Vanessa Gonzalez-Hernandez Ponce - Peruvian Chica in NYC & Qoyas
The USA has been a country formed by immigrants. From the time of the first settlers, hopes, dreams, and hard work have sculpted the landscape, culture, and ideals and such molding still takes place today. In this episode, we meet Peruvian-born entrepreneur, Vanessa Gonzalez-Hernandez Ponce who relocated to NYC to distance herself from her life in Peru and start a new life in this megacity. However, her destiny of working with her mother's tourism company in Peru prevailed leading her down a path of greater understanding of her nation's history and culture, while serving as a beacon for Peruvians living in NYC, and working with the women in her family to create a food company during the COVID shutdowns to offset the lack of tourist traveling with their company in Peru. Vanessa shares with us the deep connection she has with her mother and sister, the ways they motivate each other, and always embrace the pivot. Website
