginnings and a resolution to be better, to lose weight, to get in shape, to stop smoking, to drink less, and to think of things that might be helpful to do to make things better. But in the Days of Awe ... We are challenged to do much more and in many cases we are challenged to do things that will improve the state of our soul, our state of mind, maybe even the very state of our being. My friend Joe Pine will remind us that it may be about a transformation and there may be some simple steps to begin, however we will need to not just begin but find the ways to sustain our growth, our spirit, and our good intentions to not only do better but be in better relationships with others and possibly even with God.

 This is a special edition radio program. The world has now heard about the catastrophe that took place from the hurricane and flooding that has smashed into large areas of the state of North Carolina. And the catastrophe continues and many people are still unaccounted for.  As a member of the Rotary clubs I was able to make contact with a fellow Rotarian who is located in the city of Asheville. Her name is Lacy Hagan Fortunately even though she's had a number of difficulties she is OK and doing fine and helping to rescue others and she had the ability to get through and we had a phone conversation in which she told us about what's going on and how difficult it is... And perhaps how we can be helpful. The motto of Rotary is service above self and they have been trying to more than live up to that at the present time, and obviously they will continue for a long time. And Lacy gave me the sad words that in many situations they now have gone from attempt to rescue to recovery. I invite you to listen to the 25 minutes and then of course pass this on to others and continue to pray for them all help for them all when you can and how you can and of course pray for the children.  

So many people in my home state of North Carolina have been devastated it's been just awful. And the threatened war in the Middle East could be very awful. And yet we seek to have hope. This evening the new year begins for many and it is the hope of the new year that we will prepare ourselves to receive many blessings and share many blessings that are truly awesome. Here are a few suggestions that you might bring to others and share your wisdom insight and truth in ways that might change someone's life starting now in the Days of Awe!

As we post this program in the mid afternoon here on Tuesday, October 1, there is now a state of war between Israel and Iran. And this happens just as a number of us are celebrating the start of a new year and also doing so in a way that we are thinking reflecting and even praying about what the new year would be like and should be like.  So please hear me out for 10 minutes and hopefully you can contribute to some important understandings about what we should all be about right now during these Days of Awe~

Let me tell you right now that this story is exactly 60 minutes. And it is well worth your time to spend part of your weekend to listen to her story of how she started with nothing and created a national business all on her own with a little help, and then figured out how to live a life of generosity and service to others. And as she will tell you, she is no saint, but she is extraordinary and focused, and well coached and extremely resiliant and she learned how to be one of the 3% of the population who knows how to succeed in life. And as a woman in a man's industry, how well and powerfully she overcame the barriers and broke the walls that were necessary for her to succeed in a very challenging and difficult industry. She is wise and witty and fun to listen to, and you will learn a lot. I guarantee it.

When my wife and I realized that we were going to have to move from our wonderful home in Arizona so that we could be closer to our family and help with some of the special needs that they had. We were told by some of our friends in Arizona that North Carolina is really nice. So we found a place in a little town called Cary. And it has proved to be a wonderful place to live and we're very grateful that we can be here. And just in the recent days our town has been selected as one of the best places to live in the country and one of the reasons is the wonderful Town Park. And when our grandson comes to visit from New York City one of the first things he wants to do is .. "When are we going to the park grandpa?" So today I've asked Joy Ennis, the leader and manager of the park to come in and tell us the story, and I think it will be an inspiration to all of us. Maybe it will inspire you to renew your efforts to have a wonderful park in your community

I've been a longtime business performance coach for over 35 years. And one of the first questions I ask when someone ask me about getting coaching is, Are you serious!? When we talk about transformations and tell transformation stories we increasingly want to talk about happy stories. A person or situation goes through a process and emerges as far better in place space or situation, But unfortunately we will sometimes discover that the transformation is not good and that bad and even evil things may have come from it. And let's visit the wisdom insight and truth of a mentor of mine who has some words to say about the most common thing in life for almost all of us... The deep reality of Pain ,,, this little transformational TED type talk just might be helpful to you today and maybe for every day to come.

What it is. ,,, and right now the terrorist who have those new electronic pages are finding out just how life can be.... And how in the world did that happen. Well let's take 15 minutes on this Wednesday define ways to live in an increasingly dangerous and risky world.

This is not meant to be political though some of you will interpret it that way because that's the way the world is working right now.  But I am not a political activist and I have one strong and firm statement of truth that I go by, Political solutions to our problems of life business and relationships are mostly illusions.  I am just an old guy standing by watching the world go by. But occasionally I speak out and this is one of them, Unfortunately there are very few people in the world that I really care about what they think.  One of them is a very wise and wonderful woman that I have known for many years and her name is Karen.  But anyone who has an opinion about something they don't know anything about or have experienced or studied and experience in a great detail really doesn't have a great deal of credibility with me. And I have a bit of a statement that says... Unless you have a lot of scars and stripes and walk with a limp there's a good chance you don't have a lot of wisdom to share with me, So today something happened to me that reminded that what a gazillionaire celebrity rockstar had to say a few days ago and so I'm gonna bring those two stories together and see if it will be meaningful for you or me

 It's been known as an open secret for many years.  Many wise doctors practitioners and people of goodwill have known about it and practiced it and recommended it for many years.  But now the evidence and even the proof is overwhelming.... Spiritual development and living by faith are key elements that powerfully affect your physical, your emotional, mental, and even relational well-being. Our guests today has a worldwide reputation based on the research that he has done from Duke University and shared with people all over the world to conclusively show the wisdom and the power and the good things that will come to you when you seek to live by faith... One of my mentors had a little ditty that he sometimes made us put into music and it went something like this. Remember there's something wrong with everything and nothing works all the time. When we build a business it's here on planet earth not on some heavenly place. Bad things happen and good things go bad and dreams and hopes and plans can go South... And sometimes even the best of ideas and the noblest of causes can cause a great movement of the people on purpose and that is wonderful. But today I want to warn you that your great and good movement could indeed turn into a mobster, a monster, a racket!

 Hundreds of thousands of people are making judgments about the debate most of them don't know what they're talking about. If you're not young and stupid you're going to be very careful and I usually tell people to wait 72 hours before you actually come to the time and perhaps the opinion that might be worth talking about, Then let's go to New York and we were very much as a family involved in the tragedy of 911... Let me tell you the story of how fearful and afraid we were on that terrible day. And then on a positive note can I give you some good advice on thefour S words about things you need to have if you want to be more effective and have real leadership abilities in the world of life and business and even in spirit and help today.

Today I had the privilege of just saying no no no no no many times.  I am so grateful that I could say no to almost everything.  Could I tell you the story of my gratitude... And yes I mean it, it's a very serious question.  Do you believe that it is possible that President Joe Biden will not vote for Kamala to be the next president? I don't know but I think it's very possible and again with your permission may I tell you the story.  You see, all of us are very flawed and broken people and we need to understand the human condition as best that we can so that we can live well and be a blessing to others. So I challenge you to take about 15 minutes to hear some of my radio wanderings and then I'd like to hear from you and then to ask you what is clear to you now!

So let me tell you why that is true and it has nothing to do with politics it has to do with media performance. And maybe that should be a lesson for you as something you might want to do differently in the new year that is before us, So please take some time to let me remind you of the power of being one of the 3% and how we can help you be one of those successful select three who know who they are, what they want, and they have a plan to take advantage of all the opportunities that are before them, and they live with greater courage boldness bravery and have less fear in their life. Let me offer you a number of opportunities that might be just right to make the next year your best ever and remind yourself that your last year's could also be the best of your life because you live an Encore experience.

Obviously the term canceling and cancel culture have a very strong and negative reputation. But just maybe if we truly want to Live Well in challenging times it might be good to become good at canceling things and maybe from time to time canceling relationships and projects... And you do so for three reasons, first of all to get a rest from all the noise in your life, perhaps a way to get some focus on what you really love and what is important. And then you replace canceling time and energy with creative energy. You stop doing some of the same old stuff that might be the result of your stupidity and your stubbornness and you start to create some new things, do some experiments, take a few risks and just live by faith and see what happens. I dare you. I double dare you!

I have a number of friends colleagues and clients who are hoping that somebody will pick them or their book, or their offer, or will allow them the privilege of being interviewed for an opportunity. They are waiting to be picked by somebody else. My simple coaching message for success in the world today is, stop waiting for people to pick you and for you to pick you. And I am the kind of coach who can help you do that.  The modern media of today allows you the opportunity to do with successful people do all the time. They pick themselves, they build a platform, they put on a performance and they demonstrate their storytelling ability, their wisdom insight and truth and how that can be helpful. They picked themselves and in this brief video I give you seven reasons why you should be on the radio so that you can begin the road to success by picking you.

Share with others! Yes that's the deal today. Do you want to be successful as a business leader and entrepreneur today you must know with those stories are and then make a decision as to where you are going to start learning the story, telling the story, performing the story and sharing it with others. Indeed these are the seven keys that you need to work on if you want to be successful in the 21st-century marketplace which will place an incredible premium on your ability to be a performance marketer and survive and thrive in the worldwide digital marketplace. I want those people who have sought and worked hard or at least been fortunate enough to land up as presidential candidates of major parties, and one of them is likely to be president. Before I vote for you I want you to tell me not only what you got, but right now who you got,,, you see I'm not just electing you and your vice president friend, you are going to choose a whole lot of people who are going to have an effect of this country and on my way of life. And I want to know who they are because that will help me decide if I'm going to vote for you ,,, that's right, tell me who you got on your team, who's full of steam and will make things work for the betterment of our world, our nation and for those of us who have to make things great!

 This is episode 500 of the recent editions of Interesting Ideas with Stan Hustad and I really can't think of a better program so close to my heart and many others than this one. In a recent meeting with my local Rotary club the guest speaker was Dr. Richard Bedlack ... A medical doctor and a PhD researcher from Duke University Department of Neurology... His powerful presentation, along with a patient friend who is living well and way beyond the usual length and quality of life of an ALS patient was inspiring to us all. It was one of the finest and Hope filled programs and presentations that I had heard in a long time. So I invited him to be a guest on Interesting Ideas and particularly for our series on The Transformation Project.  He agreed and I guarantee you will find his story encouraging and hopeful.  And don't just listen to his description of his work in the project but also to Dr. Richard approach to life and learning which is one that all of us can benefit from!
