Our very own Editor in Chief of i+s, AnnMarie Martin, sits down for an honest and encouraging conversation with Amber Pickett Wernick of Perkins&Will's Dallas studio to learn more about her story of coming up through the interior design and architecture industry and the lessons she's learned along the way about passion for the profession, mothering, mentoring, advocating for yourself, and much more. Meet Our Guest: Amber Pickett Wernick, director of practice development, Perkins&Will, Dallas Award-winning interior designer and strategist Amber Pickett Wernick joined the Dallas studio of global architecture and design firm Perkins&Will as director of practice development in June of 2023. Wernick, a Dallas native who worked for Perkins&Will between 2008 and 2015, returned to the firm to play a key role in client engagement, identifying new opportunities that grow the studio’s interior design practice. As director of practice development, Wernick oversees all phases of interior design projects while nurturing client relationships and fostering collaboration. With an emphasis on research and innovation, Wernick develops design solutions that align with the social, cultural, and functional goals of each client. She also serves as a leader in the studio, working to support and advance the development of fellow designers. Wernick has a strong foundation in the firm’s values and brings more than 14 years of experience in workplace, education, residential, and healthcare interiors. Cleanability and Maintenance of Performance Fabrics in Healthcare: What Specifiers Need to Know Today

Health and wellness may appear to be a trend in recent years, particularly in the face of a pandemic, but many product manufacturers and experts in the healthcare space have understood the importance of proper cleaning and maintenance to avoid the spread of bacteria and viruses. In this episode, Jane Rohde, principal of JSR Associates and representative for the American Academy of Healthcare Interior Designers, shares her insights on the development of research, performance standards and test methods as part of her work with the Durable Coated Fabrics Task Group.
